This week we closed out with an Animal Crossing Direct broadcast that detailed the final free content coming to the game, plus the Happy Home Paradise paid DLC. The broadcast also confirmed the price and date of the Nintendo Switch Online Expansion Pack (not Pass, Pack!), too. Earlier in the week we also got our first good look at Pokémon Blimey This Is A Long Title When You Have To Type It Out A Dozen Times A Day. And the MetrOLED train just keeps on rolling. Phew!
After all that, it's time to chill out and discuss our weekend gaming plans. A few members of the Nintendo Life team have done just that below, so feel free to give our entries a read and then join in with your own via our comment section. Enjoy!

I think I'm near the end of Metroid Dread, it seems that way; I've been taking my time and enjoying it a lot. I need to get back to Eastward too, which is charming and rather marvellous, while my annual playthrough of Resident Evil 4 is still merrily ticking along.
On non-Nintendo hardware I'll try and dip back into some Back 4 Blood co-op, I had a lot of fun starting that this week with my brother and couple of downright terrible AI bots. Still, AI is probably preferable to random players, I suspect.

I'M BACK ON THE MINECRAFT TRAIN. I'll hopefully be helping a few friends learn the Minecraft ropes in our shared server, and building all sorts of cool structures together!
And when I'm not Minecrafting, I'll be wondering if I should hop into Animal Crossing: New Horizons again... I still haven't checked if my island made the leap to my new Switch. I'm too scared to find out if I lost it all.

Hello. I’ve gone kind of mad downloading stuff just to see how it looks on the OLED Switch, so this weekend I’m going to be doing lots of hopping around my back catalogue as well as digging into Splatoon 2’s Octo Expansion for the first time. I’ve got Astral Chain downloaded (looks insane on this new screen), Breath of the Wild and Super Mario Odyssey will be getting dusted off and I’ll also be turning out all the lights and sticking my Bluetooth headphones in for some all-encompassing Tetris Effect: Connected action. I’m thoroughly enjoying my new toy.
Have a good weekend, whatever you’re doing or playing!

My OLED arrived a little late, so I'm catching up to everyone reeling about the screen — it's incredibly hard to go back to the original Switch. This is by no means an essential upgrade but has me going back through my library to see what games can really make this thing sing.
First on the agenda is a second Metroid Dread playthrough. The initial run was handled on my the launch Switch and while I used the OLED to pick up the remaining collectibles, I really want to see the whole game through again on this beauty.
I imagine that won't be an incredibly long session so now's probably a good time to dive back into Fire Emblem: Three Houses. I've had the game since launch and I always end up getting distracted but I'm hoping the new display helps keep me on track — especially as the tiny font should be more legible on the slightly larger screen.

Hi folks! I've got a big wedding to attend this weekend (best man, right here), so I won't be getting round to a lot of gaming. Once it's all done, though, I'll be heading right back into Metroid Dread and starting a new run in hard mode. What a game; I can't believe the leap in quality over Samus Returns (which was already great!). It'll definitely go down as one of my favourite entries in the series.

Hey, its my birthday! I’m way too many years old. To no one’s surprise I am still slowly making my way around Planet ZDR in Metroid Dread. Since the series usually takes a back-seat to the more popular Nintendo franchise releases every new game usually turns out to be pretty special… and I’m enjoying it immensely despite only some very short gaming sessions so far. I will also be returning to my youthful F1 fandom years with Horizon Chase Turbo - Senna Forever DLC expansion. I reckon this one could be it’s own stand-alone game!
Game of the week is Gleylancer. Sure, it only took a few decades to finally own one of the Mega Drive’s finest shmups but I at least I did not need to sell any body parts to purchase it. Both original and updated versions are excellent and remind me how much I miss NCS games in general.
As always, thanks for reading! Make sure to leave us a comment below with your weekend gaming plans!

My OLED Switch arrived today so instead of playing anything I’m currently going through the tedious process of getting my hundreds of game icons back on my menu. Once that’s done it’s probably back to Kentucky Route Zero which I started last night after finishing Ni no Kuni II. Might check out what Groove Coaster looks like on the OLED later too but the lack of Flip Grip makes me sad.
