There are cheap Chinese emulator handhelds, with OLED screens.
The tech isn't as expensive as it used to be.

Well they can try to brick a console here in EU.
The consumer protection laws, will give them hell, if they do.
They are only allowed to block access to the pirated game.
So second hand systems around here, should be safe to buy.

I was very disappointed by the motion blur.
Adding a display with slower response time, compared to the LCD on SW1, is not what I expected from a 2025 handheld...

What ever we get, I hope it's not Odyssey 2.
Rather they take their time and make something fresh, with the 3D games. And I wouldn't mind another 2D game, before that.
Had MUCH more fun with Wonders, compared to Odyssey.

Overall, I'm feeling a bit burned out by Mario.
So many other IP:s, that they could bring back, before the next Mario game.

No it's not. It's typical 480p DV video resolution.
And the compressed quality is also as low as expected.

Got plenty of DV tapes, and this is what it looked like.

Found someone who made mockups, that look much better than the official Switch 2 design.

A lot of people have multiple systems, and have already played those games, years ago, on PS5, PC or Xbox.

Personally I buy Nintendo consoles for the first party exclusives, while I play everything else on PC or PS5.

Won't happen, but I would love a new Final Fight, Mega Man, Ghost n Goblins and Gargoyles Quest.

Screw timelines and lore, it's a game with Donkey Kong smashing things, that's all I care for.

I'm so glad that Gamestop shutdown, here in Sweden a couple of years ago. The few times I went there, I felt like being robbed by them.

How Gamestop is still around, in some parts of the world, is just insane. Support your "mom and pop" stores instead.

Using HGiG fixed the issues for me, on a LG oled.

I wish Nintendo would have used something like Gorilla glass on the console, especially at this price point.
The dock design is just stupid to begin with, compared to the ones for the PC handhelds.

I put a glass screen protector on my Switch2, directly out of the box.

I wish they would recast the English voice acress in Zelda. The intro sequence in Tears of the Kingdom, was all I could take before changing to Japan voices.
She sound like a parody of a British princess...

I had forgotten about the cross save feature.
Now I can continue to play on both PC and the Switch.

Played the Steam demo, and it's amazing.
Definitely buying the special edition on Switch.

You can't have watched much of their content then, as they have praised Nintendo games and ports plenty of times, and also done DF Retro episodes about their consoles.

They analyze tech, and if a game runs badly, on ANY console or PC, they will comment on that. And plenty of games have been patched after their videos, as they talk to the developers.

So they don't have a Vendetta,. but it sound like YOU have one against them, for some reason.

Even though, I have it on PC, I was about to buy the Switch2 version. But after trying it in the store, the stutters and unstable framerate, just made it a chore to play. As the input lag it adds to the combat, makes it hard to aim, when the framerate drops.
It looks great though.

This is disappointing, compared to the SW1 Oled model....
I hope we can buy a grip, with a build in battery, so we don't have to bring a bunch of powerbanks on the trip.
It's like the GameGear/Lynx all over again 😂
Looking at a teardown, there is definitely room for a bigger battery in there.
I wouldn't mind if the Switch was thicker, do be able to fit even bigger batteries.

Oh well. Hoping for some third party solution.

At least on my unit, it has the same amount of blur, as the Wii U gamepad.
My Switch 1 LCD has less blur...
And the HDR is useless on the handheld screen, as it doesn't have the contrast and dynamic range to properly take advantage of it.

Really disappointing.

Yeah the Deck case, is great. Perfect fit and much better protection, compared to this one.

The case is much softer, compared to the one for Switch 1. This one doesn't feel as secure.

How is it stupid? One is a console, the other is a Gaming PC. They're not competing.

It's a different market.
I don't know why these articles keeps coming up. Yes it's portable, but it' also a fullblown gaming PC, and not a console.

Even if I didn't get the bundle, this is a game I actually would pay $80 for. Nintendo games have infinite replay value.
I mean I still replay my NES games today.
Compare that to other AAA games, like Assassins Creed, which you play once, and never touch again.

Yes, I would rather it was $60-$70.
But, this is a game, that I will play for at least a decade

We might probably hear more about ports a bit later.
Seems a lot of devs got their devkits, very close to the launch of the console. I bet it will be like on SW1, that ports will arrive a couple of months later.

Though we also have to be prepared for some AAA games, not coming to SW2, due to the latest graphics engines being way too demanding, for a portable system. But we'll see.

That's impressive.
So, what are their excuse, for making the Pokemon games so cheap and primitive looking?
