This game seems so unhinged, perfect for me! I’m ok with waiting for big fixes to come (and a nice hefty sale as well) as I’m neck deep in Switch 2 games as well as Switch 1 updated games. I did put this in my wish list though
@Hank_Scorpio I’ll have to try SC in wide screen later then. TBH I didn’t even try it. I took one look at that preview screen and said no way and changed it back to 4:3 so I haven’t seen it in motion
So an 10 out of 10 game gets enhancements that improve it but drops the score to 8 out of 10? I am genuinely surprised considering it’s the “best way to play the game”. Even if you don’t like Zelda Notes you don’t have to use that feature, and that and the “aging textures” seems like small complaints to deduct 2 whole points from it.
@OrtadragoonX good to know it’s not just me. Probably will be patched later. No way to really know if it’s really not charging all the way to 90% or if the battery percent gauge is glitched but either way should be a fairly simple fix for Nintendo that will likely roll out on the next update
Is the difficulty fair this time around? Wasn’t a fan of RMX due to it being too punishing even on the easiest skill level, and this is coming from somebody who loves F-Zero GX
I’m hoping a system update will help it conserve power better in sleep mode. While playing games it’s understandable with this console displaying 1080p games with high definition textures it was expected that it’s more of a demand on the battery, but in stand by/sleep mode unless you are downloading a bunch of data it should conserve more than what it appears to be. Also anybody who uses the toggle for charging to only 90%, where does your Switch charge to? Mine stops around 86%-87%. For some reason it doesn’t want to hit 90%. I’m curious if this is just my console or if others are experiencing this
Having a great time with it so far! I put a little time into Yakuza Like a Dragon, but I had wanted to play the traditional brawler games. I do love some good turn based combat, but I feel like a game like this feels more natural as a brawler. I’m not disappointed so far! I do hope that we eventually get the whole series on Switch 2, the announcement trailer seemed to imply more is coming from the franchise. If we do get the rest hopefully we get a Switch 2 version of Kiwami as it would feel out of place being the only game that would look and run like a Switch game. I do have a question for those that are familiar with this game, are the Sega arcades the full arcade games? Do we essentially get several arcade roms with this game?
Juggling several Switch 2 games right now as I get acquainted with the console. What a great piece of tech! Really has a premium feel to it. As for what I’m playing;
Mario Kart World - of course I’m playing this! Haven’t made it very far yet, only completed the first 4 gp cups on 50cc and the first cup of knockout tour on 50cc and been doing a fair amount of free roam. Side note, I was pleasantly surprised with how well the cpu could keep up on 50cc. As expected it still wasn’t specifically challenging, but the fact that the cpu could actually keep pace with me make me excited for 150cc to really challenge me.
Yakuza Zero - still on chapter 1, first time playing a traditional Yakuza game (only game in the franchise I ever put any time at all into was Like a Dragon, the turn based one from a couple years ago). It’s a little slow to start but I’m really enjoying the story so far. My only complaint is the large gaps in which I can’t save my progress so I get stuck in the game for a while until I get another chance to save my progress.
Hogwarts Legacy - finished the prologue up to getting to Hogwarts and being sorted into Ravenclaw. Fantastic port so far and looking forward to finally completing the game after dropping it on PS5.
Switch 2 Welcome Tour - explored up to area F and done all the tech demos so far. Also sampled at least the first stage of every mini game up to this point
I have my copy of Cyberpunk still sealed and have Fantasy Life i, Hitman, and Deltarune in my wishlist, but for now I’m concentrating on these games. I think these four plus Cyberpunk whenever I get around to starting it will be plenty more than enough while I wait for DK Bananza
Hopefully the release date is universal across all platforms. This has been pretty much the only thing shown so far that I actually care about. This show has been surprisingly awful
Lack of analog triggers for the pro controller shouldn’t be a negative against this controller. That’s a negative against the console itself. The default control method is digital triggers why on earth would Nintendo add analog to an optional controller??? No games would likely support it, well ok besides GCN games since they would have it by default. I do wish Nintendo would’ve opted for analog this time around, but I can’t see holding it against the pro controller if the Joycon don’t support it
@AussieMcBucket agreed, it’s really a shame we don’t get that start up animation and sound! They should include it as a toggle option for those of us that want it but can turn it off for those that just want to go straight into the game
@Hank_Scorpio WW doesn’t have 16:9 you ment F-Zero GX and SC right? Also, I’ve not had time to fully explore the GCN app, but looking at SC setting it on 16:9 it seems to just stretch the image, doesn’t properly convert the image to 16:9, not sure about GX though
I’m looking forward to this in a month or two. I plan on it being my very next Switch 2 purchase. I’ll just be far too busy with Yakuza 0, Hogwarts Legacy, and Cyberpunk 2077 in between Mario Kart sessions. It’s going on the wishlist alongside Hitman and Deltarune. Too many things to play on Switch 2 for me.
