@BLK_4EVER even if the software itself turns out to be okay you know they'll botch the marketing and sales of it completely, there will be like 30 different "complete" "deluxe" and "Deluxe complete" versions of it to pick from ranging up to 500euros for a version that actually has the complete software... everyone will avoid it like the plague at launch and within 2 months Ubisoft will be trying to sell off copies in sales for €6 happens every time.
The Generation pack means this is amazing value on Switch 2 right now, the game itself is fairly costly but if you pick up that generation pack you get VII and VIII thrown in for basically 10euros per game, means averaging out at 33euro per Resi Evil, wonderful if you just had Switch 1 last generation and missed out on these games like I did. ( we don't count the cloud versions as existing!)
Picking the one I'll be naming "Missile" then I'll not be leveling him or catching any more Pokemon, just happily play for hours with his fiery fluff in the new version of pallet town until I die IRL.
I mean if you watched the trailer and thought "this looks like it will run nicely on og switch hardware" then you really have rose tinted goggles for the tegrax1.
This will be another year brewing as well so that gives people with even the strictest of budgets time to start putting away some cash every month to save up for the new hardware.
As for the switch 1 selling more than the PS2 lifetime, 2 things about that 1. it most likely already has and 2. Nintendo / shareholders couldn't give a flying Fuecoco about the PS2. It's about the future not the past.
@jarack yeah I'm a much bigger fan of one passion project being turned into the ultimate version of what people enjoy.
Compare this to what Minecraft turned into with Minecraft stories, Minecraft dungeons and the Minecraft cinematic universe. I would have been far happier to just see Minecraft evolve and be improved rather than shoddy Diablo clones
For anyone thinking this price is "pure greed" or so, go and take a look on your local ebay versions for a genuine copy of either of these games and see what real greed is.
Also... it's €20, I'm sorry but that's less than 2 hours of minimum wage work in most countries, this shouldn't really break anyones bank. You'll pay more for a big mac meal and milkshake in McDonalds
Everyone should take a minute to give thanks to the vocal online minority who will absolutely not buy this and probably do not even own a Nintendo system but still go into every thread about new NSO games added to comment "I'm not buying a sub to rent these games, I want to pay and own them instead"
@SalvorHardin the running challenge in 2026 is for people to read half a headline on an article and then make a Nintendoom post about what they think they read.
Still holding off playing Doom Eternal on Switch in the hopes it gets a SW2 version, I played through 2016 already on the Switch very early on in the systems life and loved it, but feel now it would be silly to go through the second game when the update should be around the corner.... any day now.... just you wait guys.... you''ll see.
I feel this concept could have been shown to any online forum as a test group and we would all have ironed out some of this awful looking things basic problems.
@Dimjimmer neither is the best option for me here, I've zero nostalgia feelings for Rayman and even less interested in anything in the history of "what made Ubisoft the company it is today" my main guesses for that would be some form of bullying or childhood trauma the CEO has been a victim of
@Ploppy aye, I've still got my copy of asphalt on the ds around here somewhere.
I'll be honest and say I love asphalt on the switch and have played it so much over the last number of years that my game no longer tracks time (switch can't measure above 9,999 hours played) but at the same time I also hate the way the company handles so many events so poorly, but I'm just a sucker for punishment and can't stop collecting cars.
Used to have a YouTube channel pretty much all about it under the same name as I have here 😅
@JJtheTexan there are a ton more in game currencies than at launch now to make it harder to know what things actually cost and impossible to ever get a refund if things go wrong as Nintendo rightfully will say that your money got you the in game currency even if the in game currency got you nothing.
The switch 2 version launched yesterday btw and they forgot to make the legend pass available on the store so anyone who actually played this yesterday put themselves at a big disadvantage playing it without as you'll have earned less LP points from the missions.
Animal crossing switch 2 version finally getting some love all weekend, I set my switch date and time back to when this new version dropped and been time traveling like a galafrian on steroids every few hours, apologized to all my long lost villager friends, killed all the roaches in my house, finally paid off my house loan last stage and now after so many years of playing and doing random stuff have tried to get my ADHD ass into gear to organize a concert.
Also as Valentine's is this weekend played the game of that with my partner, went for a lovely meal last night at the venue we got married 🥳
@EarthboundBenjy really awful to read that email responding saying that support is already done on day one effectively.
