UK retailer GAME has kicked off a new 'The Home from Home Arcade' campaign in partnership with Arcade1Up, a manufacturer of officially licensed arcade cabinets. If you've ever wanted to create the arcade of your dreams in your spare room, or even just pick up a full-size cabinet to plonk in your lounge, here's your opportunity.
There are plenty of cabinets to choose from (some are available now, while some are currently up for pre-order and will be dispatched throughout September and October), and some of them are exclusive to GAME and can't be picked up anywhere else in the UK.
You'll find a mix of full-size, quarter-size and mini officially licensed cabinets in the selection, including fan-favourite games like Pac-Man, Mortal Kombat and more in the selection, so have a browse below.

Full-Size Arcade Cabinets
Quater-Scale Arcade Cabinets
Micro Players, Countercades, Jr Arcades & More
Arcade Stools
Pinball Machines
The urge to start collecting a few of these is strong, huh? We're even tempted to grab a couple of those stools just for the kitchen, so someone better talk us out of that before we put the whole set in our basket.
Let us know what you think of the range and whether you're tempted to treat yourself to one of those glorious-looking cabinets in the comments.

If there was a proper pinball machine, then we will talk.
Virtual pinball? Might as well just play Pinball FX on my switch
I built my ultimate arcade machine last month. Converted a small table to house a mini PC and put a rotating monitor on an arm, upgraded an 8-bitdo joystick with sanwa gear, updated another 8-bitdo joystick to have an Odin control pad...it’s really sweet for plug and play emulation.
That being said, the only DDR machine they made is micro?!
Namco museum collection! But I will never get Toypop again… no matter how many times a Namco museum collection is released…😢
I've always wanted an arcade room (if I can manage to get a place of my own one of these years ).
The Simpsons and Out Run cabinets by by Arcade1Up are very, very tempting, but I also can't justify the expense for such a large apparatus merely to play a game or two (and that I'll likely barely use).
I'd much rather have something to house a Switch (or PC) in for such a purpose.
About time we had a good supply of arcade 1up stuff. But I have an Atgames legends ultimate cab which is better than most of the arcade 1up cabs. Still good to see though.
I really like this sort of thing and it's good to see GAME backing them. However, I thought the Arcade1Up cabinets were three-quarter size?
@Bunkerneath It's great in VR, too. Honestly, if all they're doing is sticking the pinball table onto a big screen, then.. What's the point!?!
Economy: Recession.
GAME: £499 for one game.
Great for the few that have the space/money, but for everyone else I can't help thinking they'd make more of a success of this if they sold some of the elements you'd need to build your own version.
That Midway 12 in 1. Lovely! Maybe some day...
Wait, so what is the point of this when retailers like Wal-Mart already carry Arcade1Up cabinets?
Edit: Oh, I guess these are entirely new cabinets and not the ones they previously released. If these are going to be GAME exclusive, that's kinda lame, though.
That's a lot of money for a Raspberry Pi in a big box. I thought the point of this kind of thing was to have a real original arcade machine in your living room, not an oversized NES mini.
No Nintendo cabinets? DK collection?
To be honest, I probably still wouldn’t buy a DK collection. I have the games with Arcade Archives.
There used to be three or four GAME stores in my city? Now's it been reduced to one.
...seems like an odd time to go into the arcade replica business
I have the little My Arcade Galaga where I followed some instructions to make it play a bunch of the other games too: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vU11npoA-UY - but it's a novelty and little more.
Almost tempted by the Namco Museum for £50, but having watched a review the screen isn't that great and controls aren't even that responsive, which is a shame.
I've played a few of the Arcade 1Up cabinets in Smyths - I think they were originally advertised as 3/4 size or something because they're not too comfortable to play on and shoulder to shoulder 2 player is uncomfortably close - I think these are the same sort of size (they certainly look the same as this https://www.smythstoys.com/uk/en-gb/video-games-and-tablets/retro-gaming/arcade1up-street-fighter-capcom-legacy-edition-cabinet-with-12-games-riser-included-/p/199804). Also, for £500 you can get yourself a Switch (other consoles are available), a lovely 8bitdo arcade stick (or 2) and a heap of retro collections which cover most of the content offered here (alas, no Ms PacMan!).
Have to say though, I love the IDEA of having a 'proper' (albeit I suspect very emulated) arcade machine, though I think the novelty would wear off, and I simply don't have the space!
It's a (literal) stretch to call Arcade1Up full size cabinets.
I stopped buying anything from GAME when Mike Ashley brought it and my local one got crammed into the corner upstairs in the Sports Direct making it feel like an after thought. It's more because of my opinion on his business practices.
I feel like the home arcade market is directionless. There are manufacturers with the right idea on product: make a cabinet for people to put their Switches into. And then those with the right idea for a business model: scale it and get them into stores. Perhaps one of the boutique builders can partner with a flagging retailer like Best Buy for mutual benefit.
Some of these machines are considerably cheaper elsewhere.
These would be nifty in some sort of bar area/basement/man-cave type space. I guess it'd be more for some interactive decoration but would be pretty cool.
Of course I have 0 space for any of that so no go here.
I love my Arcade1up. I got a Final Fight cab a few years ago and changed the control deck and put a raspberry pi with about 100 of my favorite arcade, NES, and SNES games. Really fun project.
Mmmm. A Galaga cabinet
I have been thinking about getting an arcade 1up and a switch connector. As that is quicker than me machining an arcade cab...especially with the new shinku hadoken version coming out.
Problem is space and that I live in an apartment. Moving is gonna suck.
Making a full size cabinet with a Switch dock in it is a great idea
@Zenszulu Awful company, they were refusing to pay my mates during lockdowns, literally held out for ages until their hand was forced.
Such a shame the last physical retailer is a clinical mess that charges only top prices.
Gamestation was so much better, and Electronics Boutique before Game.
There’s no info on what’s on the Capcom legacy one though…..Alien Vs Predator?
Anybody know if game ships to the US? I want one of the stools but can’t find it at a domestic retailer.

