@NomDragon I feel the same way, although I love the series and have played every main title, Scarlet and Violet was the last straw. Legends Arceus was fantastic and got so many people interested in Pokemon again. I have a friend that hasn't touched a Pokemon game since Ruby and Sapphire and even he bought it, played it and enjoyed it. Not sure why they didn't continue with that style of gameplay as its way more interesting and fun in my opinion. Its great that Scarlet and Violet was open world but everything else was the same pretty much. And yes, the performance is atrocious, but it has become a money cow for Nintendo/Game Freak and that's all they care about at this point
I would love to see a new Mana game announced for the Switch, I loved Trials of Mana remake and the whole series in general so that's my wish. More Mario RPG news is also welcome as that's my most anticipated game this year, gimme more Geno please
@Savage_Joe This, its not hard at all for them to upscale to 4k via a dock. The Switch screen would most likely be 720p or 1080p like you mentioned. The technology is there people, keep that in mind
Nope, skipping it. I got Sw and Sh DLC mainly because Urshifu was such a great design and now my favorite. But this feels like the same thing on repeat but with designs I don't care about. But also it's not worth the money in my opinion, especially since Scarlet and Violet runs like crap on the Switch. Legends Arceus is still the best game this gen and that style should be what they move forward with but they are just playing safe once again
@Vivianeat Don't think you need to worry, it was just a tech demo supposedly. I personally think it would be suicide for Nintendo to not have backwards compatibility with Switch. Now I think it will be some games will run better but most will stay the same, just depends if the developers want to do it, just like when certain PS4 games got a PS5 upgrade
It won't happen, MK characters are way too violent for the game. They would have to water it down and that would be doing the characters and series a disservice. It would be neat though
@sanderev well still, I highly doubt they wouldn't implement backwards compatibility, especially since digital sales have been so high this gen. So I would bet we still get it
Not too surprising but great to hear nonetheless. Pretty much confirms backwards compatibility as digital Switch games are tied to your Nintendo account
@Snatcher I agree, Nintendo has always prioritized fun and genre diversity over hardware power which is part of why the Switch and their previous consoles were so successful
I'm just so happy to see Super Mario RPG get a remake. I hope they add something new in the game but either way I'll be happy and is a day 1 buy for me. A lot of good stuff here but the highlight was RPG for me. I hope we get to see Geno on a more regular basis now!
I completely agree with Gavin here. I would love to see a new rhythm heaven, warioware, or heck even elite beat agents! Mainly rhythm heaven just because I love that series
It's most likely going to run and play like MK 11 which was...not optimal. Sure they pulled it off but the game looks like doo doo. If you are really into MK, just get the PS5 or PC version if you can
I believe they could do it but doesn't mean I would want them to. I want the series to continue to evolve and introduce new stories, characters, settings, enemies, ect. We have a whole trilogy of this particular world on the switch and I think that's plenty (plus the dlc!). It's been amazing but let's move on to the next world
I actually prefer the mech designs in this game to the ones in Armored Core. I really need to play the first one and just give it a try. I see mixed reception on it but Ill judge for my self
@Jprhino84 I'm not saying it wouldn't increase sales, I agree that it would, I'm just saying they probably wouldn't take the time to implement it when it's not needed from a financial standpoint
Everyone has there own opinions on this subject and that's fine but for the love of all that is holy can we keep politics out of it? Every post like this ends up being a political flame war or SJW crusade. What people need to realize is that in our current society, profit is the bottom line. It's a sad truth but truth nonetheless. If they sell millions of copies without accessibility added then why would they bother in the first place? Mind you I'm not defending their decisions but rather pointing out the flaws with the corporate world that we live in.
It could be done right and I could see it lean towards something like Dragon Quest Your Story. It was a very good way of handling a silent protagonist in my opinion. Or they could just go with the "he's mute" route
