If Nintendo didn't wait so long, to send (or not send at all) developer devkits for Switch 2, then we wouldn't be in this mess. Maybe we'll get Switch 2 ports, at a later date? But I'll just play it on PS5 or PC, instead of waiting for a port that might come six months later.
I wish I had just stuck to my 8BitDo controller. The overall feel of the Pro2 controller is amazing, but I'm already having problems with the left stick. And the D-pad, are making wrong inputs, going to the sides, instead of down, about 50% of the time... Nintendo used to make the best D-pads in the world...
Next gen Pokémon, and it still looks like a cheap smartphone game. Just look at the amazing 2002 era animations. And a city, where people mostly stand in one spot and stare. Maybe in 2045, we'll finally get a game of AA quality.
The Pokémon Company sure knows how to spend the bare minimum of money, making a game, and then laugh, all the way to the bank, as the game keeps printing money for them.🤑 Good for them...I guess...
I'm using an emulator to play on both the 3DS and Quest 3. I don't understand, why they never released VB games officially on the 3DS, as it works perfectly. Much easier on the eyes, compared to the original hardware, even though it was never as bad as people made it out to be. The 3D effect was flawless.
The port is so bad, I just stopped playing the demo, after 10 minutes and uninstalled it. Even though it was the Switch 2 version, it still looked and ran, like a bad Switch 1 port.
I bought cheap Switch 1 cases, and replaced the red ones.
That way you can clearly see the reversal art, with proper colors, instead of the heavy red tint.
Nintendo made a console with Nvidia tech and VRR. And yet they use FSR1, the worst of the upscalers. Sometimes I wonder if Nintendo even knows how this tech work...
Waiting for the standard "works great on MY console" and "I hate DF" comments 😂
About the performance.
The framerate drops pretty brutally, down to 30, and sticks to that, during some FX heavy bossfights. It's really jarring when it happens, as it's mostly 60 otherwise.
And no, this is not something you can blink and miss.
And it's yet another game, where they don't use VRR, to smooth out those drops...
@Oakview80
That's because your controller is brand new. This is about how unnecessary hard it is to repair, if things break.
Having to dig through the controller, to get to the battery, is just stupid. Nintendo used to have easy access, to replace batteries, on their handhelds and controllers.
But thanks to blind fanboys like you, they keep getting away with this sh*t.
People being angry about some of us getting the game early, has nothing to do with spoilers, it's just envy.
And I bet all the once complaining, would be happy themselves, if the game arrived early.
Man I miss Iwata, and how he interacted with the fanbase. Sure everything wasn't perfect back then either, but Nintendo was more fun, during his era, and less like a stiff "evil corporation".
@AllBLK
Problem is, those blind fanboys don't seem to have any standards.
Game runs at 576p 23fps:
"Runs great on MY system" etc 😂
And back in the 80s-90s most first party games, ran at 60fps.
Even most Intellivision, 2600 and C64 games, ran in 60 (or 50 here in Pal land).
Even PONG and 70s arcade games, ran at 60fps (or some weird 59hz standard).
It wasn't really until the N64 era, that framerates became a huge problem. But 3D was new back then, so we accepted it.
So yeah, 60fps have mostly been a standard since day 1.
Some small drops (around 50fps) during massive (CPU heavy) effect and explosions, okey fine.
But if we get 30fps dips, during action heavy moment, then it will become annoying.
@LuigiBlood Even though it's not 100% perfect, I do think that the emulation M2 delivers, is pretty damn good. Not all official emulation is bad, it's just that Nintendo often seems to suck at it.
To the people complaining about DF.
How about just skipping those articles?
When DF pointed out flaws in the N64 emulation, things were fixed. Developers actually listen to their feedback.
If you don't point out these things, Nintendo won't bother to fix them. It's why Nintendo keeps getting away with issues with their software/hardware, because fanboys keep defending them.
It's sad, when the Dolphin emulator, does a much better job, than an official emulator...
What really DOES suck, is the damn dpad.
Been playing some Contra and Quest of Dungeons, and often when I push down, it goes to the left instead...
Gonna get a 8bitdo instead.