“ We’ve increased the number of characters that can be selected from the start.”
That’s interesting… I would’ve thought all characters not available at the start would be unlockable through gameplay. Weird that a day one update would do this. Last minute Diddy Kong addition? Lol
I’m hyped for Yakuza 0 Director’s Cut as it will be my first non turn based Yakuza game, as well as Raidou Remastered which I enjoyed the original on PS2. I’m just undecided whether to finally embrace full digital or to give in to game key cards… on one hand digital provides the convenience of always having access without needing to change game cards out as long as it’s downloaded and the new digital game card system has made managing digital games easier. On the other hand I enjoy having my library where I can physically see my games and the cover art, but I do have so many physical Switch games already that maybe it’s not a bad idea just for actual storage in my house to just go digital.
Living in the US here I can say preorders were not really so bad. Sure, the online preorders got scary due to hiccups with servers, Best Buy went live late, etc, but it wasn’t really that bad. If you really wanted a preorder GameStop was a solution as most stores didn’t even hit their capacity until hours after opening. I was genuinely surprised how easy it actually was as I was prepared for far worse
The negativity in the comments section is surprising to me. I thought most people were pretty excited for the launch line up. Launching with a new Mario Kart is pretty hype, and granted much of the 3rd party support is ports, games like Cyberpunk 2077, Yakuza Zero, Hitman, and Street Fighter VI are great gets for the console. Plus having a proper version of Hogwarts Legacy. Then we have DK Bananza on the way next month, and we have the Switch 2 editions of games. There’s a little bit of something for everyone I feel. Me personally I’ll have Mario Kart World, Cyberpunk, Yakuza Zero, and Hogwarts Legacy to divide my attention amongst, not to mention GCN NSO, BotW/TotK Switch 2 editions, and updated Switch 1 games to play I will be more than satisfied personally
What was everybody expecting? The look of the game itself was never going to change. The point of this update is to take what’s already there and increase the resolution and (more importantly) fix the performance issues. This was never meant to be a total conversion of the game. I will say releasing two screenshots is a joke because what we really need is a trailer to show that it performs better. At least it’s a free update so as long as you still own the game you can check it out for yourself once you get the Switch 2.
I stopped playing GTA 5 years ago. I still go back to Mario Kart 8 Deluxe time to time to this day… yeah Mario Kart World will be worth $80 for me, more than GTA 6, especially if it really does launch at $100. Also to echo other commenters these no gameplay trailers are not impressing me at all. I’m not buying a movie here, show me the gameplay if you want to trash talk, oh wait, this guy is a “former employee”, doesn’t seem to be credited to GTA 6 according to this article (only mentions GTA 5 and Red Dead ) and doesn’t represent Rockstar at all. Why does anybody even care what this guy is saying?
