Re: Disney Dreamlight Valley Will No Longer Be Free-To-Play When It Leaves Early Access In December

Darthmoogle

So it’s no longer going to be free to play but still keeping all the free to play monetization… got it. So glad I didn’t fall for this. Unfortunately my girlfriend did and has wasted so much money on the premium shop (money that should have gone into the household and groceries mind you not just her personal spending money) glad I have an excuse to continue not playing this game as I did promise her I would give it a try once it went free to play but I refused to pay money for it

Re: Star Wars: Dark Forces Remaster Blasts Onto Switch Next February

Darthmoogle

@marcelominucelli what I would give for a HD remastered collection for the Rogue Squadron trilogy! Still to this day my favorite Star Wars games! Shadows of the Empire hasn’t aged particularly well but I would take that as well. Though that would perhaps be better suited for Switch Online Expansion Pass if Nintendo can work out the licensing

Re: Review: Ghostbusters: Spirits Unleashed - Ecto Edition - Dripping In Nostalgic 4v1 Fun

Darthmoogle

How is the AI in this? I’m not big on online multiplayer, my girlfriend and I might get this for our Switch’s and play local multiplayer, but it’s really going to be dependent on how enjoyable it is playing with/against the AI. Also with this now available on Switch and Rise of the Ghost Lord coming later this week on Quest 2/3 and PSVR 2 it’s a great time to be a Ghostbusters fan.

Re: Review: Super Mario Bros. Wonder - The Best 2D Mario Since The Super NES

Darthmoogle

“Keeps things relatively gentle in terms of challenge“

That’s disappointing. I miss 2D Mario that has some decent challenge. I get that Nintendo wants to keep their games accessible, especially with Mario, but why are they so scared to challenge the player? We don’t need something as punishingly challenging as SMB2 Japanese (Lost Levels) but even Mario 3 and World had some decent challenge tucked away, and heck they could give us some real challenge like they did with World by making hidden nonessential levels that have the challenge ramped up. I just don’t know when or why it was decided that Mario games can’t have high levels of challenge anymore. I’m still going to play it and I’m sure I’ll love it. It seems incredibly charming, but I’m sure in the back of my mind I’ll be thinking back to those classics and wishing this brought Mario back to his former glory

Re: Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi Fans Spot New Trademark For 'Sparking! Zero'

Darthmoogle

@Snatcher Dan Dan Kokoro is a great theme song but hardly underrated. The song and Super Saiyan 4 design are about the only things most Dragon Ball fans actually seem to agree on that GT got right lmao. Also just for the record not a GT hater here, no it wasn’t great but I still stand by it had some really good ideas just unfortunately poor execution. Baby and the Shadow Dragons both should have been so much better than they were and the less said about Super Android 17 the better

Re: Soapbox: What Do You Do When Nintendo Ticks Off Your ENTIRE Most-Wanted List?

Darthmoogle

At this point the 3 things I still want from Switch that are somewhat realistic requests;

A true new F-Zero (no F-Zero 99 doesn’t count) or F-Zero GX port/HD remaster

Xenoblade Chronicles X port because this game was too good to die with the Wii U. I mean all the other important Wii U games have been ported let’s get this over as well

Fire Emblem remakes of Genealogy of the Holy Way and Thracia 776. I’d also like the other games that never got official English releases but since rumors have pointed to Genealogy possibly in development I think it could be packaged with Thracia

Re: Disgruntled Switch Fans File Class Action Lawsuit Over KOTOR II DLC Cancellation

Darthmoogle

@gazamataz and if people were effected by this and already own everything that was being offered then what? I get that it’s “just $15”. At this point it’s not about the money it’s about the principle. This wasn’t dlc announced after the release, this was marketed as a selling point for the game. The original announcement trailer made sure to promote it. Now do I put 100% of the blame on Aspire? No, I truly believe that Disney/Lucasfilm got involved and it became an issue over rights. That said they over promised before they knew they could deliver and sold the game on that promise. I think they should be held accountable if for no other reason than to send a message. The more these companies get away with things like this the worse it’s going to get

Re: Where To Pre-Order Tears Of The Kingdom Zelda And Ganondorf amiibo

Darthmoogle

Couldn’t get the Noah/Mio 2 pack. Guess I’ll have to do what I did with Pyra/Mythra and wake up ungodly early on the morning of release and keep an eye on Best Buy and Target to see when in store stock goes live to order it for pick up. It’s really annoying to see the TotK amiibo are so easily obtainable while the Xenoblade ones sell out in minutes. Has Nintendo learned nothing??? Clearly they are under producing these.