Dread at least. Want to see the ending so badly after having played all metroid games in the last four months
And maybe some animal crossing? Been a year I think….
Switch: I finally 100% Super Mario Oddyssey and Im very proud of that. Such a great and at times challenging game.
I took a chance on Metroid Dread and loving it so far even though I've barely started (just beat the 2nd Emmi).
Series S: Back4Blood with friends!
Have a nice weekend everybody.
Some AC and after having finished Suikoden last week I am working through Suikoden 2. Once done, I will FINALLY start playing Suikoden 3, which I've been meaning to do for over a decade, lol.
Stuck on the Metroid Dread final boss. Brilliant game.
I finished Dread in Normal and Hard modes and now my life feels empty.
I'm replaying the Voice of Cards demo on my OLED Switch before the release, and then I'll jump in Luigi's Mansion 3. Still have that one pending.
Fifa 22, despite the haters
Also need to put more time into completing the Spyro trilogy
Managed to clear up Dread an Bayo2 in the same day so i will be looking in to the back log to see what i fancy. God knows there is enough there. May finally start Xenoblade remaster or jump back in to Tokyo mirage FE but i know i will end up on something else.
Metroid Dread and Eastward.
Trying to play Diablo, but, ya know
...
Gonna play through Dread and do it a lot faster.
I was actually playing ni no kuni 2 on the ps5 and castlevania on the switch but got surprised with an Xbox Series X and ultimate gamepass yesterday so I started playing halo 1.
Besides that I installed bug fables, carrion, dead cells and some other games I’ve wanted to play for a while now.
I've been playing Metroid Dread and then using Animal Crossing to calm down afterwards.
Just finished Carrion, excellent game.
Started Scott Pilgrim and still going on Dead Cells.
Still playing Cruis'n Blast, good fun.
@Mahatma I just started the game myself. How long has it taken you to reach the end?
Dungeon Encounters
I purchased the special edition of Dread the first day it was out but I’ve yet to start it.
I was having buyers remorse and was going to return it. but I finally found the will to open the huge box for the small cartridge and will indulge this weekend
I tried to play through all the Kingdom Hearts games again (barring UX and MoM) before Sora comes out for Smash Bros. I started after the announcement. I made it through 1, CoM and ReCoM (because I'm dumb), 2, ReCoded, and BbS. I am about halfway through 358/2, and I sure am not going to make it in time, but i am still having a lot of fun.
Dread. First game I’ve played for ages that’s really grabbed me and won’t let go. Even when I’ve been tempted to throw in the towel, generous checkpoints have made it easy to have just one more try… blue EMMI finally down this morning 👍
All with a side of Slay the Spire and Rocket League naturally.
I'll keep playing Metroid Dread... and in-between I'll keep with my completion of console generations. Right now I'll be with the Gameboy's Kid Dracula and I'll give it a try at Conker's Pocket Tale. Just finished The Frog for Whom the Bell Tolls... little great game for its era.
Crysis 2.... metroid dread last boss fight.... disco elysium switch....
Metroid Dread...again. Beat it on Normal in 7.5 hours and then took an additional 2.5 for 100% item collection.
Beat it on Hard in 6 hours last night...but on a different save file and now I'm kicking myself because the ending rewards aren't shared between files...so now I gotta do it again on my OTHER file...but hey, at least I'm dying to play the game more, so I got that going for me, which is nice
I could go for the under 4 hours...but I doubt I'd be able to do it just yet...