@AllBLK
Just because it is delisted, doesn't mean that you loose access to the download of the game, if you bought it.
Lots of PS3 and 360 games got delisted, like Afterburner Climax and Outrun 2, but I can still log in, and redownload them. Same with games on Steam, that have been delisted. If they actually ripped the games out of your collection, then the uproar on the internet, would give them hell, for removing your games.
And they can try to do that here in EU, where we have even better protection against stuff like this.
Bought the original Ys Nordics on Steam, and not long after, they announced this improved version, with lots of new content. And of course, no free or cheap way to upgrade.
I'll never buy another Falcom game, on day one, ever again. I'll just wait for the enhanced versions instead...
Felt like I was about to go into epileptic seizure, by watching the trailer.
Not a fan of this trend, in many modern Japanese games, of having a billion effects and particles explode all over screen, making the action harder to see.
Been a while, since I enjoyed a new Inti Create game.
Loved most of their earlier games, but not a fan of their current direction.
I've supported some of the newer gaming magazines, like Zzap64 and Nintendo Force, but quickly lost interest. The quality of the content, just isn't the same as the 80:s-90:s magazines.
I'm just gonna buy first party games and indies on Switch 2. Third party AAA games, I'll rather play on more powerful hardware. The combo of having both a PC and a Nintendo console, have served me well, for many years now.
A HDMI cable, sends 1:s and 0:s to the display. It doesn't have anything to do with controllers. This is a wireless issue. I saw a video of someone having this issue, and it had to do with the antenna in the joycons.
Even back in 2001, I just couldn't get into the game, due to the terrible controls. I can understand people having nostalgia for the game, but it was never a great game.
Pathetic fanboys crying again. When DF brings out the positives about Switch 2, they still aren't satisfied. DF brings out positives and negatives in ALL platforms, including PC. Wonder how these insecure fanboys, handle criticism in real life.
@obijuankanoobie I hope someone else, gets the chance to make a Kid Icarus game. So many classic Nintendo IP:s, from all the way back to the NES, that would be great, to see revived again.
@Paper_Yoshi Be happy that you can't tell the difference.👍 I wish I was among you guys, but sadly, being used to plenty of modern handhelds, with much better screens, my eyes can't unsee it...
@Duncanballs Nintendo don't buy the screens one at a time, but getting discounts by ordering millions of them. It would only have cost them a buck more. But sure, Nintendo would plobably add another $100 to the price, due to greed. When even some $150 handhelds got Oled now, the excuse of it being much more expensive, is not valid anymore.
If Nintendo offered free screen replacements, to a better screen with no motion issues, I bet that even the "nothing wrong here" crowd, would jump on the offer 😉
@KoopaTheGamer
There is plenty of them, as shown on other handhelds. The Rog Ally screen, even the cheapest model (same price as the Switch2), has all that, AND sharp motion.
@Archius9 Yeah, I noticed some issues, when playing Shadow of the Ninja remake. Even on 3D games, like the Paper Mario remake, when letting go of the stick, it can sometimes register it, as another direction.
@Magician
It's insane how cheap Nintendo is with these things. Switch 1 have printed money since day 1, and they have made so much money on their old games, that never goes down in price.
But nope, they had to pick the slowest LCD out there, just to save a couple of bucks...
I'm gonna keep my Switch 1 (LCD) for when playing 2D games in handheld.
It's much clearer, in motion.
Also some unpatched games, like Octopath Traveler etc, looks extremely blurry on the bigger higher res Switch 2 screen.
This could have been solved, by having Switch 1 games, runs as docked, all the time.
So until those games have been patched (hopefully), then I'll continue to use the Switch 1, when playing handheld.
I think it's better, that NL stops making DF articles.
Reading the comments, fanboys just can't handle the slightest criticism, of their precious box of electronics, and games.
People who don't care, that's fine. Glad you enjoy it anyways.
But fanboys going unhinged, defending Nintendo's decision, to cheap out, with a screen, that have worse blur than the last gen? Well, I better not say what I think of them, as the comment would be deleted.

Except for the framerate problems, the game itself (too ME), is much more fun to play, than Odyssey. The pacing is better overall.
