Really would’ve liked to see the dlc for Sparks of Hope get discounted. I already own the physical copy of the game I’ve been holding off on the dlc hoping to get it at a reduced price…
Anybody know if the Skyrim anniversary upgrade is worth getting?
@HammerGalladeBro there’s an Amazon link at the bottom of the article for a physical release so yes it seems it will have a physical release
I hate the style of modern Mickey Mouse cartoons and this game mimics it to a T. Other than that the game looks and sounds solid so I may have to look past my gripes and check it out
@popey1980 that’s a very good question because this game is marketed as an asynchronous multiplayer game. It does say it has single player options in the form of ai bots, but then they state “it will also bring with it new story content and expand on what's already available in the main game.” I would like to know what this “story content” is if it’s just a multiplayer game
Could be a good time at the right price. I won’t drop $60 on it, but if it launches at a budget or just wait for a good sale I may consider it. Not very often we get a good Ghostbusters game. Only one I can even think of is the ps3/360 one that we got remastered. Hopefully this and the VR one coming this year will be worth getting. Does anybody remember if this launched at full price on the other consoles? Honestly I didn’t even hear about this game until just a couple months ago
Master Detective Archives Code Rain looks really good and should have been included in the highlighted games. Preordered the collectors edition right after it was announced. I hope this game doesn’t get overlooked.
I will get Pikmin 4 later. I never beat 3 despite owning it on Wii U. I’m going to just get 3 Deluxe on Switch eventually.
@Poodlestargenerica there was a fun game in the first one underneath all the issues I had. The physics and handling felt really solid. Biggest problem I had was with the difficulty. On the easiest difficulty it was way too easy, but on the next difficulty level the rubberbanding gets crazy and the ai gets very aggressive, it feels like they missed a difficulty level somewhere like going from 50cc to 200cc in Mario Kart. Some better balancing would go a long way
Like 95% of the people here I will be playing Zelda TotK on my Switch. 70+ hours only one dungeon complete, 55 shrines, 95 koroks. Been taking my time exploring and doing side quests.
On my PS5 it’s all about VR, I’ll be playing some Walkabout Mini Golf and I’m thinking about picking up Zenith: The Last City now that I finally got my best friend to take the plunge into VR
Non game related I finally picked up the Dragon Ball Super manga volumes 1-15. Currently finished volume 3 and honestly it’s really impressed me. The art is great and there are a lot more differences in how the stories are told versus how they play out in the anime, and mostly all of it is for the better though I do think I preferred the anime fight with Hit but otherwise it’s given me a new appreciation for DBS
@Mbawa the lack of motion controlled shrine puzzles (so far at least) makes TotK shrines better by default. I don’t hate motion controls in general like many do, but in the shrines when you had to use it to move a device in a particular way it just didn’t work, especially if you were playing in handheld where you would have to turn it to the point you can’t see the screen, or the ones where you had to use it to navigate an orb. It wasn’t even that these were difficult puzzles to figure out, they were just difficult to complete due to the controls. Only thing I will say as a negative for TotK shrines is they seem to sway on the easier side (I’ve only found one shrine so far that the final puzzle I just can’t seem to figure out)
I’m busy with Zelda TotK right now and savoring it. Will probably hold my attention for the next couple months so I don’t really need anything from this list. I am, however, curious how the Switch version of Lego 2K Drive is. It looks fun and I plan to get it at some point if not launch, but debating if I should get it on Switch or PS5, or actually give my Series X some love… who am I kidding it’s between Switch and PS5
@UltimateOtaku91 I don’t know if it will win game of the year. I really hope it does as I know this will be my personal goty, but I think it’ll be a very close race between this, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, Hogwarts Legacy, and MAYBE Starfield. BotW won because it was so new and different. While this game improves on it in almost every way I’m still not sure if it will be enough this time. Spider-Man 2 is going to have the same issue being a sequel set in the same NYC map. In all likelihood I’m actually expecting Hogwarts Legacy to take it. That said as much as I did enjoy that game I would love to see TotK win just as BotW did before it. Nintendo games are so underrepresented in the game awards
So if you didn’t finish Champion’s Ballad will the picture still be there? TotK does some cross save stuff with BotW as my horses from BotW were in my stable, is this one of those things that’s dependent on your BotW save? Once I realized my horses were there I immediately went to the house to see and noticed the picture, but I had actually just finished Champion’s Ballad a few days ago in anticipation for TotK
I ended up preordering 2. My friend who wants one is buying my second off me for msrp. Managed to order the Pro controller from Target at about 4am on Friday as well. Only thing I wasn’t able to get was the collector’s edition of the game
@Il_Nintenditore agreed, I’m just glad to see all three Xenoblade games on this list. I wasn’t sure if Definitive Edition actually sold 1 million. The franchise has come a long way from its humble beginnings where it was considered so niche it almost never released in the US at all…
Dokapon Kingdom is in the wish list for me. Can’t justify getting it right now with Zelda TotK coming next week and I’m still working on Xenoblade Chronicles 3 Future Redeemed. Not to mention I impulse bought the TotK Switch OLED
I’ll have to give it a listen. To be honest the OST to BotW was possibly one of the lowest points of the game for me. I get what they were going for but it just wasn’t memorable at all for me. All other Zelda games the music is instantly recognizable to me, but with BotW I kinda forgot there was an OST… maybe listening to it outside of the context of the game will give me a new appreciation for it
@Zimon oh no I understood that. My question was really geared toward AoT 2 + final battle expansion making the first game obsolete. From what I understand the first game was never on Switch but I could get it on PlayStation or Xbox. I wanted to know if it’s still worth getting the first game or if I shouldn’t bother since this also covers season 1
@Zimon Does Attack on Titan 2 Final Battle just make the first game completely obsolete since it covers seasons 1-3? Is there any benefit to me getting both games, such as the first game covering the earlier seasons in more detail, or should I stick with the sequel?
