@RetroGames you just said that you don’t have quite enough skill or talent to be hired there in the first place, so I think you answered your own question as to why they wouldn’t hire an ‘old fart’ like you. The article doesn’t mention anything about the average age of employees so how would we know their policy around that? Keep sticking to the NintendoLife comments section and maybe someone will notice ye and offer you a position.
Nice clickbait headline. I’m the biggest cynic on this site and even I think you’ve overreacted. It’s not a technical showcase by any means, but it has nice effects and the shot changes every few seconds, so boring is hardly the word I would used. Possibly uninspired, but it’s not boring.
@nessisonett not sure if it’s necessarily a gambling addition or he just wanted to be ‘first’ for temporary internet attention. However, I do agree with the last sentence you wrote. Been saying that for a while.
There’s got to be more to it than this. Pocketpair wouldn’t be stupid enough to post all the details of the lawsuit on their website, and Nintendo wouldn’t be petty enough to go claim such a small amount of money in damages. Will see how this develops.
@Astropez wild assumption buddy. I still have my original PS1 copy from when I was a kid, so I do know quite a lot about it yeah. And what I do know is that I even preferred Mario 64 back when I didn’t know s**t about games. And well done, you basically admitted that you couldn’t complete the original version because it wasn’t great and had to mod it to enjoy it. Good job 😂
@coolioam very much agree. I’m sure it was perfectly serviceable as an early 3D platformer that wasn’t on N64, but I feel that many people are viewing this game with rose-tinted glasses. It’s not that good.
Considering the review is 15 years old, it could have probably done with a more contemporary critical appraisal. A lot has changed in those 15 years, and even more since the game was actually released.
Looks like the game has had a barebones facelift at best. The controls were pretty terrible, so they’ll need to work wonders to get me interested in this, because it honestly just looks like misplaced nostalgia at its best.
@bigcalsworld agreed. The trailer does a good of showcasing the incredibly simple locations.
I mean, of course this was always going to happen so that some internet personality could gain some clout. They could have used reverse psychology: input your Twitch/Instagram/X username in the form. If you have too large a following then you’re not accepted.
When I heard Blumhouse were getting into games, my expectations possibly couldn’t be lower. I’m not a fan of their endless franchising and largely-forgettable output, but this has come as a surprise. Will wishlist this one for now.
@Jarne yeah I think it’s just a bit of a clickbait-like article, because you’re spot on. Judging by the other comments, I don’t think many people would have thought it was anything to do with Shigeru, which makes the ‘FYI’ in the title all the more impertinent.
I’ve been waiting for this since reading about it this morning, checked at 16:05 (because I’m busy in work) and it’s already closed. What a bloody letdown. I selfishly hope it’s rubbish, sorry! 😂
@Olliemar28 respectfully, I hope you guys take feedback from the comments. Because myself, along with the majority of other users here, don’t regard this as ‘fun’.
I personally hate rumour-based content and I only clicked on it to complain.
Source is Reddit now? Really? No, seriously… really??
I’m taking a very much wait and see approach and don’t care for rumours and speculation. I will buy Nintendo’s next console day one as always, but I have plenty of games to keep me occupied until then.
Damn. Annapurna have consistently published absolute winners. Their games always catch my attention, like Devolver Digital, so this is a real blow. Fair play to the staff for staying true to their values and the leadership who resigned, there is obviously a lot of trust there. I hope they bounce back from this.
Of course Geoff Keighley is trying to justify the asking price so he doesn’t upset Sony. Most of his Game Awards s**t is cinematic, minimal-gameplay trailers coming to that console.
“A study of video generative models of the creation of interactive video games”.
Keep AI out of all creative industries, it’s that simple. While I don’t see Nintendo using it any time soon, it’s the sort of thing Ubisoft or EA would latch onto to reduce costs and because they generally don’t care about the player experience or artistic endeavours all that much.
@BulkSlash They’re an American company, so it kinda makes perfect sense. Would be nice to have regional variants though if you’re into this sort of thing.
@Lone_Beagle the passive aggressive bold isn’t necessary at all. You’re on a Nintendo site reading a review on a Nintendo console, performance is going to play a large factor in the overall experience when compared to more powerful consoles. I’m glad it runs better on Steam, but we’ve seen better games get butchered on Switch before so this review isn’t that bad.
This is getting absolutely ludicrous. I went in there today for the first time in months and hardly recognised the place. Game and HMV are slowly becoming indistinguishable from each other with their renewed focus on merch. It’s a depressing development.
I’m intrigued by this game, don’t get me wrong, but the teaser is incredibly generic in terms of what I consider to be ‘scary’ or ‘unsettling’. If it is Nintendo that are making it then I hope to see a bit more of their trademark creativity.
I’ve had some rough life events happen to me, but nothing so bad that I’ve felt the need to threaten a bunch of innocent people. There’s no jokes to be made here about ‘sore losers’ or ‘heated gamer moments’. This is just straight up insanity and personality disorder.
3 was easily the weakest game of the series, and I certainly agree with the open worlds of these games - they’ve never been great at all - and the combat was not as enjoyable as it had previously been.
But my main flaw with the third entry was the writing and setting in general. I never took to the whole alien theme and feel like it totally detracted from the human and sometimes tragic stories of the other assassins. Also, for Travis now being a middle-aged man, I really expected something in terms of genuine character development by this point. He’s still the exact same as he was in the first game. I expected a more world-weary and mature outlook, with some signature one-liners and toilet humour thrown in, but we get nothing of the sort and it felt like a missed opportunity in an already average game.

Re: Poll: So, Will You Be Getting Donkey Kong Country Returns HD For Switch?
It’s a brilliant platformer, but I don’t need another copy and I don’t really want to support this one.

Well if it’s Ubisoft then that game won’t be a competitor. How about an original idea, huh?

Will see how this develops.
Re: Gallery: Unboxing Superdeluxe's Lush Switch Editions For Radiant Silvergun, Clock Tower & Wizardry
Bizarre article this. Essentially an ad for these products but with very little substance in the writing and photography that misses out key features.
Re: Review: Clock Tower: Rewind (Switch) - Pre-RE Survival Horror That's Elevated By Extras
“No huge time commitment required” is proper clutching at straws.
By that merit, should a larger time commitment be a con for other games?
