At least they are trying to compensate by giving players more bang out of their packs. And they never said it was because of cardboard shortages, that's just your own presumption

This is a much welcomed change. Japan has had the silver boarders for a long time and there's really no point in continuing the yellow border for us. IMO, PTCG has never been about nostalgia, and I grew up with the OG sets. Its a card game that continues to change and change is good

My personal favs from this gen are Gholdengo and Slither Wing even tho it’s just another form of Volcarona

While its a bummer that the frame rate suffers so much here, I still appreciate it for what it is: an open world Pokemon game. And honestly Im pretty darn happy with it. Miles above Sword and Shield IMO. Now if we can just get new hardware to support a game like this at a stable 60fps then I can die happy. The gameplay loop does get a tab repetitive but I do love the edition of mini games for the Gym challenges, breaks it up a bit. Anyways I feel like they will continue to improve the franchise

@phartsy I completely agree but there’s a big problem that stands in the way: Capitalism. As long as these games rack in the money, not much is going to change. Majority of people who buy these games would have to stop buying them but that won’t happen. When parents see Pokémon games, they don’t question the quality of the game at all. They just say “oh a Pokémon game I’m sure my kid will like it”. While Pokémon has never really been about the graphics, it’s still sad to see this. But it boils down to the big wigs making these guys pump out a new title every year. If they were given more time it would turn out better

This shouldn't surprise anyone and I love how so many are so quick to post their set-in-stone opinions. Pokemon and Zelda are both huge IPs but Pokemon is just bigger, especially in Japan. Also the game launches in 4 days while we still hardly have any concrete information about TotK. I love both IPs but doesn't change the facts

I love how articles like this turn into flame wars with people defending and attacking an art style. Just accept it (or dont) however you want people and move on, its not hard

You would think after some years working on the switch they would get this figured out. But to be fair the Switch was the teams first console jump, being exclusively on handhelds previously. However, I think the core issue is the engine they are running. And the fact that they are so time crunched to push this stuff out every year

We still hardly know anything about the sequel other than it looks similar to BotW but a lot sky areas now which isn’t anything new. I just hope there is more to this that they are leaving out of these trailers otherwise it will just be botw 1.5

I still feel like they could take this concept and just make it better. They could make it a Ninja Gaiden-esque Zelda game but you play as a Sheikah that you can customize. I think that would be pretty bad-ass.

This is great for me, Ive always wanted to play Cannon Dancer and I was pretty close to just playing it on a MAME emulator but now I know its coming to Switch Ill just wait. I hope we get a release here in the west, considering we did get the original I'd say we will get this as well

I could totally see Smash Bros being a live service F2P game in the future. It makes perfect sense for fighting games that get regular updates throughout the years. Multiversus is a prime example of the success that the model can bring Nintendo. Eliminating the barrier of cost is huge for fighting games. Feels so bad to drop 60 dollars on a game only to be bodied constantly online by people who no-life the game then all of a sudden you dont even want to play it any more.

Been really enjoying this one. As someone who couldn't quite get into Animal Crossing, this was a pleasant surprise. The combat is fun and I really enjoy the rogue-like elements in the game. Its also just hilarious what they did with the whole cult theme

Been playing since Red and Blue days and my favorite is Rapid Strike Urshifu. His design is just so cool and has two of my favorite types (fighting and water). Literally have been waiting for a super cool fighting type and finally got it in SWSH DLC

I am a big DQ fan but this title doesn't really interest me a whole lot. But I think I'll buy it just to show support. Who knows, if this sells well enough Square Enix might have the balls to finally release DQ X here in the west

Still waiting for a release date for Pokémon TCG Live as they said it’s suppose to come out this year but we still don’t have even the beta here in the states yet. But mainly expecting this one to focus on Scarlet and Violet which is cool since I plan on buying it

The thing is games like these have been around for years and years. This is nothing new and shouldn't surprise any one. Why all of sudden is it being attacked? I think creators should be free to develop these games as long as its not too crazy and its clear that its an adult only game

@Yosher People will find any excuse to complain about how a game looks when really they should be concerned about the gameplay itself. Is it fun, engaging, not p2w? Thats more important to me anyways

Why are they avoiding the US? I really don’t want to play online again until Live launches mainly due to the fact that you can craft cards instead of trading which is the better way to go for online tcgs like this IMO. They probably realize that The US would be the harshest critics of them all 😂

Ahhhh nostalgia is knocking on my door again. I enjoyed this one more over the original because I like the characters more, especially the Dark Elf monk! I’ll be picking this one up

It’s sad that fans have to resort to remaking it on their own time. Please Square, either sell the characters (Geno and Mallow especially) to Nintendo or work with them again for a remake!! Also we need the original on NSO asap

Kaiju #8!! Hyped for that character alone. Im surprised the staples aren't here yet like Naruto, Goku, or Yusuke Urameshi. But they might be the other unlockable characters or they are going for more of a modern Jump approach to draw in newer fans

However I still hate what Blizzard has been doing with their games, especially with Diablo Immortal so I’m not going to support them until they do something about their greedy little hands

Hollow Knight is an amazing game so any other game that wants to bring some more of that to the table is a welcome addition in my book

Its cool that this PSP classic is getting new life but at the same time Im sooo sick of seeing FFVII. Square is acting like this is their only FF title that matters and they are just milking the living heck out of it. Its a neat world but not one that needs to be visited every year...how about some love for FFVI for once?

Yea I was pretty disappointed with the Switch performance. Long load times and framerate drops is no bueno. I hope these can be solved with patches because it is a fun game. I can slug through it for now but it can be rough sometimes