Just the Xenoblade dlc for me. If that doesn’t carry me to Zelda TotK I can always move on to Mega Man Battle Network 2 as I’m right at the end of the first one
@KingMike the lack of a save or password feature was a big issue for the game but not the only one. The game was one of those “where do I go” kind of games but the game barely gave the player any resources like health pickups or ammo and the default weapon was practically useless but 90% of the time, at least in the beginning of the game, it’s all you have. I’m all for a challenging game, but this was not a fun challenging game. If they do surprise us with the Genesis games I’ll probably pick this up and maybe try it again as an adult. Hopefully this collection will include save states at least
@PersianZSR yes, and they were mostly pretty bad. The first game on the SNES was not good at all and I never heard anything good about the others. hopefully though this collection gets the Genesis/Megadrive games, those were actually quite good
I still say calling the divine beasts dungeons is a bit of a stretch. Granted they were the closest things we got to a genuine Zelda dungeon I still feel they lacked the feel of what makes a dungeon in the Zelda games. They also all felt way too similar to each other. And though the author points out they are even themed, that theming doesn’t amount to anything really until you fight the boss. When you are going through the divine beasts it’s not anything like going through a fire or water temple where the elements are actually present within the dungeon. Not saying BotW is bad because it lacks good dungeon design, but I’m certainly hoping we get some actual dungeons in TotK
I would’ve picked this up day one if not for the fact that my Megaman Battle Network Collection preorder is, allegedly, coming in tomorrow, Xenoblade dlc next week, and Zelda practically right around the corner. This will probably be a summer pick up for me. I do feel just the two games was a bit stingy. Why not give us at least Dual Strike as well? What about Famicom Wars? Would have been a great way to finally see that localized.
I voted for Legends, but a Legends collection MUST included The Misadventures of Tron Bonne. And I agree with the article that including a prototype Legends 3 would be cool but I feel it’s highly unrealistic.
I refused to pay for Dreamlight Valley. I’ve watched the girlfriend play it on her Switch and I can confidently say it’s not for me, I’ll stick with my Animal Crossing. This, however, has my interest. Not enough to preorder it, but I’ll wait to try it when she inevitably gets it and see if it’s actually a competent kart racer. The drip feed of new Mario Kart tracks has me yearning for a good new racer. It is made by Gameloft though so I will keep my expectations in check
I would really like to know who these people are that keep buying Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. For a game that’s almost 6 years old now and been a holiday pack in title for every holiday season who doesn’t own this game by now??? I mean are these people who keep losing their game cartridge or something? I love the game but honestly wish it would stop selling so much now so Nintendo has some incentive to finally give us Mario Kart 9. I’m just hoping that the current dlc doesn’t mean that we are going to be waiting years into the next console cycle for a proper new Mario Kart.
I got my preorder for the base game at $59.99 on Amazon before news went out that it was going to be $69.99. I still tried for the collectors edition, couldn’t get it, and would’ve happily cancelled my Amazon order for it but this sold out instantly too… oh well guess I’m just getting my game for $10 less…
@Cashews oh I’m certain that’s what SE thinks, that’s why I’m asking here lol. I know these have been available on Steam and mobile I think for quite some time so I was wondering for anybody who has had experience with them. And I know the translations for the originals can be iffy at best. I’ve heard that FF VI advanced has been pretty much the definitive version of that game due to being close to the original but a much better translation but the game is extremely expensive in the second hand market and I missed it when it was available new back in the day. So I was really just wondering how these compare
Are these considered the definitive way to play these games? Specifically VI as I’ve never gotten around to playing that one. I played IV plus the After Years on PSP really wish After Years was included here but I understand why it isn’t.
@CazSonOfCaz have you never played a Mario Party or Mario Kart game? Mario has been a professional at tearing apart families and ending friendships for decades now lol
Can anybody tell me if there is a good point in the game that I should start the Fell Xenologue? I haven’t finished the game yet. On chapter 13 or 14. I heard you have to finish the dlc before getting the new class so is it intended to be played before completing the base game?
This definitely bodes well for 2 and 3 getting the same treatment. If they weren’t already being worked on surely they will be now. If this was the franchises fourth biggest launch just counting physical sales I would have to assume when factoring digital sales it probably saw the biggest launch in franchise history. It would be foolish not to capitalize on this success.
