Re: Community: Which Switch 1 Games Benefit Most From Switch 2's New Boost Mode?

Mario Kart 8 always looked kind of pixelated to me because I always had the direct comparison with Mario Kart World in the back of my mind. It's a huge step-up and it looks great.

Smash Bros. Ultimate already looked pretty good during gameplay, but I noticed that icons and writing had jagged edges. These look fine now, too.

One thing I noticed before: hand-drawn 2D games like Night in the Woods, Mutazione and Broken Sword were upscaled a lot more smoothly than 3D games, so the difference is a lot less notable.

Wanna chime in with the "impossible port" crowd. They shouldn't throw this phrase around only because we're used to it. Doom and Witcher III were amazing on Switch, but the whole selling point of the Switch 2 is that it's more powerful and up-to-date. So getting fed this "you should be glad this game even plays on your Nintendo thingy" wording is simply annoying.

Re: Poll: So, Will You Be Getting Kirby Air Riders?

I watched the first direct and loved how excited Sakurai himself was ... but then I tried the demo and it really didn't do much for me. I found myself wishing for a more conventional control scheme. So I guess this is just isn't for me, but I hope fans of the first game will enjoy it.

Some of the games look right up my alley and I got „Is this Seat Taken“ right away. Great little logic game and the whole vibe reminds me of one of my favorite 3DS games, Brunch Panic.

That limbo state between Switch 1 and Switch 2 feels a little weird right now, though. I think Herdling could benefit from a Switch 2 upgrade, even if it‘s just higher resolution on the handheld screen.

Re: Talking Point: Will You Be Buying Any Game-Key Card Switch 2 Games?

McGloomy

The only scenario I see is putting games on my Christmas wishlist or giving them away as presents to others (but I also made personalized cards with eShop codes in the past, like when I wanted to gift Mutazione to my friends). A nice steelbook for a special game I look forward to might be tempting, but in general I'm against this new development. Might pick it up from the bargain bin if it's on discount, though.

Re: Nightdive Studios' CEO Says That Game-Key Cards On Switch 2 Is "Disheartening"

I don't need the sugar-coating. I can put my 25 years old Pokémon Yellow Edition into my 25 years old Gameboy Color and start playing. This device never knew the internet was a thing. And yes, there's bugs that could be patched out. But it simply works. And if I buy a physical game, I want that Gameboy Color feeling and not just a piece of plastic to put on my shelf.

Re: Every Nintendo Switch 2 Game-Key Card Release

I know technically this is not much worse than having SOME data on the card and having to download the rest … but it feels like a waste of plastic. I‘m not seeing myself re-selling these or talking my friends and family through the „lending“ process. It defeats the purpose of a physical cartridge. I was considering getting Yakuza 0 and/or Hitman for launch, but like this I‘ll just put them on my eShop wishlist and wait for a sale.
