Because you can sell or trade the game, when you're done with it, or lend it to a friend.

I wish Nintendo still made handhelds like this, with dedicated games, that was optimized for the hardware.
Switch 2 is too damn big and uncomfortable to use.

People defending this sh*tty upgrade/"remaster", is the reason why developers are sloppy these days.

This is the kind of "slop" you expect, to fill the void at the end of a console generation, not in the beginning.

Nintendo selling this at full price, is pure insanity. This should be a budget game, at around 20-30 euros at most.
It's not exactly a 100 million budget, AAA game. But I guess anything Mario, is instant 80-90 euros...

Considering how terrible the performance is, even on PS5 Pro and a high end PC, I don't have any hopes for the Switch 2 version.
The Steam Deck can barely stay at 20fps.
Though pretty expected as Suda51 games, usually have terrible performance 🤣

I pre-ordered the PC version, but I'm also considering buying the Switch 2 version, for my girlfriend, as it's a very impressive port. So many great Capcom games coming out this year

I have played all demo versions now (PC, PS5 Pro, Switch),
and I must say that Capcom have done an amazing job with the Switch 2 version. Handheld the game struggles, but docked, it both runs and looks better than expected. There seems to be a little bit of raytracing in there as well, and DLSS makes it look really sharp
Sure, there are still some hitches and stutters, but nothing gamebreaking at all. If Switch 2 was my only system, I would have been VERY happy with this one.
You're in for a real treat, and I expect the new Resident Evil, to be just as good.
Great job Capcom!

Nobody is forcing anyone to buy the SD card, as the game will be just fine, downloaded on a regular SD card. There is Zelda and Mario branded SD cards as well. It's just a fun extra.

If I didn't already have the RE games on PC, I would have bought them all on Switch, and put them on that SD card. And voilà, you have a physical RE collection, all on one officially licensed SD card 😁

Nintendo cover art, have been sh*t for almost 30 years now.
I just hate the cheap CGI designs, that they have used since the N64 era. Sometimes, they can surprise us, with old-school hand painted artwork, but it's VERY rare. The Zelda covers have been pretty good though.

I'm disappointed by the lack of upgrades.
Having SW1 games being stuck at max 720p, when playing portable, looks worse, on the higher res display.
And many more demanding games, scale REALLY badly, from around 520p to the new 1080p display, making them look terrible.
I had hoped that they would add a mode to play SW1 games as "docked", even in portable mode.

Any kind of artwork, (if done by human, not AI) is done using creativity. Even if it's nudity.

Nintendos family commercials, have always looked kinda weird to me. Everyone is so insanely over the top happy, that they look like brainwashed cult members.

I played the demo on PC, and instantly pre-ordered the game.
Something that I almost never do, these days.

I have an original VB, and there a some excellent games on there.
Also my modded 3DS, play these games flawlessly in 3D.
Just like with a Vectrex, current displays, can't perfectly recreate the look, but the 3D depth on the 3DS emulator, is pretty much the same as on an original VB.

Metroid is sadly not a system seller, compared to Zelda or Mario.
And Switch 1, had both a new 3D Zelda and 3D Mario, during the same year.
But let's see if Nintendo deliver the goods this year. And hopefully not a bunch of ports and Switch 2 Editions.

Just like with the Wii to Wii U situation, the casuals might have moved on, to something else. Sure, it sells MUCH better than the Wii U ever did, but I doubt Switch 2, will sell anyway near the numbers, of the first one.
Nintendo isn't alone now, making powerful handhelds, that also can play docked.
And the price of the Switch 2 and games, are too much.
Especially in today's economy.

Yeah the 3D is definitely on my top 5 of the best, on 3DS. 😁👍
Most games, the 3D just becomes a gimmick.

Too bad 3D TV:s are over with, as it could have looked really epic, on a huge screen.

I wish Nintendo would port over Kid Icarus Uprising. Would be sad if it will be stuck and forgotten on 3DS forever.
Being able to play the game with dual sticks, would make the experience MUCH better.
And it could also help to see if there is interest enough to make a new game in the franchise.

Definitely Europe for this one.
Don't understand the reason for the major cropping, on the Japan cover.

As someone who only bought Switch 2 for the first party and exclusive third-party games (I got PC and PS5 for the rest), this is not looking promising...
Let's hope Nintendo have a bunch of NEW titles to announce soon, and not just a wave of "Switch 2 Editions".

I actually finished the game (got the so called "bad" ending).
Having to travel back and forth, to every area, through the desert, got annoying after a couple of hours. And those enemy encounters, in the desert was boring. It just felt like they were padding out the playtime. Especially with collecting the crystals. Thankfully that became quicker, when you could blow up the boulders.

So I DID give it a proper chance, and it's still a disappointment TO ME.

I got bored around layer 8-9, and never went back.
It got way to repetitive, and very few of the worlds were fun to play, for me.

If you loved it, great!
But I don't.

I doubt thing will change.
I miss old Nintendo.
I can feel that the old gang are gone, as the last couple of years, of first party games, just don't have the same feel and quality anymore. I enjoyed Super Mario Wonder though.
For me, I had more fun with the 3DS, compared to the Switch.
Or maybe my taste of games, have just drifted away from Nintendo...

Yeah, those boulders filled up my meter much faster than expected. I feared I would be stuck for hours , collecting those damn crystals.

The timelines, both in this and Zelda, is so screwed up, that there is no point to try to come up with explanations.

And dragging in "another dimension", is just making it worse.

Still disappointed in Prime 4.
There is parts of the game, that I enjoyed, but the desert and the cheesy soldiers, was just annoying.
Prime 1, will forever be my favorite.

Yeah, it looks like the Select line, died with Wii U and 3DS...
It started in 1992, with Classic series on the NES, which turned into Players Choice in 1996, and then Nintendo Selects in 2011.
So this is something that existed, since the end of the NES era.
But now they have removed everything, including those gold coins and game vouchers.

Their first party sales, are mediocre at best.
So yeah, greed!

Insane to think, that it's been almost 40 years, since I first played the original SMB 😱
I still play it from time to time.
The controls and platforming is still top class 👍

If he made a Mario game, it would be 100 hours of cutscenes, and 5 hours of actual gameplay 😜

I wish Samus has SOME dialogue in the game.
Every encounter with the soldiers becomes so damn awkward. At least a simple Okay, Yes or No, would go a long way.

When you get the super bomb, you can bomb those big rocks next to some crystals. The amount of crystals in those rocks, fills up the meter much faster 👍

I got a feeling that we won't get a Prime 5, anytime soon 🤣
The game was okay, but not worth the wait.

Hope the next 3D Metroid, is in third person.
Though before that, we need another 2D game.

I've played the Steam demo multiple times now, trying to beat the sped run. The game is just brilliant. I was hooked after just a minute.
And the hacking became instantly second nature.
Just love how you can lower the defenses of the machines, so a powerful shot, can blow them to pieces.

Looking forward to see how Switch 2 handles the game. It runs well on Steam Deck, so it shouldn't be any problems.

Prefer the classic Metroid manual we got on NES, where we got images and info about each enemy, upgrades and more.
Wish they had done something similar with this one.

Mine have been collecting dust (mostly game on my Legion Go S, PS5 and PC), since I got bored with Donkey Kong Bananza.
Though Metroid Prime 4 is on the way, so finally I'll get some use out it.
Honestly, I could have waited with the upgrade, especially since I could have played MP4, on my Oled Switch 1. The Switch 2 screen is so bad in comparison...

Nothing coming up after MP4, that I'm looking forward to, so I might sell it afterwards, and buy the next revision, if it finally have gotten a great collection of new exclusives by then.
