I’m convinced this isn’t an official King Kong tie-in and is just a terrible attempt to look like one to boost sales. I’d sure they would have used more movie assets and references if it was.
They’ll probably put out a separate release when the full DLC is available too. If there’s one company who completely epitomises quantity over quality, it’s Game Freak.
I’m just glad to finally see Origins released in PAL territories. Already own the first one on Gamecube (which I’ve admittedly never played), but I couldn’t miss this collection.
I played this at my brothers tonight on his PS5. Really curious to see how Switch handles the entire game tbh. The seamless transition from character select menu to actual fight is particularly impressive.
If anyone else follows Charles on Instagram, one of the first things you’ll notice is his sincerity and genuine passion for Nintendo and the characters he’s portrayed. It would be so easy for someone to stand in front of a camera and deliver a template, corporate bs message, but Charles’ enthusiasm is legitimate and will be sorely missed. Wishing him the best in everything that he does.
Was always hoping for a physical of this (very much expected iam8bit to have had one for PS4 by now), maybe we’ll get one for Switch. £33 was too much for a download only game for me.
Looking at that screenshot of Dipplin, man, and it’s still too difficult to see past the low res textures on the grass and uninspired artistic choices for the environment. I played Violet upon release, but playing TotK and Pikmin 4 recently have reminded how amateur Game Freak developed games are.
You guys have as much clout as we do when it comes to guessing which games will appear on Switch. I think it’s unlikely we’ll see any of these at all, unless Nintendo is starved for content leading up to the Switch’s successor and needs to call on old Link for one last hardware push.
I wouldn’t say ‘to little surprise’. Sure it’s had a big marketing push, has got great reviews and the Switch has a large user base, but Pikmin has always been quite a niche franchise. As a longtime fan I’m very glad to see it at the top, of course, but it still surprises me.
@Ryu_Niiyama Hahaha, I’m glad it wasn’t just me that viewed it as snide/immature/unprofessional (delete as appropriate). The mods on Push Square are way more chill and engaging with their audience and even admit mistakes in their information, etc. Very refreshing to see. This will probably be deleted too, but I appreciate your response.
@Ryu_Niiyama yep, that was me. And when I saw the article last night I thought ‘how ridiculously convenient and timely this is’. Almost felt like a dig at my expense, especially after PJ, Ollie and DreamlandGem piled on as you say. Their immature defence of an already immature word is quite staggering tbh. Especially when I was genuinely being critical of this ‘add dog to aging franchise’ trend in the first place.
@Uncle_Franklin that isn’t my point and I think you know it. My point clearly is that injecting a dog-like character into a number sequel of a franchise, as a way to reinvigorate the formula, is lazy. I have examples above, and Splatoon 5 will probably be the next thing this happens in.
You have gained minimal respect though for not using the word ‘doggo’.

If you were to remove all instances of ‘flipping’, ‘blinking’, ‘ruddy’ and any other adverbs, Alex’s articles would be half the length.
Re: Feature: The 13 Spookiest Pokémon, Ranked
As others have said, poor list, with almost no homework done.

@Olliemar28 ah of course, for the clicks innit Loud and clear.
Re: Review: Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 1 - An Extensive But Imperfect Compilation Of Classics
Great game review that doesn’t mention anything about the gameplay at all. Wonderful stuff, as ever from this site.
Re: Round Table: Let's Talk Mario Wonder - Surprises, Badges, Difficulty, New Characters
@DripDropCop146 poor take. But you do you.
Re: Poll: What Review Score Would You Give Super Mario Bros. Wonder?
It’s only Monday, can I get some time to play the bloody game?
Re: Round Up: The Reviews Are In For Super Mario Bros. Wonder
Mario games scoring very well and Anti-Matter still saying stupid sh*t.
All is right with the world.
Re: Review: Front Mission 2: Remake - Serviceable, But With Some Seriously Rough Edges
Dodge anything from Forever Entertainment. Shovelware-tier developer that somehow still gets decent licenses.
Re: Analogue's CEO Reckons Not Even Nintendo Could Beat Its New 'N64'
He might well be correct when making these assumptions, but did he have to come across like such a d**k while doing so?

This is what Disney do. Nothing new here.
Re: Random: Some Switch Fans Want A Super Mario Bros. Wonder eShop Demo
I’m embarrassed on behalf of all these whiny Twitter users. The game is out in 9 days and they’re all going to buy it anyway.
Re: Soapbox: 'Switch 2' Doesn't Really Need Backwards Compatibility
Well done for drawing people in with the clickbait headline.
It really does need to be backwards compatible though, so let’s not f*** around any more than you already have.

Re: Unity To Charge Developers A Fee Each Time A Game Is Installed Next Year
Shoddy, greedy business practice.
And surely the CEO selling shares would count as insider trading in a way? Ahead of this bombshell news.

Re: Review: Rune Factory 3 Special - The Same Great Farm Sim/RPG, Though 'Special' Is A Stretch
@Ryu_Niiyama sorry, but I ain’t reading all that. My issue was with the “far superior” comment and nothing else.
Re: Review: Rune Factory 3 Special - The Same Great Farm Sim/RPG, Though 'Special' Is A Stretch
@Princess_Lilly that is absolutely not what you said or even what you were implying in your first comment 😂 go read it again.

@Princess_Lilly “far superior”?

Sounds like you just shouldn’t order from Amazon, where their return process is so broken.

Re: Soapbox: Oatchi Is The Star Of Pikmin 4, And He Deserves To Stay For Good
@JugOfVoodoo Twilight Princess… it’s basically a dog and is absolutely not the best part of that game.

My god you’s just can’t let this dog thing go, can you’s?
Re: Brace Yourselves, Pokémon Cards Are Seemingly Returning To UK McDonald's Happy Meals Soon
