Re: Pokémon Legends: Z-A Unveils A Newly Discovered Mega Evolution

Ryu_Niiyama

I love that I am so behind on Pokemon that all this is brand new to me.

Edit: looked this up. ok I am convinced GF has generational trauma and is making it everyone else’s problem. Also to you jaded Pokemon participants how tf are y'all making fun of the basketball player, iridescent, genius, psychic land walking/floating murder squid?! I’m going back to Nioh where it is safe.

Re: Nintendo And Accessory Maker Genki Reach Settlement In Switch 2 Lawsuit

Ryu_Niiyama

@Coxula It wasn’t a mistake. Genki literally advertised that they would discuss Switch 2 and accessories at CES. Which was before Nintendo’s announcement. And without Nintendo’s approval. (which was what the lawsuit was about.) Which means they had to set up a table and bring product. This was planned. They were banking on having the “inside scoop” to sell more product and boost recognition.

Edit: This is speculation because I don’t work at either company. They are likely still selling accessories because of the contract terms (which also might be part of why they settled. As it has not been proven in court that they breached contract so they can ride the contract out without paying Nintendo more money. ) They may not get a new/future contract though. Chances are they gambled and ended up burning bridges. Other accessory manufacturers will likely swoop in to pick up any slack. Companies do not like having their product details given away/accessed by outside companies without following their guidelines.

Re: Talking Point: Is Hollow Knight: Silksong Too Difficult?

Ryu_Niiyama

I have no hat in this race as I didn’t enjoy or beat Hollow Knight, however I wonder if some of the complaints are due to new players that bought the game due to hype, or people that beat HK years ago and have rose tinted things or simply folks being older now (and everything that can go with that). I would expect a difficulty spike in a sequel and probably be confused if there wasn’t one.

Edit: I am not a fan of difficulty options/nerfing after the fact (except fighting games) because unless the difficulty is purely hit and damage ratios, easy mode usually doesn’t address level design or enemy placement or damage frames.

Re: Final Fantasy Tactics' Devs Had To Lean On Fans To Recover Original Source Code

Ryu_Niiyama

@Synecdoche Of everything? And with customer expectation that they must keep these things and make them available forever? I doubt that either industry you mentioned keeps everything nor intends to from the start (or even can depending on contract). The storage space costs and medium deterioration alone doesn’t allow for that. And those items that are kept are done so with the intent to reuse (to save or make money) or for contract usage and disposed of or auctioned when no longer of value to the company. Not what I am referring to in my comment. However I have edited my comment for clarity. It seems like you took my comment as being hyperbolic when it wasn’t.

Re: 007 First Light Is More That Just Spies And Style, Launches March 2026 On Switch 2

I am very hopeful for this game. As I can’t really enjoy first person shooters (but grew up with goldeneye), the 3rd person bond games were pretty much the only shooters (well also gears of war) I played. (Everything or Nothing is still my favorite action game with guns.) So this plus the Hitman DNA means the game should be fun. Performance will decide if I buy it twice or not. Also, love M and Moneypenny.

Also hoping since this isn’t tied to an actor that they will make a few of these. I don’t like bond but I like his adventures/games.
