Re: Hands On: 'Gris' Devs Are Ready To Make Us Cry Again With The Beautiful 'Neva'

Neva gonna give you up!
In all seriousness, my time playing Gris was... interesting. Honestly, the game felt tedious, and not in a "this was intentional" way like with, say, The Longing. Plus, while I enjoy a good story, Gris' didn't really click with me. Also, I've never watched a Studio Ghibli film, as for some reason I feel like I can't watch anime (probably just teenager jazz). However, when the game inevitably goes on sale, I'll probably still give it a go. For one thing, Gris DID look stunning, no matter what my bored-gourd mind said, and this game looks to be the same. Plus, while I'm more of a ferret person myself, Neva is quite adorable, and uses a design that has absolutely NEVER been done before. ...that was a joke I've seen a very similar design at least twice before. Still pretty cute, though.

Re: Review: Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door (Switch) - Still The King Of Mario RPGs

@Ironcore Oh boy, here we go again...
Anyways, I'm not getting the game, but only because I just beat the original (like when they announced the remake, it was my most recently beaten game), but I'm pretty sure the stunning visuals make up for any frame rate issues. Plus, I'm not sure the game needed much new content, so a QOL repaint might be exactly what the game needed.

Re: Nintendo World Championships: NES Edition Launches On Switch In July

This feeling... it can't be... I think a Nintendo product... is SUB-PAR?!?
But seriously, as far as I can tell, this is not worth it in the slightest. If every challenge is like, six seconds, what's the point? There might be more to it than that, but still, I'd only get it for a steep discount. Also, the trailer is hilariously underwhelming. It hypes things up considerably, and then just kills it all in less than a second.

Re: Random: It's Done! Every Super Mario Maker Level Has Been Cleared Before Wii U's Online Shutdown

Kirbyo

I think it's important to mention why the level was TASed. As far as I can tell, this is what happened:
some guy was making a TAS tool for Wii U, but gave up. Ahoyo's friend got the unfinished TAS, and after some tinkering got it to work. Ahoyo's hands became sprained from trying to clear Bombs 5, so he got the TAS from his friend and TASed two levels, both with good intent. First was Bombs 5, as he knew it was humanly possible but couldn't physically attempt it anymore, so he uploaded it and hoped someone would one day beat it for him. Trimming the Herbs was the second, and that one he made specifically to be TAS only. He entered it into his own contest, but not to win, only to get the clear video notoriety. He even asked the judges to disqualify it under the pretense of a 12-second time limit (the contest only allowed levels 10 seconds or less). He wanted people to examine the video, realize it was TASed, and then he'd reveal the new TAS tool to the world. Unfortunately, nobody got around to examining the video for 7 years, and when it became the last uncleared level, Ahoyo realized that it would be for the best to just come clean before things got any worse.

Re: Switch Emulator Yuzu To Pay $2.4 Million To Nintendo & Cease Development

I think the limit is once either the system or physical games for the system become EXTREMELY hard to find (cough cough, GAMECUBE) then emulation is ok. For example, the TTYD remake should not be avaliabe on a Switch emulator, but the original on a Gamecube emulator? Hell yeah, that game is impossible to come by (don't mind the fact I own a copy of the original I'm trying to make a point here)!
