Re: Pokémon Scarlet & Violet Version 2.0.1 Is Now Live, Here Are The Full Patch Notes

The_Blue_Mage

@NomDragon I feel the same way, although I love the series and have played every main title, Scarlet and Violet was the last straw. Legends Arceus was fantastic and got so many people interested in Pokemon again. I have a friend that hasn't touched a Pokemon game since Ruby and Sapphire and even he bought it, played it and enjoyed it. Not sure why they didn't continue with that style of gameplay as its way more interesting and fun in my opinion. Its great that Scarlet and Violet was open world but everything else was the same pretty much. And yes, the performance is atrocious, but it has become a money cow for Nintendo/Game Freak and that's all they care about at this point

Re: Poll: Will You Be Getting Pokémon Scarlet And Violet's DLC?

The_Blue_Mage

Nope, skipping it. I got Sw and Sh DLC mainly because Urshifu was such a great design and now my favorite. But this feels like the same thing on repeat but with designs I don't care about. But also it's not worth the money in my opinion, especially since Scarlet and Violet runs like crap on the Switch. Legends Arceus is still the best game this gen and that style should be what they move forward with but they are just playing safe once again

Re: Soapbox: Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom Straight Up Fails In Just One Respect: Accessibility

The_Blue_Mage

Everyone has there own opinions on this subject and that's fine but for the love of all that is holy can we keep politics out of it? Every post like this ends up being a political flame war or SJW crusade. What people need to realize is that in our current society, profit is the bottom line. It's a sad truth but truth nonetheless. If they sell millions of copies without accessibility added then why would they bother in the first place? Mind you I'm not defending their decisions but rather pointing out the flaws with the corporate world that we live in.

Re: Xenoblade Developer Monolith Soft Raises Staff Salaries Across The Company

The_Blue_Mage

They deserve it and then some. These games are what I consider to be true AAA games. Incredibly polished and runs fantastic on a system that has less than stellar specs. Full fledged games with DLC that is actual huge expansions to the main game. The amount of stuff they can cram into those tiny cartridges is just nothing short of amazing. So many companies could learn a thing or two from Monolith Soft. Cheers and here is to more Monolith Soft goodness in the future

Re: Free-To-Play Shooter 'Rogue Company' Ends Service On Switch In June

@Anti-Matter I have to disagree completely on this statement. I think there is definitely a place for F2P games in the market, it pretty much breaks the entry barrier and allows more people to play a game they normally wouldn't (or can't) pay for. Now the problem isn't the model itself, its the greedy businesses that are trying to make a quick profit and using pretty much psychology and gambling practices in their games to manipulate their consumer base which should be illegal but its not, at least here in the US. Things like this need to be brought up in politics but of course they are not because these big companies are making billions a year off of manipulating their consumers. There are some F2P titles that shine IMO which aren't very many but right off the top of my head there is Leage of Legends and all of Riot's F2P games which have very fair business models and also Warframe. I would add Multiversus to that list but the content just isn't there for that game, at least not yet. But I will say yes don't support the greedy businesses

Re: Poll: What Did You Think Of The New Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom Trailer?

The_Blue_Mage

Looks great TBH, Im not seeing why so many here are hating on it. We still don't know about majority of the game and I think thats on purpose. They want it to be a surprise to us, much like BotW was. Now as far as weapon durability goes, looks like its still in the game, however they have improved it by adding the fuse system. If you noticed when he fused the stick with a rock, the durability went way up (it didnt even get the warning after like 8 strikes). But the idea is that you are always using the environment for weapons and I personally like that. I think it would be rather boring having a normal weapon system where you just switch out for whatever has the higher stat, but to each their own

Re: Poll: Do You Want Weapon Degradation To Return In Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom?

The_Blue_Mage

I think it just needs improvement, not taking away. It makes sense to have from a realistic perspective. Just like in real life, the more you use a weapon, the weaker and more vulnerable to damage it becomes. They do need to lengthen the degradation rate though. So instead of it breaking in like 10 hits, should be like 30 instead, maybe more but its something that would need a lot of testing first
