Re: Skyrim Still Doesn't Support Mods On Switch So Fans Have Taken Things Into Their Own Hands

Mr_Humpf

I've just started playing Skyrim on Switch (about 30 hours in) and although it's possibly a case of not missing what you've never had, I'm not at all bothered about mods. I've actually got a couple of the guys in the office playing Skyrim again - on a variety of different platforms and we're all helping each other out. One guy said that he was going to start over again, because he had gone in too hard with the mods and his character was ridiculously over powered and it was ruining the game.

Re: Rumour: New Nintendo Switch SKU Planned For Late 2019

Mr_Humpf

To be honest most people outside of the core fanbase (that read websites like NL) are not going to have any visibility of this update until much closer to the time - so I can't see it affecting sales in the short term. I would argue that the underwhelming release schedule for the first part of 2018 is behind the slow down in hardware sales, rather than any apathy towards the hardware itself.

Re: Guide: How To Link Your Fortnite Epic Account On Switch And PS4

Mr_Humpf

I had to set up a new epic account when I started playing on Switch. Now I can't unlink my old account from PSN to allow my newer account to connect. It says "Due to technical limitations with our backend, we are temporarily suspending PlayStation Network account unlinking. We hope to restore the functionality in November.".

Re: Soapbox: We Like To Grumble, But Nintendo Switch Online Is Actually A Very Generous Offer

Mr_Humpf

My primary issue is that membership is account based rather than console. I have three boys under 12 and we play mainly local multi-player on one Switch. Splatoon 2 is the only game that we really play online. I've not only got to start paying a subscription to keep on playing, I've got to pay extra so that my children can play under their own sub accounts. I think we'll all bundle on one account for now and see how it goes.

Re: Site News: We Want Your Help To Become Even Better

Mr_Humpf

I read the NintendoSwitch subreddit and there are too many cut and paste news stories taken from there. I read it and think, I'll see that on NL later. I'd like to see more developer interviews and original journalism - which you do very well. Some of the reviews lately have been a bit flakey. No in game screenshots, very little detail. I'd certainly like to see less of that. I like to see videos as part of the reviews too - actually within the review article - to see how the game looks in motion. Otherwise, I really like the site and I spend far too much time here. I understand that advertising is part of how things work. The site is not currently overloaded with adds. People complaining about advertising need a reality check. This is a free to visit site. How do you think people get paid? Keep up the good work!

Re: Review: Octopath Traveler (Switch)

It has that beautiful diorama feel to it, like you're looking into a magical miniature world... and that music! I'm really excited for this one. I only played the demo for a little while and then I stopped. I'd seen enough. I was sold!

Re: Poll: Is Your Nintendo Switch Cracking Under The Pressure?

Mr_Humpf

I currently have no cracks. I picked mine up last July so it wasn’t from the launch batch. I also don’t get to play it for longer sessions - no more than 1-2 hours at a time - and mostly undocked. I wonder which is more significant? I’ve heard people talking about this for some time. It’s clearly an issue.

Re: Review: Inside (Switch eShop)

Mr_Humpf

I've played a little bit of Inside on PS4 and thoroughly enjoyed it. I've also played Limbo on Vita and that's great too. I'll definitely get Inside again on Switch, but maybe when it's a little cheaper. If it launched at the same price as Hollow Knight, it would have been a day one.

Re: Review: Mario Tennis Aces (Switch)

Mr_Humpf

I really like the core game play. I'm playing through the Adventure mode at the moment and I'm having a lot of fun with it. I was initially very underwhelmed by its level of polish though. Some parts just seem rushed.

Re: Review: Shaq-Fu: A Legend Reborn (Switch)

Mr_Humpf

I know I'm one of the people that got it for free, but I'm really enjoying this game! It really doesn''t take itself very seriously. I found a lot of the jokes genuinely funny, with lots of pop culture references thrown in. The initial load time seems very long, but after that load times are fine.
