Re: Sonic Frontiers "Definitive Edition" Has Been Rated In Korea

Serpenterror

Sega would remastered almost every Sonic game under the sun except Sonic Adventure 1 & 2. I wonder what vendetta they had with those two games. It's like every time if you ask them about either of those games getting remaster or remake they always reply as if you had just murdered one of their daughter or something. It's never a positive response.

Re: Review: Mega Man Star Force: Legacy Collection (Switch) - A Well-Presented Package Of An Underrated DS Trio

Serpenterror

@Yoshi3 You forgot these 14 other Mega Man games/spinoffs:

  • Mega Man (I-V) Game Boy series
  • Mega Man for Game Gear
  • Mega Man Soccer for Super NES
  • Mega Man: Chase and Battle for PS1
  • Mega Man: Battle Network - Battle Chip Challenge for GBA
  • Mega Man X3 for PS1 (the Legacy Collection only had the Super NES version)
  • Mega Man: The Wily Wars for Sega Genesis
  • Mega Man.EXE for WonderSwan

Re: Rayman: 30th Anniversary Edition Gets First Update Mid-April, Improves Rewind & Saves

Serpenterror

@beartown You just have to not use it then, rewind feature had been on emulator since the dawn of time. The only company that does not use that feature ever on a collection is Nintendo as every one of their collection does not have qol feature like rewind, save-states, and filters. The only few times Nintendo did use it was on their NES and Super NES Mini plug and play consoles or Virtual Consoles otherwise yeah everything else plays just like the original. Collections like the Super Mario 3D All-Stars and the recent release emulated versions of Pokemon Fire Red and Leaf Green will never in this lifetime had those qol features. The only way you will get qol on those is if you play them on an emulator via a non-Nintendo device.

Re: Nintendo Misses Out On Top 10 In Metacritic's 16th Annual Game Publisher Rankings

Serpenterror

Drag x Drive and the Welcome Tour would had been in the green if those were bundle as free software for the Switch 2 instead of been full price garbage. The reason why those are garbage is cause nobody is buying them and they will litter and horde retail space causing an unhealthy atmosphere for shoppers and customers.

The reason for a physical software to not become garbage is to persuade customers to buy them no matter what and charging full price for those are just not the way to do it. I know I would never buy those two awful games in my life time but if those were already bundle with the console, then I at least get something to try. In my life time the only way terrible games like Capcom Fighting Evolution, Final Fantasy II, Wii Sports, Sonic the Hedgehog 1 (I only like Sonic 2 and onward but never part 1), MK Mythologies: Sub-Zero, Super Mario Bros. The Lost Levels, Columns, Zelda II - The Adventures of Link, Street Fighter One and more manage to get to my grasp was cause they were either bundle with good games in a collection or came bundle with the console itself.

I never own single copy of those terrible games: Final Fantasy II, Sonic 1, Street Fighter 1, and Zelda II only exist on my Final Fantasy, Street Fighter, Sonic or Zelda collection only. If it weren't for those collection or bundle I would had never bother buying or even playing them.

Re: Europe Might Be Forcing Nintendo To Revise The Switch 2

Serpenterror

Tbh this should had always been the norm when it comes to handheld. It just doesn't make sense to make batteries unreplaceable in the first place. I own various handhelds in the 90s to the 2000s and all of those allow you to change the batteries with ease. Not sure why the 2010s and 2020s kept making things harder, not smarter.

Re: Sonic The Hedgehog 4's Full Movie Cast List Has Been Revealed

Serpenterror

I'm glad Jim Carrey is returning, I was afraid he would retired and a new actor play Dr. Robotnik. While having an actual overweight actor to portray Dr. Robotnik would make more sense, the overall personality and comedic attitude of the first three film's Dr. Robotnik would be heavily missed so I'm glad Jim is sticking around.

Re: Saudi Investment Firm Acquires A Significant Number Of Capcom Shares

Serpenterror

Yes hopefully this means that crossplay would happen soon for the various fighting collections Capcom released. The Saudi prince is a fan of crossplay and he had friends all over the deserts that he want to play with so having crossplay is a must which is why KOFXV and Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves had crossplay so hopefully we get crossplay for the Capcom Fighting Collection 1 & 2 and the Marvel vs. Capcom Fighting Collection as well.

