Looking at the comments here just makes me sad. I grew up on the 16 bit era. I can remember when gaming was just about fun. We weren’t all that concerned with performance as long as it played fine and was fun we were happy. Heck Ocarina of Time, one of the greatest games of all time played at 20fps and we didn’t care. Now you get people complaining a stable 30fps is unplayable and a slideshow. Not even close. Is 60fps preferable? Sure. But 30fps is fine too. If it’s stable it will look all the better, we have seen FFVII remake on Switch 2, stable 30fps on that looks really smooth, at least to my eyes. Gamers these days are so entitled and care for their performance more than anything else. Bring back the era of just having fun with our games without fixating so hard on technical specs
@nathatruc “I bought all the yakuza on gog last summer for 25€ I have them drm free why would I rent them on switch, if they did real physical version I would have bought them.”
I truly don’t understand comments like this. I don’t like game key cards either, but your thought process here just makes no logical sense. You say because you “own” the games on GOG why would you “rent” them on Switch. Tell me how exactly you are renting the games. If you buy a game digitally on the Switch or even game key card as long as you have the game downloaded and installed that game is never going away. The games can always be redownloaded as well until if/when download servers are ever taken offline, which the same holds true for GOG, so why is buying from GOG “owning” and on Switch 2 it’s “renting”
@Teksette actually the physical release date got delayed, again… we are now getting it October 24th, unless that’s just specific to the Pipin’ Hot Collectors Edition. If you look at it on Amazon the actual product image has been adjusted to reflect the new date. That said I’m not so sure the free update will be on the cartridge, depends on when the update was actually completed. It would have had to have been finalized well before the physical version went gold. My guess is none of this content will be on the card sadly
Edit: Ok so the delay is just for the Pipin’ Hot Collector’s Edition. Oh well I’ll continue to wait. I played the game originally on Apple Arcade when I had a free trial for it. I can wait another month
I will be traveling to Japan for my honeymoon next year at the end of April. Unfortunately I will miss the special lighting, but I’m hoping I can see the museum! Currently it looks like tickets are only available via lottery system so no guarantees I’ll be able to see it when I go especially since we are traveling all over Japan so I don’t have the freedom to put in for several days in the lottery as I’ll only have one or two days in the area near the museum. Fingers crossed I can get a ticket!
@Liam_Doolan spotted an error in the article, you state Super Saiyan 4 Vegeta (Daima), Vegeta doesn’t go Super Saiyan 4 in Daima, it’s Super Saiyan 3 Vegeta that’s offered in the Daima dlc
@Jeremazing considering Splintered Fate is highly inspired by the IDW comic series I think Jennika is a very real possibility. I haven’t gotten to the point in the comics yet but I’m aware of her character, and agree she would make for a great addition to the roster
It’s awesome to hear it’s getting more content, but this has me concerned for the upcoming physical release not being content complete. I legitimately waited for the “pipin’ hot collector’s edition” and figured that since it was releasing so far out from the digital release that it would have all content on the card. Maybe it’s not the biggest deal in the world as getting content complete physical games in this day and age is extremely rare, but for a release that doesn’t get a physical until over a year after digital release I kind of expect everything to be on the card
Just Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter Switch 2 edition upgrade for me. The demo more than sold me, spent 10 hours in the demo and after it was over it left me wanting si much more. I have the Switch 1 physical preordered for in store pick up and will pay the $1 for the upgrade
I don’t understand why 120 fps mode isn’t available in handheld mode. I guess it’s too taxing on the battery? Silksong can run 120 fps handheld don’t see why this can’t either if it can hit it in docked mode. Still excited for it!
