@WiltonRoots your comment to @electrolite77 is embarrassing.
I have nothing further to add that would meaningfully extend the discussion where we obviously disagree.
Enjoy your overpriced games.
@electrolite77 they objectively cost too much for what they offer when factoring in the prices on the Wii U virtual console for the same software.
Majority I’m referring to = the comments on this site which, as you can see, are no exactly pleased with it and/or are skipping purchases altogether.
Cost of living does factor in because there is less disposable income for such entertainment. If it was cheaper it could be attainable for others.
It’s almost like you’re on the side of the corporate greed machine - the now very anti-consumer Nintendo, that is.
@WiltonRoots we have a cost of living crisis and these games are at least 15 years old now. So maybe people aren’t selling kidneys to buy them (it sounds like people are going to pass on these in general), but they objectively cost far too much for what they are. Feel free to disagree, but the majority has spoken here.
@JohnnyMind Are you implying that the pricing is the LEAST important thing when it comes to games? Because I’d argue that it’s an important topic for literally every consumer product, ever. At least to me and many of the other people in this comment section.
@JohnnyMind a discount from Nintendo who rarely discounts their games? This is such a poor take; they are far too expensive. I thought this might be the day you finally say something critical, but nope.
Panzer Dragoon Remake was so visually unappealing, felt unfinished in areas and had excruciating load times. It’s such a shame Forever have the license.
Source: YouTuber - Those who selfishly flourish via sensationalism and gimmicky thumbnails to sell us any old s**t. You would do better again than to pay attention to this rubbish.
@Not_Soos I don’t know what games you’ve “cared about”, but I wouldn’t get carried away with all those IP making the jump to Nintendo. If anything, it would be a gradual process where they test the waters with spin-offs - like Lego Horizon - rather than bringing any big hitters across.
@kmtrain83 Let me dissect and address your many assumptions: 1. You don’t know we’re not getting a full direct. I believe we will at some point, as Nintendo likes to announce these things at short notice. 2. I didn’t ask you to justify my purchase. 3. I didn’t say I was unhappy with it. 4. I’m not selling my console you absolute roaster.
This is a damn tech demo, who’s going to 100% it? Honestly thought people had more common sense than getting up in arms about as something as inconsequential as this.
@speed_loafer ah, not on this occasion! Pessimistic about many things but I have been looking forward to the console. Regardless of the constant discourse around pricing and people crying that they’re not allowed to mod it, I’m just looking forward to playing more games. Hope yours arrives soon! ✌🏻
@speed_loafer ‘pessimistic’ more specifically, but you are right. ‘Dire’ and ‘pessimism’ are both negative connotations but that’s about all they have in common. I wouldn’t say they’re the linked.
I don’t really want to say it, because I feel bad for those affected…
But they should have known better than to preorder from Game. They will absolutely learn from this experience though, and I hope they manage to get their orders sorted before release.
What are you people actually looking to do here? Mod your consoles to install emulators? Pirate software instead of paying for it? What do you expect to happen? Use your gaming system to play your video games as intended and there won’t be a problem.
@Oldstalk I cannot get on board with referring to Game Key Cards as a physical release. It just doesn’t make sense if you need the internet to download and play the software.
@YAT I’m not saying I agree with it, but ‘Switch tax’ has been a thing for the entire previous generation, so your Rune Factory comparison doesn’t surprise me at all. Also people don’t buy Nintendo products for the performance or boundary-pushing graphics. Thats been commonplace since the days of the Wii. Buy a PC if you care about that.
@Axecon and I completely understand the shock! I’m not thrilled about it either, especially as a predominately physical collector. The price chat has just exhausted all possible variation in conversation; writing the same thing over and over and over again is pointless. Buying the bundle with the digital game included really is a no brainer, considering the difference in price. They’ll shift plenty of consoles with this and I’m sure it will be very lucrative for Nintendo.
@Bizaster Really? Price chat is getting really boring now. It’s too much of course, but it’s also draining any sense of enjoyable anticipation about this game. Either buy it or don’t - posting it in NintendoLife comment sections isn’t achieving anything.

I am genuinely concerned about the direction Nintendo is taking this generation. I miss Iwata more than ever.

Stupid rage bait. Good thing my hobby is playing games with my controller instead of tearing them down.

A prolonged advert for a game I’m already gonna buy. We need an actual direct so we can see why we bought a Switch 2 at launch.