Re: Free-To-Play Battle Royale 'My Hero Ultra Rumble' Out Next Week On Switch

Darthmoogle

As others have said I’d rather have One’s Justice 3, or they could go the Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 route and simply continue to support OJ2 with additional fighter and story dlc and completely ignore the need for a sequel. But honestly what I really want is a MHA action rpg. It could simply have you follow Midoria’s story, but MHA lends itself so well to original content. An rpg where you play the roll of a student freshly accepted into the hero course, it could be something like an anime version of Hogwarts Legacy. Get a robust character creator where you get a wide range of quirks to assign. I suppose that might be a bit too ambitious and high effort for an anime licensed game but that kind of game would be my dream MHA game

Re: Poll: What Did You Think Of The Nintendo Direct, Then?

Darthmoogle

Would have been really bad if not for Another Code. That was the announcement that got my attention. Other than that it wasn’t great. I’m glad to see F-Zero isn’t dead anymore even if this isn’t the F-Zero game I wanted. Hopefully if this gets a large enough player base it will convince Nintendo to give us either a complete new game or at least remaster/remake of GX. Ending it with TTYD remaster was disappointing. Great game but that just wasn’t worth the “one last announcement” treatment. The fact that this was what Nintendo felt was their big announcement is rather telling that the Switch is winding down in favor of new hardware likely next year

Re: The Original Tomb Raider Trilogy Is Getting Remastered For Switch

Darthmoogle

@ottoecamn the anniversary edition of the first Halo did it as well. It was remastered for the Xbox 360 and at the push of a button could swap on the fly back to the original graphics. I think one of the Wonder Boy remakes does this too if I’m not mistaken. But yeah I love this feature and I wish all classic game remasters did it.

Re: Cowabunga! New Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem Game Announced For Next Year

Darthmoogle

Wasn’t a fan of the new movie. The turtles didn’t feel unique enough from each other, I didn’t like the interpretation of Splinter at all, making him fearful and hating humans, wasn’t a fan of the design for April at all, the mutants all felt kind of tacked on, hated seeing even Bebop and Rocksteady working with the turtles, they should have been the two mutants that remained sided against the turtles so they set up for them to become henchmen for Shredder. I don’t know nothing really worked for me in that movie. Maybe I’m still bitter about never getting a sequel to TMNT 2007… that movie is to underrated and under appreciated

Re: Nintendo Looks To Be Updating Its Smash Bros. amiibo Packaging

Darthmoogle

@Spider-Kev that sucks, hope you can get a hold of them soon. I missed the like what two minute preorder window, and waited for day of release to hunt them down. Fortunately I ended up waking up randomly at like 3:00am and checked and found Best Buy had them back up for in store pick up. Managed to score two sets (one for me and one for my friend I’m no scalper) Xenoblade Chronicles is among our favorite franchises so we had to have them. Good luck hunting it down.