I find myself leaning towards Zero Mission over original Metroid after all, like the wuss I am, but I've yet to start it anyway. Maybe this weekend? But only if I load it to my other Vita which I generally don't plan to do before wrapping up some cataloguing work on the whole romset. That said, I may well scratch the metroidvania itch through a bunch of other games from Exile's End and Airship Q on Vita to Grizzland, Bloodstained, Dead or School, Ghost Parade and Dust on Switch (although the latter should still see more progress in Portia, Niffelheim, Broforce, Shining Resonance Refrain and Path to Mnemosyne first and foremost). Might even start specifically hunting for Castlevania SotN since it turns out I need a separate playthrough to unlock it (I'm on stage 3 and the goddamn item is somewhere on stage 3' after a branch path I had no idea it was even possible to take). Not sure when I'll ever beat Rondo itself, even the stage's regular enemies are wiping the floor with me even more often now.😅
What PC time I may have will likely feature same-olds like Just Cause 2, FFXIII and Red Faction, 3DS may see more Rune Factory, Endless Frontier and/or Fire Emblem.
Metroid Dread!!!!
Also feeling like playing 3d all stars
on ps5 i'm playing far cry 6 and lost judgement
I played about an hour of Dreadtroid Med yesterday and uncovered a bunch of the map and found a bunch of stuff, and then I made a dumb mistake and fell into lava and lost ALL of that progress. Maybe I shouldn't play at 1am when I'm already incredibly tired from a long, busy day. Hey I know, I'll do that again today!
@Gwynbleidd I loved Okami. And I still remember the part where I thought that I was finished--and there was quite a bit more. I would have been happy with the game, and then it added more. It is truly a magical game. Enjoy!
Blue Fire is amazing! Burnout Paradise is crazy fun. Townscaper is so chill, relaxing and creative. And a little Rocket League and New Horizons.
Happy gaming everyone!
Metroid Dread.. first foray properly into the Metroid series having played Super and Prime 1 for about 15 mins each. It’s so good. Tense, compact, satisfying. Samus moves really nicely. I can see why people talk up Metroidvanias now.. seems a good time for the Ori double back to be coming out. 😍😍😍
Donkey kong jungle beat
Streets of rage 4
@idork99 I had this remorse.. wishing I had just got standard edition and saved money for another game.. alas I cracked my copy open after a week and am now loving it:
Conker's Bad Fur Day and Guardian Heroes. Tried Wind Waker but my free GameCube has some health issues.
Colin McCrae rally PS1. I have Codemasters rally games for PS2, Xbox 360 and PS4 (Dirt) - for pure fun this PS1 classic beats them all hands down.
@Oberzilla Conker! Such a classic & well worth going back to. Are you playing on N64?
I would be playing Dread but am stuck on map 3 and keep going round in circles! Lol
I’ll pick it up again soon.
In the meantime I bought Sackboy on the PS5 (for a bargain £33) which I love but trying to complete levels is proving challenging I have to say….yes I’m a pretty average gamer! 😁
I just bought a Legion 5, so I'll be spending some time on that playing Age of Wonders: Planetfall.
On the Switch, most likely continuing Slay the Spire and R-Type Final 2.
@Mahatma you will get there. He obliterated me the first few times but now i can beat him without taking a hit. Only boss i can replay due to reloading my last save.
Tetris Effect for more visual/audio goodness (man, it's so good!); will also do this weekend's Ritual whilst I'm at it.
And more Monster Train, gradually working on getting more Covenant 25 Divine Victories with all clan combinations (7 down, 23 to go).
As Super Robot Wars 30 nears it’s got me excited to pick back up Super Robot Wars T. But also to watch a lot of mecha anime (Code Geass, Gundam, Evangelion films), so that’s squeezing my gaming time. Probably until SMT V lands.
Otherwise I’d be tempted by Caligula Effect 2, and I’m holding off getting Disco Elysium until it’s patched, on sale, or both.
I need to start pulling weeds cuz they got me back on animal crossing. But mostly my second run on metroid
Given I completed Metroid Dread at 100% items completion a few days ago, I'm now back to a Xbox focus this weekend. MCC Season 8 went live a few days ago (the last MCC Season) so I'll be playing a bunch of that alongside more Halo 5. If I do play my Switch this weekend, it'll be Super Monkey Ball Banana Mania which I started before Metroid Dread.
