I never got to play GTA Vice City. So, I may pick up that GTA trilogy. Still hoping/waiting for the delayed Doctor Who Edge of Reality to release for Switch.
Q : What games on this list will you be checking out in the month of November?
Me : Well, Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Happy Home Paradise DLC for ACNH.
Can't believe you missed the wild at heart
Every month where Vroom in the Night Sky 2 doesn't come out is a wasted month and complete failure of the video game industry.
Knights of the Old Republic for me. Can’t wait to revisit that on switch.
Maybe Demon Turf and Death’s Door. Both require good performance reviews on Switch, in order for me to pick them up.
Already pre-ordered Happy Home Paradise and just (FINALLY) got the Fighter Pass 2 DLC on SSBU for my birthday. I really want SMT V, as well. I loved 4 and 5 just looks so much better. The DP remakes also interest me, in part because I wasn't into Pokémon when the games were first released and these look like games my kids would absolutely love.
Just Pokémon (as underwhelming as it is) and Game & Watch for me.
GTA is an easy pass with Rockstar/Take Two cheaping out on the carts... as usual. Sadly, I think Carnival Games is their only Switch release with the whole game on the cart.
The least cheapskate developers could do is issue 32GB carts for the initial prints and then cut corners if they are so adamant on producing a budget-priced release later (similar to how Ubisoft and Bandai reissue previous physical releases as code-in-a-case editions later on).
For now, I’ll be skipping GTA as I do not wish to reward Rockstar or encourage this sort of anti-consumer behaviour, as it sets an unfortunate precedent for future entries in the franchise on the platform. I may consider grabbing it for AU$30 or less as I did L.A. Noire when that went out of print, but I would have happily paid full price (hell, even more than that for a 32GB release) for an honest physical edition. I’m content with Chinatown Wars on DS and GTA V on PC in the meantime.
GTA Definitive Trilogy, SMTV and Knights of the Old Republic. Those are my three this month.
GTA will be digital since they couldn’t bother with a good physical release, but I’d rather just play it whenever I want.
Pretty much just want Pokémon but my kids also do. So it'll be an Xmas gift for us 3 I suppose. I also want GTA but that'll also be a December purchase with a physical copy
KOTOR, GTA, SMTV, and Game & Watch. Big week next week.
It's a good month for Switch. 👍
SMT5 is already preordered. I'll wait on everything else as my birthday is in two weeks and then it's the holidays, and my family always buys me at least one game, so we'll see what I get.
I've got the Zelda G&W, SMTV LE, A Boy & his blob and Asterix Slap em All LE pre ordered.
Thankfully Asterix will be later as it is from Strictly Limited Games, still have plenty to do though.
Dude, you forgot Balan Wonderworld are you kidding me?
@Silly_G I applaud you for sticking to your principles (which I also agree with)
Look, I know I'm a pedantic so and so, but there's 13 games coming to Switch here. Animal Crossing is getting DLC, and Zelda is a separate piece of hardware. I'm looking forward to them, but they're not "new games coming to Switch".
It's funny how any of the GTA trilogy games on PC w/mods crush the so called "Definitive Edition." They have had how long? Rockstar needs to get it together.
More SMT love!
Getting Pokemon Diamond. Interested for reviews on Tunche, Death's Door, Demon Turf, and Asterix because they all look adorable. Also somewhat interested in GTA and Shin Megami Tensei V because I haven't played either series but I wouldn't buy at full price. Some of those 6 will end up on my wishlist when I learn more.
Shin Megami Tensei 5, World War Z, and Pokémon all pre-ordered. I'll pick up the physical version of GTA in December.
SMT5, Dollhouse, Love Esquire and World War Z
Pokémon always day 1, GTA and KOTOR eventually. Nov is a good month. 👍
Knights of the Old Republic and Shin Megami Tensei V for me. I'll get the DLC for Animal Crossing later.
People who played GTA should know better not to take this offer from Rockstars maybe on ps/xbox/pc but deffinatly not on switch for making it download only. Physical version is included as download only.. Since you have to download anyways only thing you get is a box with a card and paper picture of a game As for games that comes only Pokemon. And even Pokemon games requires download of pokemons from stores and that's also stupid realease a game with in game pokemons that are not available in game Stupid as fuc....k When will people learn not to pay for dlc that in some games already have on release day just locked.
Animal Crossing New Horizons: Happy Home Paradise, GTA Trilogy, Shin Megami Tensei V and Pokemon Brilliant Diamond for me 👍🏻
@iaLgan lol you can't force people to do something you want them to do. People will buy the gta trilogy digital regardless and it will sell like hot cakes. Just watch.