Anyone else think characters from the Diablo franchise would be awesome guest characters? Would fit the whole dark, bloody theme at least. Anyways, excited to see the next game and what those grains of sand mean
They deserve it and then some. These games are what I consider to be true AAA games. Incredibly polished and runs fantastic on a system that has less than stellar specs. Full fledged games with DLC that is actual huge expansions to the main game. The amount of stuff they can cram into those tiny cartridges is just nothing short of amazing. So many companies could learn a thing or two from Monolith Soft. Cheers and here is to more Monolith Soft goodness in the future
Yea so that blew me away. Knew they were keeping a lot from us but didn't expect all of this! Also that character with the white hair looks to be a monk, maybe one gets revived and consoles Zelda hmmmm
@Anti-Matter I have to disagree completely on this statement. I think there is definitely a place for F2P games in the market, it pretty much breaks the entry barrier and allows more people to play a game they normally wouldn't (or can't) pay for. Now the problem isn't the model itself, its the greedy businesses that are trying to make a quick profit and using pretty much psychology and gambling practices in their games to manipulate their consumer base which should be illegal but its not, at least here in the US. Things like this need to be brought up in politics but of course they are not because these big companies are making billions a year off of manipulating their consumers. There are some F2P titles that shine IMO which aren't very many but right off the top of my head there is Leage of Legends and all of Riot's F2P games which have very fair business models and also Warframe. I would add Multiversus to that list but the content just isn't there for that game, at least not yet. But I will say yes don't support the greedy businesses
@Joker1234 I like how you assume that a 10 minute video displaying some new mechanics encompasses the entire experience. How about just a wait and see approach instead of just writing it off?
Looks great TBH, Im not seeing why so many here are hating on it. We still don't know about majority of the game and I think thats on purpose. They want it to be a surprise to us, much like BotW was. Now as far as weapon durability goes, looks like its still in the game, however they have improved it by adding the fuse system. If you noticed when he fused the stick with a rock, the durability went way up (it didnt even get the warning after like 8 strikes). But the idea is that you are always using the environment for weapons and I personally like that. I think it would be rather boring having a normal weapon system where you just switch out for whatever has the higher stat, but to each their own
dont know why so many people that Nintendo will do something different. The Switch is wayyyy too popular for them to move away from. Like others have said, its just going to be a better performing Switch which is exactly what I want
Man this direct was fantastic. GBA, Metroid, Sea of Stars and Zelda were the big highlights for me personally but they showed such a huge variety that I think there's something there for everyone
Im enjoying Engage mainly because of the combat and class diversity. If it wasnt for that I would ditch the game and completely regret my purchase. The characters and story are terrible in my opinion and seems very fan service-y.
I think it just needs improvement, not taking away. It makes sense to have from a realistic perspective. Just like in real life, the more you use a weapon, the weaker and more vulnerable to damage it becomes. They do need to lengthen the degradation rate though. So instead of it breaking in like 10 hits, should be like 30 instead, maybe more but its something that would need a lot of testing first

Re: Mortal Kombat 1 Welcomes In The New Era With Launch Trailer
@Magician even offline it was an eye sore with like 10 fps...if you have a choice, don't get it on Switch
Re: Rumour: 'Switch 2' Gamescom Demo Supposedly Had Zelda: BOTW Running At 4K 60FPS
@Vivianeat could be, although they would have to market it as a new console I would think, so like "Super Nintendo Switch" could work IMO

Re: Brand New Pokémon Dipplin Is The Best Thing About Scarlet & Violet's DLC
Raikou looks horrible, like why did they have to ruin it and Suicune too? They are big dog/cat types and now they are dinosaurs? I'll pass
Re: Gallery: Dragon Quest Monsters: The Dark Prince "Sneak Peek" - Heroes, Story & World
@Serpenterror I mean you are comparing a Switch game to a PS5 game lol so obviously its not going to look as good as Sandland

Been waiting for an excuse to jump into the Monsters series of DQ and now this seems to be the time for it! Will be grabbing this one
