@michellelynn0976 I actually finished the game (got the so called "bad" ending). Having to travel back and forth, to every area, through the desert, got annoying after a couple of hours. And those enemy encounters, in the desert was boring. It just felt like they were padding out the playtime. Especially with collecting the crystals. Thankfully that became quicker, when you could blow up the boulders.
So I DID give it a proper chance, and it's still a disappointment TO ME.
I doubt thing will change. I miss old Nintendo. I can feel that the old gang are gone, as the last couple of years, of first party games, just don't have the same feel and quality anymore. I enjoyed Super Mario Wonder though. For me, I had more fun with the 3DS, compared to the Switch. Or maybe my taste of games, have just drifted away from Nintendo...
The timelines, both in this and Zelda, is so screwed up, that there is no point to try to come up with explanations.
And dragging in "another dimension", is just making it worse.
Still disappointed in Prime 4.
There is parts of the game, that I enjoyed, but the desert and the cheesy soldiers, was just annoying.
Prime 1, will forever be my favorite.
@PlatinumTour
Yeah, it looks like the Select line, died with Wii U and 3DS...
It started in 1992, with Classic series on the NES, which turned into Players Choice in 1996, and then Nintendo Selects in 2011.
So this is something that existed, since the end of the NES era.
But now they have removed everything, including those gold coins and game vouchers.
Their first party sales, are mediocre at best.
So yeah, greed!
Insane to think, that it's been almost 40 years, since I first played the original SMB π± I still play it from time to time. The controls and platforming is still top class π
I wish Samus has SOME dialogue in the game. Every encounter with the soldiers becomes so damn awkward. At least a simple Okay, Yes or No, would go a long way.
@Rattustheratt When you get the super bomb, you can bomb those big rocks next to some crystals. The amount of crystals in those rocks, fills up the meter much faster π
I've played the Steam demo multiple times now, trying to beat the sped run. The game is just brilliant. I was hooked after just a minute.
And the hacking became instantly second nature.
Just love how you can lower the defenses of the machines, so a powerful shot, can blow them to pieces.
Looking forward to see how Switch 2 handles the game. It runs well on Steam Deck, so it shouldn't be any problems.
It went from a game I wasn't sure about, to instant pre-order.
This one, Resident Evil 9, and a new Onimusha, within the same year? Thank you Capcom!!
Prefer the classic Metroid manual we got on NES, where we got images and info about each enemy, upgrades and more. Wish they had done something similar with this one.
Mine have been collecting dust (mostly game on my Legion Go S, PS5 and PC), since I got bored with Donkey Kong Bananza.
Though Metroid Prime 4 is on the way, so finally I'll get some use out it.
Honestly, I could have waited with the upgrade, especially since I could have played MP4, on my Oled Switch 1. The Switch 2 screen is so bad in comparison...
Nothing coming up after MP4, that I'm looking forward to, so I might sell it afterwards, and buy the next revision, if it finally have gotten a great collection of new exclusives by then.
Btw, am I the only one, that replace the red cases, with clear ones? I mean isn't the point of reversal art, that you're supposed to actually see it in proper color? Such a stupid decision of Nintendo.
@Bats1234 About 2-3 months, to make the amount of carts needed, boxes and artwork, and international distribution. Retailers often get the games 2-4 weeks in advance, to be ready for the release.
100 hours to clear??
Cancelled the pre-order.
At 50, I just don't have the time or patience, for the bloated runtimes. I would just get bored after 30-40 hours, take a break, and never return to it...
What I like about the japanese, is that it features the original badguy, Hitler himself.
But otherwise, the US one wins, as it has an awesome 80:s "G.I. Joe"/"Saturday morning Cartoon" feel to it.
With a hacked Switch 1, you can remove 30fps caps, increase the resolution and settings, like in Witcher 3 and Doom etc. Same with a hacked PS4, that can run Bloodborne at higher framerates, when removing the lock.
Simple changes in settings, don't cost money, only creating brand new texture packs, and content, costs money.
@NintendoWife If they include brand new graphical features, new areas, missions on the map, then sure. But just increasing the graphics from Low to High, unlocking that 30fps cap, and using higher res textures, that already exists, then it doesn't cost them anything.
Biggest crime, is that a game, with 2001 era Gamecube graphics, are sold at $70... This should be a $30 budget title, at most. Only Nintendo gets away with this *****...
Nope, musuo games, no matter how they try to add new stuff, just ends up feeling like the same games, with new artwork.
And I'm so damn tired of the BotW universe. Time for a reboot. They used to refresh the series, just 2-5 years apart. BotW have been going on for 9 years, in a couple of months. Move on already!
I got my RGB modded AV Famicom, connected to my OledTV, through a OSSC. I have a NES pin adapter, for my NES carts. But mostly use my Everdrive N8 Pro. Sometimes, I play NES games, on my Analogue Pocket.
I also got my original NES hooked up to a 21inch Trinitron CRT, in the bedroom.
Space Marine 2, already struggles on PS5 and Xbox, so don't get too excited for a Switch 2 port. It's VERY demanding on the CPU, which sadly is a weak point on Switch 2.
@Solid_Python Optimizing for weaker hardware, with more limits, takes longer, as you have to do more work and testing to get it to run at a high and stable framerate. Some graphical effects might have to be replaced, or reworked etc.
I have barely use my Switch 2. After seeing what's coming up in 2026, so far, I wish I kept my SW1 instead, and saved the money for something else. Especially since Metroid Prime 4 already runs at 60fps, on the old hardware.
I bought Everdrive carts, for all my retro consoles. Got them hooked up to my OLED with a OSSC scaler.
No more need, waiting for Nintendo to take years/generations, to finally release the 8-16 bit games I want, on their service. Most of them will probably never see a re-release, due to license issues.
I wish they had continued with Virtual Console, which had a much better catalogue of games/consoles (at least on Wii).
At least we have Hamster's Arcade Archives, delivering the goods.
It's too bad the SW2 display, isn't real HDR, and have such low nits of brightness. But I guess a brighter display, would have given us even worse batterytime...
I remember when fans complained about the artstyle/graphics in Streets of Rage 4, and we all know how that changed, when people actually got to play it.
I hope the gameplay is fun. Been so much complaints about the graphics and people wanting pixel art instead. I'm just glad they are trying something different.
Hope the d-pad is better as well, because I'm having the same problem with the new pro, as with all the rest of the D-pads Nintendo have made, the last generations...
"No longer left behind".
Maybe for the first two years, but games will just become more demanding with time, and the next gen PS and Xbox is coming around 2027. As usual, it depends on how well the game engines, scales down to weaker hardware.
But if all developers finally gets their hand on a dev kit, and actually start using DLSS, then it's possible that SW2 might tag along a bit longer than that.

Re: Feature: Who Is Devon Pritchard? - Meet The Next NOA President Stepping Into Bowser's Boots
@michellelynn0976
I got bored around layer 8-9, and never went back.
It got way to repetitive, and very few of the worlds were fun to play, for me.
If you loved it, great!
But I don't.
