Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (May 6th)

Olrun

@dugan don't worry! Got gifted an OLED past year and I didn't know that for transfer the island I needed a special program. Cloud backup don't work for different consoles and technical support refused to activate it on my oled thinking I was going to cheat surely. After that I've not touched AC for months until now, must recognize I'm doing time travel this time at least for getting the basics.
I hope you get fun with Sakuna! Loved it back on the day when I played it.

Re: GameStop Fires Employee For Leaking Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom Switch

Olrun

I'm pretty sure once you get hired in a place like GameStop you have to sign a NDA contract where you can't leak information/sell something before release date, for example. And nowadays is stupidly easy to find a leaker. I'm not a fan of Nintendo's actions but this time Mike looked for it. Was it worth your 10 minutes of glory on the internet Mike?

Re: Feature: Our Predictions For The February 2023 Nintendo Direct

Olrun

If we get to see a new silksong trailer I'll be happy. Possibilities of Zelda, Mario and Pikmin are almost 100% (if they don't do anything with Mario would be a lost opportunity). DK and Metroid still have a possibility and at this point advance wars should just drop after the direct.

Re: Video: One Month In, What Are Your Predictions For The Switch's 2023?

Olrun

Surely after TotK year will be "slow". Gotta do some bets:
-Wind Waker/Twilight Princess ports could come months later taking advantage of TotK release situation.
-Pokemon SV DLC for November, maybe a spinoff announced on pokemon day.
-Advance Wars for April/March (Kirby release on February and TotK on May, so could work for filling)
-As complementary to Advance Wars, some Mario content due to the film. Not talking about a big game, maybe a DLC or the battle royale thing back for a while.
-Pikmin 4 on July/August

For later months, maybe a Splatoon 3 DLC similar to Octoexpansion? Prime Trilogy could work as well. If Switch 2 finaly comes in 2024 they'll save some heavy stuff for its release, like Prime 4.

Re: Nintendo Will Reportedly "Boost" Switch Production In 2023

Olrun

There wil not be a new model (and surely not a announcement) while there are things planned for this console. That puts the Mario Kart DLC over the table and it ends in December, announcing a new console before that would affect the current sales. I'm pretty sure there will be Mario content in the way due to the film and Zelda TotK is coming soon, so the boost makes sense.

Re: Talking Point: Does Nintendo's Next Console Have To Be 'Another' Switch?

Olrun

I'd be happy with just a more powerful console - not in terms of graphics, a lot of games are starting to ask for a base performance that Switch starts to lack. Most of games with performance issues would play amazing with a bit more of power. The innovation could be on a base which could improve performance and graphics. I'd say 4k is not even necessary, Nintendo games are quite stylized and 2k would work great allowing a more affordable price. Not necessary a higher definition in portable mode - the more definition, the littlest is the text.

Re: Talking Point: What Is The Most Frustrated You've Ever Been With A Video Game?

Olrun

I have a lot of patience so getting frustrated in games is kind of difficult for me. It's been some weeks ago first time I've felt real frustration with a game and it was... souldiers. Not because of the game as it was manageable, but the crashes even saving that made me lose progress. Near the end of the game there is a map where crash saving is near 50% so you can guess. In addition some insane load screen times and you have the perfect combo.
Just for the general idea, my save file says it took me 24 hours to beat the game, but switch profile says 35+ hours. So these 11-15 extra hours are loading screens and doing parts of the game again and again.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (December 24th)

Olrun

Got some nice games in sales! The last campfire was a pretty good game. Driving into Shovel Knight treasure trove right now, but I've got Souldiers, Ender Lilies and Aeterna Noctis (this one on physical edition), but I'm tempted to get Elechead as well.
Happy gaming and happy holidays, merry Christmas!

Re: Poll: Rate Your Favourite Switch Games Of The Year 2022

Olrun

Kirby and the Forgotten Lands. Could say Tunic (it's been my fav game this year) but I've played it on PC. Pokemon Legends Arceus is pretty close to the position, and Pokemon Violet could have been my fav game this year but the performance issues make it lose some possitions.

Re: Video: Hogwarts Legacy Shows Off Magical New Gameplay Footage

Olrun

Even if I do not agree with Rowling statements, we need to remember this game has been made by a studio, not by her, and the ones that will pay consequences for going wild with this game will be the people who worked far on it.
With that said, Amazon listed the game for 2023 December, but could be a placeholder.
