The Test Ride sold me, so I'm definitely buying day one. Since it's a more casual game that I'd like to just hop in to play a few rounds on every so often, it's absolutely something I prefer to get digitally for that convenience.
I completely agree with the letter about Mario Kart World. I absolutely love the height of the skill ceiling in this game and have already logged over 130 hours because of it.
Something I'd like to add is that a lot of people who complain about the game being a skill-free item storm don't seem to realize how they can avoid most items by taking the many alternate paths available in most courses. This makes the game incredibly strategic and a blast to play.
Ori and the Blind Forest: Definitive Edition I currently have around 60% of the map explored. I plan to complete the game before the full release of Kirby Air Riders.
Kirby Air Riders --- Global Test Ride My heart yearns for more City Trial, though I probably won't play too much to make the full release feel more special and also so I can focus on Ori.
Pokemon Legends Z-A --- Nintendo Switch 2 Edition Still going at the grind for the Shiny Charm.
Mario Kart World I will almost certainly hop into the game for a few matches, but probably not many.
I love Legends Z-A, but Game Freak really needs to get their act together with regards to optimization. The details of indoor areas prove that Pokemon's graphical woes come purely from an inability to make good of the graphical budget allotted to them. Luckily, this should be less of a problem for mainline Pokemon games on Switch 2, but even then, unless Game Freak figures out how to optimize their games, the next big Pokemon game will be technically subpar for a Switch 2 exclusive.
This game does not really appeal to me gameplay-wise, so I would normally just be completely apathetic towards this. Being that this is Nintendo's first GKC, I feel a great deal of anger at this title, and a yet greater sense of dread for future Nintendo releases.
@Friendly I wasn't saying that there's no point in owning a PS/Xbox (ok, maybe Xbox). My point is that Steam is providing competition to Nintendo and PlayStation, which makes it harder for any of the 3 companies to be overly anti-consumer.
From what I understand, PS5 standard is more powerful than Steam Machine, and Nintendo of course has its exclusives, so Steam Deck/Machine does not make these other consoles redundant. And then there's Xbox, which is a sinking ship whether or not Steam competes.
They said there would be some "deep cut" characters appearing, and then only showed Rosalina and Bowser Jr. as new characters. Which of these does the movie team believe to be a "deep cut"?
Maybe I'm just coping, but I feel like it doesn't make sense for them to use a placeholder Game Key Card box when physical pre-orders open in 2 days. Maybe this means it's not actually a Game Key Card, but I guess we'll just have to wait and see.
I'd like to see Jurassic World Evolution: Complete Edition get fixed. I own it on Playstation, but would consider getting it on Switch 2 if it wasn't broken.
Ori and the Blind Forest: Definitive Edition Started playing earlier this week. While I found the start a bit slow, I think the game is definitely starting to pick up now.
Kirby Air Riders Checking out the Global Test Ride Demo. I did lessons yesterday and enjoyed how the game controlled, excluding the Quick Spin. If I enjoy this demo, I may pre-order.
Pokemon Legends: Z-A Going to work on the 1000 battles grind a bit. I'm in no hurry so I'll just do a couple of nights in the Z-A Royale daily until I reach 1000 battles.
Mario Kart World: Probably going to play a few races and KTs.
As time goes on and game budgets grow larger and larger, new IPs will be seen as riskier and riskier, making them ever less frequent. Given the slim pickings of new IP during the Switch generation, this bodes ill for the possibility of new Nintendo IP during the Switch 2 generation.
It's funny that there's over 2 hours of trailers for this game and not one minute of it is just a regular gameplay trailer without voiceover and explanation.
I love Deltarune and plan on purchasing Silksong and Hades II later down the line. Hogwarts Legacy was boring IMO. I may get Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade. Overall a nice lineup, but it seems as with the original Switch, the pinnacle of third parties will continue to be Indies.

I wonder if this hints towards the release windows of other unreleased games on this calendar.
Probably not, but it's something to think about.

Re: The Super Mario Galaxy Movie Gets A New Movie Poster
The Super Mario Bros. Movie didn't show much of the Bros.
Perhaps the Super Mario Galaxy Movie won't show much of the Galaxy
(Why do I get the feeling someone will think this isn't a joke)

Re: Random: Steam's Brand New Game Console Sure Looks Awfully Familiar
With Xbox seemingly leaving the scene, it's good that Steam is coming in to give competition to PlayStation and Nintendo.

Re: Pokémon Pokopia Is Seemingly Nintendo's First Game-Key Card Release
Most Nintendo games are probably going to be unaffected, but Pokemon going forward may just go for GKCs.
I hope this isn't the case, but Pokemon hasn't exactly ensured the maximum quality possible these past few years (even if the game is still fun).

Wait, I thought Switch 2 couldn't be used with the Labo VR Kit. Why is there a point about VR mode?

Re: Talking Point: What's The Best Firework Sequence In A Video Game?
Blacephalon blowing up his goddamn head has got to be my favorite firework sequence in a video game.
