I bought my Switch in the launch window. I think the budget version with fixed joycons is a good choice. I'm less impressed with the idea of a pro version this soon into the life cycle though.

I've just figured out what I'm doing in in Octopath Traveler. So I'll be mostly travelling... with my octopus.

I still play local co-op with my my family quite a bit. I've bought both the Wii U and Switch versions and the DLC for both.

I downloaded the demos for Forgotten Anne and Monster Boy at the weekend. I was surprised at how many good quality demos there are now for Switch. This Splatoon announcement is more good news.

I know it's easy to get excited about the words Nintendo and VR in the same sentence, but come on people. Labo is a craft toy range, they're not trying to compete with Samsung or Playstation VR here.

I ended up going all digital on Vita, but only because Sony's digital sales were so generous and often. Nintendo's digital pricing is a joke. £49.99 for Super Mario Bros Ultimate Extra Extended Never Ending Edition Special Max. No thank you.

It looks great, but having gone to so much trouble with the giant Switch, those visible wires bother me.

Well I've already played Let's Go Pikachuu and Pokken Tournament with my family today, if I get five minutes to myself later (which is unlikely) I'm actually going to give Golf Story a spin. I bought it a few months back, but I've been working through my pile of shame and its moment has finally arrived.

@HumanDog plus Inane music and that depth of field effect made my eyes go screwy. I just spent my Yoshi budget on somethin else.

@OorWullie I've had it about a month and it's never crashed on me. I play it mostly hand-held and performance is generally fantastic - just the very occasional frame jump like you say. It really does take me back though, I've enjoyed the game so much.

@OorWullie in this Reddit AMA the team at Aquiris said a patch was on the way in January / February, so hopefully not too much longer now. Great game though. I might snap up Resident Evil Revelations 2 from the Play Together promotion (on until the 28th). I purchased the first one, and I'm really enjoying it. Nothing really from the above though.

I couldn't get into Witcher 3 on PS4 because I couldn't dedicate enough time to it. Having put well over 100 hours into games like BoTW and Skyrim on Switch because of the portability, I'd certainly like to give it another shot.

I've never been much of a Bayonetta fans, more because I dislike the characters than the actual gameplay itself. Nier Automata though I absolutely adore. This has now gone into first place as my most anticipated release on any platform.

The first Unravel was a beautiful game. I haven't played the second game, and now I will wait to play it on Switch. I think this game is a great fit for Nintendo Switch and it deserves to do really well.

@Charlie_Girl I read in another comment that putting both games on card was forced upon them in Asia because some regions don’t have access to the Eshop. I don’t know if that’s true, but it sounds plausible!

I went for Flame in the Flood. Great music, seems pretty enjoyable so far. Small text though. Had to get the Henry Swanson's out.

I am, and I have no idea why. I don't really play online (except for Splatoon) and I don't play the NES games either.

I have X / X-2 on PS Vita and there's just a little badge at the bottom to tell you that X-2 is a download - it certainly seems sufficient. I read that the only reason the Switch import version has both games on card is because some Asian regions don't have access to the eShop.

Nothing from the above, but I did just download Horizon Chase Zero and that is such a good time.

I'd really like to see basic gameplay footage become a more integral part of NL reviews - certainly for higher profile releases like this. Those are some chuffing awful screenshots.

This and Afterburner are pretty much untouchable in my book. Are there any plans for Afterburner.

This has zero appeal to me. It's the re-sale value that keeps me buying physical. Nintendo games are expensive and there are no significant discounts on the big titles on the eshop - at least not compared to the Playstation Store. I went digital only on Vita because I could pick up big games for low prices. That's not going to happen any time soon with Nintendo.

I'm more than happy to buy indie games that are £10-£20 digitally. When it comes to full price games however, although the convenience of having them digitally is attractive, I always buy physical. 1. They're cheaper. 2. I can sell them if I don't like them. 3. If they're big Nintendo Exclusives like Zelda, Mario or Smash, I just like having the physical game as part of my collection.

I'd definitely go for Horizon Chase Turbo if it wasn't a week before Smash and a month before Christmas. I'd recommend RIVE: Ultimate Edition if you're in the market for a decent shmup and you've got £6.74 to spare.

I've had this game since launch and it's never really clicked with me. I was playing it earlier today, and the only thing about it that I do really "get" is the music - it's beautiful. I'm half thinking of trading it in to make Smash Ultimate a little more affordable, but I have this nagging doubt that I'll regret getting rid of it!

If you're interested, Starlink Battle for Atlas is getting reduced in a lot of places. The starter pack was down to £34.99 earlier at Curry's PC World and it's £39.99 on Argos, Smyths and Amazon.

It doesn't "matter" in the grand scheme of things. It doesn't affect my enjoyment of the game. But the old logo was ugly, and I'm glad the've changed it.

A bit of Skyrim and a bit of Diablo.

I went for three months. Thought I'd see how it went until Smash. Two of my sons have profiles on my Switch. They're using their own profiles for games like Breath of the Wild and Super Mario Odyssey and we're all using mine for Mario Tennis Aces and Splatoon 2.

There was a joy-con update in there too. I'm not sure what it did though...

@Anti-Matter You mean the Deep Freeze bundle? That's just some in game currency and skins. They're taking advantage of the Christmas market. If you've got a Fortnite mad kid in the family it's an easy present!

I'm quite tempted by something scary - as it's the time of year for it! Outlast 2 looks amazing, but having watched RGT85 talk about it, I'm a bit concerned it's too messed up for me. I enjoyed Zombie U on Wii U, but that's really the only horror game I can remember playing. Is Resident Evil 2 in any way similar? Never played an RE game before.
