Re: Soapbox: "Go Outside, Get Some Fresh Air" - Why Won't Outmoded Gamer Stereotypes Die?

SwagaliciousJohnson

Personally, I don't get a lot of 'hate" since (most of) my friends (and most of their partners as well) play games themselves. With games for a more general public, such as Call of Duty and FIFA, I do feel that more people then ever play games. What I find mostly true is that the generation of my parents (now between 55 and 65) generally still have issues with hobbies and occupations that are practiced in front of a screen.

Re: Feature: Meet The 'Arzette' Dev Salvaging The Zelda CD-i Games' "Genuine Potential"

I remember playing The Faces of Evil on the CD-i, back then I wasn't old enough to buy my own console and my parents bought me the Philips console thinking it was the next bit thing. Oh, boy, we're they wrong. Me, being a kid, wasn't aware of what kind of monstrosity we had in our home so I "enjoyed" every game I could get my hands on. I remember the Zelda and Mario CD-i games were (and are) terrible, but nevertheless I played them thinking that they were complete products. To this day I never played this games. I might just buy Azerette to check it I can get some flashbacks of the old days. All and all together I think just even making this game is either brilliant or really genius.

Re: Soapbox: Ganondorf's Villainous Intro In Ocarina Of Time Is One Of Gaming's Best

He's introduction in Ocarina was good, yes, but the real impression he made for me was the fact that, after defeating the king of evil and escaping the crumbling tower, he was still alive underneath the rubble only to transform into the beast we know as Ganon. I remember the fight being on such a scale that my TV couldn't show the entirety that he's beast form was. The feeling of "this is far from over" always stuck with me and I don't believe any other boss battle lived up to this one.