@Silly_G Just because you want them to have 32 GB carts, shouldn't mean that they should do it. This is all an experiment from Rockstar/Take-Two to see if GTA Trilogy will sell on Switch. If it will then they will definitely look at bringing more rockstar games to the switch. + These 32 GB carts are really expensive to produce for something that is essentially just a gamble from Rockstar/Take-Two. A mainline GTA game has never been on a Nintendo console which is why this is so unique and special. Rockstar doesn't know if GTA will sell on switch yet.
Boy and His Blob, SMT V, Pokemon Shining Pearl, Animal Crossing DLC, GTA Trilogy, SW Knights of the Old Rep. All insta-buys
Asterix & Obelisk needs reviews for me
@LEGEND_MARIOID a lot of money that you will spend this month then
@broskiplays Q4, my friend. Always the case. SIGH
Shin Megami Tensei V is the must have this month.
But I will also get Pokémon Diamond and the Zelda Game & Watch.
Maybe the GTA Trilogy.
@broskiplays Not forcing to do anything just stating the fact Buy if you want but i highly doubt it will sell as you want/expect. Since most who want it will buy this on different platform. And if you and by you i mean rockstar want to experiment with this and wish people are so dumb to just take it fine do it. 32gb cards and a pack of 3 games should't be a problem for a company and GTA games. Heck even i would take it if it was 3 games in a single card for physical.
Decent month. Kotor for me then smt v in December.
If the control scheme is decent then I will get gta bundle - it’s a big if though.
I am 100% digital now anyway so the physical with download doesn’t come into play for me now. I actually dislike physical anything now - movies, games, books, music - even comics - I just sold my 5k+ issues marvel collection as it was just sitting there - loads of boxes packed with issues I would not read. It began to annoy me. Was pretty therapeutic just selling it all and replacing with some omnibus editions and an iPad Pro 12.9 and digital comics - in truth it’s an incredible reading experience
Amazing month! I want at least 6 of them lol.
@WoomyNNYes you might get them all 3. for that price
@Punisher67 Digital is ok and you can get it day one but let's say just for an example nintendo wii an old console with decent and great games. I can't go to shop and download games now. Good for those that had console when it was released and downloaded digital games that still works and all but what about if some1 buys used one and wants games digital hm? Can't get it what a shame Kinda sad that you sold your comics btw
It’s Shin Megami Tensi V vs Pokemon BDSP!
Which do I play first?
@graviton Go with Shin Megami Tensi V it will take maybe a week or two of playing and Pokemon well that might even take a year or more
@iaLgan Haha Are we sure there aren’t going to be any DLC for SMT5? With Pokemon, I am not sure if this remake will last a while like Sword/Shield, since the competitive scene will stay with SS, and not move to BDSP. There are rumours of a national dex heading to SS….
@graviton DLC is inevitable just like Thanos said in Avengers endgame And look what happened to him. On the other side don't forget Arceus legends game. But competitve stage will move on to new games i think.
@iaLgan Yes, the Pokemon competitive scene will move forward, but I don’t think they will make BDSP or Arceus their jump off point to next gen…. It wouldn’t make sense Haha, Do we know if Platium stuff will be dlc or already in BDSP?
I hope since i preordered both games But time will tell i will not be surprised it will.
What about The Smurfs: Mission Vileaf?? Why this game is not on the list? it looks good....
Demon turf, gta if the ports are good enough, pokemon, maybe deaths door and who knows maybe binding of isaac repentance comes out soon
@iaLgan its gta, ofcourse people buy it. It's a household name in the industry. Anything with GTA will be sold well. Just look at FIFA.
@iaLgan i think Vice City will be on the cart as that game is the smallest of the three. GTA SA is the biggest of the bunch. Ill be playing it a lot on my Xbox Series S too as the one i like the most (GTA SA) is on Game Pass Ultimate. But the portability will be a big one for me.
Has it actually been confirmed that GTA is not on the cart? I've read a lot of "apparently" and "seems like" on various sites based on the box art, but wasn't there another game recently where the leaked box art showed a download required, but when it actually came out it was all on the cart?
@broskiplays Not by much from Fifa2020 the sales are always down and on switch the sales are terrible Going down each year same will be with Gta doesn't matter what name you have built if you disregard people who wants to play and cares for games. You get what you get if you don't want to put any effort.
@dmcc0 Yes, it was Monster Hunter Stories 2, but Capcom is way different compared to Take-Two (more like no. 2). Take-Two, which owns Rockstar Games, has NEVER released a Switch game entirely on cart. They always have the requirement to download data (from 14 gb in LA Noire to over 20 for the latest NBA). It’s not wild to believe that the Trilogy will have at least one game with the requirement to be downloaded (honestly I think Vice City will be the one, while the rest will be on cart, as they should fit on a regular 16 gb one).
