This was possibly the best Indie World Showcase Nintendo has ever put out! I always have a difficult time getting into Indie World presentations as they rarely show anything that grabs my attention. This one though I felt showed banger after banger. Though I have to ask where in the world is Enter the Gungeon 2? We haven't heard anything about it since the first Switch 2 direct.
@Jayvir I was wondering this myself and was just about to comment this very question. I’m curious how much incentive there is to play post credits. I’m also wondering if the game will receive regular updates of new Pokemon quests, which could act as this games way of keeping it fresh by consistently offering something new
@EarthboundBenjy yeah, very disappointing that HOME is going to be a one way transfer. Really wanted to complete this game’s national dex with my fiancée
Since this game’s announcement I’ve had exactly 0 interest in it despite being a Pokemon fan. I never liked Minecraft, and despite enjoying Animal Crossing I often struggle with building up my island. I really lack the creativity these kinds of games require of the player. That said this last trailer really has me considering picking this game up. Not sure if I should take the plunge. I suppose I’ll wait for reviews. I’d like to see some simple light combat like Fantasy Life i style, but it looks like that definitely isn’t happening which is a shame.
@Djreisat did you notice it specifically with the Switch 2 upgrade? I played the Switch 1 version for hours on my Switch 2 never had an issue. Only experienced crashing after the Switch 2 version. To be fair I haven’t even gotten to Shredder yet, Bebop and Rocksteady are no joke
I’ve had some crashing issues since the Switch 2 edition launched. The game looks and feels great with the update, but I hope that alongside this the update fixes these crashing issues
Sooooo… if they bothered to correct the compatibility I’m guessing a Switch 2 version is not on the table then. I figured with Bethesda showing so much support lately that it might just happen
How about instead of things like this we get updates letting us know a release window of the content announced for the other versions? There’s really no good reason DLC packs 1, 2, and 3 couldn’t have been released simultaneously and at launch, and put the Switch 2 version on the same schedule for content rollout. I get that this released a year after the other versions, but is it now just going to forever be playing catch up with the other versions? As of now we don’t even have confirmation of Mission 100, Survival Mode, or the new DLC. Of course it’s coming eventually, but why intentionally keep the Switch versions behind everybody else?
I own the vanilla version physically for Switch 1. I was going to get the anniversary edition to upgrade to the Switch 2 version until I heard how bad it was. Looks like now might be the time to get that upgrade
Mine shipped yesterday, expected to arrive Monday. Really wish Nintendo got these out a little earlier to anticipate any possible delays in shipping since the app is useless without it. I’m hoping it arrives on time without a hitch. Really looking forward to these games. Also, as somebody who never owned one and wanted it and even rented it from blockbuster back in the day just having the replica headset will make me very happy
@Haruki_NLI I had to scroll down far too low to see somebody mentioning wanting to see the 1999 game. This is what I want. Now that Castlevania is officially back, and we are not dealing with the abysmal Lord of Shadows continuity, the dream is alive once again! We might be waiting a while though, I could definitely see something as big as the 1999 game being held back for the franchises 50th anniversary
“ you can play Hollow Knight at 4K resolution (docked) and 120fps”
While this is common knowledge for most of us here this is written in a way that can be misleading as it implies you can play at 4K 120fps docked which is wrong, it’s either 4K 60fps or 1080p 120fps.
I got stuck on a part years ago pretty late game. I bought Silksong when it was on sale knowing I want to play it, but was waiting for this update to finish the original game first. I’m starting over from scratch, hopefully I get better at it and maybe the smoother 120fps will help
Much sooner than expected. Makes me wonder if the third entry will launch simultaneously with the PS5 version barring any Sony timed exclusivity. It would be a good get for us for a day and date launch
Disappointed in the lack of confirmed Switch 2 features. Hoping that we get something closer to release. Seems silly not to have mouse controls for this game, and I feel after 6 months on the market (approaching 7) no first party title launching for Switch 1 has any right playing 720p or less in handheld. At the very least we should have full 1080p handheld on Switch 2. Otherwise solid presentation
@JohnnyMind oh nice! Good call. I saw “Game Key Card” while skimming the article for whether a US release was confirmed and when my brain sees those words it automatically associates it with being a GKC release. My fault for not reading more thoroughly.
