I don't get it, why can't we just play it handheld mode or dock mode instead? Shouldn't the Virtual Boy attachment just be optional like a controller for the other NSO system. If other player want the authentic Virtual Boy experience then they could buy it but most of us just want to run the emulation on a handheld and play it like every other system. We don't want to damage our eyes.
Holy crap I didn't know the Star Force series had this many games. Definitely will get this again. Of the games in this collection I had only play Star Force Leo. I didn't know it had a Dragon and Pegasus version too.
@hYdeks Those needs to be included as they are still part of the MK Legacy. The MK legacy had its ups and downs, if we are going to have the ups then we must also need the downs too. Those other games could come later as a volume 2.
As long as all five arcade games are in there then I'm good. Planning to get the Switch and Steam versions for now but once I get my Switch 2, I'll think about upgrading that later.
I can't believe they ruin the entire trilogy for Switch 2 owners. Already got the first two on Steam so if there's no real physical versions then I'm sticking to my Steam versions instead.
Ha they had an option for 60fps on a Switch game but you gotta play it on a Switch 2 to use it? I like games where you need the successor to take full advantage of the whole game. Reminds me of the Shantae situation where the game got an enhance mode when play on GBA.
Wow for once the PS5 finally beat the Switch even in combined numbers of units sold. Good job. It's too bad Metal Gear Solid Delta is awful and just an old game with nothing new. If you already got the game on the Metal Gear Solid - Master Collection: Volume 1 then you aren't missing anything.
Some of these actually looks interesting and fun especially HYPERyuki: Snowboard Syndicate, The Prisoning: Fletcher's Quest, Katanaut, Talaka, and Tossdown. Hope some of these makes it to Switch.
@Magician ActRaiser Renaissance should definitely get a physical release someday. If that one gets one soon, then it's a day one buy for me. I don't care who distribute it, I take any physical version of that game guaranteed.
I'm glad they are sticking to the 2D isometric style of the original rather than remaking them in 2D HD like most releases nowadays. While 2D HD is nice, games like Final Fantasy Tactics already look fantastic in their own style.
I wonder how long they'll keep Maki, Yun, Eagle, and Ingrid offline. It seems Capcom is trying to find ways to nerf them first so they could be online bound at some point.
@blackice85 I have a suspicion that we might see a (possibly limited) run of physical copies of both remastered games in the future, not unlike the FF7/8 twin pack.
I don't know if you're still active in this website anymore but I just want to come back to say that your prediction of this game is half true now. Star Ocean: First Departure R now had a physical release this year and yes it's a limited release just as you predicted. Only thing is that it's not bundle with its sequel, Star Ocean: The Second Story R.
@SearchingS It's likely they may remake that one next, still with Tri-Ace gone from Square Enix now I doubt a remake of Star Ocean: Til the End of Time would happen and if it does it likely won't have the same magic as the PS2 original.
@HammerGalladeBro This had happen before but only for lesser known games, that's how I got my physical copy of Forgotton Anne via Limited Run Games cause Square Enix never distribute that one themselves.
@Tyranexx The difference between Star Ocean: First Departure R and Star Ocean: Second Story R is that Star Ocean: First Departure R is just a port of the PSP game, Star Ocean: First Departure (which is a remake of the Super NES original) whereas Star Ocean: Second Story R is an HD remake of the PS1 sequel Star Ocean: The Second Story. It was not a direct port of the PSP Star Ocean: Second Evolution (which is also a portable remake of Star Ocean: The Second Story).
Finally, I had being waiting for this game to get a physical release for a long time since Square Enix stupidly never physical release this. This and The Last Remnant Remastered definitely needs some physical release love.
Game looks so awful in those screenshots, likely they are lazy and using AI to generate those graphics. I likely may skipped this remake as I never like Zwei. Sega better to just remake Panzer Dragoon Saga, don't let Forever Entertainment remake that one though.
Terrible news if you already bought the physical edition from Limited Run Games cause if this patch is not release yet then that means the physical edition will ship without this patch included.
Day one buy indeed, this would be my second dipped on this game after getting the Steam version for play on my Sega Genesis that is the Analogue Mega Sg, the Sega Nomad, and Steam Deck.