At least we can be thankful Rockstar is not Bethesda, famous for the Wolfenstein Youngblood and Doom Eternal blunders, so those who think GTA trilogy will only have a download-code-in-box can shut up
@Flashlink99 To be honest Capcom is a little different story look at the game size of let's say Resident Evil they would need to release each game on card. The size is huge for those games. And with this they could just make 32gb size card and be done with it Time will tell maybe we won't need any download at all and this will be forgotten. I mean 4-5-6 RE games on one card wtf would you expect each game is like 20+gb But with Gta different story they could do that if they wanted.
Even Capcom made a ***** move with releasing RE:Revelation and RE:Revelation2 as a download which is 23.6 while the first one is just 12gb so they could have put a 32gb card for second and the first for download yet wanted to save money
GTA In December, Pokémon peril and world war z.
@iaLgan Capcom is indeed far from being a saint on Switch, as they only released Street Fighter 2, Monster Hunter Rise and Stories 2 full on cartridge. I’m not really expecting any huge publisher to use the 32 gigs due to being cheapskates (CD Projekt is, or at least used to be, the only AAA studio with indie dev maneurisms). I only want to download as little as possible when buying GTA on cart, hopefully San Andreas is at least on cartridge in its fullest.
@Flashlink99 I think they get a pass for NBA - isn't that full game over 32GB? They'd need a download even with the biggest cart so makes sense to use the cheaper one.
The people that actually care about this (or care enough to not buy the game at all) is probably a tiny minority anyway so I doubt they'll change if it's worked for them in the past.
can't wait to play the GTA trilogy! not played them and think having them portable will make all the difference for me.
KOTOR will be good to play too, not sure I love the combat but I'll give it a try.
SMTV will be good to play too, enjoyed SMT3 but like most JRPGs I stopped playing after about 20 hours.
GTA trilogy! Switch badly needed a GTA game I think. It's finally here. So, Yahoo!
@dmcc0 exactly, download or not, I don’t really care about that as long as the game is great on Switch. Besides, the only hassle is getting a 256 gb card, or 512 if someone’s lucky enough. After that, everything is peachy.
Definitely getting Mega Ten; debating getting KotOR.
World War Z is on its way. But there's definitely some more interesting stuff. I played the GTA games originally, but redone on Switch, that has my attention. A Boy and his Blob I still have on Wii, but it really deserves more attention. Star Wars and SMT V go on the wishlist. Asterix has my attention as well, I love how true to the comics it seems, but I need to see teviews first, as it is by the same Microids that made graphic novel to game conversions like XIII (remake) and Blacksad. Both great reads, and the original XIII game was amazing, but... Well, this Asterix game seems to capture the essence of the comics, and as a game it seems to be of a different caliber, so I give them the benefit of doubt to prove themselves again.
A Boy and his Blob is a lovely game, I'll do well to stop myself buying it for the third time.
@SonyCanGoToHell I think there is, an older article showcased one with all sorts of extra tat.
I am still skeptical on the GTA games, I wanna know if the original playlists and radio stations are intact do they just lose songs or got the THPS1+2 route and add a bunch of (time approriate) songs to compensate for the lost ones.
I ordered both Pokémon Pearl & Diamond so I can play together with my girlfriend. But A Boy and his Blob looks so nice, I might get it as well.
Demon Turf looks interesting. SMTV is the only instabuy. I want KOTOR and GTA Trilogy but will get them both physically later
Edit: Also will get A Boy and his Blob. Loved it on Wii but never beat it.
And the best of them all: Binding of Isaac Repentance
Animal Crossing HHP, Pokemon, and GTA for me.
There are a few things here that got my attention(A Boy and his Blob, Shining Pearl, etc), even if I'm pretty much halted as far as games now because of priorities.
The big thing I'm torn on is GTA. It's the -rare- exception where I wouldn't be against just saying screw it and get the download copy but makes me want to wait to see exactly what is on the physical card before I make that decision. It sucks because I hate this half-assed physical practice for that price but I do really hope it sells well on Switch because this is big as far as releases go if it can please Rockstar.
Pokemon is going to make a ton of money. Looks fantastic.
@WoomyNNYes
You've never played Vice City? I wish I were you, so I could experience that game for the first time. But actually, it has endless replay value.
The closer we get to the Pokemon release I'm considering holding off until I get a used copy. After buying NSO + Expansion I think I have spent enough on games for a bit!
@MsMaestroon
That's the weird thing, if I hadn't bought the expansion, I probably would have spent double the amount on a game this month, but as it is, I'll most likely leave it.
I think the exorbitant price of the pack could well hurt them.
@Franklin Yeah, I'm glad I got it I've been having a bunch of fun. Switch games have always been hard to justify buying because they're so much more than any PC game I've purchased. Luckily they hold their value, so I can always sell what I don't play later on for a pretty good return.