Looks very Macross/Robotech. I’m very interested to try this. Hoping for a US eshop release, though if not maybe this will be the one Game Key Card I actually buy
@canaryfarmer I’m still curious about that. The games would have to have an option to disable stereoscopic 3D. It’s possible this was done exclusively for the trailer recorded off a pc not even running off the original hardware. I do hope Nintendo surprises us and allows for the games to be played docked and handheld in a flat mode. They will of course be more enjoyable being played as intended, but I’d like the option, and this is coming from somebody who has the VB shell on preorder
@Kriandis I’m going to play devil’s advocate here and say while I’d love for Nintendo to eventually make a cartridge with all the VB games available (once the entire library has been released to NSO) so we have permanent access to them I’m also not bothered by the decision. Here’s the way I look at it, I’m already a NSO expansion pass subscriber. N64, GBA, Sega Genesis, and especially GameCube already give the service so much value that it’s a no brainer for me. I don’t think VB is being added to get any additional subs. I doubt Nintendo expects this to be the addition that gets new subs, especially with the requirement of additional hardware cost. This is to add value to those who already have it, for the hardcore nostalgia Nintendo fan that was around in 1995 and remembers trying this in a store demo unit or, like me, rented it back from Blockbuster. This is meant more to add value to the service for those already subscribed. Time will tell if the cost of the service goes up, but for now I don’t see myself dropping the service any time soon due to it being such a great value. Personally, I have my VB accessory preordered and legitimately looking forward to release next month. My only concern is I hope Nintendo ships these out enough time in advance so they arrive by the time the app releases
I already own the digital version of FF VII on Switch so I'm not concerned with the special bonus, but I'm more wondering if the $39.99 price is a temporary special price as well. It's not listed as a sale price specifically, but can anybody confirm if it will remain at $39.99 after January 31? I don't really want to pick it up right now, but if the price will shoot back up to $59.99 and I have to wait for a sale to get it at this price again I might as well suck it up and grab it
@RumandCohibas I think Nintendo did really good with Switch 2 in 2025, especially when compared to its competitors. Within the first 6 months for exclusives we got Mario Kart World, DK Bananza, Hyrule Warriors Age of Imprisonment, and Kirby Air Riders as 100% exclusives. If we count Switch 2 editions we got Metroid Prime 4 and Pokemon Z-A. So not counting ports we got 6 big titles in the span of 6 months with two that could be played on the previous gen. Look at the PS5 and Series X/S when they launched. PS5 really only had what Returnal and a remake of a PS3 game (Demon Souls) as its true exclusives and Xbox Series had no exclusives at all. Pretty much everything was cross generation. We already know we are getting the new Fire Emblem and we should be getting Duskbloods so at the very least we already know two big Switch 2 exclusive games for 2026, and Pokemon gen 10 is rumored for 2026 as well. Nintendo will not let us down
Is this list in any specific order? If so Fantasy Life i is ranked far too low on this list, it should easily hit the top 5. I was almost going to comment how garbage this list was that Trails in the Sky 1st wasn’t on here until I saw it was in the number 1 slot which surprised me. The though the lack of Pokemon Z-A (unless I simply missed it) is pretty unforgivable for a top 50 list. I know the game is divisive, but it’s certainly quality enough to land within the top 50 for the first 6 months of the Switch 2’s launch. Also TMNT Splintered Fate Switch 2 edition should be on here over some of the other games I saw
Still think GameCube had the best launch line up of any Nintendo console ever. Switch 2 is definitely up there though if you only game on Nintendo consoles and therefore missed out on the likes of Yakuza and Cyberpunk, and if you never played BotW and TotK it’s the best way to play those games, but as a whole GameCube has the title for me and its not even close
The demo was fantastic! I have the base PS4 game. I never got around to upgrading to the Intergrade version, and the demo convinced me that for the $20 extra it’s worth it for me to get the Switch 2 Intergrade version instead as I’m on my Switch 2 far more often than my PS5
I loved the first power wash simulator on Switch 1, haven't picked this up yet but hope to soon. Kinda wish PWS 1 got a Switch 2 version as well. I'll pick this up eventually (waiting on a sale as I have more than enough to play right now), but disappointed in the theme for this first DLC. I hope the next DLC packs get better franchises. If the price is right though I'll probably get this eventually just to have more things to do in the game
I forgot this was even coming! I still have yet to finish the main adventure, I really should jump back into it. I don’t know what Christmas will bring, but as I just finished Metroid Prime 4 last night might be a great time to jump back in. I do want to go back to Yakuza Zero as well, there has just been too much to play on Switch 2 for me to keep up with.
