Where are the Split Pad and Compact Pad products? Shocked they didn't have them ready for release, they were the most comfortable from the previous generation Switch add-ons
@Kiyata Then I don't really know what to tell you because it sounds like you don't enjoy a variety of quality games and genres, which means you'll be hard to please either way lol they'll stay winning regardless
@Kiyata How is Wind Waker, Fire Emblem, Super Mario Sunshine, Pokemon XD, Luigi's Mansion, Pokemon Coliseum, and others not considered good enough for you?
@RubyCarbuncle To be fair, it is a fun Pokemon game (it's not hard for them to nail the beloved formula), but it falls quite short in a lot of ways unfortunately. Enjoyed it but would still put it in the bottom 2 all-time for me lol
This game was incredible. Finished it up last week and have nothing but good things to say. Between Ender Magnolia and Rift of the Necrodancer, indies are off to a strong start this year
@Anachronism I'm guessing that they will add some sort of updated rule to this later on, once we get far enough removed from an older expansion they'll become more lenient on what will be allowed to be traded!
@SalvorHardin Truthfully I'm just assuming they're going to use Shinedust as the in-game resource to use for trades, and the amount will increase for the more rare trades. I've been saving up just in case, assuming it will operate the same as Go where they use Stardust for trades lol
@eltomo It wasn't ever intended to be like the Gameboy titles. It's first and foremost a card collector that is best enjoyed a few mins every day. It's honestly a breath of fresh air!
@milonorth When I found myself wishing there was more "game" to TCG Pocket, I realized that it's there to be a casual card collector over anything else, and it does that super well. Checking in for a few minutes every day, doing quests and a couple battles feels like a bonus and a lot of the appeal is that you don't have to spend hours on progression. Just enjoy the ride, that should be more than enough to keep general attention.
@Vyacheslav333 These games, especially Star Rail and Zenless Zone Zero, all feel like exceptional single player games that just happen to have gacha mechanics. They've been stellar, especially if you remove the FOMO aspect and focus on the story and character events. Well worth the time
So very excited for when this finally releases. The entire concept of it looks fantastic, I just hope they add in some simplified battles against other players across the world, similar to how Duel Links did for mainline Yugioh.
@LikelySatan That can be overcome! It's just like learning any other more complex system of strategies in different styles of games. Just start at one spot and work your way up
@Ralizah Congrats on finishing 7 so far! It's refreshing to see this instead of the weird "I just stare at my games" instead. People finding whatever reason they can not to enjoy stellar releases and they seem to not allow themselves the ability to get excited about games. I just don't understand lol
@veesonic Why would you want to do that in the first place? There are so many fantastic games released just this year (and more coming this month like Eiyuden Chronicle, Another Crab's Treasure and Stellar Blade) that I'm confused on why you'd want to miss out lol. Hope you can join for some great releases!
@calbeau Indeed, well said! So many people saying they don't have time to beat their games or do other things but a lot of it comes down to their time management. 168 hours in a week is an insane amount of time if used correctly, and that's even taking into account a full 40-hour week that isn't remote (not as common today), a longer than average commute of 10 hours a week (unrealistic), and a perfect sleep schedule of 8 hours a night (also unrealistic).
That leaves you with 62 hours of free time, and I can't recall a week where chores and errands took even half of that.
Penny's Big Breakaway, Pocket Card Jockey, Ender Magnolia, SMT V, Another Crab's Treasure, Pepper Grinder, and other things that we knew were coming soon like Tales of Kenzera and Unicorn Overload look fantastic.
I saw a ton of people excited about Epic Mickey and Endless Ocean coming back too. Not to mention Sega bringing a new entry with Super Monkey Ball, and the 3DS version of Monster Hunter Stories being ported over.
Not sure what there is to dislike here. Lots of variety for everyone
@rainbowtick Not sure how this would be a yawn for you, the variety here is pretty stellar and they showed off quite a lot.
A sequel to Ender Lilies, SMT V, Penny's Big Breakaway, Pepper Grinder, Another Crab's Treasure, and Tales of Kenzera easily made this worth it. Tons of other notable things too.
Expand the horizons my friend. This was far from a snoozefest
@Peteykins That's a bummer to hear, there are many aspects of that which make games interesting and is only one piece of the main game even if it's based around a deck. Not sure why it's an automatic write-off if it has cards
@Aaron00 Still a good time to get into Pokemon. If you've only played the first generation and the newest remakes, I'd hate if you missed out on a bunch of quality entries in the series.
Heartgold and Soulsilver still hold up and are my personal favorites. ORAS, as well as any of the gen 3 games are amazing.
Gen 5 is another personal favorite, both Black/White and their sequels are really well done.
If we fast forward to the Switch, Legends Arceus and Let's Go are fantastic Pokemon games. Even Sword/Shield and parts of Scarlet/Violet are fun, but I wouldn't ship those anywhere near top recommendation.
A lot of their side games are worth playing too. TCG on the Game Boy, Conquest, Mystery Dungeon, Pokken Tournament, etc. Even things like Pokemon Go and Masters EX have been fun for a more casual experience.
Also an honorable mention for Sun & Moon for shaking up the formula, giving us islands and a break from the standard gyms.
@Spinal Dang, dropping a GOTY indie contender and arguably one of the best JRPGs out there for a half-baked DQ game that doesn't even cover half the manga? That's wild.
@Cronodoug why wouldn’t you want to invest in physical media? You actually get the product and it’s a much better investment, especially for harder to find or uncommon games.
Aside from convenience, you’re doing yourself a disservice by going digital lol
Continuing what looks like the last few hours of the masterpiece that is Sea of Stars which I encourage every gamer out there to play through. It's giving TOTK a run for its money when it comes to GOTY!
After that, we're going to continue knocking a few unfinished games off the list: The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky FC Blasphemous 2 Persona 4 Golden Elden Ring
@Hunter-D That's not great to hear, especially considering this year has been beyond stacked with quality (and October is coming in a few weeks with some of the most exciting releases of the year)
Hope you get back to it sooner rather than later and that you don't miss out!
@larryisaman That's a bummer to hear. The game opening up a bit and having you go back through areas a bit differently was a huge selling point of the experience and the story lol
This documentary was so well made in every single way. Can't express enough how much the transparency and passion makes this game one of, if not THE most special release in 2023.
@YonkoBuggyTheClown unfortunately that is the main problem with getting into the series, aside from the length... Sky 1-3 are only available on PC, and Cold Steel 1-2 are only on PC/Playstation. Zero, Azure and Cold Steel 3-4 are on all consoles though, which helps!

@koekiemonster So you would have been excited if prices remained the same? It doesn't even make sense for them to be priced how they used to.
I don't think anyone is happy about any sort of price increases overall. But I'm not sure why folks are shocked
Re: Switch 2 And Other Platforms Can Expect "A Lot More" Xbox Games In 2025

Re: Zelda: TOTK And Mario Wonder Land GOTY Nominations At The Game Awards 2023
@OwenGamer22 The others were more deserving tbh. Cyberfunk is fine but doesn't stand up to the competitors in any of the categories, even in OST.
They really should have put Octopath in their for OST though

Re: Sci-Fi RPG CRYMACHINA Lands Action-Packed Demo On Switch eShop Today
@Woderwick Why is having a custom character the dealbreaker? Focus on this genre of games is almost always story and development of the cast.
Most character creators only produce generic looking results as well, would much rather have them design a more specific model to play as.
