Any modern, decent employer knows the importance of promoting a good working environment for their employees. They recognise that if you want to retain talent to make your next project a success.
What's the point of making one good game if no one who made it good wants to work for you again?
And I say this as someone who has recruited for my current employer. Results at any cost, costs more in the long term.
@KiraMoonvalley There are plenty of reasons why people might not have played all these back in the day. In my case, N64 wasn't my primary console at the time. Can't play everything!
I'd be a bit surprised if there wasn't a Switch version in the works. Not sure why people are that bothered though. Surely it's just as convenient, if not easier, to play a Mobile version as it would be a Switch version? Especially one that's also coming to Desktop. It'll be the same game regardless.
Had a lot of fun with Super Mario Party. Despite needing more maps, it's one of the better ones. This household will probably get it, but will be watching for reviews just in case. If it's not as good as SMP, might as well just stick with that one.
Translation: Broken and unfinished but please hold on as they're an indie developer and this is literally their livelihood on the line so let's be kind.
I'm more impressed Nintendo included that much of the game! Perhaps they knew some cheeky chaps would speed run it and didn't want to cut anyone short.
We are truly spoilt these days. For the 2 or 3 games I wish Nintendo would hurry up and release, there's more a dozen that are out right now that I'm very interested in playing. We'll miss this kind of choice if Nintendo's next console turns out to be another "Wii U".
Man, I would have liked to hear more about what else Nintendo HQ has stashed away in storage!! Missed opportunity there NintendoLife ;P Cool article though.
Looking great! These are the good times. Unlike the late days of the Wii U or Gamecube, when there would only be a few games to look forward to for the entire year! Enjoy these good times.
Great recap. There's a couple of games I hadn't played so it's interesting to hear what went on in those.
Samus's body must be pretty messed up, especially after the events of Fusion. She's been merged with Metroid DNA, "corrupted" by Phazon, and almost killed by the X-Parasite infection.
@Bryon15 A lot of what you just listed are expensive to license. Then, assuming they have the source code at all, and being third party titles, they probably don't, they would need additional coding to make them work on the emulator, then optimizing, promoting through updating their websites at a minimum... the list goes on. And all for a minority (let's face it, most people play Switch for Switch games, not the NSO games) of players, some of which are only paying £4 a YEAR for the service. Not to mention that some of these third parties are selling these games for actual money on other platforms, so won't want to give Nintendo the licenses and damage their sales elsewhere.
It's just not worth it, for Nintendo or the third parties.
It wouldn't surprise me if it did exist and came out in 2022 between Dread this year and Prime 4 in 2023.
But, anyone can make a prediction like "it'll come out when Nintendo are ready". It could come out in 2030 and does this rumour-monger expect credit for that? Jog on.
Part of me hope's the next Smash game is a fresh start for the series, with a new roster made up of a lot of the characters we're seeing as Mii costumes in Ultimate.
Looking great and worth the wait! This and Metroid Dread give me hope for games with looong development cycles turning out great in the end despite not hearing much, if anything. Bayonetta 3 and Prime 4 will be just fine...
On a list where S3&K doesn't count, I actually rate Sonic 2 highest. Sonic 3 is too short on its own and S&K feels a little off without the first half of the story, although I love the challenge it presents.
At least they're taking their time. Many of the 3D Sonic games suffered from being rushed. Forces, Boom, even the original Adventure, but at least that was in concept for ages, just didn't finish the actual polishing in time for the Dreamcast launch.
Mario Kart 7 hung around the charts for years and years too. It's why Nintendo only release one version of Mario Kart per console, and why we won't be seeing Mario Kart 9 on Switch.
Mario Kart 9 exclusive to Switch Pro IF it exists, is the only way we're seeing a new MK this/next year.
We'll certainly be giving the motion controls a go in this house. Golf and tennis tended to work well with motion controls on Wii and the Switch JoyCons are more optimised than those.
I was thinking last night, no one's talking about a potential new Fire Emblem game? It's become one of Nintendo's better selling franchises and Three Houses has been out a while. I wouldn't be surprised if we saw a new game announced.
Still a lot less content than E3s of days gone by. Hardly an industry wide event.
For those asking about the sign up. Just watch the stream on Nintendo Life? I'd be very surprised if the others weren't all on YouTube as well. They wouldn't want to massively restrict their audience to a small minority of people who just have an account.

Metroid Dread? Never heard of it...
Re: Super Smash Bros. Ultimate's Final Fighter Is... Kingdom Hearts' Sora!
It's a good final choice.
Re: Danganronpa S: Ultimate Summer Camp Will Have Gacha-Style Microtransactions
I read the sub title as "Spike Chunsoft confirms on the bog".
The has been a PSA. Goodnight all.
Re: Nintendo Infographic Shows Every Game Featured In September's Direct
It's such a difference from the Wii U days when there would be like 6 games on one of these things.

Re: Every Nintendo Switch Online N64 Game Ranked
I haven't played 9 of these games so subscribing for a couple of months to try them out is a good deal for me.

Re: Bayonetta's Voice Actor Isn't So Sure About Her Future In The Role
@HamatoYoshi Yes. I believe that's what we were all doing? Speculating about what's really going on? I'm as in the dark as the rest of you.
Re: Bayonetta's Voice Actor Isn't So Sure About Her Future In The Role
What she means is she's done work for Bayonetta 3, but has heard nothing about a Bayonetta 4. Or they've told her it's the last game.
Re: Quick Beats: Mega Man Composer And Inti Creates Founder Talks Backdraft And Bongos

Looks like my kind of Fire Emblem. GBA style

Re: Super Mario Bros. Movie Might Be Directed By The Teen Titans Go! Creators
What would a Mario movie even be about? The source material isn't exactly the deepest of storytelling. And the protagonist barely talks!
Re: Latest Pokémon Brilliant Diamond And Shining Pearl Trailer Shows New And Returning Features
I don't really understand the negativity towards the "chibi" characters when the first 5 generations of pokemon all had chibi sprites.
Anyway, I'll be picking one of these up for me and mrs to play.

Re: Poll: Can You Still Find Game & Watch: Super Mario Bros. And Super Mario 3D All-Stars?
They're in every place that sells Switch games. There was never a shortage. It was hype to sell more copies at the time.

Re: Talking Point: Where Does The Switch OLED Announcement Leave The Rumoured Switch Pro?
Switch Pro is Switch 2.
2023.
Launch titles:
Metroid Prime 4.
Mario Kart 9.
New 3D Mario.
Re: Random: The Internet Reacts To The New Switch OLED Model
Nintendo will still release an upgraded Switch.
It will be called the Switch 2. In 2023.
And by gawd it better be backwards compatible with Switch 1 games or they'll spend the rest of the decade fending off cries for ports.

Very pleased with this. Kingdom Battle was great.
Re: Poll: So, How Would You Rate Summer Game Fest Kickoff Live?

Megaman News would be good. Ideally not just a collection of old games.