Re: Chained Echoes Dev Is Filing A Lawsuit Against Physical Distributor

Serpenterror

@Aneira Also add these to that list too:

  • StoneAgeGamer = green flag (probably the best aftermarket partner to buy from with a few high quality product. I bought my Switch GBros., my Genesis and SNES rom dumper, GB/GBC rom dumper, and Action Replay stuff from these guys and had no issue).
  • Retro-Bit = green flag (it's hit or miss at most cause they're cheap, products are low quality and reprints often had issue but you get what you pay for).
  • Play-Asia = green flag (never had any issue with these guys, they knew how to do business and communicate with customers).
  • VGP = yellow flag (it took over a year just to get my copy of Rage of the Dragons Neo, it finally came though).
  • ModRetro Games = green flag (Buck and the Curse Cartridge came faster than I expected it to, these guys are amazing).
  • Bitmap Bureau = green flag and great recommendation too if you just want to purchase the rom and not the physical edition.
  • Skybound Games = yellow flag (It took two years to get Skullgirls: 2nd Encore for Switch back in 2018 but it finally came).
  • WaterMelon/Magical Game Factory = Big yellow flag (could be red flag soon too if their next game is as complicated to preserve as their last one. While Pier Solar I had no issue with, their Paprium debacle makes me trust them even less now. Took forever for my copy of Paprium to arrive and even when it does arrive, I couldn't even easily dump the rom for play on my MegaSD flash cartridge for Analogue Mega Sg. These guys really do not want anyone to preserve their game).

Re: Chained Echoes Dev Is Filing A Lawsuit Against Physical Distributor

Serpenterror

I'm glad he's going after them, they had taken my money but never shipped out anything. The last time they gave me anything was a Steam key for the game, a game which I already got digitally on Steam and Switch anyways. Also for the next physical distributor he should choose either Play-Asia, Pix'n Love, or Limited Run Games. I know not many people like Limited Run Games but they do shipped stuff, they aren't just going to wait for an eternity on those unlike this First Press scamming company.

Re: Review: Fatal Frame II: Crimson Butterfly Remake (Switch 2) - Great Atmosphere But Never Quite Comes Into Focus

Serpenterror

It's a good remake but the fact that it's a game key card means I would only limit to buying this on Steam and nowhere else. For third party titles, that's where my gaming future will be at sadly. Switch 2 is just for my Switch 1 games and Nintendo only games, provided they put all their future games on game key card as well then they may as well lose me as their customer.

Re: The Super Mario Galaxy Movie Introduces The Voices Of Yoshi, Wart, And The Honey Queen

Serpenterror

@a1904 Cause Illumination is an American animation studio so of course it make sense to cater this to American first. Besides the movie itself would be dubbed by different voice-actors in other regions too. Japanese, French and Spanish will have their own voice dubbed version while third world countries like SEA, South Korea, Taiwan, Brazil, and the Middle East would just take one of those dubbed and add subtitles to them instead.

Re: Capcom Celebrates Resident Evil 30th Anniversary With Multiple Announcements

Serpenterror

It's Resident Evil's 30th Anniversary and you announce nothing for it Capcom? All you gotta do is announce a Resident Evil Legacy Collection that includes RE0, RE1, RE2, RE3 Nemesis, RE Code Veronica X and RE4 for Switch, Switch 2, PS4, PS5, Xbox, and PC and that's all. That's enough for an anniversay but instead you announced a collab with a theme park, an arcade light gun game that hardly anyone would get to play, a musical that no one had the money to attend, and a bundle that's digital only and will be gone by the time people actually had money??? How is this a celebration Capcom? If anything it looks like the mass Resident Evil fans are missing out more than they are celebrating. Also why do this early in the year, why not choose a more fitting month for RE's anniversary celebration like say October 2026 perhaps?

Re: Review: Pokémon FireRed & LeafGreen (Switch) - Red-Hot Nostalgia In A So-So Wrapper

Serpenterror

@Tarpii It's not Nintendo's say on how to re-release these games. At the end of day Nintendo is just the publisher, not the developer. It's likely this is how the Pokémon Company wanted these games to be release in. They are not doing what the modding community is doing cause they are selling a product, not polishing said product to the point of the game losing its purpose. Remember it's purpose is to sell you two old games that are remakes of two older games that you probably won't buy anyways. It was release for attention purpose and to persuade new players to get into the newer Pokémon games but trying these older ones.