Can’t wait to play this at launch. Only Yakuza game I’ve played is Like a Dragon. I’m looking forward to playing a more traditional Yakuza game. I’m just still undecided if I’m going to get the game key card or just admit physical is dead and get it digitally. Either way it’s one of my day one purchases
@JohnnyMind “having an access to them even after the eShop's closure and not tied to a single account as long as the servers haven't shut down (the former has already happened for all past systems except for Switch when it comes to Nintendo while the latter hasn't yet, you can still redownload games you've purchased even on Wii)”
Unfortunately this is not a benefit of physical that these game key cards have. You will have no more access to your game this way as with digital. When a digital game gets delisted from purchase it is not removed from the download server. As long as the download server remains operational you can always redownload games. Game key cards have been confirmed to have literally no game data on them, just a small authentication file, you must still download the game off the same server as those that purchased the game digitally. Fortunately, I hear there are now laws in place that protect our purchases for the foreseeable future by making it illegal for companies to shut down download servers as long as the company remain in business, and I don’t see Nintendo going anywhere for a good long time. That said I still hate them because they do combine the worst aspects of both formats. They lack the convenience of digital while lacking the advantages of physical. I’m still up in the air personally whether I’ll get any with my own money, but at least it allows for people to gift an actual gift rather than a gift card or something
After years of hearing how good it is and actively avoiding it seeing the hype for Deltarune chapters 3 and 4 got me to finally try Undertale. It’s on sale on the eshop currently and I have to say I’m having a great time with it. I’m trying to do a full pacifist play through and hoping to finish before I get my Switch 2 on June 5th
@Moonlessky Hogwarts Legacy is a bit of a different situation. This game is simply a resolution and performance boost, Hogwarts Legacy is functionally different from the Switch version. Despite what was originally stated they are not just using the original Switch version as a base and upscaling it, they are effectively porting the current gen version of the game. That requires more work. Getting a free upgrade would be nice, speaking as somebody who owns the Switch version, but I understand why it’s not happening. This should absolutely be a free upgrade though, I’ll be highly disappointed if they try to tell us that we have to buy the game over again
My prayers were answered! I start my new job May 5th after being laid off. I have the money for it that isn't a problem, but I was worried if preorders opened while I'm training at work and I would miss out. Now I can stay up all night keeping an eye on Best Buy, Target and Walmart for when they go live. Hoping for Best Buy since they have the midnight launch
Couldn’t care less for sports games myself, especially EA sports games, but I’m aware how important they are from an overall sales perspective, and after hearing about how poor the Switch 1 “legacy edition” FIFA games were this doesn’t sound good for those that care about these kinds of games. I hope Switch 2 does get good versions of these though and not watered down versions that lack major core features as I heard those legacy editions did. Switch 2 has proven itself to be a perfectly capable piece of hardware that can competently handle games built for other platforms. The fact that it can run Cyberpunk the way it does is proof of that. Of course it’s still not going to be as powerful, that much is obvious given that it’s a portable console it’s still going to have more limitations, but the line between what’s possible on it compared to PS5 and Series S/X is not so clear anymore.
@ElkinFencer10 yeah, I found out it was misinformation after ordering. Still I got it for $51 and had a $50 gift card so I got it for about $5 after tax. I already own Kirby and both Zelda’s, so I’m not so worried about it. Metroid, and any future titles that release simultaneously on both consoles I will get the Switch 2 retail versions
@ElkinFencer10 same here. I was going to wait for the Switch 2 version to get the whole thing in the card then it had come out that Switch 2 editions would have the regular Switch version with a code for the upgrade so I decided why wait? Then after getting it from Amazon it came out that this was incorrect, but even though I have yet to crack it open I figure I’ll go ahead with keeping it and upgrading once I get my Switch 2 and the upgrade becomes available. This way the game can still be played on either Switch or Switch 2. I have friends that aren’t upgrading right away and I’d like to have the ability to bring this with me without having to bring my Switch 2 + dock
@Ristar24 I see absolutely no reason why they can’t get 60 fps out of Shadow. From everything we’ve seen of the Switch 2 its capabilities seem closer to a PS5 than PS4. Obviously not in terms of raw hardware power, but with things like DLSS doing the heavy lifting it’s much closer to PS5 standards. If Cyberpunk really can hit the 40 fps target that CDPR is claim in for performance mode that alone will be proof of how capable this hardware is.
