Re: Poll: Are You Ready To Move On From The Switch?

Olrun

I have to double check but I believe my backlog on switch of already bought games is... maybe 6? Since a year ago I just buy a game if I'm going to start playing right away (apart of certain games I want to play 100% and get a nice discount, which I start playing a soon as I finish my current game), so my backlog starts to be under control.
Still there are plenty of games I would like ti replay and old games I'd love to play for the first time, so no rush for the new console. If it has no backward compatibility and doesn't have a launch title that interests me, surely I'll wait for a while.

Re: Dragon Quest Creator On The Challenge Of Silent Protagonists In Modern Gaming

Olrun

@Bass_X0 but being a silent hero doesn't mean character can't be expressive at times. Link is a silent hero but he can be expressive at times.
I agree that a silent hero removes things, but there are several ways to manage.

At the same time more realistic games bring some design problems that in less realistic games are not present, which ends in yellow paint, characters moving "slow" in comparison to older games... realistic game design doesn't suit at all with most design ideas done for years.

Re: Nintendo Download: 20th June (North America)

Olrun

Not this week as this month is not giving me time for playing at all, but as soon as I can finish two games I'm into I'll get both Moonstone island and Dicefolk. Good times for us who like monster collector games!

Re: Nintendo Issues Multiple DMCAs On The Modding Site 'GameBanana'

Olrun

@FawfulDX the major problem modding Nintendo games is that they are just available on its platform and they don't give any way to backup games, meaning that they've mostly need piracy in a first term.
I like modding and think that companies could be more permissive about them, but in this case nintendo has the winner hand, surely not even official assets would make any difference.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (4th May)

Olrun

Stardew valley called me back after a year without playing it, maybe the news about the 1.6 update sounded like mermaid songs for me (still playing on switch so no update yet). Started playing again last Sunday and been playing every free minute I had. During this week I got to grab the golden clock, complete the museum and the sent items collection, just missing three fishes and gotta star focusing on quests and decorating my farm. Happy gaming everyone!

Re: Pokémon-Like 'Coromon' Scores A Physical Switch Release, Pre-Orders Open Next Week

Olrun

@Pillowpants I remember there was a demo on steam and on Android some years ago, not sure if they're still available
@PateloDim it's a pokeclone, ya know what to expect. There's no gyms but something more like boss battles (one per type available). The pixel art and the animations are great and a nice highlight. There's battle tower and online for post-game as "shiny hunting" (colors depend on the stats), and you can customize the game any time you wish to (difficulty, healing after matches, randomization, nuzlocking...). Not a game for a GOTY but will give you a nice time

Re: Soapbox: I Thought I'd Clear My Backlog In 2024, But The Switch Had Other Ideas

Olrun

Ironically 2024 is helping me clearing my backlog. The amount of released games since past year ended giving me almost anxiety and somehow it killed my interest in buying almost any game. But gaming mood was still present so I'm taking advantage to play backlog and other retro games I was interested and bought for years and never played. Of course there are games I plan to buy later this year (moonstone island I know you're coming at some point to switch and I'm waiting for you), but somehow I got more attracted to backlog this year.
