Eg if the company is American but manufacturing is in another country does the tariff apply?

Not sure they have applied this yet. As it’s not in effect yet.

Just hours after the price of the Switch 2 was announced, a 46% tariff was applied to Vietnam (where the Switch 2 is manufactured) along with a 24% tariff to Japan (where Switch 2 cartridges are manufactured). Therefore it's possible, though not definitively confirmed, that Nintendo took this into account when pricing the console and games.

Will they remaster 2 as it might appear as part of the GameCube line up? Tho if they want to milk it a remaster would be a big cash income.

Sounds like a dream come true. My pro has major drift issues and I’ve not been able to use for about 1.5 years now. So really looking forward to replacing.

@somebread I assume keeping it local stops pirates sending to cloned switches copying and then forwarding on for cash to other users. If you can only transfer with family group via local this issue is shut down.

Look when you can’t sell console numbers but you need the games to still sell numbers,…..put them on other consoles.
It worked for Sega and it will work for Xbox.
Just adopt the biggest instal bases and go flog your wares! It’s just good business sense.

In the UK £350 would be perfect price point, £399 will still sell but at a considerably slower rate.
Above £400 eg £429 or £450 will be a big mistake and would fail to get the attach rate required.
Above £450 and it’s dead in the water.

Would actually get the online expansion if it had Saturn and Dreamcast and GameCube

With both PlayStation and Xbox joining the handheld market switch 2 needs to hit the deck running. As 2027/2028 will see some real though competition and at that point Nintendo switch 2 install base might only be around 35million.

It’s amazing how they got voice chat almost perfect in Wii u (apart from the unsheilded jack location to the power charging port)
And then we went so far backwards with switch it was like the Wii days.

Nintendo so far down, I’d even question some of those above Nintendo.

From What I’m hearing, it’s Mario kart and a causal crap game like 1-2 switch. The rest of 2025 is third party.

Plus switch 1 titles Metroid and Pokemon being playable on switch 2

Nintendo has a track record of hits and misses, the Wii was a big hit and the Wii u a flop. Switch has been another huge hit for Nintendo and I’m feeling the switch 2 might or might not be the flop.

But as I say to all my friends and gamers with other systems
I only buy Nintendo and previously Sega because that’s where the IPs I love are at and always will be!

@GrailUK I love midway arcade treasures had it on my Dreamcast.
And repurchased 1-3 collection later on the next gen.

Paperboy, gauntlet, 720, gauntlet 2, pit fighter, hard driving, smash tv.

Sadly midway is now the property of Warner Bros and they have no interest in releasing any retro titles.

It’s a tricky one, as Nintendo can’t really wade in. Other than suspending both games until the copyright claim is resolved.

I feel bored to death with Mario Kart, it feels we’ve just had too much Kart from Nintendo over the last few years, what with 8 deluxe and then the additional booster courses, Mario kart tour and the fact we had 8 on Wii u as well with that extra dlc.

I know it sells but It’s been milked to death and lost its shine.

I’ve no interest in purchasing a switch 2.

Nintendo really need to pull something out the bag for April direct to change my mind.

I’ve been saying this all along they won’t port it because it won’t run.

Capcom will instead either launch a cloud version or more likely a port of world+ice in an ultimate package.

Further down the line once we have a strong instal base on switch 2 (yr2/3) they will release a system exclusive like rise was.

This game was such garbage

Unless the launch line up improves dramatically, I’ll be keeping my switch for the time being.

The launch price and the price further down the road will remain the same, so it’s all about that first year titles.
Unless there’s a monster hunter game in the first year I’ll probably hold on until there is.

Unless the hinted launch line up for switch 2 improves drastically I won’t be purchasing one until a monster hunter game gets released on the switch 2.
Until then I’ve got enough to keep me happy on the switch and the switch 2 doesn’t seem to have any killer titles.
Obvs this may all change once the April direct actually tells us more. But from the rumoured line up I’m not impressed.
