Re: Frame Rate And Resolution For Monster Hunter Rise Demo Revealed

Mr_Humpf

I've never been sold on Monster Hunter, but I really enjoyed this demo. I loved the music at the start - I sat and enjoyed the loop fully before I started playing. I've only played hand-held so far, but I thought it looked lovely and the performance was great. I'm looking forward to playing the full game now - a good demo for me.

Re: UK Black Friday Game Sales Are Down This Year, But Switch Is On The Rise

Mr_Humpf

How many miliseconds did it take for the Aldi Black Friday Switch deal to sell out? My sister tried to get onto their website at about 11.30pm at which time there was a queue of over 5,000 people. When she finally got to the front of the queue (just after midnight) they were all gone. That aside I haven't actually seen many gaming deals that have made me want to part with my cash.

Re: Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin Has Already Sold Over 500,000 Copies Globally

Genuinely very pleased for the developers.... but I haven't really enjoyed the game so far. I'm in two minds whether to sell it now and move on, or keep it in the hope that it might click if I come back to it in a little while. I was really expecting to prefer this over Age of Calamity but for all the faults of that game, it's just... well a lot of fun.

Re: Bandai Namco Hosting Super Switch eShop Sale, Games For Under $15 (North America)

@tourjeff tbh I haven't used Amazon myself, but I had read that other people have used it without problems. I've bought credit from PC Game Supply about three or four times. You pay in pound sterling (I use Paypal) so there's no conversion fee. Currently a $20 eshop card will cost you £15.74. You get an instant code. I bought Alien Isolation that way about a week ago.

@ss213 I found the easiest way for the US is to go the Nintendo.com US site and create an account. Then create a new profile on your Switch and link it to the US account. Use a tax free postcode like 97080 – Portland, Oregon to avoid extra fees. Now whenever you visit the eshop using that profile, you'll automatically go to the US eshop. I usually use PC Game Supply dot com to buy US eshop credit (you can also use Amazon dot com) - I find it easier than messing around with foreign currency. Anything you purchase and download on the US site can be played on your European account, and you can use any of your Switch profiles to play the game.

Re: What's Up With The Frame Rate In The Hyrule Warriors: Age Of Calamity Demo?

Mr_Humpf

It certainly killed some of my hype. I've got the original Hyrule Warriors and Fire Emblem Warriors and they both (especially the latter) look and run a lot better than this on Switch. Granted this is a much more ambitious project, but when you're developing for a single platform and the hardware is clearly not coping, why continue to push so hard?