If it’s just performance enhancements hopefully there will be a free update for Switch 1 owners. I definitely can’t justify buying the game again just for a Switch 2 version, and I’m not even sure if I could justify a $10 upgrade for this one
@johnvboy you got an invite? What country are you from? Not looking good here in the US… I had very high hopes of scoring a preorder April 9th, but with the recent news of the preorders getting delayed due to the tariffs I’m suddenly not so optimistic on getting that preorder, or even if I can justify it when we eventually get the new price…
@Lord unless they eventually do a full remaster like what they did for Prime 1 I would say it’s only a matter of time for Prime 2 to appear on GameCube NSO. I don’t expect to see it before Prime 4 releases though since it was nowhere to be seen when they showed the future release games. My guess is what they showed is all the GameCube games they expect to launch this year, maybe even going into 2026. It still baffles me why only Prime 1 got a remaster, with how long the development was for Prime 4 due to the project getting restarted they had plenty of time to get them done and release them before Prime 4 to get new fans up to speed. Metroid isn’t as big of a franchise for Nintendo and they can’t expect people unfamiliar with the prime series to jump on at 4, or play 1 remastered and not care about missing 2 and 3
REALLY wish Prime 2 and 3 would get the Prime 1 remaster treatment before this release. I never finished either Prime 2 or 3… at this point I’m not even sure we are getting Prime 2 on Switch 2 GameCube before release. I’m tempted to pop my trilogy disk into the Wii U and get through them before Prime 4 drops
Disappointed Persona 3 Reload isn’t coming in the launch window. I finished the game on PS5 but never got the dlc. I’d gladly get a complete package and play through it again on Switch 2
It’s truly baffling why this is not just a pre installed application, especially being as cheap as it is kind of leaves me to think why even bother, but all those criticizing it how it’s “not worth that much” maybe reserve some judgment. We know it has various mini games packed in. We don’t know, however, just how much is packed into this. How can you determine anything when we still know so little?
I’m on a NSO family plan with my friends. I signed up for the invite but noticed afterward that it’s only the account holder which isn’t me. My friends aren’t looking to get Switch 2 at launch so I requested the account holder to put in for the invite. Hoping for the best! I wanted a physical copy of Mario Kart despite the additional cost so I’m trying for the standard one. Hoping they come through as I’m not confident I’ll be able to secure a store preorder
@BlackenedHalo yeah I kinda wish that it was an option to have field skills and division and blade levels in, but I don’t feel like it affects my overall experience that much. The way I see it just kind of streamlines the game more. I’m still enjoying it immensely and agree with the majority opinion that it’s definitely an improvement over the original in most regards.
Finally finished TotK just in time for me to dedicate my very limited gaming time to this gem. I never finished the original on Wii U, I got my skell and played around with that for a while but never got much farther. I’m excited to actually finish this game finally, might take me a year or two at this rate, but at least I don’t have to worry about the game being locked to a console on life support.
So we are getting a PS5 and Xbox Series upgrades, hoping this means that the Switch version will see an enhanced Switch 2 version in the future too. I've still not played through it despite owning it. I will get to it eventually. I'm not the biggest Musou fan. I loved the Hyrule Warriors and Fire Emblem Warriors games, and I played a bit of Pirate Warriors 3. I would love to see the Dynasty Warriors Gundam games make a return but it seems that isn't likely to happen at this point unfortunately
MMPR Rita’s Rewind I’m getting for sure. Been excited for it since the debut trailer, day one purchase. I never played the Soul Reaver games, I’ll probably wish list it and wait for a sale
Day one for sure. I never got around to finishing this and this is a game I would love to have portable! I’ve waited years for this to get announced and had given up hope but secretly also got disappointed whenever a new Wii U port was announced and it wasn’t XBCX. I’ll gladly sink in a couple hundred more hours into it.
The modes that require a console per person, those would also require a copy of the game per person right? Since Switch doesn’t have download and play options like 3DS did. Or will there be a free download like Namco Museum had for Pac-Man VS?
Sorry if this was covered in the review I just skimmed it but I didn’t see it mentioned anywhere
@AmyTheBrawler actually what I think would happen is we finally get themes, or even proper folders for the 20.0.0 update just before Switch 2 and then Switch 2 releases bare bones and we have to wait years for these features to be added to it
I’m still holding out hope that if Rita’s Rewind does well enough it convinces them to do a cowabunga collection style collection of the 16 bit and portable games. I believe the Sega Genesis MMPR game was published by Sega themselves, not sure if the same is true for the movie one and the Game Gear ones, but I’m sure they can work with Sega on those rights. I’d love to have the SNES, Genesis, GB, and GG MMPR games all in one place on the Switch. Also throw Zeo Battle Racers in there as I never knew that game existed and Zeo still has most of the same team from MMPR so it would make sense to put it in the Zeo game as well
We really need a collection of the 16 bit and GB and Game Gear games like we got with TMNT in the Cowabunga Collection. I’d be willing to bet it would sell fairly well considering how much nostalgia there is for the original Mighty Morphin era
Ugh I’ve had this on preorder since the localization was announced. I got really excited when I saw my Amazon preorder finally showed a shipping date for 9/12. The first game was among my favorite PSP games.
