Re: Review: RPG Time: The Legend Of Wright - A Flawed But Enchantingly Homemade Adventure

Here's my two cents:
The best part of this game is the style, of course, looking really neat. As well, the theming is used in some great ways, like the menu being the desktop and pencils being swords, and some moments are really good (chapter 6 being a personal favorite, and the end gets suprisingly somber. [major spoiler for the end of the game:] After Wright dies, the princess considers FLIPPIN SUICIDE!). The soundtrack is also a standout. There are just some glaring issues that really bring the game down:
. The main problem is the gameplay. It's themed as an action-adventure RPG when it's really a point-and-click puzzler with educational elements. The latter part I get (the game takes place in a school, after all), but why a puzzle game?
. As well, the puzzles in combat are sometimes VERY convoluted, especially the fourth boss.
. There's a party, but they're mainly just plot devices.
. The other main problem is that you can't replay parts of the game. Once you beat the game, your only option is to delete your save file, which I would never do. Instead, I wish you would get a time machine which would let you replay individual chapters. Would also let me play the board game mode that got added.
. No music box mode. They literally have an MP3 player, let us use that!
Overall, 7/10. Good for what it is, but really needs some QOL stuff.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (July 1st)

Finished Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga (man that final boss is hard!) and am now going to play BYEBYE BOXBOY!, aptly one of the last games I got on the system. Also, I'm finally playing Mario Party Superstars. Haven't played much yet, but it is fun so far. Plus, today is my birthday, so it just makes sense!

"Zelda veterans could easily beat it in a weekend"
I can attest to that. I'm not much of a Zelda veteran, but I did beat the game in a weekend. It's short, but extra sweet, and my only complaint is that it's impossible to 100% the game unless you do everything in a specific order. Also:
"you'll almost definitely be playing long after the credits have rolled"
Unless you're grinding for mysterious shells, I don't think this statement is entirely true. Once I beat the game, I still had to get two tiger scrolls, complete the Goron side quest, and get the mirror shield, plus Tingle trouble, and I did all that in 4 or 5 hours.

Re: Best Nintendo Switch DLC

Well, there were five fighters in expansion pass one, and another six in pass two, so if you counted Piranha Plant, which was separate, there would actually be another twelve fighters, and thirteen if we count Pyra and Mythra as separate fighters, which I don't. Also, still haven't got the Treasure Tracker DLC for some reason

Re: Poll: Six Years On, Which Was Nintendo Switch's Best Year So Far?

I went with 2019. So many good games, from The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening to Luigi's Mansion 3, and Super Mario Maker 2 pretty much saved my life during the first half of the school year. Shoutout to 2018, though, when two of the best indie games I've ever played came out (take a guess at which two they are).
