Just picked up Berkserk Boy on sale.

At the end of the day, there's no getting away from the facts.

Everything breaks eventually.
Nothing lasts forever.
Joy cons that get used alot, break faster.
You can't compare Joy Cons to older Nintendo controllers. It's like comparing a bicycle to a car. There's far more things that can go wrong with a Joy Con than a SNES controller. It also explains the price hikes. Consumers/Developers want more functionality from their controllers. That comes at a price.

I hate to sound like I'm making excuses and I hope Nintendo go even further to test their hardware durability for Switch 2. But trying to sue Nintendo because "stuff breaks" was never going to work.

Looks good but not seeing the Sonic Adventure comparisons. Looks much more like boost era Sonic to me, Generations, Colours and Forces gameplay of running fast on a road. There's Sonic Heroes vibes too. But not so much Adventure in my opinion.

I mean, they both have Chonky Chu so are both winners in my eyes.

There are many things I loved about TotK, and some things I thought it did better, but overall I think BotW is the better game. Both outstanding though.

Personally, I'm waiting to see if these will be playable on Switch 2. Avoiding digital Switch 1 purchases until we know more.

Unpopular opinion, but I think I'm ready for a new 2D Mario. The last all new one was on the Wii U.

I would however, not like it in the "New" style. I'd like to see a different style, or even the return of something like the Yoshi's Island look.

Of course, I'd take a new 3D game too.

I also made a 40 level 8 world "claasic" game in Mario Maker 2. I spent months on it rather than years though. I'm proud of it even if it ain't a "Mario Bros 5".

I always thought Rayman was kind of cool so off you pop NL. There's several Nintendo first parties I'd rather not play over Rayman Origins or Legends.

I'd add the Megaman Zero/zx Collection to this list. And I'd take Mario 3D World off because... it just doesn't belong here. Sorry haha!

I'm just looking forward to seeing what progress has been made. Cause those gameplay videos a few months back were a bit dull and bare bones, in my opinion.

Jebus, I'm not sure I have time for 100 hours of additional side quests, no matter how good they are. At least the ones I do end up doing won't feel like a waste of time.

My point is, for those complaining... there's single player stuff on sale too. And big sale's come along fairly regularly. No need to panic.

Who cares about how they announce things?? Whether it's announced in a direct or not makes zero difference to the final game or your level of enjoyment.

@jrt87 You don't know the fanbase very well if you think they think any Sonic game, especially mainline 3D ones, are GOTY contenders 😂 They just hope it'll turn out "not bad" or perhaps, even "Good enough".

There's probably a few who get that excited, but the majority know Sonic games often turn out deeply frustrating. But we live in hope that the good will outweigh the bad in each release. Occasionally it happens (Colours, Generations, Mania). But usually not.

A little disappointing, but intrigued to hear the new stuff from Jun.

Not listed here is Shin Megami Tensei V for £33. Don't think that's been in the 33% off sale before. Definitely worth it if you haven't got it already. Big game.

Would like a Dreamcast Mini and a proper GameGear Mini (not those expensive key chain versions).

Then again, in the case of DC games, I already have a fair few that I bought for pennies on Steam so it's not the end if the world.

I'm pleased to see Sonic looking like he has some control over what he's doing. Agree this looks like an overworld. I'm still intrigued for now.

If it was something Four Swords related, I'd expect, y'know, four options. So I'd say Ages/Seasons remakes by the studio that did Links Awakening for Switch. It would make sense for them to move on to the other Gameboy Zeldas next.

@carlos82 This was my point exactly. Surely removing Tails actually makes the Sonic 2 special stages harder! Any rings he finishes with are a bonus and would have been missed otherwise.

I'm not sure you solve your console's chip shortage problems by releasing new, more complicated, more expensive, more chip-hungry hardware. But I don't think that will stop them launching Switch 2 for Christmas 2023.

@gaga64 @moodycat Dimps made Sonic 4 along with Sonic Team. Dimps also made Advance/Rush before that so... take that however you want.