Metroid Dread baby! and also Super Smash Bros Ultimate, Dragon Ball FighterZ, BOTW, Picross4
@andykara yes. I just got an N64 along with a ridiculous number of other consoles. A friend didn't know what to do with six of them and only one appears to be scrap.
I played Gamecube games for this weekend.
1. The Sims Bustin' Out
2. Kao the Kangaroo: Round 2
Like others, I'll be playing Dread. Just got the speed booster thingy. My first Metroid and I'm really enjoying it, even if I need to look up a lot on where to go!
@Oberzilla Love it - I’m a collector as well, just about reigned it in before it took over my whole life.
I don't say it lightly, but Metroid Dread is tremendous.
Finally feel like we got the Metroid game we deserved.
Hats off to everyone who worked on that game, as its truly something special.
Ori and the Blind forest on Switch
Batman Arkham Asylum PS5
Sackboy a Big Adventure (Free Trial)PS5
Rocket League PS5
Have a great weekend everyone!
Dungeon Encounters is what'll likely be taking most of my game time, that game is quite interesting and it's hard to put it down, currently have reached the 3rd tier of floors, IIRC exactly floor 20 is where I last left off. I've come to learn that this game doesn't feel the need to always playing nice and honestly that's very refreshing in its own way, I cannot wait what sort of hellhole the game will turn into on the later floors, at this point it feels like anything could happen.
The direct also did enough for me to boot up the evergreen Animal Crossing game, trying to scurry to get all the neat halloween stuff since I've never partaken on that before.
I’m not playing any video games this weekend. I’m going to a Vegan Block party in Key Biscane, FL. I have been playing Castlevania Advanced and have yet to play Dread. I am in a Metroidvania rabbit hole and I will not be getting out of it anytime soon.
@thenewguy 19 hours. 82% item completion so far.
Must not buy Metroid dread…
Coming towards the end of Aria of Sorrow and have really enjoyed it
I'm 60 odd hrs into ni no kuni wrath of the white witch. Honestly, so much to do its ridiculous. I've definitely found a groove with the boss battles and how to handle the idiotic decisions of my ai friends
Animal Crossing, let the salt reign
lol losers
Despite I wanted to play Super Mario Odyssey... I'm decided to finish off Resident Evil: Revelations. Already finished 6, 7, and 8 Episodes. Will play game later today. Also, I'm beated a couple of levels in Deadbolt. It's an underrated and cool action-stealth game. And... I'm finished Story Mode in Guilty Gear XX ΛCore Plus R as Venom and Ky Kiske on Path 2. That's all.
On the Switch, I got back to Quake, so I'll be playing more of that. I'm glad they finally fixed the music bug, it's like a completely different experience now! I just finished episode 2 in my last session, so I'm about halfway through as far as I can tell. I'm returning to New Horizons to prepare for the new update as well since it seems to fix a fair amount of the problems I had with the game at launch. I haven't touched it in a year, so I've got to remember what I wanted to do with my island and prepare space for the new crops and things like that.
Outside of the Switch, I really need to get back to Xenosaga Episode I. I'm pretty sure I'm coming up on the end of the game, so I want to get it out of the way. I want to start on Silent Hill as well, and Silent Hill 2 after that. I've only played a little bit of the first game, so I'm excited to jump into that series! Dragon Ball Z Kakarot on PS5 is another one I'll probably play for at least a little bit.
@Kidfunkadelic83 yeah I will get there. There have been about 2 or 3 bosses that really owned me but I keep trying. The bosses communicate their moves really clearly so the pattern can be learned - it's consistent and great.
This is a Metroid Dread weekend, nothing else
@thenewguy Whoa, it takes a lot of time and dedication to 100% Odyssey, but I'm pretty sure you've had a blast playing it. Hats off, man!
i have become addicted to rune factory 4 special help me
@Mahatma cool!
Using my oled these days, so im trying to many games to list, but Marvel ultimate alliance 3, mario kart and cozy grove gets alot of attention 😊
@John_Deacon Thanks. Havent really played it the last couple of years but decided to mop up the last moons a couple weeks ago. Had so much fun with this game, rage quitting included. Haha. Have a nice day!
