I presume though you are stuck to only being able to play the games from other regions if you sign in to the console with that regions account? Meaning switching back and worth all the time.
Of course the Nintendo Switch will be available at launch in the UK. The UK has been taken over by Sony ever since the Wii became uncool. It's a shame, because Nintendo offers something for everyone and they offer great systems and games, but retailers here don't even want to bother because they know all they need is Sony to bring in the £££.
I'm down for Zelda, 1, 2 Switch, Super Bomberman C, I Am Setsuna, Fast RMX and Snipper Clips at launch. I'll also probably get the Zelda DLC pass.
Going forward, I've pre-ordered MK8D for April and will no doubt pick up the remake of LEGO City too. I fancy Disgaega in May and later in the year I will pick up ARMS, Fire Emblem, Skyrim, Splatoon 2 etc.
That's already 14 games before we get to the last quarter. I can only play so many at once!
@Koudai1979 If that's right, it's massive. XCX is a huge game and it takes a long time to get even across one hexagon on the map, let alone from each individual area. I've been playing for 30 hours and have still only reached 3/5 areas!
Blunty did a video on this. It's all to do with the fact it's low powered Bluetooth and water [i.e your body] absorbs Bluetooth signals. Also, it stands to reason that if you obstruct the JoyCon it will stop working fully, just like a Bluetooth speaker connected to a phone.
@G0dlike I had this issue. You need to sign out of the "Nintendo Account" completely, click "Forgotten Password" and put in the original email you signed up with and click send reset email. And you'll probably need to do that 5 or 6 times until you actually get one. Then, reset your password and log in with your new one and it'll let you set your User ID.
Nothing Nintendo does with online ever works the way it should...
We've got 9 whole working days to go before people get their hands on the console. Nintendo doesn't have a lot of time to get info out. Part of me even wonders if they will?
It looks lovely, and I'm glad to see they are finally doing away with the kiddy-looking OS of the Wii and Wii U. Nice and slick and clean. Also, that speed... It makes the Wii U look super slow in comparison.
This version shown on the Switch advert clearly isn't PS3 footage, but neither is it PS4 level [which we know isn't possible anyway]. It's definitely somewhere in between. And as pointed out, this is just a simulation in handheld mode.
Has nobody thought to stop and think that since the Switch version of FIFA doesn't even exist yet, they are clearly using stock footage from some older game?
Anybody female dogging about the price needs to remember these facts: It has HD Rumble with multiple independent motors, it has NFC built-in, it has full motion controls built-in and it has a 40 hour battery life.
Also, a PS4 Controller is $59.99 RRP and an Xbox One one is also $59.99. An Xbox Elite controller is $149.99...
I only buy Nindie titles and eShop only things digitally, BUT I will buy Nintendo 1st party titles if the sale is good and it's a game I really know I will play and keep. Also, because I live in Iceland [and Nintendo basically doesn't exist here], it is often my only option to buy digital - because buying physical games here is extortionate - for example, ZombieU is still 11.000kr [£80].
For the Switch, I have ordered Zelda and 1, 2 Switch and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe in physical form, but will pick up Snipperclips, World of Goo and I Am Setsuna digitally.
This needs to be the generation where Nintendo realises digital is the future for most and it needs to price things accordingly - and for God's sake, make sales better!
"Steep" Gold Edition is £62.99 on the PSN Store, but it was recently on sale for £29.99. Nintendo would never do such a sale with such a new game - they can barely bring themselves to take 20% off 30 year old games...
EDIT: Also, Nintendo still have not told us anything about the eShop on the Switch. Is it shared between the Wii U and 3DS? Are our funds shared? Are purchases locked to that one console? Do we need to do a "system transfer" if we need a new Switch? 2 weeks to go...
All we seem to be seeing is story after story of "not coming to Switch".
I don't mind, genuinely, but the millions of other gamers interested most likely do. Nintendo needs to accept that power = support = games people want to buy...
I'm sure it will do the job, and as we have seen 1080p at 60FPS looks lovely. Let's be honest, why do you need more than that? I wager roughly 1% of folk have 4KTVs at home - and of that 1% I bet hardly any have them set up to even see the quality difference properly.
As long as we can get modern games, I don't care. And given we got several Xbox 360/One and PS3/4 ports/co-launches on Wii U with no issue when thought was put into them, I'm sure it'll work out.
Moan, moan, moan. I have had a Wii U since release. I also have MK8 Wii U and all the DLC. But I'll still be buying this.
Why? Because it's a full HD 60fps masterpiece with everything included PLUS updated modes. Plus it can be played fully on the go. Or with 8 person local multiplayer. Also, I can trade MK8 Wii U in for £10 towards it. Bargain!
This is my first FE game and I love it. To all those who are saying, "Newcomers won't know the characters so won't be interested", I don't care. You learn as you go. Plus, now I actually want Birthright, whereas before I wasn't even considering it.
So about £30 to play Slatoon 2 and Mario Kart online? They better offer good reductions and sales, otherwise I won't be bothering. I can count on 1 hand the count of times I played online on my Wii U.
I pre-ordered the case. For £14.99 you can't go wrong. And in future I'll get a game case, but when I'm only getting 1 retail game at launch, I'm not in dire need right now...
If it's £40-50 a year, offers big discounts, free games and lots of big discounts - them I'd consider paying. If not, I'm out. I barely use online as it is on the WiiU.
As for needing a separate mobile app to do voice chat. Really?! It's 2017. Even 3DS had voice chat.
Nintendo says they didn't bundle it in for cost and profit reasons? Well, given that I bet very few people will splash out £40 on it, they won't be making any profit anyway so they might as well have given it away for "free" with their £280 console...
Out of the box, the Switch will literally have nothing to play on it - it'll be an empty console waiting for a slow drip feed of overpriced games. The Wii came with a game, the 3DS came with various games and 3D apps and the Wii U came with Nintendo Land.
I've got one on order, but I'm seriously considering cancelling it. Everything about Nintendo's approach to this console launch screams longterm failure.

