I'd give it a hearty 8. Some QOL features could be added (looking at you, KAMEK), a jukebox is MANDATORY, and obviously the online needs some tinkering, but overall I think it's a great game, especially if you go in as a casual.

Figuring out I could flip the world in free roam on my own felt AMAZING! Also, I think the requirements are just playing every cup and knockout, cause I didn't place top three in every cup or top four in every knockout and still got it. So long as there's a checkmark, you're good. I don't remember how many peach medals I got, but I don't think it was that many.

You should probably also make a guide on how to unlock mirror mode, cause I just unlocked it on accident. The FIRST time I beat the special cup, nothing happened. The SECOND time I got a cutscene unlocking mirror mode, and I have NO idea what I did differently.

I know there's a lot of controversy, but I just decided to get a Switch 2 and hope for the best. Worst-case scenario: Nintendo fails, and I just play Steam games on my new laptop (the perks of going into the computer science industry).

As with most things the problem is communication. The prices are nasty, yes, but the lack of transparency surrounding them makes everything ten times worse.

Yes, there weren't very many HUGE announcements, but consider this: the Switch 1 HAD to make an impact, after the disaster that was the Wii U. The Switch 2, on the other hand, has room to take it slower, as it can coast off the success of it's predecesor until some of the hidden bigger titles are ready.
Yes, the upgrades are kinda strange, but considering that they're pretty much just Switch 2 exclusive DLC with extra enhancements, I'd say it's excusable. A bit strange they aren't included in the NSO Expansion Pass.
And yes, the prices are ubsurd, but considering world events, the prices, while still terrible, are at least understandable.
Plus, not one, but TWO Kirby announcements? Hell yeah!
Overall, a solid 8/10.

Hopefully this doesn't happen with anouncements from the actual direct... who am I kidding? Nintendo has slipped up before, but not even they can be THAT stupid.

7/14. To be frank, I didn't game that much this year, being more pressed by... other matters. However, I DID finally play BOTW and Hades this year, so I think that kinda makes up for it.

I'm shocked the new Mario & Luigi isn't at least a runner up for biggest suprise

@Classic603 You don't understand: I didn't say "I wish I had friends." Instead I said "I wish I could make friends". I'm very socially awkward. As for family, my brother is already in college, and playing DnD with my parents would just be sad.

It seems people either love this game or hate it. I find it ok. A little grindy, sure, but sometimes it's nice to just turn off my brain for a bit.

Honestly, I'd be happy to play this, and I have a bit, but there are three things that keep me from trying to beat it right now: I'm a high school student with barely any free time, I'm currently in a bad spot emotionally and Vampire Survivors just makes me feel worse, and most importantly, Brothership comes out in like three days. I'll probably come back to it later, but for now it's way too much. Which isn't a bad thing. When I finally have the time and patience, I'm going to finish this, and I'm going to have so much fun. Also I should note I've never played Castlevania, so the refrences completely slip past me.
Edit: I couldn't resist. I beat it. The ending was totally worth it.

With the new Vampire Survivors DLC out, I'm absolutely going to be giving it a shot. The real question is going to be deciding whether to switch over to Brothership once it comes out or to stick with VS.