One of the best N64 action shooter I've ever play back then complete with 4-player split screen death match. Glad to finally have this on NSO. Here's hoping we also get Mortal Kombat Trilogy and Mortal Kombat 4 soon too since the N64 versions won't ever be included in the Mortal Kombat Legacy Kollection.
This game reminds me of Muramasa, Dragon's Crown, and Odin Sphere so I definitely will be looking to get it at some point this year. We do need more Vanillaware style game like this more and I'm glad Shinobi is taking this path as I like those kind of games more than the old Shinobi arcade style.

I'm curious how Sony is gonna do a handheld this time. Will this be what the PS6 is going to become as a hybrid system or will this just be a companion handheld device sharing the same ecosystem as the PS6? Will the handheld be disc based or cartridge cause if it's disc base then compatibility with PS6 make sense though disc media ain't gonna do so well with the handheld nature of the device.
If it's cartridge base then it's likely going to be its own platform therefore Sony will have to divide their development team again in able to support both hardware. If it's neither disc or cart but just digital download only then it being a hybrid handheld make sense but since it won't use physical media it'll probably won't be compatible with PS6 physical games. If all it was is another portable PC then I don't see it doing that well.
As long as it's just an optional feature then it's alright with me. I'm guessing it's just a gimmick feature similar to the Way of the Hadou Mode from Ultra Street Fighter II.
There's nothing Nintendo could do that will ever make me prefer game key card over actual game cartridge. They may remake any greatest game of all time (Ocarina of Time, Mortal Kombat 9, Street Fighter Alpha 2, Sonic 3 and Knuckles Complete, Grand Theft Auto III, Chrono Trigger, Final Fantasy IX, Legend of Dragoon, Super Metroid, Castlevania: Symphony of the Night, WWF No Mercy, Resident Evil: Code Veronica X, Soul Calibur, etc.) on game key card and I still won't buy it.
One reason why I never like digital distribution. Even if they manage to put the game back on the eShop, it won't be the same game, the license music or contents are probably gone.
At this point even if Sony introduced the PS6 with no PS4 and PS5 backwards compatibility, they will still failed to outbeat the Switch 2. It's clear that the Japanese customers ain't gonna move away from their love of handhelds and that's the feature that makes the Switch 1 and Switch 2 super attractive. Unless the PS6 can turn into a handheld, Sony's next gen console is as good as dead already.
Yes this is great news, I was waiting for this for a long time. Now all we need after this are Ys I & II Chronicles, Ys V: Lost Kefin, Kingdom of Sand, Ys VI: Ark of Naphistim, and Ys Seven then that will complete the entire main series (before Ys XI) on Switch.
I wonder why they did not also buy Rayman. That would had been a much better buy than five of those no name IPs. Imagine a Rayman and Bubsy crossover that'll be cool.
I already beat the GBA version of this game and I had purchase the Switch version for my niece to try and she beat it in a week with no issue so I don't get why people complain about the no map situation. Yes it's a Metroidvania-like game but the game doesn't reuse assets that it makes everything look the same, every room and pathway is more distinct and easy to follow so if my niece had no issue finishing it I think anyone won't either. This game is easily a 9/10 for me.
I don't think Nintendo is that in touch with their fan base then again I don't think their so call fan base is in touch with them either as most are just false fans meaning they are not really fans, they only buy Nintendo product to resell and nothing else. Nintendo only succeed this gen cause they made the right move and not compete with the other two. Not only that when it comes to gaming Nintendo is the only one making games with a focus on what matter in gaming such as innovation and creativity whereas the other two focus more on specs and services.
The one thing I do had to give to Nintendo is they don't play around when it comes to business, IPs, and product offerings. You mess with them then they would come after you. When it comes to hardware they are league behinds but makes up for that with the highest quality of games they are producing for it. I say if they never focus on quality they would had go under many moons ago.
I still don't get why they wouldn't include the Sega Genesis version of Ultimate MK3 or the Game Gear version of MKII or the Game Boy version of MK3 and MK4. Those games shouldn't had been that difficult to emulate and both the Genesis and Game Gear games can run on the same emulator. I know all of those sucks but they are still part of the MK legacy.

Re: Rare Arcade Version Joins Two Of The Worst 'Mortal Kombat' Games In Legacy Kollection