4K for Switch 2 is all well and good, but what about mouse mode for Switch 2? I get that they’re Wii games so it’s supposed to be motion but Galaxy games use pointer which wasn’t emulated the best on Switch. Mouse mode would make this the best way to play these games imo
@mikegamer because they had to wait for user backlash to force them to actually put the effort in… I guarantee you if nobody complained about the game not getting a Switch 2 version or any improvements that take advantage of the Switch 2 we would never have gotten this patch. They never had any intention of adding this when the launched the game
Every Switch 1 game releasing from this point forward should at minimum have this as a default option. Really I feel every Switch 1 game releasing should have the option to display at 1080p on Switch 2 handheld too, but at the very least a FPS toggle should be standard
I’m sure Silksong is a great game, but I’m getting tired of everybody treating it like it’s the messiah. I’m glad it’s finally out so now we can hopefully move on, at least until Team Cherry announces Hollow Knight 3 10 years before it releases…
@Coffeeglitch don’t get me started on Sparking Zero… I blame the Switch 1 version for that. Honestly, while I’m glad for people who can’t get a Switch 2 right now whether due to cost or availability will have access to the game I’m not thrilled with the S2 port likely suffering because of it as the S2 version appears to be a slightly modified version of S1. And being an Unreal 5 engine game it had no business being on S1 in the first place. I was going to double dip but not unless they heavily patch it to have it running properly
@Switching there is an excuse, these are early Switch 2 games and Nintendo sent dev kits pretty late. I sincerely believe many of these early games were rushed to the market to give early adopters games to get for their new console. This is why we are seeing poor performing ports. I’m hopeful that later games will be better optimized by developers taking their time to get to know the hardware. Specifically I’m waiting to see how Indiana Jones will perform. We should be seeing around Xbox Series S levels from Switch 2 and since that game has built in ray tracing similar to Star Wars Outlaws, which seems to be running pretty poorly according to previews I’m hoping the developers get it running properly
I’ll probably enjoy this, but I don’t need it day one. Just canceled my limited edition preorder, not because of this review, but because I have too much to play right now and life is getting in the way as it is. Definitely one I’ll look into in the future (and hopefully after sufficiently discounted). There’s a lot coming this month and for the rest of the year that has my interest, not to mention I still haven’t picked up Super Robot Wars Y
@OFFICIALMichi agreed, Shadows of Valentia was fantastic, probably my favorite of the 3DS games, but I really would rather they focus on the older games first. FE has been at the height of its popularity in the west and get we still have several titles that have yet to get an official release outside of Japan. I know Nintendo likes to keep the NSO classics as faithful to the original releases as possible but if NOJ/IS isn’t willing to do remakes of the SFC games and Binding Blade I wish NOA would at least translate them and put them on NSO with English text.
This makes me think we are getting an announcement of a remaster on Switch in the September direct. Perhaps the Genealogy remake rumors were simply false? Seems strange to me to both add music to the Nintendo Music app AND add NSO icons for specifically this game. There’s no important anniversary for it as far as I’m aware either so it’s not like it’s an anniversary celebration. If it was just the music getting added I wouldn’t suspect anything, but the icons tells me the game is coming possibly sooner than later. Maybe a shadow drop for the digital version like they did with Pikmin 1 + 2 with a physical release in time for holidays?
So will R-Type Tactics finally release this month? It’s been delayed at least three times and I’ve had it on preorder since it was announced, I believe back in 2023… far too much releasing this month, I had Daemon X Machina limited edition preordered but I think I’m going to cancel and just get the standard release later. Trails in the Sky also has my attention and the physical version of TMNT Splintered Fate since I skipped the digital one. Then of course there’s Pokemon Z-A but I’m not getting that one day one. I just have too much going on that I have neither the time or finances for all these releases
Just the Kirby DLC for this week. Got it for $10 on Best Buy’s website after applying a free $10 voucher. I do want Super Robot Wars Y but I can wait for a discount. For now it’s going in the wish list
@sketchturner probably because Mario Kart World doesn’t exactly have bad gameplay. They would have judged based on many different factors; music, graphics, etc, not just gameplay. However, while I understand how DKB can win best gameplay but lose best overall I can’t say I agree. MKW was good, but didn’t grab me like DK did
@jfp Same. I think much of the reason many Switch 1 games are releasing without a Switch 2 version though is because many developers still don't have a Switch 2 dev kit, or got one not too long ago too late to have a Switch 2 version ready for release. I think starting next year we will see much more Switch 1 releases having a Switch 2 version launching simultaneously.
