See, it's videos like this that are the reason fans are always miserable.

And another thing, a Nintendo Direct full of nothing but Ports and Remasters would be extremely disappointing to me. We run the risk of becoming obsessed with them and not getting any new titles.

Are we all going to be moaning about Mario Odyssey not being ported to the "Switch 2" in 4-5 years time? Probably by the looks of things.

My wife is feeling poorly and this cheered her right up.

If they hadn't called it a "Big announcement", they would have saved themselves a lot of disappointed fans.

To be honest, any of the following would make me happy;

Pokemon Let's Go Johto.
Pokemon D&P remakes.
Pokemon Stadium 3
A new Pokemon RPG in the style of Coliseum/Gale of Darkness.
A Pokemon MMO Project.

They can't really disappoint me unless they announce something underwhelming like a new mobile title or something.

I don't think we should be celebrating this. It's bad news that Nintendo failed in a market with such a huge potential player base.

It's also curious that they would choose to do less on mobile, when if they put more effort in they might end up creating something with the kind of success of Pokemon Go.

Odd decision. They should continue investing. There's no guarantee their next console will be as big a hit as the Switch. History proves that. They're putting all their eggs in one basket.

The bonus one gets my vote!

They're all good in their own way, but I would vote for Japan if I had to choose.

@Damo Fair point. IPs do get picked up by new owners, but there's bound to be some that don't and would be fair game for Freeware endeavors. But there's a bit of a difference between that and emulating games that are still being sold by the owner.

Still piracy though innit. It's not their stuff to preserve. That's up to the developers and publishers.

Don't really care if they're not in the game, EU box art is quality. The American and Japan boxarts are a bit forgettable.

I was this year's old when I found out.

You know how you could really help the environment Mr Banker? Invest your billions in ethical and responsible businesses.

If they did all these ports, they wouldn't have time to make new games.

It would also harm the sale of new games. Store shelf and eShop space would be taken up by ports, meaning less visibility for new stuff.

It's nice to dream of our favourite games on our current hardware. But there's reasons they don't port everything.

Just like real life.

Oh. I was resisting buying this excellent game a second time. Now, looks like I might pick it up at some point.

If I can offer a counter argument;

If Gamevice think their patent has been infringed or their idea stolen by Nintendo, they have every right to take it to court. That's not unreasonable is it?

By moaning about it and even hoping they go bankrupt and lose their livelihoods, you're effectively saying it's ok for big companies to steal ideas.

Are you really saying that if you invented and patented something today you should have no right to defend it when it's stolen? That's an extremely worrying and frankly childish mentality.

I'm not saying Gamevice are in the right. But if they think they are , they should be fighting it.

I'm just pleased we got to vote on three very different looking box arts this week. All unique and wonderful in their own way.

Great game! Would love a sequel. Personally I like the original PS2 version best. The motion controls and the cuts to the Wii version made it a bit disappointing.

I stared at the Japan boxart for a while before I voted for it. I couldn't decide if it was fun or derpy. I eventually decided it was ok and interesting. Otherwise it would have been that lovely black marble European box

All a bit grim, but I think Japan wins this time.

Europe. That style is very reminiscent of the time. You could use that for an action movie title. The Japan one is forgettable. And the US one... just no.

Oh and the rubber on my original 3DS analogue stick came off ages ago but still works fine.

I had the broken DS Lite hinge and a GameCube that stopped reading discs. Both got a lot of use though so not that surprised.
