@Suketoudara Where were you for Street Fighter V? This has been Street Fighter's MO with DLC costumes for something like a decade at this point.

Metroid Dread's map is nowhere near as intuitive or tightly plotted as Super Metroid's. It's honestly surprising how much of a mess they made of that given the quality of the rest of the game.

I love adventure games, and I love plenty of other Spike Chunsoft titles, but bow howdy have I struggled to get anywhere in the Somnium FIles series. The characters are just intolerable.

@N00BiSH If that's your view, fine. I'd say it's quite a difference between allowing an ostrich to soar to the heavens than giving one a cheeky chicken flap to lean into the fact the creature is known to be flightless.

@N00BiSH Expresso's flight was more of a glorified hover than true flight, in fairness.

@RadioShadow Hard to see how they could possibly get away with this given that the fault would lie with whoever sold the copy early rather than the recipient. You can't expect everyone to magically 'know' when a game is and isn't supposed to be available after all.

There sure is a heck of a lot of Animal Crossing promotion going on right now. Does this mean something's coming down the pipeline for the Switch 2 in the relatively near future?

There's something to be said for the vibe of the Japanese cover, but that NA/EU cover is an all-timer.

I think some people may just need to accept that all those eight year olds tearing it up on Mario Kart probably aren't down for running a Japanese crime syndicate or using an X-rated character creation suite to make a dystopian cyborg antihero.

OG Wind Waker is gorgeous and full of charm but it also comes with a boatload of tedium that keeps it out of the upper echelons of Zelda entries if you ask me. In a world where the superior HD remaster exist it can really only be an 8/10 these days.

I'm with whoever said they should have included this with the online Expansion Pass. That way it would have felt more like the reward for dedicated Nintendo nerds it's clearly looking to be.

Feels like Miyamato's been 'stepping back' from active participation in game development for twenty years at this point. Maybe he actually, finally has.

NA/EU is more badass, and lets you see way more of the roster to boot. By contrast everyone on the Japanese box is staring at something completely different to everyone else.

The shop shouldn't be doing anything to actively damage the product or its packaging if they're selling it as new. This could get pricy for GameStop in a hurry if someone decides to sue.

I feel the biggest misstep here was calling it the Welcome Tour when it obviously makes people feel anything but

And I went back to Xenoblade Chronicles 2 for the first time in months only to be immediately floored by the game's borderline incomprehensible control system and battle mechanics. Who in their right mind at Monolith Soft thought single-time tutorial screens was a good idea?

@SurprisedRobinChu It's because they'll lose a not-insignificant chunk of customers for the new Pokemon games if they give out the old ones. Gamefreak have made enough missteps of late in some people's eyes that they probably don't want to be giving the fanbase reason to give up entirely on the current gen.

People acting like all these obscure additions to the service are some sort of blessing from the Nintendo gods and not, in fact, simply incredibly cheap licenses to get hold of for mostly shovelware is wild. No shade on Survival Kids, but GB Gradius may be the single worst way to play Gradius and nobody's thought about Sword of Hope in literal decades. Also Star Stacker instead of Kirby's Pinball Land is peak trolling.

All this and then it'll turn out they're going to re-release Sim City instead.

Which would be A-Okay with me since that game was fire. And occasionally on fire, thanks to Bowserzilla.

Anyone who hasn't already picked most of these games up in one of the never-ending conveyer belt of 'collections' over the past few years is unlikely to be persuaded now by the addition of Jedi Power Battles, methinks.

On the final case of the first of The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles games but I've run into one of those roadblocks where my logic and the game's logic are clearly running on divergent tracks since I haven't the foggiest how to proceed. No doubt I'll have to resort to brute forcing my way through by just trying everything and hopefully have it wrapped up by this time next week. It's been a wild(ly uneven) ride, but these games are just so charming it's hard to get too worked up by the sheer improbability of some of the happenings. The music is gorgeous too.

I love Banjo, but I love old Banjo. And that was a quarter of a century ago now. Yes they could theoretically try and replicate it for the modern gaming landscape but why? For the subset of fans who are going to be both nostalgic enough to want to buy it and forgiving enough to look past the fact it's not 'proper' Banjo? Or for new players who are going to need to be for the most part persuaded to come on board by a massively expensive advertising campaign? Grant isn't wrong when he says money is the issue here.

The Titanfall franchise really can't catch a break, can it?

@garfreek Pretty sure when I played it years back I ignored the bonus xp dungeons and got through just fine, and I am by no means a strategy game master. Just be reassured you'll have options if you do find yourself struggling.

Well if this doesn't finally kill off the amiibo brand I guess nothing will. It's still crazy to me these things have lasted as long as they have, but fair play to Nintendo for managing to maintain a level of quality that's a least nicer to look at than Funko.