Edit. Good luck with Metroid Dread. I'm in the same boat as you.
Almost at the end of Monster Hunter Stories 2
Mostly Rocket League, but also Quake (on PS5 for 120fps motion controls), Tetris Effect, Metroid Dread, Gleylancer, Bonito Days, and Wipeout Omega Collection.
Halfway through Limbo in my pledge to clear my backlog of small games before I start something bigger. Nice and atmospheric and some clever puzzles but glad it’s not too long. Started Horace before that but bailed on it as I wasn’t really enjoying it enough.
But anyway spent more time this weekend solo board gaming, getting my arse handed to me by Robinson Crusoe, which I’ve thoroughly enjoyed.
@MSTRDM Nice. I'm considering buying it once I wrap up Metroid Dread.
O nothing, just a little game called Metroid Dread. For me, game of the year!
There can only be one - Metroid Dread.
More Borderlands 1 for me. It's my first time playing in single player (I would always play in co-op with my wife). Its surprisingly difficult at times not having someone else to distract the enemies. Fighting skags head-on was annoying since they're armoured in the front. Still, I'm having a blast, since this game is one of my all time favourites. I wish i could sound interesting and say I'll try other games this weekend, but it's unlikely that I'll play anything else.
@moodycat Oh my God, I was the exact same! I loved Luigi's Mansion 1, but I HATED Dark Moon. It still remains one of the most disappointing games I've ever played in my life. I couldnt stand the tedious and repetitive mission structure, limited controls and uninspired environments. I was going to pass on Luigi's Mansion 3, but after reading up on it enough, it seemed to not contain those problems. I decided to ask for it for Christmas, and I really enjoyed my playthrough! I still think the original is best for the atmosphere, but 3 is a darn good follow-up. It's totally worth the risk. I was pleasantly surprised! I also played a few hours of The Last of Us on PS4, and I couldn't get into it either. That stealth combat ruined it for me.
Metroid Dread for me, i'm loving it!!!!
@Shiryu will you be doing a review of the Horizon Chase Turbo DLC? I also loved watching F1!!
I would love to play some more Castlevania but I am expecting to get roped into cleaning my island in Animal Crossing... The direct got my girlfriend excited and she's not going to want to play alone.
Metroid Dread and Dying Light (Got it 4 days early from my Local retailer😉)
Been going back to games I've already finished since having the Switch oled (Witcher 3, Luigi's Mansion 3, Mario Odyssey, ect). This weekend I'll probably get back on Metroid Dread, Dying Light Platinum Edition will be delivered today so I'll definitely be playing that over the weekend. (Can't wait to see how it looks on the Switch oled). Currently finished Alan Wake Remastered on PS5 but I still have the DLC's to play and I'm going to go for the Platinum trophy 🏆. That's about it. I hope everyone has a great weekend!
Just started playing The Good Life. Such a lovely awful game, my kinda jank
Well I just finished Metroid dread with 100% of items which took about fourteen and a half hours so now I'm wondering what to play next. I still need to finish Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade and Demons Souls so I might tackle those this weekend.
I'm also in the mood to revisit Animal Crossing after watching the direct too, so maybe a bit of that as well.
@MarioBrickLayer not likely, but someone else from the gang might!
Mostly hopscotch with my friends
@Shiryu I haven't played Horizon Chase Turbo yet, it was near the top of my list before the DLC, now it's a must buy!! It looks epic!! I'm just waiting to see if they release a new physical edition.
Switch: Playing metroid dread.
Xbox: Fifa 21 with friends and maybe trying pubg.
Phone: Jumped back in to clash royale because my friends are playing it
Kunai. Because it's actually good
@MarioBrickLayer I would buy it again. xD
Hopefully finishing up Metroid Dread, if that happens I plan on playing Super Monkey Ball Bananamania.