@TheExile285 yeah, KT is really completely unpredictable in this regard. Three Hopes definitely should’ve gotten dlc, especially with how it just sort of ends, at least with the Golden Deer route, I still have to play the other two, but I’ve heard it’s much the same. Then at the same time we have One Piece Pirate Warriors 4 that not only got a Switch 2 edition but also got new characters for all platforms after how many years after release? So it is difficult to predict, and ultimately it’s up to Nintendo if it happens. I imagine that this wasn’t as successful as AoC simply due to install base, but I’ll be willing to bet it was more successful than FE 3H.
@TheExile285 Age of Calamity got paid dlc like almost a year after launch and when the game released there was no indication of any plans for post launch dlc so even if we don’t get an additional character with update 3 I’d say the possibility still exists. I’m not about to lose hope for playable Ganondorf.
@BaldB3lper78 virtual Boy actually did have some gems that have been trapped on the failed console. More Game Cube games will come, I do hope we get Dreamcast eventually, though not before Saturn. But getting these games for the first time in 30 years it’s a huge deal.
Expensive plastic shell obtained. I just couldn’t resist as a lifelong Nintendo fan a curio like this is a must, plus I actually have fond memories of renting Virtual Boy from Blockbuster as a kid. I wanted to own one but never got it. This is my chance to play again in the most authentic way possible in 2026. That said I do wish for $100 that it came with a VB controller as well to give that full authentic feel
Super excited for this! I was hoping since the developers have still been releasing content for this that it was just a matter of time but then I figured that was just me coping. I just got my physical collector’s edition on Friday, and when I’m taking breaks in Metroid Prime 4 I’m doing some runs in Splintered Fate, but portable mode on Switch 2 is really rough. Character models, specifically the turtles, look extremely blurry
I will of course continue the adventure with Samus in Metroid Prime 4 Beyond. I’m loving the game so far! It may not be perfect, but the game is fantastic! I also finally got my copy of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Splintered Fate after my collector’s edition had been delayed multiple times and attempted one run so far getting up to stage 3 before ending the run so I’ll be playing that too. Played the game 2 or 3 years ago on Apple Arcade but never completed it plus with the newly added dlc and arcade mode there’s significantly more content than when I played it before. I may also hop into Kirby Air Riders and/or Mario Kart World for a bit. I still haven’t touched MKW since the big new update they did that apparently fixes much of the game so I’m curious about it. Realistically though I know I’m not going to have time to play all of this with it being holiday season and much of my free time being devoted to my step daughter but I’m sure I'll get some gaming in
Trying to finish DK Bananza event to get the Lanky Kong statue. Most I have been able to get is 750,000. Got a feeling I won’t be able to hit the 1,000,000 mark. Finished the Kirby Air Riders event last night
8/10 for me. I’m having a fantastic time with it, but the amount of content overall leaves me concerned for its longevity. More tracks on both Air Ride and especially Top Ride would’ve been welcome as well as at least one other City Trial map. This is a game that I feel dlc would’ve been much more appreciated. Some post launch updates ala Splatoon would have pushed it to a 10/10 for me
Picked mine up this morning but didn’t have much time to dive in before work. I have another 2 hours to go before I can go home and put some real time into it. Unfortunately, short of a single City Trial I completely missed the demo times due to my work schedule on Saturdays being a wash and the fiancé has me on Sundays, so I’m looking forward to getting some real time with the game
Still waiting for my physical copy of the Pipin Hot Collectors edition… it keeps getting pushed back, now says December 5th… exactly one day after Metroid Prime 4 so even if it does come looks like it’ll be a bit before I boot it up
I hope I can get into this game. Sakurai is a brilliant developer and I can see so much potential with this game. I didn’t really get much of a chance to participate in the global demo, only managed one or two city trial runs in the first weekend, and wasn’t thrilled with the chaotic nature of it. Hoping I just have to get used to it and get more time with it.
I disagree with those people saying this is a good reason to delay this. If it doesn’t need any additional work and the update itself is ready to go just release it digitally and give us the physical release later. I ended up buying the Switch 1 version digitally because I can’t stand trying to get anything through Limited Run. I was really looking forward to the Switch 2 upgrade. If this were a brand new game and they delayed it to have a simultaneous release that’s one thing, but this is a Switch 2 version of a game that released a year ago. Most of us that wanted it probably already have it. This release is really mostly for the obsessed collectors out there that will buy it just because it exists in a physical format. I see no reason to hold the digital version hostage in this situation.