Re: Nintendo Expands Its Switch Online N64 Library With Another Game Next Week

Darthmoogle

I will happily revisit this game, but I’m hoping some of the more hidden gems of the N64 library start showing up. I’d like to see the Snowboard Kids games and the one I really want to see show up here is Beetle Adventure Racing. Unfortunately due to licensing I doubt that one will actually come over, might have to just pick up a used copy some time. So many great memories renting that game

Re: Random: One Piece's Netflix Star Would "Love" To Play Zelda: Wind Waker

Darthmoogle

@Daniel36 if you liked the Death Note anime I would also recommend the live action Japanese Death Note adaptation movies. They follow the events much closer to the anime and manga up to a certain point until they decide to do their own thing, I won’t spoil it for you if you are interested. Also the Rurouni Kenshin movies are superb. They represent the template on how live action anime/manga adaptations should be handled. Not to say they aren’t without their faults, specifically in how they seriously sideline Sanosuke and Yahiko, but for condensing the first season into one movie and the second season into two those movies were fantastic

Re: Take-Two CEO On Backward Compatibility: "Give Consumers What They Want"

Darthmoogle

@stevep I see your point as somebody who still has all my old consoles dating back to Atari 2600, but it’s the convenience of having access to these titles on current hardware you are most likely keeping hooked up and actively playing so you don’t have to dig out old hardware you don’t really have the space to keep hooked up. Besides there’s only so many inputs on a tv

Re: Take-Two CEO On Backward Compatibility: "Give Consumers What They Want"

Darthmoogle

@CharlieGirl backward compatibility needs to be an all or nothing situation. I think digital backward compatibility but no method of allowing physical backward compatibility would cause more rage than no backward compatibility in general. Many Switch gamers prefer physical cartridges as it makes more sense on Switch since it’s the only modern console that games don’t have to be fully installed. I personally buy physical when I can. I already filled my 400 gb sd card to max and had to delete software to make space just from eshop exclusives and update data/dlc for retail games. If I bought everything I currently have digital no doubt even if I bought a terabyte sd card it would be maxed out by now. I want backwards compatibility but if it doesn’t support physical media as well there’s really no point

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (August 5th)

Darthmoogle

@Snatcher I actually just picked up Pirate Warriors 4 as well while it was on sale dirt cheap. I’ve been playing through Pirate Warriors 3 and binging the anime any chance I can get. I tried about 5-6 years ago but only got up to just before Water 7. Love the anime but it’s such a commitment. Currently I’m only on Arlong Park so I have quite a ways to go.

Re: Poll: Have You Ordered Physical Switch Games That Came With The Cart Missing?

Darthmoogle

I’ve only had this happen to me once from an order on Amazon. It wasn’t a Switch game but rather a 3DS game. I had ordered Pokémon Alpha Sapphire a couple years back as a new copy sold and shipped directly from Amazon. The game case came in and had no cellophane wrapping at all and the game was missing. Amazon sent me a replacement right away and I sent them their empty box, I always assumed it was somebody in the warehouse that saw the opportunity to steal it out of the packaging without being seen

Re: Rumour: Nintendo Is Targeting A 2024 Release For The Switch Successor

Darthmoogle

@TenEighty I get what you’re saying, but the issue is current games are struggling to run properly on the current hardware. This is especially prominent with third party, but even one look at Pokémon Scarlett and Violet, or heck even Zelda Tears of the Kingdom show that even Nintendo’s own in house games are getting too ambitious for the current hardware. Higher resolution is nice and all, but I do think it’s time for new hardware to allow these games to perform better, even if we stay at a capped 1080p docked 720p handheld. If we get hardware that ensures every game can hit these target resolutions and run at a stable 60fps I think it will be worth the upgrade

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (July 29th)

Darthmoogle

I’ve been in a major One Piece mood lately, started watching the anime from the beginning (last time I binged it I only got as far as Skypia arc) so I’ve also been playing One Piece Pirate Warriors 3 in between watching the anime. I already had it as well as Unlimited World Red, but I saw that Pirate Warriors 4 deluxe edition was on sale for $14.99 down from $89.99 so I picked that up as well. Eventually I will go back to Zelda, but I know once I do it will absorb my life again so I’m trying to be careful when I decide to go back

Re: Poll: Were You Able To Get The New Super Smash Bros. Ultimate amiibo?