Finished dread twice, I do like it but I don’t love it. I salute the 100 per centres I tried and failed. I resorted to YouTube to look up those evil speed boost shines park puzzles and instantly gave up. These are things that were not mentioned in the controls as far as I know so has soured me. Anyway I think gleylacer with 20 per cent discount xxx
With the announcement of the DLC and the Update for Animal Crossing: New Horizons coming next month, i'll be playing that for a couple of days to prepare for those.
Fortnite. Mannnn, I wish switch could do 60fps on it.
metroid, warioware, story of seasons, lego jurassic world, hot wheels, tetris effect, neo twewy, the great ace attorney.... i bought disco elysium but it's soooooo boring for me
Finally got into Pokémon Sword. Starting my adventure with that and will also throw in some Mario Golf.
Still playing Metroid Dread, hoping my heart will work until the end.
Other than that, I'm playing two card battle games on Switch: Super Dragon Ball Heroes and Yu-Gi-Oh! – Legacy of the Duelist. Two fun titles! No masterpieces, but entertaining, and sometimes that's enough.
Will 100% my first playthrough of Metroid Dread today (only the final boss left) and then I'll play Ori and the Blind Forest after that. Have a great weekend folks!
@Shiryu Good idea!
BTW, Happy Birthday!!!
Eastward. Loving it, much more that expected.
I keep putting poor bravely default 2 on the back burner. With that said, it'll just be metroid dread all weekend.
Dread!!! Stuck on the final boss the past three days
@Hurblyburbly
Just a hint for Dread if you want it: You don’t progress from area map to area map without going back (In Samus Returns I think you did), but in this one you have to go back to previous areas to use your new abilities to progress. Look for areas that can be opened with your new ability across all the maps you have access to. Sometimes the game does a pretty good job of pushing you back where you need to go without really telling you, but not always.
I’m still playing Dread. I’m not sure how close to the end I am, but I am really enjoying it and making good progress. I would guess I am like 70-80% through the story but I am not sure. There is a chance I may even try to 100% items on this game, which is something I generally don’t do. Depends how tedious it is to do.
Probably another play-through of Touhou 8: Imperishable Night.
And another permadeath Dark Souls 2 SL1 run. I like my games intense, sometimes
@MarioBrickLayer Thank you! v ^_^
Metroid Dread, of course! Any one else love the catharsis of filling in every inch of the map with color? Anyway, happy weekend everyone!
Recently got hollow knight instead of metroid dread mainly bc of the pricetag, but since I'm loving hk so much, I might try dread down the road. I seriously underestimated how much fun this was. I originally just purchased it to hold me over while I wait for Pkmn LA, but i may not get it simply because I haven't finished hollow knight!
PS finally beat hornet, The trick is to learn her attacks till you can recognize them and dodge them 60-70% of the time, then attack at every opportunity. If you are at one edge of the battlefield and hornet is at the other readying her needle throw you can use this time to heal because both her lunge and needle throw will miss.
@shiryu - Happy birthday! Hope you have a wonderful day!
I'm going to be playing some Gleylancer, they made the best shmups in the 90s!
I'm also into Knockout City, although I just started and I'm still learning. If anyone else plays that, let me know.
This past week, I got Hades and Metroid Dread, and they both are excellent so far, ESPECIALLY Metroid Dread! I also beat every normal puzzle and clip puzzle in Picross S2 so now I need to get Picross S3…
Y’all have a good weekend!
DREAD!!! Second playthrough. The game has consumed me. GOTY, might be the best in the series and the genre.
YS IX: Monstrum Nox, on Switch. It runs awfully. VIII was so much better
Stay awhile and listen…
I finished Dread during the week, and so I’m going to let that breathe for a second. Haven’t played an authentic 10/10 in a long time and, man, that was something. Not only that, but it’s a 10/10 where literally the only thing I could complain about is that Raven Beak had too much health and my poor hands were ready for the end because of how many times I beat phase 1 and 2 with no damage only to lose on phase 3 because I got sloppy and had to do it all over again… But that’s also a compliment to the game.
I suppose it could be time to boot Alan Wake up. Or Super Monkey Ball?
Replaying Mario + Rabbid Kingdom Battle
ACNH, Then going to start the week with an ending: playing Sora in Smash Ultimate.
