Gaming did not turn out the way companies expected. It is fascinating really as no other entertainment industry is expected to hold on to originals and prototypes of everything.

Edit for clarity: (As my comment is being misunderstood when I say everything I mean everything. Obviously some items are kept by both gaming and other industries but not everything. And not keeping everything ever produced is what causes these issues and was not accounted for to be an issue in decades later…how could it have been? Hence why I find this dilemma fascinating. )

Even though this is my favorite VS series I wouldn’t want to see a transition to 3D personally. Would still buy a sequel but 2 is my holy grail.

Gonna focus on the backlog and sales, but got a number of new new games to add to the list.

I don’t get the sentiment that HD-2D is old but then again I don’t get half of the latest controversies in gaming. I like city building but prefer it in games like this rather than full city builders like sim city because I am so bad at it lol. There is a reason I am not the engineer in the family.

I just hope that the multiple hardware skus goes away. Why buy a console at launch when Sony makes a pro and MS an S version? I will just head back to PC.

I am only mad at how quickly the switch 2 disabused me of my “keep using switch” idea. I still gotta set up my OLED but I must say switch 2 is the ideal size for my eye. Makes me wanna play everything. gotta get my TVs set back up sooner than later.

Dev Kits aren't produced at the same rate as the full blown system. Key partners have gotten or lobbied enough cash to eventually get a dev kit. Whatever the application process is, keep applying and in the meantime dev or ask for a switch devkit given the BC. Nintendo is not gonna pass these out like candy. (no hw manufacturer does) PS4 is still getting games so why not dev for switch in the meantime if your game fits?

Personally I’d rather see the big devs/publishers get kits first to ensure we get newer big games. So far Capcom, SEGA and EA (love em or hate em, folks still buy their games) are doing that. (especially as they will be the first to run if they don't meet sales expectations, and the more streamlined the release list is the better chances they have for sales and we have for more support).

FromSoftware is not known for their optimization prowess. Look at reviews of most souls games when they came out. Even on target systems they ran with issues.

Trying to remember if I own the switch version. If not I will get the switch 2 version.

So they are gonna have to update it to death like they did on other consoles…

As usual I take no stock in rumor, but will buy day 1 if this is true (as this has been on my port list since the 2 came out). I just hope there is better DLC than Shattered Space on the way. Let me marry Hadrian, Bethesda!

I liked the 2003 series so I will bite. Can’t wait until the 90’s stuff I grew up with is trendy.

Ok MS. I don’t like Indy but I heard the game was decent (no longer have gamepass) and I want future support so day 1 it is. (And ports I care about)

As for games I actually care about, probably He-Man on deep discount (I watched the 2003 show) and DxM. I would pay a silly amount of money for a She-Ra and the princesses of power game. (Netossa is my Lady!)

I saw a little bit of the direct and I am interested. Although it looks like it takes the parts of Mario Kart I am bad at (drift control and position jockeying) and makes them a focus. Which will be interesting. The roster is a bit bland though.

(also reminds me I have had the original for 15 years and haven’t played it. )

@EarthboundBenjy Azuma is pretty self contained (there are references and characters from RF5 but nothing that requires playing that game) and the combat is snappy, the farming streamlined (this isn’t a bad thing) while adding town management and imo more in depth social aspects. Good place to start without playing the other games.

Had a lot of fun. The end game was a bit of a let down though. But with 70 hours of gameplay…I’m not mad. The ending was kinda wtf though.

@DonutPie Metal Gear Solid Master collection Vol 1 is on Switch. There is no Vol 2. So as of right now Switch players have access to the multiplat rerelease same as other platforms.

At this point for RgG games I just need 5 and Infinite Wealth. I would like the current soul calibur but since 2 is still my favorite and is on switch 2 I’m good. I would like to see more Bethesda games as they are fun for portable. I’m gonna wait out BG3 for another 3 years before I pick it up on PC. Other than that I’m looking at new games and release parity at this point. After Ghost of Yotei I am going back to the “Not on Nintendo, Not in my house” method and winding down my multiplats. Nintendo/PC will see me through the rest of my gaming days. My series x and ps5 library is so small that it no longer warrants buying their successors.

Eh for the complainers, who will complain to anyone that will give them a platform, you have two
options really.

Ignore (be it using the ignore feature or just scrolling past) and focus your comments on the articles. A lot of times the Game Key card folks are either making a preemptive complaint or trying to derail positive conversation anyway so engaging or reading their posts hold no benefit to you. Let them yell into the void if they wish (as it is not as if these comments are being taken into account by Nintendo so they only serve the purpose of being disruptive to other regular people) but no one has to engage or read their responses. The second is don’t engage. Responding means you feed it longer and derail your train of thought. Folks get too hung up in trying to silence others when you simply need to gravitate to engaging conversation and go on with your day.

I think this is the only cult classic I don’t own on gamecube. but I have reached the “eh if I haven’t played it in 20 years I must not care” phase. will play if it hits NSO though. Honestly after moving I am officially done with physical. If I don’t already have it or can’t get it digitally I don’t care anymore.

Eh if the switch 2 lasts as long as switch then this is likely the last physical gen anyway. Or at least the last active physical gen. Kids are lucky. To be able to put their whole library on an sd card or ssd.

lol I don't have a system (that I play rock band on) this is compatible with. Welp my 360 and wii controllers still work.

It is funny how few franchises capcom makes that I actually like and yet they have been one of my favorite devs/publishers for 35 years.

Not a turtles fan anymore but love new tactics games. Gotta finish capes and Engage first.

personally I’d take soul calibur but anything that is not an anime fighter is welcome.

But I am happy to stick with SF and VF and all the other existing fighters on switch family.