List in the link
Where is the Star Wars one??????!!! Swines!!
I'm gonna need a bigger man cave!
@BloodNinja the people demand pictures!!!
You can get them cheaper with 1000's more ROMs packed in from other sellers obviously not officially licensed but still
@Bunkerneath I really really really want a proper medieval madness pinball machine but they're so expensive
@Kid_Sickarus Haha, it’s not very fancy looking, plus I don’t know how to imbed pictures. I’ve tried in the past and failed lol
If only I had the space and money
@BloodNinja how cool
@fusermarucs Perhaps they either couldn't get Disney to play ball, or they couldn't afford the asking price?
I saw a load of these in HMV... Maybe not so exclusive
I like the designs but yeah would need the FBA catalogue on for those fantasia i love that MK stool
@BloodNinja dude! Everything you just mentioned is what I’ve been dreaming of building! You have photos of this dream machine??
@Kid_Sickarus @majorplotflaw
I literally bought this:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B09G6KJQ78/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Added an extra piece of wood to it so I could have the 8bitdo arcade stick at the ready.
Then I attached a 24" Asus Tuf gaming monitor (with built in speakers) to this arm:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01AI2YGK4/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
The PC is a cheap this thing:

It runs BARELY up to Gamecube, so I can play Soul Calibur 2 and everything below. Sorry for lack of pics, but it's not that fancy lol. I have a small stool with it so I can play seated. The monitor on the arm rotates for TATE mode shmups.
I'm only 5' 6", so the table I chose was based on my height, so keep that in mind!
I live in a very small place, so I built it to accommodate my living area. It also brings me a great amount of joy, because I love the feeling of sitting down at an arcade for a quick shmup or beat 'em up. Since it runs Windows, I put a cheap keyboard and mouse so I can get stuff started. Other people use Batocera for such set ups, but I find that operating system lacking when it comes to running windows games like Cyber Shadow. Sorry for the huge post, but I hope you find this helpful!
@Tempestryke there's already an arcade1up Star Wars machine - I was just surprised Game aren't selling that one!
I love my Midway cab. Novelty, sure, but it's just a really nice thing to have.
@fusermarucs I see.
I'm planning to build my own Switch Arcade cabinet. It should be as simple as possible but truely a fuel size cabinet (The 1ups are not btw). You simply slide your switch into a dock and that's it. basicely plug & play.
I still have the schematics of our cabinet repair service in my head (we used to run an arcade games distribution business in the 80s and 90s). So the "shell" shouldn't be a big deal.
I'm not sure about the arcade sticks though. I love the Switch Hori Sticks but they are too small for a fullsize cabinet.
Maybe the switch Hori Hayabusas