Dragon Quest 11 and Animal Crossing for one fish that needs bait and disappears for 6 months in November so got a lot of time to spend on the pier.
DS: Dragon Quest Heroes: Rocket Slime - I think I'm close to the end. Only three more Slimes to save, then endgame time! Love it so far. One of the finest spinoffs I've played.
Switch: Luigi's Mansion 3 - This year's Halloween game. I've only played about an hour so far, but the visuals are charming! It feels very much like a Luigi's Mansion title.
Happy gaming!
Dreadful week again.
Still Baldo 20h in and I’ve only touched the surface. Guess with that amount of hours I would have finished Dread ...
I've been playing Metroid Dread just like most people and I'm also continuing Final Fantasy IX. I love both of them a lot so far. However, I have so much school work to do this weekend so I'm a bit sad I probably won't get to play much.
Getting somewhere in Metroid Dread now. Must be getting fairly close to the end. Will try and wrap it up this weekend and then I'll be back to Tales of Arise.
The Walking Dead (Switch) - Playing the first season. I'm close to finishing episode two. I love playing this during Halloween!
Equalicious (Windows Phone) - On the final stretch now!
Rayman Fiesta Run (Windows Phone) - Also rounding around to the final stretch of this game as well.
Gonna try Crysis remastered, might play some runs of Tony Hawk
Plan to finish both Metroid: Dread and Atelier Rorona DX this weekend. After that I’ll probably continue working on No More Heroes and Cuphead (I’m so close to the end)
Finished Super Mario 3D World last night, trying to decide whether to start the Bowser's Fury campaign right away or save it for another time. Definitely lots of Tetris Effect and I'll probably start Blossom Tales today too.
@Rogueleader76 Thanks! v ^_^
Probably nothing, as I've got four evening shifts, Fri-Mon, and a very persistent head cold that just won't sod off!
Tetris Effect - still beautiful. This will likely be a regular for me for awhile.
Rogue Legacy - I just now got as close to 100% (if that even makes sense for this game) as I want after many many hours. Amazing game, but I need a break.
When the Past was Around - a short but lovely game I'm playing for a breather.
Rogue Heroes: Ruins of Talos - because I apparently needed to play another game with 'Rogue' in the title.
Super Metroid - I may have paused this after getting temporarily lost, but back to it.
Hatsune Mike Logic Paint - my lazy brain needs some Picross.
I’ll still be slowly going through Breath of the Wild and Link to the Past... not really anything else, it’s a Zelda weekend for me!
Metroid Dread, I'm reallyh enjoying it! And also Batman: Arkham Knight on PC. It was ridiculosly discounted on Steam, and on the gameplay side, it's a fantastic game!
Yesterday’s direct got me excited for animal crossing again so I’m heading back to clean up my island and get things ready for the new content! Will also be picking away at Metroid Dread. Metroid is one of my favorite series, up there with Legend of Zelda so I’m really enjoying it! Eastward is another one I’ve gotten into that I’ll certainly get back to at some point. After a little dry spell for me the switch is picking up steam again with Pokémon arceus, botw 2, monhun expansion, and new AC content. Now if I could find an Oled model to swap my OG switch with I’d be in heaven.
Just beat Metroid Dread a few minutes ago. What an ending!
@jon128
Thanks for the advice mate. I’m a complete novice at Metroid games and have never played one previously.
Metroid: Dread
Recently finished Age of Calamity. Determined to finish castlevania circle of the moon before I start Metroid dread. I need to be better about finishing the games I start. Those GBA castlevania games were some of my favorites.
I am currently running through a bunch of run n' guns, beat 'em ups, shmups, and others I haven't taken the time to play. I won't get through all of this list today, but this is what I am trying to get played:
Rocket League, completing this weeks Haunted Hallows, Batman themed challenges. Playing 3v3, Gotham Rumble. - using Batman Dark Knight goal explosion on every car.😁
Attending to some of my backlog...