2025 for sure. Nintendo won’t want to drum up hype for a successor before the big holiday rush. Squeeze out one more holiday for the Switch hardware before giving us a glimpse at the future. The reason Switch was first shown in October was because Nintendo had all but abandoned the Wii U by this point. I’d love to believe they will repeat that success with an October reveal but my gut says they will wait until early next year to try to maximize sales of Switch hardware
I’m not the biggest fan of fighting games but I’ve been craving ports of Power Stone 1 and 2 on current hardware so I don’t have to break out the Dreamcast or PSP every time I want to play (especially since I currently need a new battery for the PSP and misplaced my copy). I’m curious about Project Justice too, heard nothing but good things. I am surprised we are getting Project Justice but not Rival Schools. Would’ve made so much sense to bundle them together. Also wish Techromancer was included too, make it double as a sort of a Dreamcast greatest hits fighting game collection

Re: Switch Online Teases Four Mystery Game Trial Surprises (Japan)
After years of hearing how good it is and actively avoiding it seeing the hype for Deltarune chapters 3 and 4 got me to finally try Undertale. It’s on sale on the eshop currently and I have to say I’m having a great time with it. I’m trying to do a full pacifist play through and hoping to finish before I get my Switch 2 on June 5th
Re: Sonic X Shadow Generations Is Confirmed As A Launch Title For Switch 2
Re: Nintendo Switch 2 US Pre-Orders Start 24th April, System & Launch Game Pricing Unchanged
Re: EA Sports Games For Switch 2 "Are Being Built Specifically For The New Handheld"
Re: Japanese Charts: Not Even The Impending Switch 2 Can Stop This Mario Party
@ElkinFencer10 yeah, I found out it was misinformation after ordering. Still I got it for $51 and had a $50 gift card so I got it for about $5 after tax. I already own Kirby and both Zelda’s, so I’m not so worried about it. Metroid, and any future titles that release simultaneously on both consoles I will get the Switch 2 retail versions
Re: Japanese Charts: Not Even The Impending Switch 2 Can Stop This Mario Party
Re: Sonic X Shadow Generations "Coming Soon" To Switch 2, Here's A First Look
@Ristar24 I see absolutely no reason why they can’t get 60 fps out of Shadow. From everything we’ve seen of the Switch 2 its capabilities seem closer to a PS5 than PS4. Obviously not in terms of raw hardware power, but with things like DLSS doing the heavy lifting it’s much closer to PS5 standards. If Cyberpunk really can hit the 40 fps target that CDPR is claim in for performance mode that alone will be proof of how capable this hardware is.
Re: Sonic X Shadow Generations "Coming Soon" To Switch 2, Here's A First Look
If it’s just performance enhancements hopefully there will be a free update for Switch 1 owners. I definitely can’t justify buying the game again just for a Switch 2 version, and I’m not even sure if I could justify a $10 upgrade for this one
Re: Mario Kart World: Course List - Every Confirmed Track
@johnvboy you got an invite? What country are you from? Not looking good here in the US… I had very high hopes of scoring a preorder April 9th, but with the recent news of the preorders getting delayed due to the tariffs I’m suddenly not so optimistic on getting that preorder, or even if I can justify it when we eventually get the new price…
Re: Hands On: Metroid Prime 4: Beyond On Switch 2 Is Staggering
Metroid isn’t as big of a franchise for Nintendo and they can’t expect people unfamiliar with the prime series to jump on at 4, or play 1 remastered and not care about missing 2 and 3
Re: Hands On: Metroid Prime 4: Beyond On Switch 2 Is Staggering
REALLY wish Prime 2 and 3 would get the Prime 1 remaster treatment before this release. I never finished either Prime 2 or 3… at this point I’m not even sure we are getting Prime 2 on Switch 2 GameCube before release. I’m tempted to pop my trilogy disk into the Wii U and get through them before Prime 4 drops
Re: Sega Announces Five Titles For Switch 2 "Launch Window"
Also hoping Sonic X Shadow Generations gets free Switch 2 version upgrades since I already have the Switch 1 version
Re: Sega Announces Five Titles For Switch 2 "Launch Window"
Disappointed Persona 3 Reload isn’t coming in the launch window. I finished the game on PS5 but never got the dlc. I’d gladly get a complete package and play through it again on Switch 2
Re: Nintendo Switch 2 Welcome Tour Price Has Been Confirmed
It’s truly baffling why this is not just a pre installed application, especially being as cheap as it is kind of leaves me to think why even bother, but all those criticizing it how it’s “not worth that much” maybe reserve some judgment. We know it has various mini games packed in. We don’t know, however, just how much is packed into this. How can you determine anything when we still know so little?