That's one thing I would recommend to you though.... Never buy/support Ubisoft on day one, their products are almost always bug filled releases or get massively reduced in price within days/weeks of release. If buying their stuff I wait for the bargain bin reductions because realistically that's where their products belong.
@Angelic_Lapras_King that's a real other bad thing with Ubisoft games, that "waiting till it's 5e" time period is normally just a couple of months, their games hold value like milk.
I don't have anything against sales but I do feel that some companies make a fool of early supports by reducing their titles price immediately after launch.
@snil4 I actually rather code in a box to these, simply because the switch has one cart port. Really want to get street fighter 6 on the switch but Capcom insist on only reducing the base game in sales but the retail gck is now available for like 40e but will fill my slot.
@UpsideDownRowlet post absolutely had me reading it in the voice... Damn you.
Regarding cabinets like this, a venue will absolutely consider the price acceptable if it brings more foot traffic in, it's not even about if a few people actually load euros into this machine, but if it sways a group to drink for an evening in a bar/ barcade then it will bring in hundreds in a single night.
@stephenstig around 150 people in the poll here voting this same thing, hope this shows other devs that some titles on the switch 1 getting a nice switch 2 lick of paint will get them a few more fans.
Would think that a lot of people probably had hollow Knight in their wall of unplayed shame but after getting a free switch 2 upgrade to this might continue on to purchase silksong after completing the first game. That's the path I'm on right now at least.
@Wewewi dear me I actually went to the bother of reading your comments in that other thread which include multiple incorrect statements and wording. Also the use of the word "betterer".
But your comment which included " My poor reflexes are what they are, but 60hz is ~16ms latency, while 120hz is 8; that's not rocket science. 8 frames is actually kind of a lot in this game. There are obviously other factors at play, but the lesser the betterer." Seems to heavily suggest that 8ms latency is a difference of 8 frames. If there was 1 frame per MS you know that means a game would be running at 1,000fps.
Genuinely looking through that other thread 2 different people question your wording correctly and you take them to be wrong, then you move that to another thread and continue the thought process of "all people on here are wrong " maybe take a step back and think it could be people questioning your wording/comments for a reason.
@Max_the_German when thinking back to the super Nintendo days, don't forget about the games like Doom, starfox, super fx racing or populous, I finished those on that system and at times double digit fps wasn't happening in them.
All systems have limits, heck even the SNES had loading in the decompression part of street fighter alpha before each fight.
Played the demo and really enjoyed it, strong secret of mana vibes but have to say... 30 years ago mana did the weapon wheel around the character which was so much better than the swapping here, only having 2 slots for items is worse than Zelda 64... Heck it's the limit that was in Zelda links awakening and that was on a system with 2 buttons.
Found they've snookered themselves a bit with difficulty and damage, you've got what... 9 hearts and the boss has a move that unless you immediately get on a Lilly pad will hit you for 5-6 of them.... So you will die, but then you can just stand back up for 20rupees , obviously balance needs working on there.
@Wewewi Yeah sorry I don't live in your head so I'm not sure of what argument you were talking about where someone else misunderstood you... as a result of that I misunderstood you.
Maybe there's a running theme. Maybe in another topic you'll make a comment about me not understanding you here and someone else will question that.
This games demo didn't just make me want to play pragmata but now after seeing how good the switch 2 handles the RE engine this makes me look forward to playing re 7/8/9 on the system and hope that the remakes of 2 and 3 find their way into the little beast.
@BleakStuff lol at the 3 paragraphs, was thinking the same and I just scanned over it to see him explaining himself for not buying a ps5pro, even in a fantasy that no one cares about he's having to make budget cuts.
@Wewewi the reviewer talks about how the boss fights felt better and more possible with this version even though they didn't quite think there was a difference.
The game running at 120fps will objectively make it better, doesn't even matter what you "think" about the change, when you press a button in a game running at 60 then there's 60 time slots per second that input can fit into, at 120 there are double, this is simply a fact, even if people play this version on a 60hz monitor the switch internally will open up those extra frames and allow input to be sent by the player technically in between the frames they're seeing, it will feel better even without looking better.
This reviewer is not saying that 60fps and 120 makes no difference and is not something he can take advantage of.
Can we just all take a minute to appreciate the great showing from Activision and their legally obligated Call of Duty port on the Switch 2? It really was amazing to see it run so well on Nintendos handheld. It's a good thing there was no breach of trust by them creating a monopoly allowing Microsoft to purchase that brand.
