Re: Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade Director Highlights The Speed Problem With Switch 2 Game Cards

Wanted to buy a ps5 couple days ago, was about to fill out the form for installments, only to realize I had blocked my Id card, haha.
Next day I thought to myself do I really need another console? Just because of key cards?
Eventually I ditched the idea and I think I am a step closer to accepting the new reality.
Will be waiting for price drops tho, never day one or even year one, lol. Also gonna be as picky as it gets, persona, ff7, yakuza, eldenring. Gonna keep it small.

As far as that corporate talk goes. He might be right, some games probably benefit from the key card situation, but there will be tons of games that could have been easily put on card imo, dragon quest or ellio for example.

Switch 2 is gonna be my last console unless there is gonna be major changes. Think my backlog can carry me.

Re: Nintendo Is "Acting To Protect The Industry" With Switch 2 Game Key Cards, Says Ex-Capcom Composer

@AllBLK to be fair: The cards are pretty expensive, 16$ I believe. And nintendo gets a share of about 30% afaik. Third party titles dont sell very well on nintendo systems. Now take a company such as ubislop who is know to discount their games fast. I think $20 is the sweet spot for a ubi title - ofc I wouldnt buy a ubi game if it was even just $1 but $20 sounds about the right value for the average player. With taxes and distribution, etc, how were they supposed to make money if they spent 16 bucks on that cardridge?
And worse, what if they have a huge stock of games and nobody wants them? With key cards that loss will be minimal. Dont think a key card game costs more than a $1 to produce, could be even less than that.

Just goes to show the kind of rubbish we are dealing with here.

$10-$20 is the maximum I am gonna spend on a key card - and those games must be high quality as I dont wanna clog up storage space with slop.