Re: Where To Pre-Order Nintendo Switch 2
I’m on a NSO family plan with my friends. I signed up for the invite but noticed afterward that it’s only the account holder which isn’t me. My friends aren’t looking to get Switch 2 at launch so I requested the account holder to put in for the invite. Hoping for the best! I wanted a physical copy of Mario Kart despite the additional cost so I’m trying for the standard one. Hoping they come through as I’m not confident I’ll be able to secure a store preorder
Re: Legend Of Zelda Movie Release Date Revealed, Coming March 2027
@IceClimbersMain that would actually be pretty fantastic. I approve this casting choice
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (22nd March)
Re: Review: Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition (Switch) - An Underrated Gem Transforms Into The Series' Best
Re: One Piece: Pirate Warriors 4 Is Getting New DLC, Will Be Decided By Fan Votes
Re: Nintendo Download: 5th December (North America)
MMPR Rita’s Rewind I’m getting for sure. Been excited for it since the debut trailer, day one purchase. I never played the Soul Reaver games, I’ll probably wish list it and wait for a sale
Re: Poll: So, Will You Be Getting Xenoblade Chronicles X For Switch?
Day one for sure. I never got around to finishing this and this is a game I would love to have portable! I’ve waited years for this to get announced and had given up hope but secretly also got disappointed whenever a new Wii U port was announced and it wasn’t XBCX. I’ll gladly sink in a couple hundred more hours into it.
Re: Review: Super Mario Party Jamboree (Switch) - Only The Best Game In The Series
Re: Nintendo Switch System Update 19.0.0 Is Now Live, Here Are The Full Patch Notes
@AmyTheBrawler actually what I think would happen is we finally get themes, or even proper folders for the 20.0.0 update just before Switch 2 and then Switch 2 releases bare bones and we have to wait years for these features to be added to it
Re: Best Power Rangers Games, Ranked - Switch And Nintendo Systems
I’m still holding out hope that if Rita’s Rewind does well enough it convinces them to do a cowabunga collection style collection of the 16 bit and portable games. I believe the Sega Genesis MMPR game was published by Sega themselves, not sure if the same is true for the movie one and the Game Gear ones, but I’m sure they can work with Sega on those rights. I’d love to have the SNES, Genesis, GB, and GG MMPR games all in one place on the Switch. Also throw Zeo Battle Racers in there as I never knew that game existed and Zeo still has most of the same team from MMPR so it would make sense to put it in the Zeo game as well
Re: Poll: What's The Best Power Rangers Game? Rate Your Favourites For Our Upcoming Ranking
We really need a collection of the 16 bit and GB and Game Gear games like we got with TMNT in the Cowabunga Collection. I’d be willing to bet it would sell fairly well considering how much nostalgia there is for the original Mighty Morphin era
Re: R-Type Tactics I • II Cosmos Has Been Delayed For Switch (Again)
Ugh I’ve had this on preorder since the localization was announced. I got really excited when I saw my Amazon preorder finally showed a shipping date for 9/12. The first game was among my favorite PSP games.
Re: Rumour: 'Industry Whispers' Fuel Speculation Of A Switch 2 Reveal This Month
Re: 'Power Stone' Is Coming To Switch In 'Capcom Fighting Collection 2'
I’m not the biggest fan of fighting games but I’ve been craving ports of Power Stone 1 and 2 on current hardware so I don’t have to break out the Dreamcast or PSP every time I want to play (especially since I currently need a new battery for the PSP and misplaced my copy). I’m curious about Project Justice too, heard nothing but good things. I am surprised we are getting Project Justice but not Rival Schools. Would’ve made so much sense to bundle them together. Also wish Techromancer was included too, make it double as a sort of a Dreamcast greatest hits fighting game collection