Darthmoogle

@Notsoavid preorders were sold out in America due to scalpers… it’s really tiresome when preorders sell out in less than 15 minutes after going live. Fortunately some retailers started taking orders on release day. I just don’t understand why Nintendo so often underestimates demand. The Link amiibo for TotK at least was available for preorder for months so hopefully Zelda and Ganondorf won’t be so difficult to get a hold of

Re: Reminder: Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Xenoblade Chronicles amiibo Are Out Today

Darthmoogle

Ended up waking up at about 2:30 this morning and checked for stock updates and was able to order two sets from Best Buy (one for me and another for my friend). It says they won’t be ready until July 28th so I guess this is a second wave shipping, unless this changes later after they actually open today. It’s crazy how hard it is to get a hold of these. Almost as bad as the early Fire Emblem amiibos

Re: Round Up: The Reviews Are In For Pikmin 4

Darthmoogle

I have to resist the urge to pick this up right now. I just (finally) picked up Pikmin 3 Deluxe and I plan on getting the physical copy of 1 and 2. Pikmin is a series I always enjoyed but never finished any of the games before (never even played 2 despite owning the Wii version) so I’m not letting myself get Pikmin 4 until I beat 1-3

Re: Review: Pikmin 4 - Relaxed, Refined Real-Time Strategy, Ready To Crack The Mainstream

Darthmoogle

@Bobb if you haven’t already I suggest checking out the demos for both Pikmin 4 and Pikmin 3 deluxe. Pikmin 1 as far as I can tell is the only one with much of a time limit, though I have yet to play through Pikmin 2 as I skipped it on GameCube and always had it on the backlog when I got the Wii version but according to this review and what I’ve heard 2 is the most lenient of the bunch. The only “time limit” in 3 is making sure you have juice which isn’t difficult. Honestly even Pikmin 1’s time limit is generous, but as somebody who enjoys exploring every nook and cranny and taking my time doing so I can definitely sympathize with you.

Re: Master Detective Archives: Rain Code Writer "Would Love To Make A Sequel"

Darthmoogle

@Hero-of-WiiU I’m currently playing through Danganronpa 1 as I’ve been waiting for my Rain Code limited edition (coming in today finally) and I can confirm they did exactly this with Danganronpa too. When there is voice acted dialogue it doesn’t always match exactly with the dialogue on screen. It’s not the biggest deal in the world because both still essentially say the same thing, but it can certainly be off putting the first time you notice it

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (July 15th)

Darthmoogle

I’m curious about this cheat code to unlock the AX version of F-Zero. This is the first I’ve heard that AX is actually hidden on the disk. Does this require anything special? Such as running the game on Dolphin because the original hardware can’t support it? Or any modding my console? I’d love to try this if it is easy enough to access. I have the original hardware and game disk already.

Re: Japanese Charts: Master Detective Archives Claims Victory As Zelda: TOTK Takes Third

Darthmoogle

@UltimateOtaku91 glad to hear that the game is really good, not enough people are talking about it. I’ve had the collector’s edition preordered since the game was first announced. Between the art style and the fact that it’s a spiritual successor to the Danganronpa series I had a lot of faith in it. When reviews started coming out to mostly 7’s I started thinking maybe I should cancel my collectors edition and just get the game later on discount. I ended up keeping it though and still waiting for it to arrive. I think it’s coming today actually. Looking forward to checking it out hopefully after work today.

Re: Tsukihime: A Piece Of Blue Glass Moon Will Get First Official English Localisation In 2024

Darthmoogle

@steely_pete my guess is that it will likely be censored though I hope I’m wrong.

On a side note does this indicate we may finally get an official English version of Fate/Stay Night? I was a fan of the original anime before the series became fairly well known in the west, as well as Zero and Unlimited Bladeworks. I have the original visual novel on my old pc with an English patch but I never got around to going through it. I would gladly buy it on Switch though if it actually makes it over here

Re: Poll: What's Your Game Of The Year Of 2023 So Far?

Darthmoogle

@Scooby-Doo how is it overall? The way you wrote your comment suggests that you enjoyed it but it’s only your current goty by default so I’m curious what you actually think of it. I have the limited edition on preorder which was delayed so I’m still waiting to get it but I’m also kind of on the fence as to whether to keep the preorder or not.