More games is always a good thing to see revived, Hamster have been very solid with their handling of all the arcade games from what I've seen... Just still here though... holding out for that one Thursday which drops Tumblepop, that week I will comment in the what I'm playing this weekend. ALL WEEKEND.
Was pretty sure this wouldn't be supported based on how the Labo doesn't actually fit around the Switch 2 main unit. I know the VB games are also coming to the Switch 1 but ya know... gotta be looking forwards not backwards. I get it.... not the VB though, have enough headaches as is.
@Hordak You put a thing that's the shape of a cartridge into the cart slot and the game downloads the data onto your SD card to play it, imagine it's a normal game cartridge which needs a big patch, the thing is the patch is all the data.
The idea behind them is fairly cool it allows publishers to cheaply put games on store shelves without having to take the hit of the storage cost or pass that onto the purchaser and it's better than a digital in a way because you can easily take the cart out of your system and give it to someone else and they can go through the same process (obviously the game data on your Switch system will not launch without the card key in your cart slot).
It's a cool idea really just people act up like it's the end of the world, some people I swear just want to up their post count on sites like this so you'll see EVERY.SINGLE.ARTICLE. With pointless comments of "I hope this isn't a card key" or "I woulda bought this if it wasn't a card key" where the reality is they would never have purchased the software anyway because no one is daft enough to not play a game because of the media that the files are stored on, or if they are then power too them, they enjoy the object more than the game. Maybe better off then to go to a landfill and just dig up a pile of Atari 2600 ET carts, those are solid objects you can hold and they have code on them.
@JR150 If you did link to a Hi-Res account then it is possible to download the game on PC and you should have access to all of your unlockables from the Switch game / Seasons and such, I did it when they closed down the Switch one version and confirmed all my unlocks were there, but I never really got into playing it on the PC, fairly low spec required if you have any form of PC with a graphics card it would probably be able to play it, if you were really keen to get back into some Paladins action.
It's a shame for Nintendo really, I think over the last few years I've bought maybe 4-5 pairs of these vouchers and often ended up using them for 1 great game I wanted... and using the other one just before it expired to buy something meh which often would have been reduced to 40e during the year anyway.
This just closes an avenue for Nintendo to get money from their customers so I 100% do not understand the logic.
Consider this... how many people over the lifetime of the Switch 1 bought a pair of vouchers and allowed one of them to expire? That's literally your customers giving you €100 for one game and you want to move away from that model, crazy.
But the paid advert on this site said it was better than MKW and it was cross platform so that surely meant the massive market of mascot kart racing fans on the PS4/5 and Xbox series systems would all stop playing Call of Duty and Fifa to check this out.
Real shocker there that it didn't outsell Mario Kart, really thought it had a chance this time, especially after the initial advertising directly challenged MK and tried to paint it as inferior for being limited to one platform play.
Pretty awesome that if you have the nso controllers for the megadrive and SNES you'll (hopefully) have no issues playing these games with their exactly original controls. Looking forward to this.
Will definitely be picking this up, the original game on Switch 1 was lovely and tbh don't forget we've got Star Fox 64 in the N64 library that you can jump into as well for the absolute best the starfox universe ever had to offer imo.
@the_beaver the game is also on like.... Season 23 or so the last time I checked, obviously none of which would be on the original cartridge. This as a physical cart would be effectively as useless as a game key card.
On topic though, that's pretty cool I played most seasons except for this one as I had a lot of other games to play, might download the update over the weekend and play some games though, definitely will tbh
In terms of GC games that can be played on the Switch, the TY Tasmanian tiger games 1-3 were originally on the GC and are now playable on the Switch. Those are pretty decent 3d adventure games, generic Aussie Mario knock off, remember enjoying the first 2 games back in the day on the GC.
wants the show with the first female captain lead or the first African American lead.
Just stop and look across the bridge of any Enterprise, even on Kirks ship you have people from across the globe working together back in a time when that was sacrilegious to televise.
Trek was always "woke" and that's a good thing. Only recently have people tried to tie negative feelings towards diversity.
@charliecarrot That's a very cool way to put it , thanks for the explanation of why, makes sense, I guess I just have a folder in my Switch of "complete" games where I drop in the games if I've beaten them but I can absolutely see the appeal in a shelf of them you can see when you're away from the system.
