I played this at my brothers tonight on his PS5. Really curious to see how Switch handles the entire game tbh. The seamless transition from character select menu to actual fight is particularly impressive.

If anyone else follows Charles on Instagram, one of the first things you’ll notice is his sincerity and genuine passion for Nintendo and the characters he’s portrayed. It would be so easy for someone to stand in front of a camera and deliver a template, corporate bs message, but Charles’ enthusiasm is legitimate and will be sorely missed.

Was always hoping for a physical of this (very much expected iam8bit to have had one for PS4 by now), maybe we’ll get one for Switch. £33 was too much for a download only game for me.

Looking at that screenshot of Dipplin, man, and it’s still too difficult to see past the low res textures on the grass and uninspired artistic choices for the environment.
I played Violet upon release, but playing TotK and Pikmin 4 recently have reminded how amateur Game Freak developed games are.

Sounds like you just shouldn’t order from Amazon, where their return process is so broken.

You guys have as much clout as we do when it comes to guessing which games will appear on Switch. I think it’s unlikely we’ll see any of these at all, unless Nintendo is starved for content leading up to the Switch’s successor and needs to call on old Link for one last hardware push.

I wouldn’t say ‘to little surprise’. Sure it’s had a big marketing push, has got great reviews and the Switch has a large user base, but Pikmin has always been quite a niche franchise.
As a longtime fan I’m very glad to see it at the top, of course, but it still surprises me.

The Panzer Dragoon remake was super underwhelming. I don’t know why these guys keep getting licenses to (potentially) beloved franchises.

@Ryu_Niiyama Hahaha, I’m glad it wasn’t just me that viewed it as snide/immature/unprofessional (delete as appropriate). The mods on Push Square are way more chill and engaging with their audience and even admit mistakes in their information, etc. Very refreshing to see.

@Ryu_Niiyama yep, that was me. And when I saw the article last night I thought ‘how ridiculously convenient and timely this is’. Almost felt like a dig at my expense, especially after PJ, Ollie and DreamlandGem piled on as you say. Their immature defence of an already immature word is quite staggering tbh.
Especially when I was genuinely being critical of this ‘add dog to aging franchise’ trend in the first place.

@Uncle_Franklin that isn’t my point and I think you know it. My point clearly is that injecting a dog-like character into a number sequel of a franchise, as a way to reinvigorate the formula, is lazy. I have examples above, and Splatoon 5 will probably be the next thing this happens in.

I’m still going to buy this because I love Pikmin, but adding a dog (not ‘doggo’, for f**k sake), just screams creativity anaemia to me. They did it in Yoshi’s Island, they did it in Luigi’s Mansion and now they’ve done it here - you could also argue Twilight Princess to a degree.
It’s hardly original, isn’t like the series really required it and I don’t care if you can pet it or not.

Well… It would appear after all of this that this Chapman fella does in fact have the right to use their work, or else this would have came to halt in a, probably very messy, court proceeding. We’ll never hear the full story about this, but the fact that the publisher is going ahead with this complete edition suggests that they are very confident with their supposed right to the disputed works in question.

Personally, big shmup fan so I’ve always been interested in playing it. Just preordered a copy of this at Play Asia yesterday and I hope no legal troubles hinder its release, cause it looks very good.

Man the Switch’s menu is so dull. These animations are primitive, but they are missed 😪 along with any kind of ambient sounds and noises.

Even my younger self who was obsessed with Pokemon Diamond at the time did not see the appeal in this game. Pokemon Stadium back in the day at least had fully 3D animated battles and, more importantly for me and my brother, ridiculous minigames.
But Pokemon Ranch was just a total waste of time and precious Wii Points.Tentacruel can just exist there for eternity.

Nah it means Mortal Kombat 1 soon.

I feel like Tears of the Kingdom is just too vast and I’m never going to finish it. I understand this will be a positive for some people, but for me I don’t have as much time to see it all, which I never thought I’d be complaining about.
One things for sure, you’re getting a lot of game for that inflated price tag.

Barely any of these comments have anything to do with the article in question…
1. This trailer doesn’t prove there is no direct.
2. A direct might still happen (stop whinging about one).
3. The character creation looks quite primitive.
