@zet As a UK gamer myself, the continued success of FIFA, CoD and GTA games doesn't reflect my personal tastes, or the tastes of other serious gamers that I know. Football (Soccer) is so big in the UK that games like FIFA will engage a lot of non traditional gamers that probably haven't bought a game since the last FIFA came out.
I downloaded it last night and played a little bit this morning. It's a fantastically well executed game. The animation, movement and control of the goose is flawless. Lovely music too. I've only terrorised a ground keeper so far - stealing his keys, carrots and radio and getting him wet in the sprinker - but that was a lot of fun!
I picked up Link's Awakening on physical, and Ori and Untitled Goose on digital. I really wanted Cuphead and Dead Cells from the sale but a) I've ony got so much time and b) I've only got so much money!
If you pre-order Luigi with Shopto in the UK you get a Glow in the Dark sticker sheet and Keyring for £39.85. I used them for my Link's Awakening pre-order. For the same price LA came with a really nice poster and keyring. It arrived a day early too...
I have to admit that I found it pretty distracting when I first started playing the game - and I was dissapointed that a big Nintendo release would lack polish in such an obvious way. I've played about five hours now though and it's stopped bothering me quite so much.
@CupidStunt @beazlen1 - I bought a £30 eshop code for £23.99 last week (20% off) from CD Keys, they're brilliant! I used it straight away to pre-order GRID Autosport. I found out about it on Hotukdeals.
From reading the Reddit AMA that the dev team did yesterday it seems like a lot of effort has gone into this port. They have clearly and openly stated that the multiplayer will be added in a free update. I for one, am fully onboard.
@LaytonPuzzle27 I grew up in the 1980s with the original Star Wars trilogy. I was really dissapointed by the three prequal films, but I loved The Force Awakens and Rogue One (I haven't seen Solo). The narrative of The Last Jedi didn't flow very well for me though. It felt disjointed and I didn't really enjoy it.
Sorry too many games and it didn't make the shortlist. I'm still playing Fire Embem and Astral Chain. I've got Link's Awakening, Luigi's Mansion and Pokemon on order. I'm sure I'll come back for it at some stage, I like the look of it.
I've got Link's Awakening and Luigi's Mansion pre-ordered, but I am tempted to kick Link's Awakening in favour of Dragon Quest (after playing the demo). It just seems like a lot more game for the money.
I actually enjoy most of the DF videos I watch. I find them interesting and objective rather than critical. I played an hour earlier, and when I sat down to play it again tonight, I actually deleted my game save so I could experience the opening of the game again - it's that good!
As a fan of The Wonderful 101, Bayonetta, Bayonetta 2 and Nier Automata, I don't think there's a chance I'll be disappointed - which is just as well because this game's all bought and paid for.
I'm Blue Lions. I love my tough guys Dimitri and Dedue but my heart belongs to Mercedes - whose spells have got me out of quite a few sticky moments. I find myself getting so involved! Last night I played for about four hours and in one battle I found myself saying out loud "Yes Merci, i frickin love you!".
@Kintypoo121 This is the truth. it's all well and good giving stuff away - everyone likes free - but can we just have an online infrastructure that actually works first!
I read the title on my phone and thought it said Zombies Burn It Up. Then I couldn't figure out why they'd used that picture, then I realised my mistake... and I was a little disappointed. (I have only just woken up).
@darthstuey I did go for a digital copy in the end, I had some store vouchers that I could use to buy eshop credit with - it just made sense to go digital. Lesson learnt!
I'm replaying the first Bayonetta at the moment and I can't tell you how much I'm enjoying it. I've also loved The Wonderful 101, Bayonetta 2 and Nier Automata. I'M SO EXCITED!
I started off playing it on hand-held. I thought the cinematics were cool, but the gameplay itself was rough. Frame rate drops, hard to tell what the heck was going on (5/10). I played it docked and thought it was a lot better - framerate was much more stable and I could figure out what I was supposed to be doing (6/10). I played it with my son local cop and we actually had a good time (7/10). It is a very mediocre game though, and without the fantastic character roster it would be nothing.
My launch window joycons started drifting after about 10 months. I sent them back to Nintendo and they haven't drifted since. A second pair started drifting after a similar amount of time. I've used the contact cleaner trick on those and so far it's worked (about 6 weeks).
@beazlen1 I struggle with finding the space to keep things and with having the time to play games, so I just keep moving forward. Different strokes and all that. I certainly don't think you're a loser (be kind to yourself). If my circumstances were different I'd probably do the same.
@beazlen1 I know a lot of people do like to collect, so I can understand that point of view - but I will have gotten rid of a long time before that. I sold my wii collection to fund my Wii U, my Wii U collection to fund my Switch and I'll probably do the same again to fund the next generation.
It doesn't bother me. I don't buy physical to collect, I buy physical for re-sale value. It's worth the same price even if it's a completely different game to the one on the cart - I'm looking at you Super Bomberman R.
@Lizuka I'd agree with you, but when are Nintendo games ever discounted? I tend to pre-order most of them, because it's the cheapest way to get them. If they turn out to be turkeys, I can get my money back by selling / trading. I got £40 for my copy of Kirby Star Allies and I payed £35 on pre-order.

I've played ARMs and Let's Go Eevee with my kids already this morning. Maybe if I get the chance I'll finish off Link's Awakening.

@Varathius This isn't my first rodeo. I'm just taking my time and enjoying it for what it is.
Re: Guide: Zelda Link's Awakening Walkthrough Part Six - Martha's Bay and Catfish's Maw
I never played the original, but I'm just passed the end of this walkthrough and my playtime says 10 hours or more. I must be on some kind of go slow.
