@BulkSlash They’re an American company, so it kinda makes perfect sense. Would be nice to have regional variants though if you’re into this sort of thing.
@Lone_Beagle the passive aggressive bold isn’t necessary at all. You’re on a Nintendo site reading a review on a Nintendo console, performance is going to play a large factor in the overall experience when compared to more powerful consoles. I’m glad it runs better on Steam, but we’ve seen better games get butchered on Switch before so this review isn’t that bad.
This is getting absolutely ludicrous. I went in there today for the first time in months and hardly recognised the place. Game and HMV are slowly becoming indistinguishable from each other with their renewed focus on merch. It’s a depressing development.
I’m intrigued by this game, don’t get me wrong, but the teaser is incredibly generic in terms of what I consider to be ‘scary’ or ‘unsettling’. If it is Nintendo that are making it then I hope to see a bit more of their trademark creativity.
I’ve had some rough life events happen to me, but nothing so bad that I’ve felt the need to threaten a bunch of innocent people. There’s no jokes to be made here about ‘sore losers’ or ‘heated gamer moments’. This is just straight up insanity and personality disorder.
3 was easily the weakest game of the series, and I certainly agree with the open worlds of these games - they’ve never been great at all - and the combat was not as enjoyable as it had previously been.
But my main flaw with the third entry was the writing and setting in general. I never took to the whole alien theme and feel like it totally detracted from the human and sometimes tragic stories of the other assassins. Also, for Travis now being a middle-aged man, I really expected something in terms of genuine character development by this point. He’s still the exact same as he was in the first game. I expected a more world-weary and mature outlook, with some signature one-liners and toilet humour thrown in, but we get nothing of the sort and it felt like a missed opportunity in an already average game.
I don’t necessarily care for it either way (I’m swaying more towards ‘this is utterly meaningless’), but some of the comments are pretty unacceptable for having an opinion on something.
@Alpha008 like I said, I don’t want to read reviews of entitled internet crybabies, essentially. The kind of people that would review bomb something because they changed a voice actor or something, as opposed to evaluating the game on its own merit.
Why is everyone dumping on Metacritic? And what maniacs actually go there for the user reviews? I’m only interested in the opinions of people that can actually string a coherent sentence together.
Pretty insane to come out with this so soon after the high-profile closure of Yuzu. I’m sure their alleged legal consultation will be absolutely useless and I anticipate the day it gets taken down.
@bluemage1989 your opinions on Disco Elysium, Shining Pearl and the Persona games are generally miles away from the sheer majority of critics and fans. Certainly not “in line with what most people would think”. That’s exactly all it is though - an opinion. And yours is in the minority with those three.
Disco Elysium is one of the finest narrative works I have experienced of any medium. I hope the extremely talented people affected by this bs manage to find the same success with their future projects.
I’ve never been a huge fan of the Mario Vs Donkey Kong games. It’s missing some of that creative magic we’ve come to expect from the main games. This really had to be at least a 9 for me to pick it up, so no chance of that happening now.
Really confused by… all of his words to be honest. He left in 2020 after what sounds like he basically sold his “baby” and handed over creative control to others. I bet he wasn’t complaining when he got a fat pay check at the time.
And yeah, the game has nearly been out for 5 and a half years. Probably definitely absolutely time for something new.
@IceEarthGuard we all have our own opinions, Jarrett. Considering she hasn’t worked on a Pokemon project since she was Ash, and was easily her most recognisable role, she’s clearly still clinging onto that in 2024. It’s not rude, she has not been relevant in Pokemon for almost 20 years lollllll.
@ketrac sorry we’re talking about what SHE said though. Not players, fans, consumers, etc.
Your point about Resident Evil doesn’t make much sense. Are you saying you WANT the infamously bad and critically panned original Resi voice actors for the sake of continuity? Because no one was complaining when they got changed… 🥴
Pretty ridiculous comments from her (and most other people here too, I guess) to say she’s not quite over being recast in something that happened 18 years ago… She literally addressed her own dilemma by stating that it’s par for the course when it comes to being an actor. It’s the nature of the industry. I’m sorry but, move on to new projects and stop trying to remain relevant in this space.
@sleepinglion really? That’s your attitude towards the game because someone has found one of the most niche and random exploits imaginable? Glitches and tricks are found in games all the time. How were the QA team supposed to know that this, of all things, was even possible?
Limited Run currently have Bill and Ted in their physical year end sale, so this will no doubt be a ploy to get rid of excess stock that they have of a game which no one really wanted, because it’s trash.
Okay I think that’s enough of The Game Awards for one year. General consensus is that they’re one big hype builder, not really about celebrating gaming, Geoff Keighley is a tool, etc.
@pinderschloss absolutely owned mate. I would probably give it a week before you come back here.
@MS7000 hardly disdain for older titles, or else there wouldn’t have been remakes of Link’s Awakening and Skyward Sword after Breath of the Wild. And, using your own words, they have embraced both styles of game.
@LadyCharlie well they clearly considered fans feedback, so I think you’re being incredibly disrespectful here. You do you though if you don’t want to return to the series, you’re definitely in the minority though with your opinion.

Re: Pizza Tower Finally Dashes Onto Switch Today
@LadyCharlie did you even click the link? The perceived evidence isn’t there anymore. So it’s just one internet user’s opinion.
Re: 'Castlevania Dominus Collection' Brings Three DS Classics To Switch Today
“Plus Haunted Castle” has the same energy as “and Knuckles”.
Re: The Plucky Squire Physical Release Announced
@Bizzyb I would be surprised seeing as Devolver oversee most of their own releases directly.

@Lone_Beagle glad you’re enjoying it, because I wanted it to be good, but this is a Switch review.
Re: Caravan SandWitch Takes You On A Cosy Adventure In A Lovely Sci-Fi World
Ah yes, definitely inspired by France with the frog NPC’s.

@JokerCK you missed the point of his comment entirely, jeez.
Re: Shinji Mikami Wants Suda51 To Make A Killer7 Sequel

Obnoxious game meets the most obnoxious reviewer.
Re: Random: Stop-motion Animation Shows Sephiroth Playing Basketball With Kirby
@FishyS I was convinced I had seen it before too, which makes sense now!
(Also, why report on it at all really?)

Re: Review: Overmorrow (Switch) - Intriguing, But Assumes Too Much With Its Save-Wiping Setup
A bad idea and a poorly executed one at that. Also, not big on that art style at all, but that’s always personal preference isn’t it.
Re: Review: Slayers X (Switch) - A Fun But Basic Boomer Shooter That Lacks An X Factor
Never has there been a more repulsive and off-putting tagline than “the video game equivalent of Limp Bizkit”.
I think I’m alright actually without this game then, thanks.