Got my preorder in at Best Buy. I have so many reward points from my initial Switch 2 purchase plus picking up my best friend’s Switch 2 when it was restocked when DK Bananza released that I got Bananza and Air Riders for virtually nothing, plus I still have enough points left for two more games, one being Metroid Prime 4, undecided if I want to pick up Pokemon Z-A at launch or wait and get Hyrule Warriors as my other almost free game
I’m glad these are here. Even though they are generally seen as awful games they are a part of the franchise’s legacy. Anybody that doesn’t want to play them can just not play them. I guarantee their inclusion didn’t mean other games were axed from the collection to make room for them. As for Mythologies, do we think they will use the N64 version or the PlayStation version? Personally I’m hoping for the PS version for the cheesy FMVs
Getting this at some point down the line if for no other reason than to be able to experience the atrocity that is Bubsy 3D. It’s one of those worst games ever that I’ve always had a morbid curiosity to play
@Vyacheslav333 I’ve been waiting forever for a modern port of Gradius V. I feel like that and R-Type Final are never going to leave PS2. I own both but I would kill to have them on Switch and/or Switch 2
Unfortunately I won’t be able to play because of the limited time windows. Saturdays I work for 14 hours, and while Sundays I have off I spend my day with my fiancé and step daughter and we will be going to the zoo tomorrow so no chance of getting on. Would love the chance to play since I’m not sold on the game yet, hopefully we get some kind of free trial period for NSO subscribers in the future that runs for the entire weekend
Deca Police may be one of the ones pulled. That game was announced in a direct what was it 2 years ago? We haven’t heard much about it since it’s multiple delays other than it’s still coming. Would’ve been a good time to share some more information
The big question for me is this, is R-Type Tactics actually coming or is that September date a placeholder? I’ve had it preordered for over 2 and a half years now with multiple delays
Did performance look fairly stuttering to anybody else? I wouldn’t mind having it on my Switch 2 sometime in the future when it goes on discount, but I’m just hoping it runs well
It seems like this is releasing without the dlc… the game is over a year and a half old, if it’s getting a full retail price (which I’m sure it is) it really should be a complete release like we got with Cyberpunk. I adore this game, beat it on my PS5, and haven’t gotten around to the dlc as my best friend has had my PS5 disk since July last year. I’d absolutely double dip on Switch 2 and replay the game then finally play the dlc, but if it’s going to be like $90 for the full game… guess I’m waiting for a deep discount
@rjejr “I've just never thought a board game was worth $60. $80 is just hard to take.🤑”
Don’t look at kickstarter board games then lol. I’ve spent multiple hundreds of dollars on some board games. But I do agree $80 for a Mario Party is a tough sale. I think for those of us that own Jamboree the $20 upgrade is a no brainer but for anybody starting fresh $80 is a little steep. To be honest I think the full cartridge should be $70. Give new players a $10 discount for buying the game and dlc bundled together
@turnmebackwards glad to hear that as I’m only going off of hearsay at the moment. I know people can very often exaggerate on what they consider performance issues. Glad to hear you had a smooth experience with it. Looking forward to getting there myself
Just started playing this after finishing Hogwarts Legacy last week. About 13 hours in and highly enjoying it. I do hope that alongside this update we get a fix for the auto save stutter. Not game breaking but it can be annoying. Otherwise I’m happy with the performance, though I heard Phantom Liberty may not be as much of a pleasant experience
Glad to hear this. I have the game in my wishlist. I planned on getting it once a good deal comes around. I’m certainly not starved for Switch 2 content as I only just finished Hogwarts Legacy (though still working on finishing the guide book) and just started Cyberpunk and have Yakuza 0 that I’m only on chapter 2. Also have Fantasy life and Mario Kart World and DKB is coming next week. I’m glad the performance issues should be ironed out by the time I get the game
@simonandrewwil it’s not “Nintendo policy”, Nintendo simply made game key card an option for third party publishers as a cost savings option. It sucks for us that want true physical copies, and all we can do is collectively speak with our wallets. That said I’ve moved to an all digital library for anything I want that is offered as a key card as I find the game key card system to be incredibly flawed. Aside from having the option to sell the game after you’re done with it I can see no true benefit to getting the game key card vs just digital. We have seen third party publishers express concern over sales, stating they were well below expectations for the “physical” releases so hopefully they are starting to get the message.
