Re: Random: Nintendo Switch 2 Welcome Tour Wins GameStop's "Worst Game Of The Year" Award

Serpenterror

This and that wheel chair game should had been free demos that came bundle with the Switch 2. Both are not triple A experience, lack charms and depths that other games had and they don't have replayability features that made you want to return to play them again. With games like Tetris and Wii Sports I could always return to play those as time killer and still had plenty of fun from time to time but these two after I play all that they had to offer, it just never grab me and doesnt had anything exciting to make me want to return for another playthrough.

It's like comparing Super Mario World to Mario is Missing. Super Mario World no matter how many times I beat that game there's always something about the game that made me want to return to it time and time again but Mario is Missing after completing it once I never want to return to play that ever again. Both the Switch 2 Welcome Tour and Drag X Drive are more like Mario is Missing and nothing like Super Mario World.

After ruining Tekken 8, he finally had enough. While I hope he had a bright future in whatever endeavor he is looking for, it's sad that Tekken is in the state it's been. Usually when the main creator of such a franchise leave the company, the series will either turn to crap cause the company doesn't know what to do with the series going further or they'll be like Konami and release nothing new for all their old franchise that no longer had any creators (Castlevania, Goemon, Rocket Knight, Sunset Riders, Fighting Bujutsu, Metal Gear, etc.) but just compilations or remasters one after another. Hopefully this means we'll be getting a whole Tekken Legacy Collection soon or at least more remastered of them for PC, Switch 1 and 2.

Re: Review: Octopath Traveler 0 (Switch 2) - A Bit Of A Retread, But Unmissable (And Enormous)

This game or the Dragon Quest VII remake may be the final ever game I will buy on Switch 1 (and Switch 2 as well if all it has is fake games after fake games). I'll be going full PC and Steam Deck only starting 2026, consoles will be a thing of the past for me. I'll be getting that Steam Machine over a PS6, Switch 2, and whatever the new Xbox will be. Until Nintendo and Sony and all their greedy third parties knows how to make real games again, I probably won't be back and won't be sad if they all fall under either.

Game looks good and all and I'm glad it had a somewhat open world in the game. Only disappointment is that the open world is just a big empty desert, I guess they need that to pad in more hours to the game. For games like this I don't think an open world is needed, just make it exporable and interactive. Also adding an annoying sidekick is just stupid, I know people need a guide to help them play the game but at least have the option to turn those off. If the dude doesn't play a role in the story then kill him off half way so people won't get annoy, if he does then give us an option to shut him up for the rest of the game especially on a second playthrough or something.

Re: UK Charts: Kirby Is Nowhere To Be Seen In A Quiet Week

Serpenterror

C'mon Nintendo should had expected this, doesn't matter how many contents Kirby's Air Rider had, people will still see it as a spinoff and usually spinoffs doesn't do very well in the UK. It's the same story with Sonic Racing CrossWorlds and Crash Team Racing remake, both which never started a franchise. Both are good racings games with tons of contents but they spinoffs and people only see them as filler titles to the main ones. Mario Kart 7 on the otherhands is a totally different perspective as most considered it a franchise Mario Kart game since it too had its own spinoffs. Mario Kart started a franchise whereas Kirby's Air Ride, Sonic Racing, and Crash Team Racing never did which is why those don't sell very well.

Wow somehow the 5-year old Animal Crossing: New Horizons manage to find its way back into the top 10 chart. A rare phenomenon indeed. Also its seems like Sony's cheaper PS5 Digital Edition offering with Japanese as the only language in the human race similar to Nintendo's Switch 2 with the same scheme is actually working, it got to a good start for the time being.

Re: Ongoing MicroSD Shortages Could Have A Knock-On Effect For Switch 2 Storage Availability

Serpenterror

Nintendo limiting the Switch 2 memory card usage to just microSD express card is one of the most stupidest decision in gaming all around especially for Nintendo. I know they want their games to run and load as fast as it could be but c'mon a Switch 2 game still load slower than a Steam Deck game and Steam Deck could use any microSD card. I load Cyberpunk 2077 from my Steam Deck via microSD and the Switch 2 version via microSD Express and the Steam Deck version load way more faster.

My guess is that it's not about speed that Nintendo was concern with when they choose microSD express card as proprietary for Switch 2, it's probably due to preventing piracy or a way to prevent people from easily copying files from Switch 1 to Switch 2. They don't want people to do the simple thing, they want it to make it as complicated as possible for people to transfer data. I also don't like calling these memory cards anymore either, they're just storage cards. If they are memory cards we would be able to save our game files onto them and easily back them up or restore them. Storage cards are card you use to store files or apps in.

Re: Japanese Charts: Konami Rolls Another Smash Hit With Its Momotaro Dentetsu Board Game Sequel

Serpenterror

Welcome back Dragon Quest I & II (I wonder why the fake Switch 2 version didn't return) and Dragon Ball Sparking Zero. Bandai Namco is lucky to have release these for Switch otherwise they wouldn't get more sales from the Switch 1 & 2 audience. Also the PS5 Digital Edition is a waste of plastic, Sony should just discontinued that SKU and sell the base and pro models going forward. Heck the PS5 Pro model is basically just the Digital Edition anyways so having both on store shelves will only going to confuse customers.

Re: Sorry Xillia 2, 'Tales Of Berseria' Is The Next Remaster From Bandai Namco

Serpenterror

Nice, please let the next remake be Tales of Innocence R. It's a crime to leave that one on PS Vita since like the DS original, it too also never got released worldwide. Tales of Xillia 2 like Tales of Symphonia 2 weren't that great anyways, for anyone who play a Tales game, just play the mainline original and avoid the sequel that follows-up, usually the sequel are never good. They reveal more about the world of the prequel but they never go anywhere with the story and the new characters are forgettable. For games like Tales of Destiny, play the original and Tales of Destiny II (which is actually Tales of Eternia) and not the actual Tales of Destiny 2 which was a sloppy follow-up to the original Tales of Destiny.

Re: Random: Steam's Brand New Game Console Sure Looks Awfully Familiar

Serpenterror

Tbh I would rather buy this new Steam Machine console over a Switch 2 any day. At least with this one, you don't have to deal with fake games. Also people need to realize that PC are boxy hardware, that's what they always look like and this Steam Machine is just using that same style. It's literally just a mini desktop tower without disk drives, it's something we modern PC user nowadays called mini PCs.