Re: Review: Pokémon FireRed & LeafGreen (Switch) - Red-Hot Nostalgia In A So-So Wrapper

Serpenterror

Although these are lazy ports, at the very least they did make some changes to a few things that make sense once the online stuff comes along. Also it's the closest thing to a GBA VC we got at the moment for Switch right behind Shantae Advance: Risky's Revolution, Double Dragon Advance, Ninja Five-0, Mortal Kombat Advance, Gekido: Kintaro's Revenge, and Mega Man Zero, and Battle Network and maybe Rayman Advance (had the music not get ruin).

Re: Marvel Maximum Collection Revives Six Classic Superhero Titles On Switch

Serpenterror

@Andee9001 When I mention the Punisher I mostly refer to the ones that were not the beat em up such as the NES and Game Boy versions which are more shooter based. Yes like Aladdin, Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, Batman Returns, Shadowrun, Home Alone, and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turles: Tournament Fighters, Punisher is one of those games that had the same name on multiple systems but all are actually different games.

Re: Marvel Maximum Collection Revives Six Classic Superhero Titles On Switch

Serpenterror

Awesome but where's The Amazing Spider-Man, Avengers in Galactic Storm, Spider-Man: Return of the Sinister Six, The Uncanny X-Men, X-Men for Sega Genesis, X-Men 2: Clone Wars, X-Men: Gamemaster's Legacy, Punisher, The Incredible Hulk, Iron Man / X-O Manowar in Heavy Metal, X-Men: Mutant Apocalypse, X-Men: Mojo World, and Marvel Super Heroes in War of the Gems?

Also all new music? Please don't be like Rayman 30th Anniversary, give us option like how Ultra Street Fighter II and Trials of Mana did.

Re: Mini Review: Rayman: 30th Anniversary Edition (Switch) - Nicely Orchestrated But Misses A Key Note

Serpenterror

I don't get why whenever company release compilation or games from the GBA library they always used an outdated emulator that can't stable the framerate or don't know how to turn those frame buffer off. All you had to do was go to the emulator setting, go to frame skip and turn the number to 0 or Off instead of Auto (or whatever number is there). Putting that crap on Auto will unstable the framerate. If you can't do your job of offering decent emulation of the game then at least give players the option to set the option themselves.

Re: Fans Are Asking Nintendo To Refund Xenoblade Chronicles X's Switch 2 Upgrade

Serpenterror

This is why the Switch 2 is garbage and why this next gen is also garbage. Nintendo is taking the lazy route now. You had to realize they are greedy, lazy, and now they even sell you fake games. You aren't getting value in gaming like you use to. This is why I end my home gaming journey with the Switch 1 and go all PC from now on. The Switch 2 to me at this point is just a Switch Pro for my Switch 1 games, if it weren't for that I wouldn't had bought it. Other than Donkey Kong Bananza, FAST Fusion, Rune Factory, and Cyberpunk 2077, I hadn't even buy any other Switch 2 games at all and why should I when there's more fakes than value. As for this lazy filter smear version of Xenoblade Chronicles X, just don't buy it. Buy the Switch 1 version instead. If they take this lazy way of using filter to upscale old games and make you pay for it, it's likely they'll continue their lazy way and use AI to smear those into their other games too and also make you pay for it. Let's face it people Nintendo are scumbags now. When even the big three are scamming the customers, you know the gaming industry as we know it is done.

Re: Nintendo Seemingly Rules Out Virtual Console Revival, Says It Remains Focused On Offering Classics Via Switch Online

Serpenterror

@RobbEJay Those are exactly what I meant, though you can buy games on the PS3 and PSP shop, you can't play those same games on PS5 cause the PS5 shop only sold games that work on PS4 and PS5 hardware. The only exception is if they emulate PS3 and PSP games on those shop. They not like the PC where you can play almost everything (except iOS games) without paying for them or if you choose to pay for the games you want to support.

Re: Nintendo Seemingly Rules Out Virtual Console Revival, Says It Remains Focused On Offering Classics Via Switch Online

Serpenterror

@DollyrotsFan1 The reason they can't do that was cause the Wii U and Switch are different hardware so it would be difficult to keep all the Wii U eShop digital games for Switch. Consoles are unlike PC, for them to keep the Wii U eShop and its games the Switch will have to keep all the same hardware from the Wii U and doing that would add to the cost of the hardware too.
