As much as I despise Fortnite, I can't deny its appeal. However, I doubt the Nintendo execs want their beloved characters using guns. Like Mario and Link with guns, just the idea of that makes me cringe. The whole idea of having characters that never use guns all of sudden use guns has always felt very juvenile to me.
Keep in mind that the Force Unleashed is a port of the Wii version, aka the worst version. Cutscenes are different and look weird compared to the Playstation and Xbox versions
Now this is my cup of tea. I love the Mana series and this entry look gorgeous. I hope it has the weapon system of Children of Mana where the main character can equip any weapon type or a return to Trials class system would be great as well!
I didn't watch this year because I don't want to support it any more. I just wait until the next day and review all the games that were announced. I think the devs of these amazing games should receive some kind of official praise for their work because they really do work their tails off, but this isn't the way to do it
@nessisonett I gotchya. I looked into both of those cases and honestly they seem like nothing more than rumors as they don't have evidence to back up those accusations. Or in BMW case, posts were taken from 2013...Not trying to defend anyone mind you, just when I hear these kinds of things it makes me wonder if its true or if its just disgruntled workers trying to sabotage a studio out of spite for some other reason. Or people trying to cancel others because it gives them a sense of purpose
The game awards is a joke honestly. It's not necessary, I'd rather just have a scripted, recorded video of back to back world premiere game trailers and acknowledge the great games that were released throughout the whole year then done.
Why Square...they really want to shove FFVII down our throats. It's a great game but this is too much in my opinion. Next they will appear in Fort Night
I say they start over from scratch. As much as I love Ultimate and its predecessors, I think it would be so refreshing if we got a smaller roster that is more balanced and fine-tuned. I also want to see new kits for returning characters, so they play differently this time around. No clones or echoes. New stages. And Geno in base roster Then they could flood the game with DLC characters and stages since the base roster would be smaller. Could even be live service to be somewhat future proof
It was Hero for me personally since that was the only character in the DLC that I actually really wanted to be in. Banjo-Kazooie was a close second but just because of the nostalgia.
Not surprising that a DQ game gets a high score from Japan reviewers but nonetheless the game looks neat. I was personally turned off by the performance of the demo, although the performance could be improved by final release. I just recently got into the Monster spinoffs and so far Im having a blast with Terry's Wonderland 3D, so I may have to check this one out eventually
Great to hear from the original devs! Obviously he's pretty happy about the hype around SMR remake, hoping this will lead to more projects. I just think Mallow and Geno need to be Mario regulars at the very least
I give it a 9 personally. It's still that classic, comfy RPG I remember from the SNES but with a beautiful makeover and quality of life features. The price is a bit steep, but I love the devs (ArtePiaza) and they did make it from the ground up. One of my favorite games of all time and it's about time Geno gets the spotlight. Him and Mallow should be staples in Mario going forward
@electrolite77 I feel like it's more about them shoving Mario out as much as possible due to the success of the movie but it's probably a mix of things
@Anti-Matter Its ok if you don't understand, but that just your opinion. There are tons of Mother fans that honestly just want another game, my self included. The games we did get here in the west were fantastic so it only makes sense that there would be a demand for it
Not surprised by SMR numbers, considering that its basically competing with Wonder. If it was just priced at 49.99 or even 39.99 USD, I think it would sell better considering the content is very light. However, it is a fantastic game nonetheless and I highly recommend it to any Nintendo fan
As a big DQ fan, I dig this. Although I wish they would do more designs with the Heroes and supporting characters rather than the monsters but still, its charming nonetheless
Knowing Nintendo, they would play it super safe and do what they did with Super Mario RPG. Same game but with a new coat of paint and a few extras. Mind you, I think that was completely fine for SMR and I still love that game, but it was hard justifying the price
I hope the demo was just the alpha version of the game because man it looked janky. Like PS2 level graphics. I'm assuming Square put this one with a lower budget but still, it's part of the biggest video game franchise in Japan, you would think all of their games would be top notch quality. I just got into the monster spinoffs and I highly recommend DQ Monsters: Terry's Wonderland 3D. It's fantastic and a remake of the original Monsters game. If you have a modded 3DS or emulator of some kind, get the English patched version. It never came to the west but a group of fans did an awesome job at translating it
I like how every time there is an article about the steam deck, the comment section is flooded lol. I am all for this as I love hybrid systems like the Switch and Steam Deck. More options for the consumers and they all have their strengths and weaknesses.
Like others here have mentioned, the next Smash game doesnt have to be as big or grand as Ultimate. And honestly I don't want a Smash Ultimate 2.0. I want a brand new entry in the series with a smaller, more refined roster with returning characters getting brand new kits and new characters that haven't had the spotlight yet like Geno. Give us a meaty story mode on top of that and I'll be super happy
The only reason I'd say no would be if I can't play my current Switch cartridges on it. I have quite a lot of physical games and it would be a shame if I couldn't play them on the new switch. But then again I could always keep my Switch and use it separately...hmmmm.
@SalvorHardin uh what? Since when were people sick of Lara Croft? We hardly have had any content related to her lol plus she's a gaming icon so I don't see a problem here
I'm in my Final Fantasy mood currently so I finally got Stranger of Paradise for PS5. Gonna kill CHAOS. And in between that I've been playing Thunder Ray on my Switch. It's been a fun throw back to Super Punch Out and I really hope Nintendo brings back that IP now
@LadyCharlie So I agree with your points to an extent. Yes, do not buy the Switch version, its terrible and after I made the mistake of buying MK11 on the Switch I will never do that again. But if you have the option of getting it on PS5 then you should if you love MK. Its a great game despite its monetization methods. I paid 70 dollars for the base game and since I pre-ordered I got all of the base characters and I think with all the content they offer its worth the money. Its ridiculous they lock characters behind preorder bonuses but that's more with WB and not the devs themselves. That's not going to change though unless people stop preordering which won't happen
It was pretty good, glad to see more info on Mario RPG!! Although I am going to buy it regardless lol. The Peach game looks like a lot of fun but the rest of the show was just ok. I never played Thousand Year Door so not hyped but it does have my interest
Im going to pick this up today, I love the style of it! Punch Out but with a modern twist. I heard it doesn't play as good as Super Punch Out but its still fun and cheap so I'm still getting it. Plus if it sells well Nintendo might take note and bring back Punch Out (would be sick with the joy cons)
I actually enjoyed SwSh DLC from a theme perspective compared to this one. This one is heavily inspired by Japanese culture which is fine (which I feel like has been a trend recently with Japanese developers) but the Pokemon designs aren't really doing it for me. Plus the framerate issue is still a thing so I'll just wait for the next game