Re: Nintendo Download: 9th March (Europe)
Switch VC is clearly not going to begin until the rollout of the paid online begins in Autumn. Why can't folk work this out?
Nintendo were clearly going for a soft launch. And I'm happy with that!
Re: Review: Skylanders Imaginators (Switch)
Does this mean you could theoretically buy loads second hand, scan them all in and return them all?
Do you ever need to scan them again?

Re: My Nintendo Includes Multiple Fire Emblem Discounts in European Update
I just bought Fire Emblem Awakening a few weeks ago for £31.99 and thought that was a bargain. But now it's £27.99. Damn.
Still have 735 Gold Points to spend on nothing...
Re: The Nintendo Switch Parental Control App is Starting to Roll-Out
I'm going to use this app solely so I can have a game time log, since the system doesn't.
Re: Poll: Nintendo Switch Countdown - Less Than a Week to Go, Is the Hype Building?
I cannot wait for Thursday! 4 more sleeps till I get my hands on Switch, Zelda, 1, 2 Switch, Pro Controller, Guardian Amiibo, Official Case and more!

Re: Nintendo Switch Joy-Cons Are Disconnecting, And No One Seems To Know Why
@redd214 The PS4 controller has 10x less battery life because it uses much more powerful software/Bluetooth to maintain such a connection.
Re: Switch Won't Suffer From Early Hardware Shortages, Says Nintendo UK Boss
Amazon, Game, Smyth's etc still have them available.

£44.99 [£42.99 Prime] on Amazon. PS4 and Xbox are both £50.
Re: Video: Watch Eiji Aonuma Unbox The Legend of Zelda: Breath Of The Wild Limited Edition
I'd have bought the Special Edition if had had the same contents as the US one, but as usual in the EU we are ripped off big style.
For those who still want it, Smyth's Toys have them in stock for £79.99.
Re: Guide: Nintendo Switch Launch Games: The Complete List
Zelda
Snipper Clips
I Am Setsuna
1, 2 Switch
Super Bomberman R
That'll tide me over until Mario Kart 8D in April. I also like a look of some of the other eShop games, but will space them out to save money.