Do people actually want this controller? Honest question, because it’s not even that great of a design for a special edition controller. Granted I’m not much of a RE fan to begin with (though I’m considering giving VII, VIII, and IX a chance on Switch 2) but it just looks boring to me. Also the way the Switch 2 logo cuts the design off is especially egregious
@KidSparta it gives it a smoother look. It’s not necessary in the slightest for this game, but even a 40fps boost would’ve been welcome. Not a dealbreaker, but it would’ve been nice. At least with the Switch 2 we shouldn’t see the frame rate chug in the low 20’s to teens in over populated islands anymore. I remember my ex’s island the poor Switch had such a hard time keeping up because of how much stuff she put out.
@CupidStunt I’m fairly sure that despite the far more simplistic art style ACNH is actually a more demanding game than MP4. If you’ve ever visited an island with the max amount of furniture, flowers, etc the game can completely bog down. Can Switch 2 run it at 60 fps? I’m sure it can, but can it reliably run it stable no matter how many elements are present on the island? That I’m not so sure about, which is probably why they stuck with 30 capped. As I stated above though, 40 capped on 120hz display would’ve been a nice compromise
I want the Zelda stuff but I DONT want to have to open my mint in box amiibos. I like how they look in the packaging. I’m hoping these items and villagers aren’t completely locked to amiibos and can be obtained in other ways even if it takes far longer, like the daily fortune cookies from New Leaf
Really would rather have a new game… all this is going to do is push back the possibility of getting a new AC game anytime soon. ACNH brought some good new features like being able to decorate outside of the house, more interior decorating options, etc as well as diy crafting. These elements I would like to see migrated to a new AC game because these features aside ACNH is still the inferior AC game compared to New Leaf.
@Bunkerneath who said this is another alternate timeline. I don’t see anything in here that makes it seem like this won’t be canon. This game is supposed to depict the Imprisoning War as had occurred after Zelda went back in time in TotK. Age of Calamity did take liberties with the story and became more of an alternate timeline because of things that contradicted BotW, and the same could happen for this game, but as of now nothing that’s been said or shown about this game indicates it won’t be the canon events to my knowledge unless I’m missing something
I was really hoping we would get a free Switch 2 update for Age of Calamity to bring that game up to Age of Imprisonment’s standards while we waited for this release. I guess Nintendo was concerned that people would just skip on AoI if they did that. Hopefully after this release they do it. I’d love to have 60 fps in AoC. Regardless I can’t wait to pick up my copy of this game in two weeks! Between this, Air Riders (which the recent direct pushed my hype level to max) and Metroid Prime 4 the next two months are going to be extremely stacked
There’s a huge difference between DLC being actively worked on while a game is in development and planning DLC for long term support. I love the fact that Sakurai confirmed no content is being held back for DLC, but I don’t know why I’m seeing so many people applauding the lack of planned long term support. I certainly wouldn’t mind a new course pack or a new City Trial map offered as DLC in the next year or two, especially if this isn’t planned as an ongoing series. Remember folks DLC isn’t inherently bad, it’s how the developers and publishers utilize It. A game like this can benefit from post release DLC support. I hope Sakurai is just trolling us the same way he did with Smash Ultimate DLC when he told us wave 1 was going to be our only DLC until it wasn’t and wave 2 was announced.
@dew12333 Thank you! We are spending 3 days in Tokyo, a day in Hakone, and 3 days in Kyoto before going back towards Tokyo for a day at Disneyland Tokyo before flying home. Any specific things you recommend we check out, doesn’t necessarily have to be Nintendo related
I will be in Kyoto this coming May for my honeymoon and the Nintendo museum is high on the list of things we are hoping to get to see. My understanding is that tickets are sold on a lottery system, I'm hoping we can get in!

I don’t know what Christmas will bring, but as I just finished Metroid Prime 4 last night might be a great time to jump back in. I do want to go back to Yakuza Zero as well, there has just been too much to play on Switch 2 for me to keep up with.
Re: Hyrule Warriors: Age Of Imprisonment's Next Patch Out This Week, Adds New Difficulty Mode
Re: Hyrule Warriors: Age Of Imprisonment's Next Patch Out This Week, Adds New Difficulty Mode
@TheExile285 Age of Calamity got paid dlc like almost a year after launch and when the game released there was no indication of any plans for post launch dlc so even if we don’t get an additional character with update 3 I’d say the possibility still exists. I’m not about to lose hope for playable Ganondorf.