@HammerGalladeBro see now a Plumbers Don’t Wear Ties remaster I can get behind. I had never heard of the game before the AVGN episode and though I’m sure James picked the best/funniest moments in the game for footage that’s a game that I would like to see the entirety of just for how absurd it is. Bill and Ted thought… I saw enough on the AVGN episode to know that it doesn’t reach that “so bad it’s good” level it just looks mechanically awful. Can’t comment on the GB game but I’ll pass on this
Did they fix the issue where it crashes every 15-30 minutes. Seriously you still have to pay money to play this free to play game and it still runs terribly on the Switch. I watch my girlfriend play it and I just can’t get over how it’s still in such a bad state. Sure it’s improved since launch, but it’s still one of the most unstable Switch games I’ve seen
@Kermit1 I’m still wishing for Nintendo to do F-Zero GX + AX HD. A HD remaster with online play with content from both games rolled into one. Wishful thinking I know. Probably about as likely as a home port of the Mario Kart arcade games…
On topic I’ve heard really good things about this game, though I’m still on the fence. I wish it was just a bit cheaper as it’s not quite at the price that I feel comfortable buying into without having the chance to at least try it first. A demo at the very least would be nice. Might be that last push I need to pick it up
I’m holding out hope for Prime 2 and 3 remasters. I was really hoping for the trilogy honestly. Sure Prime 1 was the best one, but I also played this one to death. It’s one of my favorite games of all time, but I don’t think I ever got around to even finishing 2 and 3. Would like to play those all the way through before Prime 4 releases, if it ever actually does release.
I actually really enjoyed the first one even though I fell off it. It gives you a really good workout if you are doing it right. Never picked up the sequel and not bothering now as I’m much more intrigued by the Fist of the North Star Fitness Boxing
@H8erade Nintendo was able to support both a home console and handheld at the same time for all those past console generations because game development time was far shorter than it is now. It would not be smart to go back to that model. The hybrid model is still the best way to go. Switch proved Nintendo doesn’t necessarily have to compete with power specs of Sony and Microsoft machines, they just need something strong enough that third party software can be ported to it, even if it has to be scaled down.
I love how Nintendo continues to want to innovate and experiment with different concepts. While it flopped hard I personally loved the Wii U and wish it got more attention and that the game pad was used in more creative ways. Early stuff like Nintendo Land showed us the potential for some creative and innovative ways to play games. All that said the Switch has become such an integral part of my daily life I can’t see myself not having a hybrid console to take with me wherever I go. I do hope the successor doesn’t stray from it and instead just improves on it.
I was hoping part of the day one update would be allowing you to take units into battle dressed in custom outfits. I heard when you change outfits it only affects characters within the Somniel, which you seem to spend far less time in than the monastery in Three Houses. Plus I definitely prefer pony tail female Alear, the two tone hair doesn’t look nearly as bad in that style.
Preordered the divine edition for store pick up at Best Buy. Made sure to request Friday as my day off this week. I can’t wait! As much as I enjoyed Three Houses I’ve been wanting something closer to a traditional Fire Emblem experience and this looks like it will scratch that itch

On topic I’ve heard really good things about this game, though I’m still on the fence. I wish it was just a bit cheaper as it’s not quite at the price that I feel comfortable buying into without having the chance to at least try it first. A demo at the very least would be nice. Might be that last push I need to pick it up
Re: Review: Metroid Prime Remastered - A Long-Awaited And Stunning Return Of A Legend
Re: Surprise! Nintendo Announces New Paid DLC For Fitness Boxing 2: Rhythm & Exercise
I actually really enjoyed the first one even though I fell off it. It gives you a really good workout if you are doing it right. Never picked up the sequel and not bothering now as I’m much more intrigued by the Fist of the North Star Fitness Boxing
Re: Talking Point: Does Nintendo's Next Console Have To Be 'Another' Switch?
@H8erade Nintendo was able to support both a home console and handheld at the same time for all those past console generations because game development time was far shorter than it is now. It would not be smart to go back to that model. The hybrid model is still the best way to go. Switch proved Nintendo doesn’t necessarily have to compete with power specs of Sony and Microsoft machines, they just need something strong enough that third party software can be ported to it, even if it has to be scaled down.
Re: Talking Point: Does Nintendo's Next Console Have To Be 'Another' Switch?
I love how Nintendo continues to want to innovate and experiment with different concepts. While it flopped hard I personally loved the Wii U and wish it got more attention and that the game pad was used in more creative ways. Early stuff like Nintendo Land showed us the potential for some creative and innovative ways to play games. All that said the Switch has become such an integral part of my daily life I can’t see myself not having a hybrid console to take with me wherever I go. I do hope the successor doesn’t stray from it and instead just improves on it.
Re: Fire Emblem Engage Launch Day Update Now Available, Here Are The Patch Notes
Re: Poll: Fire Emblem Engage Is Out On Switch This Week, Are You Getting It?
Preordered the divine edition for store pick up at Best Buy. Made sure to request Friday as my day off this week. I can’t wait! As much as I enjoyed Three Houses I’ve been wanting something closer to a traditional Fire Emblem experience and this looks like it will scratch that itch
