If there’s no monster hunter game re-make, re master or new in the first year I will stick with my switch 1 for the time being.

Rumour line up - from what I’ve seen posted the rumoured line up and most of the first 8 month releases seem to be very odd choices and nothing I’m interested in. Unless the April direct proves different.

For the money I’d like to see some smaller releases like f-zero, 1080, wave racer even if it’s a re-skin of old code.

Keep it simple, tho the gimmick I’d like to see return is the sensor bar and Ir pointer so I can actually play some light gun games.

Tho sometimes gimmicky controls can kill a game.. Look at how the Star Fox flopped so hard because they pushed hard for gimmicky controls.

It’s been reiterated many times by Capcom, that they only just have wilds running on ps5 so the chances of it running on switch 2 are a long shot.
I can’t see it coming myself, tho maybe a cloud version.
I feel that a switch 2 exclusive is where they will have to go. But that wouldn’t be until the install base hits a major milestone a good few years in. so in the mean time we would probably get a port of world+iceborne(ultimate edition).

This game is such a disappointment of expectations for a HD remaster.

With many Mario games, we get a lot of replay from our kids but with wonder the difficulty curve is so great that they just gave up and have no interest in going back. That’s not very Nintendo.

Price issues aside the game just falls short of what is expected in today’s re-release, re-masters etc.
No funky Kong inclusion is a big loss. As the difficulty curve means that it’s not suitable for all. In all recent releases Nintendo has insisted on inclusion, and by adding helps and hints in each recent release such as the gold leaf box in Mario games, funky played his part for Dk games to leave this out now feels very lazy.
What’s new, well nothing, no extra level or a reverse mode, nope nothing.
And then add the performance issues for its age it’s really not a great package.

£349 is probably the cap for switch 2 in my eyes.

Never really wanted or needed to play a LOTR game.

@Jokerwolf I do agree, but when you go to the shop there’s not 10 versions of the PlayStation 4 on the shelf.
And this is where I think families will just see the S2 as another variation.

I imagine that unless you have a Nintendo online account with cloud backup saves your switch system based save file will need to be moved manually onto the sd card and then inserted into the switch 2 and either left there or moved to the internal storage.
*this would probably apply to games which don’t allow cloud save files too.

They might do a pairing thing similar to 3DS transfer but would probably require you to back up prior.

The fact the whole trailer just feels like a here’s a bigger version of the switch.
For families this advert just looks like another switch, another to add to the line up of switch, switch light, switch oled, switch Zelda, splatoon switch, switch monster hunter..
now here’s the one with a bigger screen and bigger joycons.

Not third party but I’m keen to see if the Nintendo official pro controller is gonna look any different as sadly the two joycons in the plastic mount look exactly the same…..so I’m thinking the pro will possibly be the same one

First - I think the big problem here is that the launch date is still 6 months+ away and in an effort the reduce that gap Nintendo chose to hold off on information for to close that gap which was probably the wrong decision. If they had revealed in Nov we wouldn’t have been in this situation.
Second - in a world where many companies and individuals profit from articles and you tube streams the leak information to them is just a cash cow. So you will never stop them speculating and gathering every titbit of info be it leaked or not and promoting that to the nines. It’s how they make their money.
Thirdly - this will be the norm unless we move away from companies which employe, at such low rates of pay eg China whereas leaking information gets them more money than they can earn. Even if they catch them, another will replace them.

Ubisoft always support day one then step away. So this doesn’t surprise me, but the dozen titles do not sound like titles you would rush out and buy. Especially when all their previous switch releases will still work.
So unless there’s a switch 2 exclusive like say Zombie 2 i can’t see the point.

It’s January and they plan to still be showcasing hands on in May so it’s likely a June, July, August release or even worse September October.

@Pillowpants me too! It’s a shame there’s no reaction from Capcom considering the Nintendo relationship over the years. And all the Ips that Capcom have on Nintendo systems.

But I’ll take any of these from Capcom - wilds, world+ice port, or new titles - new MH for switch 2 or stories 3, or a new remaster of 3U, or a classic collection or a odd ball game about palicos, poogies, and palamutes

From what I’m reading the release is June onwards as there is still hands on experiences happening in May.
So I’m thinking if Nintendo wait until June, July or even August to release they will have hard work beating the switch 1 sales number due to few months in that financial year post launch.
I 100% feel that early adopters will be fans only and families won’t come onboard for a long time (probably not even considering to purchase at Xmas).
First year numbers from fan purchases end of 1st year 10-15mil but slow and poor sales to follow as the families can’t justify the outlay for something in their eyes is exactly the same.

Why would you bother, the direct will cover all the bases and your current switch will for fill the rest.

Yes I saw that too. I’m thinking it will be games which use functions which are not available on switch 2 eg maybe IR pointer games as I don’t see the IR point on the bottom of the joy con.

Very flat uninspiring trailer. Almost captures the lack of enthusiasm at Nintendo now the leaks have taken the pizazz out of the launch.

That Mario kart looked very dull. I thought I was looking at a 8 deluxe at first.
