Re: "It's Heartbreaking" - The Pokémon Company Tech VP Joins Industry In Criticising Microsoft Layoffs

Serpenterror

Looks like Xbox is following in the footsteps of their long dead competitor, Google Stadia. They love to give credit to their workers creating a false sense of accomplishment and then firing them the day after tomorrow from that. This betrayal of creating a false sense of accomplishment only to get rid of your own team will come back to bite Xbox in the rear soon just like how it did Stadia.

Re: Perfect Dark Voice Actor Calls On Fans To Help Series "Survive"

Serpenterror

@Peach64 The thing is Nintendo had a reason why they wouldn't bring those back and it is more than just them not selling. It's the lack of interest and innovation for the series as well. The thing is Nintendo gave F-Zero three chances on the GBA and each entry sell worst than the last. Star Fox is no different. While Star Fox Adventures and Star Fox Assault were okay for their time, Star Fox Zero and Star Fox Guard almost killed the franchise. Even putting the Star Fox crew as guest fighters in Starlink didn't meet expectation for Nintendo which is why Ninty is hesitant to revive either IP.

Re: Switch 2 USB-C Chip Might Be Breaking Compatibility With Third-Party Docks

Serpenterror

Since these issue kept on happening, I guess none of these product makers learn anything from the Switch 1 situation (which had the same issue). Of course the USB-C that Nintendo design for Switch 2 is proprietary which is why you don't make your product using the general USB-C connection. If you're going to make a dock that works with the Switch 2 without issue, get your product approved by Nintendo first like what Hori and PowerA does. Yes the product they make aren't that great either but at least we know those were approved by Nintendo to work okay with their system.

Re: Random: Of Course Helldivers Are Now Calling For A Switch 2 Port

Serpenterror

For those who don't know Sony only published Helldivers 2, they don't own the IP. Helldivers 2 (like Stellar Blade) is 100% own by Arrowhead Game Studios and that studio could port it to any console of their choice once the exclusivity period (which is the end June 2025) ends. Anyways the game is online only so it isn't impossible for Switch 2 to receive a port but it depends if Arrowhead Game Studios are able to create a server for the Switch 2 version.

Re: Nintendo's Ability To Ban Switch 2 Consoles Has Landed It In Hot Water

Serpenterror

@Dhaladog What do people not understand, you're never EVER going to completely stop piracy it's been going on since the days of yore and will continue long after the Switch 2 is all done and dusted, there's always gonna be people wanting to play free games, all that's going to happen is the hackers finding even cleverer ways around all the security, Switch 2 emulation anyone.. can't wait until all the furore about that one kicks off! But anyways back to my main point all that Nintendo can possibly do is take steps in order to mitigate/discourage misuse of the machine without being so bombastic about it all and hurting the innocent consumers.

Nintendo's goal was never about preventing piracy. Their goal is to separate the hackers and their legit customers. It is their way of putting their customers in safety while the hackers get what's coming to them. Think of it this way, online is Heaven and Nintendo is God and the hackers are the sinners. Once you become a sinner then you are separating yourself from God therefore like Nintendo if your system is pirated then are separating yourself from everyone who system were not hack which therefore you are banned from entering online and anything that had to do with online a.k.a. Heaven. The only way you could redeem yourself is to repent to get to Heaven, in the case of Switch 2 repenting is you buying a brand new Switch 2 that was not hack yet (a.k.a. not sin yet) that way you are no longer associated with the banned console (the sinner). If you die as a sinner then you go to Hell, if your Switch 2 die as a banned console then it goes to the equivalent of Hell, the trash.

Re: Microsoft Announces Second Wave Of Layoffs, Over 9,000 Jobs Affected

Serpenterror

This may explain why they don't make their own hardware anymore, it seems that Microsoft is planning to get rid of their Xbox hardware division soon and just had ASUS make all their hardware for them. This may explains why they cancelled their own dedicated Xbox handheld and used ASUS ROG handheld to brand that instead. I don't see any bright future for Microsoft going forward in the console market if all they offered to their customers are just another PC in the market. PC gamers won't bother with it as they don't want to deal with Windows and console gamers won't bother with it as they don't like to deal with Windows either. They may as well called their next console the Microsoft ROG Windows. It would be a sad day when Xbox brand got replaced by the ROG brand.

Re: Nintendo's Ability To Ban Switch 2 Consoles Has Landed It In Hot Water

Serpenterror

@enigmaxtreme Nintendo has every right to stamp down on piracy and unlicensed software, but nuking a system entirely is just overkill. Surely blocking the account linked to the system should be enough? At least give consumers the ability to unblock a system, perhaps for a fee?

It's the same issue with pirated system in general, if someone bought a second hand Switch 2 then that means Nintendo is not responsible for all the pirated contents on that system. Another reason why pirated or hack Switch 2 is block was because it could contain explicit or illegal activities on there. Remember news of a few customers who bought their kids a pre-owned Nintendo 3DS system only to realize that the system contain hundreds of porn photos and videos on the system.

Nintendo had a reason to block hack system off their online service if they found the system is being caught use in illegal activities. This isn't just something that applies to Nintendo Switch 2, it also applies to every console that are sold in the second hand market that at one point had access to an online network. If you are buying a pre-own console in the future just expect that the system you bought will likely come with contents you may not even expected. Heck I even bought a used Wii Mini three years ago that came contain with hundreds of pirated GameCube games on there and while those doesn't brick my system (the Wii Mini is an offline system after all), a majority of the games are pirated titles that doesn't even work properly with bugs and glitches galore.

