Re: Microsoft On Its Gaming Business Going Forward: "We Want To Be Everywhere"

Serpenterror

At this point Microsoft are not going the way of Sega, nope not even close. Instead they are going the way of NeoGeo. Like NeoGeo they had the most expensive hardware and they not only make games for that expensive hardware but also porting those games to other competitor's hardware too. Also like NeoGeo which is giving gamer arcade accurate gaming at home, Microsoft is giving PC accurate gaming at home. The similarity is obvious now.

Re: Shigeru Miyamoto Is Confident Mario Will Be Around For "A Long Time To Come"

Serpenterror

The real truth is that will future Mario games still retain its quality even after Shigeru Miyamoto retired? If there's any time for Miyamoto-san to seek a protégé to handle the Super Mario series going forward, now is the time. I know Keiji Aonuma took over the Legend of Zelda series and Yoshio Sakamoto took over Metroid for Gunpei Yokoi but we still need someone to take over the Super Mario series for Miyamoto once he decided to retire for good.

@itsapossum I don't think Palworld give a crap about you either once they trick you into their world. The difference between Palworld and Pokémon is that Pokémon knows to redeem themselves if they ever done you wrong, Palworld may succeed right now but once they screw you too, then they screw you permanently. You won't ever get back what you lost once that happen.

Nice to see Nintendo is winning again this week. I had to say Nintendo got their holiday stuff all warm up and ready to go ahead of everyone else this year. It's looking like Switch and Switch 2 holiday is going to be a big win for the House of Mario again. Everything that needs to be ready for the Black Friday and Christmas holiday are already at store shelves right now: Switch 1 & 2 consoles, Pokémon Legends: Z-A, the Super Mario Galaxy Collection, Donkey Kong Bananza, Pikmin 4, soon to release Kirby's Air Rider and Metroid Prime 4 Beyond, Fire Emblem Engage, Mario Kart World and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Complete, Xenoblade Chronicles X, and all the Switch 1 ports of games.

Re: Dragon Quest VII: Reimagined Producer Reckons We're Ready For Its Dark, Sorrowful Story

Serpenterror

@Duncanballs They aren't a scam but they are a scummy move cause they are ruining a tradition that doesn't need to be fix. They allow developer to choose whether to give consumer a product or a counterfeit and most often than not the dev would likely choose the counterfeit cause fake is always cheap. The problem is the fake value doesn't apply to the actual customers, instead the customer still gets the fake product but not the value price in which that fake is apply to. I would understand if they only use game key card for just demo and prototype so gamers could try the game before buying the actual one but to put full games on it just doesn't add up and feels scummy at best. Nintendo's goodwill die after the Switch. Switch 2 going forward is just nothing but greed cause everything from there on will just be smoke and mirror and nothing more.

Re: The ROG Xbox Ally X Receives Glowing Reviews, But It's Still Pretty Pricey

Serpenterror

That thing does look cool but not $1000 cool. With $1000 it must be able to natively play the entire Xbox, Xbox 360, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and Steam library in addition to having an OLED screen, 2tb of storage, 32gb ram, a handle so to be able to play Playdate games naturally, a paddle so to be able to play Pong naturally, and a portable grill oven so I could cook my roasted chicken while I'm playing. Now that's $1000 worth of feature for a powerful hungry player, not this Ally crap which is just another ROG Windows device that'll likely failed once its Tesla style battery explode or get infected by malware in less than 2 years.

Re: Review: Pokémon Legends: Z-A - Nintendo Switch 2 Edition - Stellar Battles, But A Step Down From Arceus

Serpenterror

Even with a more powerful hardware they still suck by not improving anything from Legends Arceus. Either they are too afraid to improve or choose not to. There are no excuse for them this time. This game is lazy at its finest. It's not that the visuals are awful but that the main issue is due to the fact that it still has performance issue even on the $450 garbage that was the Switch 2, heck even the $350 Steam Deck had games that looks and ran better than this. The only hope for this game is if the story is decent, if not it's just a cash grab and not really anything special. Pokemon games hasn't been good since Sun and Moon on 3DS.

Re: Final Fantasy VII / VIII Remastered Twin Pack And IX Switch Physical Releases Confirmed For North America

Serpenterror

@KayFiOS Tbh these games has always had physical releases from the get go, they just were not available in North America. When these games first came out after their Nintendo Direct showing, only Asia and Japan had physical releases of these but those are multi-language release with no tariffs involvement so importing them back then was a non-issue at the time.

Re: Final Fantasy VII / VIII Remastered Twin Pack And IX Physical Releases Confirmed For North America

Serpenterror

While I already got these physical from Play-Asia already, it's nice that they are finally coming to NA in an official capacity. Still at the very least they could had bundle them together into one neat physical package on a single cartridge instead of separating them to two cartridges. All of them together is only 12gb (FFVII is 3.9gb, FFVIII Remastered is only 3.1gb, and FFIX is only 5gb) surely a 16gb cartridge would had work out just fine.

Re: Japanese Charts: Sucker Punch Stops Mario Galaxy Soaring Too High

Serpenterror

@Fighting_Game_Loser Final Fantasy Tactics: The Ivalice Chronicles physical release for Switch 2 in Japan was a code in the box though, not a game key card. The reason why it doesn't sell as well as the Switch 1 version was cause most people would rather just buy the Switch 1 physical release and then use the free upgrade from that for the Switch 2. Those who bought into the scummy Switch 2 physical release were surprise cause there were no game key card message printed on the case like the other ones so those customers who bought it were caught unaware as they were expecting a full game on cartridge, instead it's just a code in a box. Words are already spread and the Switch 2 version will be gone from the chart by next week. They won't be making that same mistake with Dragon Quest I & II though.

Re: Poll: How Many New Games Do You Buy In A Year?

Serpenterror

I mostly try to buy 2-5 new games per year but will get at least 8-12 games (old, new, or retro) during a sales or Black Friday. I also will try to get physical version as much as I could but if digital is all it had at the moment (such as the case with Hollow Knight: Silksong, Fast Fusion, and Onimusha 2 Remastered) then that'll be fine too.

Re: Atlus Rules Out Persona 3 Reload Switch Port

Serpenterror

I still failed to understand why they need to remastered this for Switch 2 so soon. They could had take their time with the Switch 2 version, I mean it's really not that long ago that we got Persona 3 Portable. It's only like two years ago that we got that game.

Re: One Of 2025's Best-Reviewed Games Has Quietly Released On Switch Today

Serpenterror

Anyone with decent knowledge of Japanese might spot that the very game's title translates to 'Protagonist' and that the three main characters are all named Shu, Jin, and Kou.

Interesting, now I know why Mortal Kombat Deception's new main character in Konquest Mode got the name he did. I knew Ed Boon was hiding some secrets about that name.
