Re: Poll: Are You Still Playing Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom?

Mr_Humpf

I've played about 60 hours - which is litteraly all of the time I've had to game since it came out - and I don't think I've scratched the surface. I've done lots of side quests and side plots, shrines and towers, but only the Rito main quest. I'm in no hurry!

Re: Metroid Dread's UK Sales Momentum Points To A Big Moment For The Series

Mr_Humpf

@Dragonslacker1 It's my first Metroid and it's certainly not an easy game! I'm still making progress but I can recognise many of your frustrations! Rightly or wrongly, I'm just trying to "navigate upwards". I'm exploring everywhere, trying to fill in the map as much as I can. I'm enjoying it but yeah, it's pretty challenging.

Re: UK Retailer Currys Had A Metroid Dread Deal That Was Too Good To Be True

Mr_Humpf

It's worth following a few deal sites like Hotukdeals - which has a very active Nintendo community. There's always deals to be had, but often you need to be quick. From experience, many of the deals are honoured even if they are a misprice. I missed this one, but Curry's will probably have it for £34.99 either on the day of release or shortly after. That's how I've purchased my last few big Nintendo releases.

Re: Animal Crossing: New Horizons Deserted Island Diary Releases Later This Month

Mr_Humpf

I really enjoyed New Horizon when it came out and happily ploughed over a hundred hours into it before I started to get bored. I haven't played it in a long time, but I still consider any game that gives you 100 hours of enjoyment a success. I might start over at some point, I'm sure with all the updates there's a lot of new content for me to check out.

Re: Review: West of Loathing (Switch eShop)

Mr_Humpf

I've just bought this in the current sale. I played it for a couple of hours last night and I absolutely love it. Like Alex says in his review, the writing is excellent. It really made me laugh!

Re: Zelda: Skyward Sword HD - Motion Control Vs Analog Stick - Which Is Best?

Mr_Humpf

I'm enjoying playing the game again, but for me the controls are somewhat of a barrier to that enjoyment - both the motion controls and the analog stick controls have issues, but the motion controls are the better option. It's not until I started playing the game again that I realised how much of the game is built around the controls though. Having to slash the Piranha Plant / Deku Baba either horizontally or vertically depending on how they open their mouths, the way Bokoblins block attacks forcing you to attack from different sides, it's all built from the ground up with the motion controls at the heart of things. It's difficult to see how they could remove them without having to start over.

Re: Yep, Tantalus Was Also The Developer Of The Legend Of Zelda: Skyward Sword HD

@blindsquarel I love BoTW. After completing the main story several times, I still just enjoy romping around Hyrule, raiding camps, playing around with the physics. I still see things that I've never come across before. I still love running across a hillside with the foxes at sunset. I don't get bored of it. I understand why people like a linear experience, but the gift of BoTW for me is that it is so open. It's like a Hyrule simulator, that just lets you exist in this wonderful fantasy place, where you can do whatever you like, whenever you like.