Re: A Cancelled 'Animaniacs' GBA Game Has Been Rediscovered, And You Can Play It Now

Serpenterror

As a kid in the 90s I was always fascinated by the Animaniacs and love all their games for Super NES, Sega Genesis, and Game Boy. I didn't even know the GBA was gonna have an Animaniacs game, the only one that I know of after the GBA was Lights, Camera, Action! which even though it got a simultaneous release for DS and GBA, the game never made it to North America. Definitely would check this game out.

Re: Of Course Mario Kart World Is Being Review Bombed

Serpenterror

I feel that in one part it's Nintendo own fault for even making it good in the first place and then purposely making it sucks in the next. This is why I never play games online as what you play the first time won't be like what you will play the second time. If Mario Kart World is a live service game then this would be it for the game, luckily the game is not live service so if the online sucks, the offline is still good.

Re: Missed Out On Castlevania Anniversary, Advance & Dominus Collection Physical Editions? Fear Not, As Pre-Orders Have Gone Live On Play-Asia

Serpenterror

@Tasuki I had order stuffs from them in the past and I have never had any issue with them either. Then again the Play-Asia you order from 12 years ago may not be the same as the one right now so give them another chance. I had only order from them the last 9 years til today, the most recent I order from them was the Capcom Fighting Collection 2 and the Marvel vs. Capcom Fighting Collection, both awesome games and both arrive just fine. I was also pre-ordering the Onimusha 2 Remaster from them as well but then Capcom got in the way.

Re: Legendary Fighting Dev Is Hosting Its Own 'Direct' Later This Week

Serpenterror

I know Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls is a collab between Sony and Arc System Works but I had to say Sony is throwing money away if they refuse to release that game on Switch 1 & 2. Unlike Sony's other first party games that's also coming to Switch, there's a ton of Marvel fans that own Switch as well from all the other Marvel games already on Switch like Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3, the Marvel vs. Capcom Fighting Collection, and the many Marvel LEGO games. Not releasing the game on Switch 1 & 2 will just be them ignoring a larger Marvel fanbase. I know of many people who's first Marvel game were either Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3 or Marvel vs. Capcom Fighting Collection on Switch.

Re: Where Are Mario Kart World's Non-Mario Racers? Producer Kosuke Yabuki Has The Answer

Serpenterror

I'm okay with just 1 or 10 non-Mario guest fighters in the game but the rest should just be Mario Kart characters from the main Mario universe (Super Mario, Luigi's Mansion, Dr. Mario, Donkey Kong, DKC, DK64, Legend of Zelda, Kirby, Yoshi's Island/Story/Safari/Cookie, Wrecking Crew, Captain Toad, Panel de Pon, Doki Doki Panic, Rosalina, Wario Land/Ware/Blast/World/Woods, Game and Watch, etc.). Mario Kart needs to stay Mario Kart.

Re: Nintendo's Strict Policy On MiG Carts Is Creating A Problem For Secondhand Switch 2 Buyers

Serpenterror

If you're planning to homebrew your Switch 2 anyways, getting a brick Switch 2 is a non-issue. If you're not planning to homebrew your Switch 2 (honestly I don't get why people would want to considering the thing just launch and modders aren't even familiar with the system yet) just go out and buy it at retailers. Unlike the Super NES, Switch 1, and Wii, finding the Switch 2 isn't that hard, I went to 10 different Walmarts and 5 Targets the past few days and there are like 5-15 of them still in stocks. It's not even that difficult to buy one, I could had bought one but choose not to for the time being.

Re: Random: Don't Like Switch 2's Physical Game Cases? Try Some Cool Cassette-Styled Ones Instead

Serpenterror

While I do like cassette cover cases, my only complaint with those was that like jewel disc cases, they aren't durable and are easily cracked if dropped intentionally or by accident. Heck even if you took care of them very well, the polystyrene materials they were made from deteriorate over time causing them to crack or break by themselves. Long story short, I don't like em.

Re: Japanese Charts: Switch 2 Won't Slow Down, Surpasses 1 Million Consoles Sold

Serpenterror

@SirLink It's not actually region lock though, it just doesn't had option for other languages outside of Japanese. You could still play other regions games on the cheaper Japanese version of the Switch 2, the thing is the moment you turn it on, everything changes to Japanese. On games that doesn't had options for Japanese languages, those will just load up language that is closer to Japanese such as Chinese, Taiwanese, Vietnamese or Korean.

Re: Third-Party Launch Games On Switch 2 Reportedly Sold "Very Low Numbers"

Serpenterror

Three main reasons why this is happening on the scam that was the Switch 2 by Furukawa (and not the legendary awesomeness that was the Switch 1 by Satoru Iwata):

1. Lack of marketing
2. Lazy ports
3. Almost all of them are fake games (Game Key Card)

Not surprising though as they will try anything to be scummy against the customers. They want our money but don't want to give us what we legitimately bought. If I buy something, it's mine forever. I could use and play it whenever I want when I want. I don't need to rely on the internet to play it and if I bought it, it can't be taken away from me like at all. If I buy something and it could be taken away at any point then it's not a product, it's a scam.