After those are eventually completed, I'm gonna take a break from my Indies and start Luigi's Mansion 3 & Xenoblade Chronicles HD.
Finishing up Metroid Dread - pretty sure I only have a few upgrades left to find, as I just got the last suit.
I just grabbed Tetris Effect Connected on switch. I already own it on ps5 and oculus, but I couldn't help myself, it's my favorite version of tetris and it's portable! Plus it'll look fantastic on my oled switch!
I’ll definitely continue Shadowverse: Champion’s Battle. I’m almost done with Chapter 6 and having an absolute blast still. I also want to play some Super Mario Party with friends, because Mario Party Superstars is coming soon and I’m in a Mario Party mood because of it! If I have extra time I’ll play Great Ace Attorney Chronicles or Monster Hunter Stories 2.
I've been going through a lot of my backlog lately, since I've made a lot of impulsive buys regarding various games within the past month or two. I went back to Team Sonic Racing, realized soon afterwards that I forgot how painfully dull and generic the story is. I'm motivated to return to my very plain island in New Horizons and actually decorate it for once (I was never one to enjoy sandbox styled games). I've also returned to Overwatch, given the Halloween event and all. I've also been playing through a lot of old 3DS games that I seemed to neglect for no reason. Regarding non-Nintendo games, I recently bought a used copy of Yooka-Laylee on PS4, so I've been enjoying that gem for the past couple days now.
I started playing the messenger. Cool game, but the music made me mute the TV
@Lilmonix3 My condolences. My grandmother turned 93 on the 8th and I worry about her a lot. She's not doing too well.
I beat Dread this afternoon (A++++++), so back to Great Ace Attorney 2! Two cases to go…
@Divinebovine dang, I absolutely love the music in that game. I hum the shopkeeper music to myself pretty much daily. Some of the tracks are pretty aggro though, I can see how it could be a turnoff
Currently playing through Bioshock: the collection, although I've only gotten a little bit throught the first one so far.
Would 9/10 recommend to anybody, is missing motion aim!
I pre ordered dying light and came early! I'm playing that this weekend and loving every minute of it!
@thenewguy Its quite refreshing compared to Pokémon although plenty of similarities, story is thin but enough too keep you interested and playing, but I dont think it will be playing it pvp or invest anlot of time the aftergame
I'm just gonna be playing more Yo-kai Watch 4 like usual.
playing Monster Hunter Rise when i wait for the 2.0 update of Animal Crossing New Horizon to go back to the game, and soon i will play Metroid Dread
Switch - put some good time in on Super Mario Odyssey yesterday. Also played some Cruis’n Blast.
Series X - Back 4 Blood and Ryse: Son of Rome
PS5 - Hot Wheels Unleashed is my chill-out game. 😄
I played a little of AC, my island needed a lot of cleaning after months. And I'm playing kakarot and eastward, and the great ace attorney
@JBone the first levels music is incredibly annoying and repetitive. Got a little better after, but still gets muted lol
@MSTRDM I see. Thanks for your input!
Late to the party, but Metroid Dread and finally revisiting Rapture in the Bioshock collection - a bargain at £13.99 from Game of all places!
I'm going to start Metroid Dread so I can stop dodging spoilers, and eventually return to older entries when I can. I have a few games to play, and I think I'll get back to finishing the main campaign of 3D World to hop into Bowser's Fury.
I still have my Wii U, and I think I'll finally play through Paper Mario on it. I never actually finished the game, so I'm excited to return to it for a fresh perspective.
I've been playing Dungeon Explorer DS. It's actually really addictive despite the terrible visuals. Trying to collect as many obscure DS hidden gems as possible.
@Lilmonix3 I see her often. She lives only about 3 blocks away. I don't go as much as I used to, but still go often enough. The reason being she is also starting to forget everything you tell her, up to 5 times or more in a single visit. It's a bit too much for me as she was sharp as a tack only 5 years ago. I could go on and on about how much she has fallen apart physically and mentally. I think you and I understand each other quite well on this topic though. Very glad to have spoken with you. I hope you feel better as soon as humanly possible. Peace.
