Re: Xbox Is Reportedly Having "Very Big Discussions" About Exclusivity

Stormcloudlive

@Questionable_Duck all I can really answer to this is that I'm sorry you feel that way and that you are worried about the future of your digital library, taking a look at your comment history on here and how you frequently post about what "all Nintendo fans say" etc. I'm gonna go ahead and say... maybe the site you are on and look for something more Xbox centric if you don't want to hear views that you're not a fan of. Not telling you to leave or so, feel free to remain here, just that you might hear more like minded people on an xboxlife site. Due to all of your posts being xbox related and about how certain games cannot run on other systems because they were originally created for an xbox I'm gonna go ahead and opt not to see your posts in the future! No offense it's just they're not ever a. Nintendo related b. reality.

Re: Xbox Is Reportedly Having "Very Big Discussions" About Exclusivity

Stormcloudlive

@darylb24 saying that I want them to do a Sega isn't saying I want them to close and stop being competition, Microsoft market choices stopped them being a competitor in the same way the Dreamcast was not really competition against the PS2, Sega were their own worst enemy towards the end of their hardware years and Microsoft are the exact same, they have so much software ips under their belt but have now tied it to a completely dead hardware brand that no one wants. If they properly dump the hardware and move to supporting PC , PlayStation and Nintendo it would be in everyone's best interests. The fact that this is a Nintendo site doesn't mean reality is different, the fact that you'd close your eyes and wish that it was Nintendo fans fault that the Xbox is underisable isn't because of "fanboy blindness" from this site members. That's reality.

Wishing that Microsoft close down support of other platforms and keep producing non appealing hardware only hurts the brand in reality.

Re: Xbox Is Reportedly Having "Very Big Discussions" About Exclusivity

Stormcloudlive

In all fairness if MS had done a Sega a few years ago all of gaming would be in a better place today. The only reason the brand has any importance is because they were allowed to buy studios who made good games in the past, honestly look at all the big studios they purchased and think what they've done with them other than trying to milk minecraft and cawadooty for every cent they can to get back some of the billions spent. As a standalone brand for creating new things.... they're done, for over a decade and about 10 versions of forza.

Re: Street Fighter 6's Next DLC Character Joins The Battle In May 2026

Stormcloudlive

@atepa It sounds so daft but if you can find a brick and mortar store who has a new copy of SFVI on the Switch 2 then you might be able to get that year1/2 pass cheap.

I bought the physical version of this game just because it comes with a download code for the DLC along with a Gamecard key which allows access to the software, but I just traded in the GCK to a local retailer here who deals in second hand games and I used that cash to buy the digital version of SFVI when it was on sale for €20, I think in total I ended up paying around 30euro for the game and all the dlc digitally but took some hoops.

TL:DR The physical version contains a GCK and a Code for the Addon DLC year1/2, can find it cheap and sell the GCK to someone else, keep the dlc

Re: "It's Truly Baffling" - Shigeru Miyamoto Comments On The Mario Galaxy Movie's Critical Reception

Stormcloudlive

@Mike1 Aye, tbh it's just down to if the viewer enjoys it and if it serves the purpose for existing. I see the Mario movies as being nice easter egg hunts for fans of the series and for kids/adults it's going to be the weekend entertainment for a group to keep everyone happy for the day.

No one expects citizen Kane when they buy a ticket to Minions 9: Can't stop Minioning but they get what you pay for.

Also I'm sure all the stakeholders are going to think long and hard what some online critics said thought about the plot and definitely not look at the literal billions of dollars these 2 movies have made.

Re: Preview: 'Yoshi And The Mysterious Book' Is More Than Just A Pretty Face

Stormcloudlive

@TheBigK Just complete Yoshi's Island on the NSO app 100%, damn that game is still great.

Still though, crafted world was incredibly fun to play as well just a very different kind of warm fuzzy fun. I'll be getting this one as well and accepting that it probably won't give me the same rush as running along Pochy over lava or getting high on spores in the Original, but I'm sure Nintendo will deliver.

Re: Feature: "A Huge Balancing Act" - Playtonic Spills The Beans On Yooka-Replaylee's Massive Switch 2 Update

Stormcloudlive

@Sonicka Just wanted to say a thank you for this explanation of the newer title, I had missed that info about it and when I played the demo of replaylee I was a bit confused about the intro talking about their arrival as a retrospective of what happened, but since it had been years since I played the first game I just figured I had misremembered how it started. That's awesome to hear but I will still stick to my plan of finishing the first game but then come back and play through replaylee down the line.

