@electrolite77
It's not magic. If a game is too demanding, then there is a limit to what can be done, with optimization.
Otherwise Cyberpunk etc would run at native 4K 120fps, with raytracing, on Switch 2.

Don't get me wrong here. It's still impressive that they can make these games run at all on handhelds. But mediocre performance will once again become the norm on newer demanding games, on Nintendo hardware.

Not surprising. It's a very demanding game, even for more powerful consoles.
You have to set expectations with these huge titles. Switch 2 is more powerful, but not THAT powerful. In portabel mode, it's even weaker than the Steam Deck. It only docked, when it surpasses that handheld.

And no it doesn't have anything to do with optimization, as some engines scale down better than others to mobile hardware.
Switch 2 is basically a portable PS4.
And once again the weak CPU is often an issue.

This is why I only play first party exclusives on Nintendo hardware.

After waiting for 8 years, I have lost a lot of hype for the game.
Not sure anymore if it will deliver the goods.
The gameplay we've seen so far, didn't exactly make my jaw drop.
But we'll see.

I sure as hell hope, that Nintendo NEVER announces a game that early, ever again.

The graphical and resolution downgrade, is pretty massive in some areas, but still, cool to see how the Switch 2 version turned out. From the looks of the upscaling artifacts, it seems that FSR is used, once again, instead of the superior DLSS...

I decided to just buy first party and exclusive indie games on Switch 2, and play the rest on my PC and Legion Go S.
I think UE5 games and upcoming AAA games, will struggle on Switch 2, unless they start to take proper advantage of using DLSS instead.

But things might improve, with some additional optimizations, both when it comes to software and the hardware itself. I wish the developers had access to more RAM for games. Just an additional 1GB (going from 9 to 10GB) could go a long way. Let developers free up more memory, by disabling game-chat and video capture functions. Would gladly trade those, for better performance in games. They could do it on Switch 1, so hopefully Nintendo will let them do the same on Switch 2, in the near future.

Why they didn't include a performance mode, when they knew about the Switch 2, is just insane.
Cancelled my physical Switch edition, and bought it on Steam instead. IF, it get's a Switch 2 patch, I might buy the physical.

This is NOT a game, you wanna play with the added input lag that 30fps brings, as it's VERY dependent on quick reflexes.
Even the new Shinobi demo, with more intense action, runs better on Switch 1.

Next gen Pokémon, and it still looks like a cheap smartphone game.
Just look at the amazing 2002 era animations. And a city, where people mostly stand in one spot and stare. Maybe in 2045, we'll finally get a game of AA quality.

The Pokémon Company sure knows how to spend the bare minimum of money, making a game, and then laugh, all the way to the bank, as the game keeps printing money for them.🤑
Good for them...I guess...

I'm using an emulator to play on both the 3DS and Quest 3. I don't understand, why they never released VB games officially on the 3DS, as it works perfectly. Much easier on the eyes, compared to the original hardware, even though it was never as bad as people made it out to be. The 3D effect was flawless.
