Am I the only one who was glad Valve brought it to their attention? If Nintendo wanted people to play Gamecube games on Steam then they obviously would have done so by now. These fan projects are doomed as soon as they gain any amount of traction, but these idiots never learn.
I can understand why they choose projects like this from an investors point of view - there’s already a fan-base established, the interest is already there. But the lack of originality in terms of IP these days is just so disappointing. Tired of spin-offs for Marvel, Disney, DC, LotR, Game of Thrones, Harry Potter, whatever man.
This ain’t coming to Switch. That’s just an opinion of course, and is based purely on the fact that Konami chose not to release Castlevania Requiem: Symphony of the Night/Rondo of Blood on Switch, for literally no reason whatsoever. This MGS collection will be PS5, Xbox and PC only.
@EvrgrnCmln what has that got to do with anything I said or the article in general? Also, you’re not even correct. I could only find 1 story about 1 particular dev who was diagnosed with PTSD due to ‘violent dreams’ that they were having. If you’re gonna @ me with irrelevant info at least get it right.
@Jhena it’s not a Nintendo game though, so they’re not the ‘twisted’ ones. It just happens to be on their system. I shouldn’t need to have to explain that lol.
@Jhena you have no obligation to buy violent video games. But having the option to play them on Nintendo’s console is healthy for the industry as a whole.
I was grinning like an idiot when I accidentally killed myself with a bomb weapon I forgot to let go of. That was a kind of ‘lightbulb’ moment for me where I was thinking ‘well I didn’t know I could do THAT’. It takes a special kind of game for me to be cheesing when I have GAME OVER displayed on my TV.
Seems like it’s poor critical reception isn’t going to stop its popularity. As a Nintendo fan I guess this is a good success for them. As a cinema fan, I’m just disappointed.
Who the heck is surprised by this? With the utterly ridiculous money being spent on these ‘investments’ in recent years, the more likely that fakes and fraud are going to surface.
Well I’m guessing they didn’t really find much success competing against SNK. Always look forward to discovering new games, even if these titles aren’t necessarily my thing.
@michellelynn0976 yeah exactly this. I was going to make a comparison to the FIFA Legacy Editions that have been coming out, which is essentially less than DLC.
@PinderSchloss welcome to gaming in 2023. I don’t know what else to tell you.
But seriously, fake limited editions? What are you on about? There’s also barely been any Amiibo output. And the DLC isn’t “endless”. Certainly not as bad as other companies when it comes to timed cosmetic nonsense.
These remarks seem quite baseless to me.
Listen, I just enjoy the games and apply a little bit of videogame logic to the proceedings without really thinking about it. Red barrels explode, enemies heads are their weak points, RPG’s are turn-based and have damage indicated by a number and Kirby ‘eats’ things.
Not feeling this, struggling to see either inspiration tbh. The soundtrack is probably the most Satoshi Kon thing about this game. @yannis looks more like Junjo Ito to me too, but this is coming from someone who hasn’t read any of his work.
@MatoFilipovic you’re not wrong, but no one wants to hear about their interest in NFT’s. Because if there’s one company who would be dumb and/or stubborn enough to actually incorporate into their games, it’s Square Enix… But also the Pokemon Company 100% too.
The Pokemon Company are behind on their business decisions (NFT’s are a dead concept) and their game development (Scarlet/Violet were technologically 2 gaming generations too late).
If they didn’t have such a strong IP they would honestly be bust.
OMG a luggage tag!!! I was on the fence about the game but that tag has swayed my decision, easily. Day one for me now. Thank you Nintendo. Thank you NintendoLife!!

Re: Poll: Box Art Brawl - Ikaruga
Hate all the cover art for this. Yasushi Suzuki has some of the greatest concept art in the business and none of them do it justice at all.
Re: Round Up: Reviews For LOTR: Gollum Spell Doom For The Switch Release
@Cashews We’re just getting older, pal. And the times are changing. Are I’m certainly not happy about it 😅
Physical games forever.

