Re: ICYMI: If You Want To Play Virtual Boy Classics, You'll Need To Buy One Of Nintendo's Accessories

Serpenterror

I don't get it, why can't we just play it handheld mode or dock mode instead? Shouldn't the Virtual Boy attachment just be optional like a controller for the other NSO system. If other player want the authentic Virtual Boy experience then they could buy it but most of us just want to run the emulation on a handheld and play it like every other system. We don't want to damage our eyes.

Re: Review: Star Ocean: First Departure R (Switch) - An RPG Nostalgia Trip That's Showing Its Age

Serpenterror

@blackice85 I have a suspicion that we might see a (possibly limited) run of physical copies of both remastered games in the future, not unlike the FF7/8 twin pack.

I don't know if you're still active in this website anymore but I just want to come back to say that your prediction of this game is half true now. Star Ocean: First Departure R now had a physical release this year and yes it's a limited release just as you predicted. Only thing is that it's not bundle with its sequel, Star Ocean: The Second Story R.

Re: Star Ocean: First Departure R Limited Run Physical Switch Release Announced

Serpenterror

@Tyranexx The difference between Star Ocean: First Departure R and Star Ocean: Second Story R is that Star Ocean: First Departure R is just a port of the PSP game, Star Ocean: First Departure (which is a remake of the Super NES original) whereas Star Ocean: Second Story R is an HD remake of the PS1 sequel Star Ocean: The Second Story. It was not a direct port of the PSP Star Ocean: Second Evolution (which is also a portable remake of Star Ocean: The Second Story).

Re: Rumour: Sony Is Gunning For The Switch 2 With A Handheld, Dockable PS6

Serpenterror

I'm curious how Sony is gonna do a handheld this time. Will this be what the PS6 is going to become as a hybrid system or will this just be a companion handheld device sharing the same ecosystem as the PS6? Will the handheld be disc based or cartridge cause if it's disc base then compatibility with PS6 make sense though disc media ain't gonna do so well with the handheld nature of the device.

If it's cartridge base then it's likely going to be its own platform therefore Sony will have to divide their development team again in able to support both hardware. If it's neither disc or cart but just digital download only then it being a hybrid handheld make sense but since it won't use physical media it'll probably won't be compatible with PS6 physical games. If all it was is another portable PC then I don't see it doing that well.

Re: CD Projekt Reveals 75% Of Cyberpunk 2077 Switch 2 Sales Were Physical In Opening Month

Serpenterror

There's nothing Nintendo could do that will ever make me prefer game key card over actual game cartridge. They may remake any greatest game of all time (Ocarina of Time, Mortal Kombat 9, Street Fighter Alpha 2, Sonic 3 and Knuckles Complete, Grand Theft Auto III, Chrono Trigger, Final Fantasy IX, Legend of Dragoon, Super Metroid, Castlevania: Symphony of the Night, WWF No Mercy, Resident Evil: Code Veronica X, Soul Calibur, etc.) on game key card and I still won't buy it.

Re: Japanese Charts: Switch And Switch 2 Hardware Are Both Crushing The Competition

Serpenterror

At this point even if Sony introduced the PS6 with no PS4 and PS5 backwards compatibility, they will still failed to outbeat the Switch 2. It's clear that the Japanese customers ain't gonna move away from their love of handhelds and that's the feature that makes the Switch 1 and Switch 2 super attractive. Unless the PS6 can turn into a handheld, Sony's next gen console is as good as dead already.

Re: Review: Shantae Advance: Risky Revolution (Switch) - A Cool Time Capsule Of A Game

Serpenterror

I already beat the GBA version of this game and I had purchase the Switch version for my niece to try and she beat it in a week with no issue so I don't get why people complain about the no map situation. Yes it's a Metroidvania-like game but the game doesn't reuse assets that it makes everything look the same, every room and pathway is more distinct and easy to follow so if my niece had no issue finishing it I think anyone won't either. This game is easily a 9/10 for me.

Re: Former PlayStation Head Praises Nintendo For Being "In Touch With Their Fan Base"

Serpenterror

I don't think Nintendo is that in touch with their fan base then again I don't think their so call fan base is in touch with them either as most are just false fans meaning they are not really fans, they only buy Nintendo product to resell and nothing else. Nintendo only succeed this gen cause they made the right move and not compete with the other two. Not only that when it comes to gaming Nintendo is the only one making games with a focus on what matter in gaming such as innovation and creativity whereas the other two focus more on specs and services.

The one thing I do had to give to Nintendo is they don't play around when it comes to business, IPs, and product offerings. You mess with them then they would come after you. When it comes to hardware they are league behinds but makes up for that with the highest quality of games they are producing for it. I say if they never focus on quality they would had go under many moons ago.
