I feel so spoiled looking at all the stuff on sale. Was almost tempted to buy another Atelier game, but I decided to just screw it and buy the physical Dusk trilogy pack off PlayAsia. But gosh, so much choice! xBox have their sales as well and I'm very happy to see Star Ocean: The Divine Force on sale. Been waiting for it to be discounted!
671 hours! But does that count YouTube because I spent a ridiculous amount of time on that, more so than any game I've played 😂😅 spent the most time on Harvestella. Then Kirby and the Forgotten Land, purely because my father insists on seeing the boi for a little while each day 🙂
Blimey, most outlets haven't had the chance to review it yet and they're worried about end-game spoilers 😂 still not sure whether to buy it or not yet, doubt I'm the only one 🥲
Nice to see Hogwarts Legacy doing so well! Picked a great year to become a Harry Potter fan lol. I think Mario RPG has still done a good job hitting the Top Ten, considering we had Mario Wonder not long ago. Two different genres of course, but they're both still Mario games which may confuse some (my father gets them mixed up a lot, for one).
Playing through the New Game Plus of Atelier Ayesha DX; seeing how much I can 100% in time 🙂 love it. Still on Rune Factory 5 now and then, and I caved and bought Sophie 2 which I'm slowly dipping into.
I've really gotten into Atelier Ayesha DX in the last two weeks; it's such a charming game that always manages to make me smile. I'll definitely check out more games from the series in time. Aside from it, I'm still playing Rune Factory 5 (it's not the best admittedly, but it scratches the farming/fighting itch) and hoping to try out some demos on the Xbox (Tales of Arise and Scarlet Nexus).
Yikes 😅 I suppose it could have been worse but I'll have to double-check my storage space before buying. In any case I'm more curious to see if the game runs at least OK on Switch. Catches aside, I'm still happy it's actually coming to it 🙂
80% of me is thinking 'YES! I can't wait to grab it for Switch, I had a great time with it on XBox Series S but would like a physical and portable copy'. The other 20% is still worried about the usual performance-related stuff. As long as the game isn't totally breaking I'm happy 😌 it wasn't a perfect game but it was amazing to see a fully realised Hogwarts and Hogsmeade in game form.
More Octopath Traveller and Rune Factory 5 for me! 10 hours into both, and they're growing on me a lot more. Also, after weeks of agonising over which to buy in the sale (and watching Ircha Gaming videos) I bought Atelier Ayesha last night. It's my first atelier game, and not usually what people tend to recommend as a starting point, but I just love the overall feel of the game, especially that soundtrack and the character designs.
I really doubt this, but I'd absolutely love a port of the original Animal Crossing for Switch. I'm becoming a lazy git when it comes to setting up the GameCube, and just want to boot up the Switch for all my gaming wants and needs. Seeing Nintendo start to bring GameCube games over gives me some hope, though!
Rune Factory 5 and Octopath Traveller again for me. I'm sort of getting into Octopath, although the length between a single character's chapter is a bit much. Very fun to grind in it though. I also downloaded the Star Ocean: The Divine Force demo on the XBox and am loving it so far. Pity I didn't realise the sale for it ended the day I downloaded the demo!
Finishing up Hogwarts Legacy- I'm going to get to Level 34 and call it a day; the idea of 100%ing lthe game is just unbearable 😂 had a great time with it though. Aside from that, I'm playing both Rune Factory 5 (so relaxing to stick on an interview or podcast while playing) and Octopath Traveller.
Pikmin 4 burnt me out, so I won't be playing 1 and 2 immediately. Definitely going to pick up the physical copy when I can though, to at least have it in the collection. Pikmin 2 in particular is a special game for my brother, so he wants me to pick it up 🙂
Two seconds into the trailer, with that magical opening theme, me and my brother looked at eachother and both yelled. For him especially, this was one of a few defining GameCube games he played as a child. I never got round to playing through it fully myself, but I used to sit in his small room and watch him play. It's simply beautiful to see it return, so many years later...
On a less sentimental note, those who missed out will hopefully be able to afford it now! £100-odd on the Internet and in second-hand game stores is absolutely insane.
I'm going to wait until Wave 2 and see how it goes. I hope this isn't too silly a question, but can you experience the DLC with friends etc? The one thing Scarlet and Violet had going for it was its multiplayer. Getting to explore the region with my brothers was great fun last year.