Re: Random: Nintendo Embraces Mortal Kombat In Stark Contrast To '90s Censorship
Nintendo hasn’t been as strict with violence and whatnot for a long time. It’s those wimps at Sony that take the censorship crown these days.

Re: Random: Zelda: Breath Of The Wild Tops GQ's 100 Greatest Games Of All Time
Kind of disappointed how ‘recent’ most of these games are. I don’t care who needs to hear it, The Last of Us and Dark Souls are insanely overrated.
Re: Review: Molly Medusa: Queen Of Spit - A Frustrating, Wind Waker-Inspired Throwback
There are homages, ‘inspired by’, etc.
Then there’s blatant clones.
Re: Mario Movie Sets New Box Office Records
@Dev9417 the “Disney of video games” is so unbelievably stupid. The two companies are hardly comparable.

Re: Star Gagnant, A Rapid Fire Shmup Supervised By Takahashi Meijin, Blasts Onto Switch Next Week
@The_Trooper49 ah, I didn’t realise Gunvein was coming out so soon. It was one I was tracking for a while then forgot about. Thanks for the tip.
Re: Star Gagnant, A Rapid Fire Shmup Supervised By Takahashi Meijin, Blasts Onto Switch Next Week
That’s a STEEP price for a shmup download. Would rather seek out a physical copy for that amount.
Re: Outright Games Releases 'Hasbro Kids Bundle' Today With All Profits Going To UNICEF
@nessisonett beat me to it.
Re: Alien: Isolation - The Collection Physical Edition Announced For Nintendo Switch
Same old comments about LRG wait times etc. Don’t buy their stuff if that bothers you so much, the game has also been available digitally for years.
Re: Microsoft's Activision Blizzard Acquisition Has Been Officially Blocked In The UK
@DanijoEX I did think the second comment was posted too quickly. Makes sense now. Effort for being able to use CTRL + C.
Re: Microsoft's Activision Blizzard Acquisition Has Been Officially Blocked In The UK
@victordamazio I think you need to get some fresh air.
Re: Review: Minecraft Legends - A Jankier, Less-Fun Pikmin, And A Massive Disappointment
@Anti-Matter sounds like it’s just terrible. So I’m surprised it isn’t your type of game.

Easy fix surely. And I always forget to redeem gold points for physical.

@Cashews Cool, the link posted is clearly for SL, but glad you got a copy.
Re: RayStorm X RayCrisis HD Collection Brings Two Taito Shmup Masterpieces To Switch
Lol, bit late reporting on this. I’ve had it preordered at Strictly Limited for a few months now. The base version is even sold out now.
Re: YouTuber Reveals Potential Location For Zelda In Tears Of The Kingdom
Why is NintendoLife reporting on this crap? The game isn’t out yet and you’re reporting on Youtuber speculation… What has this site become?

Re: Super Mario Bros. Theme Is The First Video Game Track Added To The Library Of Congress
Good to see this get honoured. The Super Mario Bros. theme is THE videogame theme. Tetris would have been a close second I’d imagine.
Re: Miyamoto On New Mario Game: "Please Stay Tuned For Future Nintendo Directs"
@Anti-Matter that would clearly be a spin-off game and not a mainline entry.
Re: Soapbox: Nobody Does 'More Of The Same' Better Than Nintendo
@Ralizah but doctor, please help me. Do I have this syndrome you speak of?
Re: Soapbox: Nobody Does 'More Of The Same' Better Than Nintendo
@Ralizah Breath of the Wild Derangement Syndrome. It’s like you didn’t even read your own common before responding.
Re: Review: Gripper - Slick, Akira-Style Biking Action With An Equal Measure Of Frustration
I can’t wait for this to be nothing like Akira. It’s referenced too often on this site without a viable comparison being drawn.

Everyone moaning but you’re all still going to buy it and love it. Let’s not kid each other on here.

@PinderSchloss dramatic outcome, but okay.

‘Bricking it’ would have been better.
Re: Konami Files Trademark For Mysterious 'Project Zircon'
It’s probably nothing to do with Castlevania and is more likely some more Pachinko/Gacha-style crap that they love.