Thank you again for the info.

Re: Feature: "A Huge Balancing Act" - Playtonic Spills The Beans On Yooka-Replaylee's Massive Switch 2 Update

Stormcloudlive

Gotta say this does look lovely on the Switch 2, I tried out that demo for the S2 version of the game but..... I then said I would compare to the S1 version of the original release and I was reminded that I'm mid way through the playthrough of that and sitting at 41 pagies which you can't transfer your progress over so I opted that I wouldn't buy the S2 version of Replaylee in this case instead I will aim to just complete the Switch 1 version at a point. Lack of save data transferring forward I would imagine could cost them some sales here.

Re: Ditch The Dock With Brook's New Switch 2-Compatible HDMI Converter

Stormcloudlive

@disappointedMii You created an account on here just yesterday to make a comment that you can't believe that Nintendo used the same design of dock.... that sold with over 150 million Switch 1 units?

I mean... maybe they also should have second guessed the whole project and instead went and created a Gamecube 2 or aim to copy the great Xbox Series X success?

The whole design and creation of the Switch 2 with the sameish dock and aiming for backwards compatibility with the Switch 1 software so much was so that customers would continue to love the System which has been a roaring success for the last 9 years.

Re: Overwatch Lands On Switch 2 Tomorrow, Will Be 60fps Both Handheld And Docked

Stormcloudlive

Played a few games of it there after a 32gb download, gotta say that is pretty awesome to see on the Switch 2. Would maybe disregard the comments of someone who just made an account on here 6 hours ago to post but that's just me. It's a F2P game though so you lose nothing by downloading and trying it out. For new players as there's a few questions in here, pick someone like Soldier 76 to begin with, easily one of the most cookie cutter FPS shooter characters you have out there, or if you want to try and be a tank Reinhardt has a big hammer and a giant shield, doesn't get too complex with him.

(if you wanna try healing a team start with someone like Lucio who just has an area of healing around him that just means you need to hang close to your team and you can focus mostly on shooting and avoiding damage.)

Re: Monolith Soft Talks Up Ganondorf's "Alluring Charm" In New Interview

Stormcloudlive

The Tears of the Kingdom Ganondorf was amazing, like they say he wasn't traditional big and brutish but seeing his first encounter with Link and the Master Sword in ToTK was actually chilling. Wasn't just "that bad man is at it again link" being narrated to you, you got to see how he handled the Hero of Breath of the Wild.

The way they made him move also in that game added so much to it, the man is obviously heavy due to his massive size but his muscles and balance move him as though he didn't have weight, even in the final battles with him refusing to be knocked off his feet, unnatural and chilling.

Re: Picross S Konami Antiques Edition Features Castlevania, Contra, And More

Stormcloudlive

Currently playing through Doraemon and F Characters edition of Picross and I have to say, it's my least fav by far of all the Picross games on Switch, the puzzles are almost all just faces from the show all of which are drawn in such a similar fashion it means most puzzles are incredible similar.

The Sega Megadrive one was a million times better because of all the different pixel sprite work.

Re: Multiple Switch Games Receive Switch 2 Compatibility Fixes

Stormcloudlive

Bioshock 1 remastered still no mention of it having issues or a fix but the game is actually pretty unplayable on the Switch 2 system, the framerate is wildly inconsistent and will make you feel motion sick before you could complete even the first half hour of the game. 2 and Infinite work perfectly, it's very strange.

Re: Switch 2's GameCube App Has Been Updated (Version 1.6.0)

Stormcloudlive

Pretty awesome that the switch 2 core features getting better all the time.

I played a ton of soul caliber 2 at launch and have to say it's now a marked improvement over what was already an impressive emulation experience.

As for questions here regarding "was f zero meant to be this hard?" Yeah.... Having finished that on the original GameCube hardware many years ago, it was that hard even when I had my teenager reflexes and old CRT TV.

Re: Nintendo Switch 2 System Update 22.0.0 Is Now Live, Here Are The Full Patch Notes

Stormcloudlive

@OrtadragoonX was playing Mario Kart 8 deluxe and Smash ultimate for about an hour and a half today and used 17% of a charge from full so... it's not really a battery killer to have boost mode enabled.