I absolutely adore Harvestella. Didn't put it down until it was 100% done, more or less. Saying that, I'd class it as an RPG with farming in it rather than a farming game with RPG mechanics. I am very tempted to get Rune Factory 5 as I've seen YouTubers saying that after a little while they grow to love it and be addicted to it (sounds a bit like my experience with Harvestella). 4 is rated better but I'm being a fusspot and want the newer 3d one 😜
Gosh Nintendo, you really didn't need to go all-out on the details here. Kudos to them for providing us with full transparency. Embrace an all-stable future people!
Pikmin 4! Still plenty left to do for me. Also playing through Hogwarts Legacy on the Xbox, and occasionally Chocobo Mystery Dungeon for ten minutes here and there.
I had that with Zoo Keeper on the DS. It must have been bought for me early on, but I'd forgotten all about it. I remembered it only in the last few months when I spotted it at a Cex store. The other one that slipped my mind for awhile was Big Bang Mini, again for the DS.
I've yet to play the first two Pikmin games, though I want to once they're physically released on Switch. But so far I prefer Pikmin 3 to Pikmin 4. My brother prefers Pikmin 2 I believe.
So far, I'd give it an 8 or a 9. It's beautiful, the Pikmin are adorable and very characterful, and the gameplay is addictive as ever for me. But the little things annoy me perhaps more than I thought they would. The likes of Collin and Captain Shepherd desperately need to can it- their constant, patronising dialogue grates on me, especially as it's to tell me what I already know. The auto aim ought to have been optional- without needing to bother aiming, it doesn't feel very satisfying or interactive to use the curser now. Also it gets in the way sometimes, like when there's a lot of objects/enemies in one space. Finally, only three Pikmin types at a time is a shame. Imagine the mayhem of having em all out 👿 they could up it to four or five at least if that's a bit much.
That's a lot of gripes for an 8 or 9 but I can't deny that I'm having a blast with the game regardless. It's just I'm leaning towards preferring Pikmin 3. On the bright side though, it's never been easier to do a no-death run (so far!)- just get Oachi with a bunch of items to do most of the damage 😜
I must admit, I've been struggling to find a game that holds my attention for long. It's the anticipation of Pikmin 4 I think! But there's still the Harvestella grind (100-percenting the game is no joke) and I'm resisting the urge to spend more money and pick up Chocobo's Mystery Dungeon, which is currently on sale...
I really wish they'd made the captain in this video your canon character. She's adorable and fits the traditional look of Pikmin captains 😊 will have to make my character look like her. That aside, it's amazing to see so much advertising for Pikmin at last!
I just went with what I think are the cutest types of Pikmin, the yellow ones. But all of them are adorable in their own right (except the Bulbmin and Mushroom ones lol). Winged Pikmin are a close second.
Currently playing through Chrono Cross- getting to grips with that battle system! Also still on the old 100% grind for Harvestella. And I've dug out my 3ds and have started a new Animal Crossing: New Leaf file.
Seeing the original Wii artwork as icons is amazing! I do wish they had Alvis' OG icon, but Mumkhar getting one is pretty damn cool 😁 might get greedy and get the lot
Currently playing through Disgaea 5- got a bit of a backlog going so I'm trying to get through it pretty quick. Still playing Harvestella daily as well- aiming to possibly 100% the game, or get as close as I can. Also playing a bit of Chrono Cross too 🙂
Surely there's only so much you can do to change up sequels to open world games every time? I doubt this is the only thing Nintendo are going to do with Zelda now. At least, I hope not. No harm in continuing the series with both traditional and open world styles though.
Good thing I caved and bought it on XBox I guess. It's to be expected; honestly can't imagine it running so well on the Switch, which is a pity. Saying that, I haven't played it for ages cos of other games. But having recently become a Potter fan (20 years too late 😜) it's fun to go back from time to time and see the references.
Uh oh, I must be playing the DLC too fast judging by the length mentioned in your review! I should slow down 😂 but as a massive Xeno 1 fan, I feel frankly spoiled. Absolutely amazing so far!
Started for a little bit before I decided it's way too late here in the UK for this 😂 very excited though! Ready to see if my boi Alvis will turn out ok in the end.....I hope 🥲