Re: Mega Man Dual Override Announced For Switch 2 And Switch, Out 2027
Happy to see Megaman finally coming back, though I’m still waiting for X9 or Legends 3. Hopefully this will be Megaman’s big comeback
Re: Reminder: Virtual Boy For Switch And Switch 2 Are Available On The My Nintendo Store
@BaldB3lper78 virtual Boy actually did have some gems that have been trapped on the failed console. More Game Cube games will come, I do hope we get Dreamcast eventually, though not before Saturn. But getting these games for the first time in 30 years it’s a huge deal.
Re: Reminder: Virtual Boy For Switch And Switch 2 Are Available On The My Nintendo Store
Re: Cowabunga! TMNT Roguelike 'Splintered Fate' Is Heading To Switch 2 Next Week
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (6th December)
Realistically though I know I’m not going to have time to play all of this with it being holiday season and much of my free time being devoted to my step daughter but I’m sure I'll get some gaming in
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (29th November)
Trying to finish DK Bananza event to get the Lanky Kong statue. Most I have been able to get is 750,000. Got a feeling I won’t be able to hit the 1,000,000 mark. Finished the Kirby Air Riders event last night
Re: Poll: What Review Score Would You Give Kirby Air Riders?
8/10 for me. I’m having a fantastic time with it, but the amount of content overall leaves me concerned for its longevity. More tracks on both Air Ride and especially Top Ride would’ve been welcome as well as at least one other City Trial map. This is a game that I feel dlc would’ve been much more appreciated. Some post launch updates ala Splatoon would have pushed it to a 10/10 for me
Re: Kirby Air Riders: Guide, Tips & Tricks, All Modes & Unlocks
Picked mine up this morning but didn’t have much time to dive in before work. I have another 2 hours to go before I can go home and put some real time into it. Unfortunately, short of a single City Trial I completely missed the demo times due to my work schedule on Saturdays being a wash and the fiancé has me on Sundays, so I’m looking forward to getting some real time with the game
Re: TMNT: Splintered Fate 'Wraith Invasion' Update Now Available - Mini Boss Astral Wraiths, New Rewards And Much More
Still waiting for my physical copy of the Pipin Hot Collectors edition… it keeps getting pushed back, now says December 5th… exactly one day after Metroid Prime 4 so even if it does come looks like it’ll be a bit before I boot it up
Re: Review: Kirby Air Riders (Switch 2) - Incredibly Chaotic, But Satisfyingly Deep & Rewarding Racing
Re: Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP's Switch 2 Upgrade Gets Last-Minute Delay
Re: Resident Evil Pro Controller Is Available To Pre-Order, But Its Price Is Terrifying
Re: Everything Included In The Animal Crossing: New Horizons - Nintendo Switch 2 Edition & Free 3.0 Update
Re: Everything Included In The Animal Crossing: New Horizons - Nintendo Switch 2 Edition & Free 3.0 Update
Re: Surprise! Animal Crossing: New Horizons - Nintendo Switch 2 Edition Arrives Next Year
Really would rather have a new game… all this is going to do is push back the possibility of getting a new AC game anytime soon. ACNH brought some good new features like being able to decorate outside of the house, more interior decorating options, etc as well as diy crafting. These elements I would like to see migrated to a new AC game because these features aside ACNH is still the inferior AC game compared to New Leaf.
Re: Hyrule Warriors: Age Of Imprisonment Playable Characters - Every Fighter Revealed So Far
Re: Hyrule Warriors: Age Of Imprisonment Trailer Sets Up The Imprisoning War
I was really hoping we would get a free Switch 2 update for Age of Calamity to bring that game up to Age of Imprisonment’s standards while we waited for this release. I guess Nintendo was concerned that people would just skip on AoI if they did that. Hopefully after this release they do it. I’d love to have 60 fps in AoC. Regardless I can’t wait to pick up my copy of this game in two weeks! Between this, Air Riders (which the recent direct pushed my hype level to max) and Metroid Prime 4 the next two months are going to be extremely stacked
Re: Sakurai Has No Plans For Kirby Air Riders DLC: "Everything Is Here"
There’s a huge difference between DLC being actively worked on while a game is in development and planning DLC for long term support.
Re: The Nintendo Museum Now Has An Official Book
@dew12333 Thank you! We are spending 3 days in Tokyo, a day in Hakone, and 3 days in Kyoto before going back towards Tokyo for a day at Disneyland Tokyo before flying home. Any specific things you recommend we check out, doesn’t necessarily have to be Nintendo related
Re: The Nintendo Museum Now Has An Official Book
I will be in Kyoto this coming May for my honeymoon and the Nintendo museum is high on the list of things we are hoping to get to see. My understanding is that tickets are sold on a lottery system, I'm hoping we can get in!