Was definitely worth it like.... DAMN is all I can say to how crisp MK8D and Smash looks in handheld now. Also played a small bit of Metroid Prime remastered in handheld, equally impressed with the smoothness of it on that panel now.

Re: PSA: Switch 2 Update Adds Handheld Mode Boost, Here's How To Use It

Stormcloudlive

@westman98 overclock the pixels!

This is awesome, re downloading doom 2016 to rip and tear a level with breakfast.

Do keep in mind that this boost mode is only in handheld play, so anyone saying "this makes switch 2 versions redundant" keep in mind those often offer increased resolution and textures in docked mode, animal crossing which I only really play in docked looks amazing with the sw2 pack applied.

This is quiet a lovely Paddy's day present to wake to!

Re: Sega Drops Another Small Puyo Puyo Tetris 2S Patch For Switch 2

Stormcloudlive

Segas handling of switch 2s games has kinda put me off buying any software from them, last Gen I got a ton of their stuff, now it's full power to support the likes of Konami who dropped an awesome upgrade to the mgs collection out of nowhere.

Would have liked to see the shadow dlc for Sonic generations, seen the s2 version recently reduced in a sale, didn't even bother. I've enough games to ignore them.

Re: Pokémon Pokopia Sales Surpass 2.2 Million Units Globally In First Four Days

Stormcloudlive

@Vyacheslav333 file size for this game is 6.2gb btw

It's hardly going to put a dent on the in built storage but it's tiny compared to final fantasy and WWE which came out recently both hit 100gb

As for pokopia, delighted for it and it's fans, my better half has been enjoying it daily since launch. I just don't have the time for it right now with so many other games in my backlog. Metroid prime 4 is getting started this weekend 🥳

Re: Pokémon Pokopia's Early Success Causes A Surge In Nintendo's Share Price

Stormcloudlive

@Duncanballs I just saw it as a time saving exercise. The person will never buy a Nintendo system yet appears in every article to talk about what Nintendo should do to rival his PS5, it's fine for someone to like a brand that isn't Nintendo, during previous generations I was an x360 fan and then ps4, but I would never expect a company to warp what they do to please me. I just pick what I like best, what I don't however do is post 24/7 in PlayStation 5 and Xbox series websites about how the switch is better. Wrong audience all you're going to get is conflict, guess that's why he's here.

Re: Pokémon Pokopia's Early Success Causes A Surge In Nintendo's Share Price

Stormcloudlive

@Duncanballs You know you can return the favour and block him as well then you'll never have to read about the how amazing his PS5 is again. I've no idea what he posted here, blocked him after reading about 3 of those posts.

As for Pokopias success, I mean... it's a mixture of Pokemon, Minecraft and Animal crossing on the Switch 2, it's the gaming equivalent of mixing Heroin and Cocaine, of course it's going to sell a ton. My better half has been playing it since launch, they're torn between this and Animal Crossing Switch 2 edition, their main complaint so far is that there's too much to do in it.

Re: New Survival Game 'Pickmon' Is Just Asking To Be Sued Into Oblivion

Stormcloudlive

They even ripped off "Cow" from Mario Kart World 🙁

This indeed is just a mash of AI genned videos stuck together, that's why there is a lot of inconsistency in it.

Also love how in the Akira bike slide the person vaults off the bike... the bike turns into a bug pokemon.... and then something explodes behind them? Like... was it the guts of the bike? the fuel from the bug leaked out? WHAT EXPLODED?

AI is great though, I hear any day now it's going to cure a disease.

Re: The Super Mario Galaxy Movie Introduces The Voices Of Yoshi, Wart, And The Honey Queen

Stormcloudlive

Strange in the article not to mention Luis Guzmán work as Gomez Addams in the Wednesday Series, that is like... Netflix's most popular series of all time afaik and he is one of the main family cast.

I'm sure this movie will be a smash hit for many demographics, gaming fans, kids, parents who want to keep their kids busy for a weekend. It's an easy win for Nintendo and all involved.

For anyone saying they didn't like X or Y from the first movie, don't forget it made $1.4 billion in the box office so... I'll wager your feelings are not important to Nintendo/Illumination.