@shonenjump86 @Morsel I've been playing Pokemon Z-A a lot, I'm 45 hours in, have been running all over collecting the colorful screws, have every Mon from the first 13 wild zone things but... I just hate the controls of battle, it feels like there's something I'm missing? Having to hold the lock on button all the time and then the enemy pokemon uses something where they become untargettable for a second and your Mon just stands there taking hits, I am a sucker for Pokemon and am pushing through this but I really feel like the controls with holding to lock on to even be able to see your Pokemons moves is so counter intuitive, Also with the questions, finding myself inside in a wild zone just throwing pokeballs at everything and then emptying out boxes of the same mon just to get the side quests done and move towards the shiny charm, doesn't feel in the original spirit of catching Pokemon and training them... feels more like Pokemon go but instead of converting them to candy I'm just releasing them for nothing.
as for what I'm playing this weekend, same as always for me with Asphalt Unity (9 Legends) on Switch and Pokemon ZA, tomorrow a friend was going to call here and we plan to play PSO episodes 1 and 2 on the Gamecube in splitscreen

@The21zonz fairly sure links awakening did that a long time ago when it comes to Switch re-releases.

Re: Nintendo's Share Price Drops 11% Following Its Financial Release
Do you guys ever read a post and you're like.... Damn that's some funny satire.... And then you read more and it's like....
Damn, they're serious.
Damn. 😐
Re: PSA: Apex Legends Switch Version Shutting Down This August
@JR150 If you did link to a Hi-Res account then it is possible to download the game on PC and you should have access to all of your unlockables from the Switch game / Seasons and such, I did it when they closed down the Switch one version and confirmed all my unlocks were there, but I never really got into playing it on the PC, fairly low spec required if you have any form of PC with a graphics card it would probably be able to play it, if you were really keen to get back into some Paladins action.
Re: Reminder: Today's Your Last Day To Buy Switch Game Vouchers
Re: Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds Fails To Meets Sega's Expectations
But the paid advert on this site said it was better than MKW and it was cross platform so that surely meant the massive market of mascot kart racing fans on the PS4/5 and Xbox series systems would all stop playing Call of Duty and Fifa to check this out.
Real shocker there that it didn't outsell Mario Kart, really thought it had a chance this time, especially after the initial advertising directly challenged MK and tried to paint it as inferior for being limited to one platform play.
Re: Disney Afternoon Collection Pops Up On Switch 1 & 2 eShop, Includes Two Additional Games
Pretty awesome that if you have the nso controllers for the megadrive and SNES you'll (hopefully) have no issues playing these games with their exactly original controls. Looking forward to this.
Re: FUR Squadron Phoenix Brings All The Star Fox Vibes To Switch Next Month
Will definitely be picking this up, the original game on Switch 1 was lovely and tbh don't forget we've got Star Fox 64 in the N64 library that you can jump into as well for the absolute best the starfox universe ever had to offer imo.
Re: PSA: Switch 2 Visual And Performance Improvements Included In New Rocket League Update
Re: Every Nintendo Switch Online GameCube Game On Switch 2, Ranked
In terms of GC games that can be played on the Switch, the TY Tasmanian tiger games 1-3 were originally on the GC and are now playable on the Switch. Those are pretty decent 3d adventure games, generic Aussie Mario knock off, remember enjoying the first 2 games back in the day on the GC.
Re: Super Mario Bros. Wonder + Meetup In Bellabel Park Arrives On Switch 2 In March
@Yosher Yeah was thinking the same, I love the graphics of nabit but don't want to play in no damage mode.
Re: Star Trek: Voyager - Across The Unknown Beams Onto Switch 2 Next Month
@BLAZINOAH
Just stop and look across the bridge of any Enterprise, even on Kirks ship you have people from across the globe working together back in a time when that was sacrilegious to televise.
Trek was always "woke" and that's a good thing. Only recently have people tried to tie negative feelings towards diversity.
Re: PSA: Switch Game Vouchers Won't Be Sold After January 2026
@charliecarrot That's a very cool way to put it , thanks for the explanation of why, makes sense, I guess I just have a folder in my Switch of "complete" games where I drop in the games if I've beaten them but I can absolutely see the appeal in a shelf of them you can see when you're away from the system.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (10th January)