I’ve honestly put very little in, pretty sure less than 10. I’ve been so busy with Hogwarts Legacy, Yakuza 0, and Fantasy Life i to really put too much time into Mario Kart. And I still have Cyberpunk sealed in the box and DK later this month…
@TheExile285 I’m almost positive we will get Persona 4 remake day and date now that Persona has gone multiplatform. I highly doubt we will see/hear anything about it in the next direct though because we are at least a good year or two away from it launching. From what I’ve heard it’s still pretty early in development
@TheExile285 I’m really hopeful for My Hero All’s Justice for Switch 2 as well. I noticed in the original presentation they didn’t even show a Switch logo much less a Switch 2 logo so I’m assuming the Switch version was confirmed after? I’m guessing a Switch 2 version will be announced during a future direct. I’m also hoping for a Switch 2 update for Dragon Ball Kakarot. Maybe around the time the new dlc launches?
Nothing this week as I just finally broke down and bought Fantasy Life i. I will definitely get Ruffy eventually, part of me is hoping for a Switch 2 version down the line, not sure with it being an indie game but it seems more ambitious than most. Also very interested in Front Mission 3 as I enjoy the series but I have so much to play right now and I’m getting DK later next month.
@Yosher yup, I’ve been saying this from the very start since game key cards were announced and it was communicated how they work. Rather than bridging the gap between physical and digital they represent only the downsides to both formats. Honestly the only positive I can come up with is that game key cards can be sold as used or freely traded amongst your friends/family. Otherwise, much as it hurts me to say this as a physical collector, digital is honestly the way to go. At least until these third party publishers get it and stop being so greedy and start offering true physical.
I’m really trying to have an open mind with Fortnite. I always dismissed it and really trying to give it a legitimate chance. I will say I HATE the menus for choosing game modes. It’s such a confusing mess and reminds me of mobile games. Not leaving a great impression with me. I also have a lot to play on my Switch 2 so I’ve not been dedicating time to it. I’ll eventually try to give it more of a chance. I do want to try the Lego game modes. So far I only tried Rocket Racing after finally figuring out how to get into a race and did have fun with it
A 7/10 seems generous considering it’s awful at the one function it is designed for. Yes, it’s a super fun design, yes, the fact that it can be mounted on top of the Switch 2 in handheld mode is really convenient, but if the image quality is so laughably bad what’s the point? Then take price into consideration. In US it costs $5 more than the much higher quality official Nintendo camera. Honestly this should have gotten a 4/10 at most purely based off the fun design and portable mode, but 480p in 2025 is simply unacceptable
I still haven’t taken the shrink wrap off mine yet! I just have too much to do on my Switch 2. I don’t like running multiple single player games at a time but I’m juggling Yakuza 0, Hogwarts Legacy, and LoZ EoW while also playing MKW and Welcome Tour on the side. I also want to pick up Fantasy Life and I will be getting DK once it launches next month. This isn’t even taking into consideration the rest of my massive S1 backlog
@DashKappei @citizenerased maybe it will get patched later down the road with a performance mode? I see no reason it shouldn’t be able to at least match what the Deck can do, and Switch 2 seems to be generally on par with Series S. I’m thinking this was rushed to make launch.

The big question for me is this, is R-Type Tactics actually coming or is that September date a placeholder? I’ve had it preordered for over 2 and a half years now with multiple delays
Re: Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero Blasts Onto Switch And Switch 2 This November
Did performance look fairly stuttering to anybody else? I wouldn’t mind having it on my Switch 2 sometime in the future when it goes on discount, but I’m just hoping it runs well
Re: Surprise! Bloober Team Is Bringing Sci-Fi Scares To Switch 2 With 'Cronos: The New Dawn'
This looked fantastic to me and pretty much saved the show in my eyes. By far the most interesting thing shown and can’t wait to give it a try
Re: Persona 3 Reload Is Making The Jump To Switch 2 This October
It seems like this is releasing without the dlc… the game is over a year and a half old, if it’s getting a full retail price (which I’m sure it is) it really should be a complete release like we got with Cyberpunk. I adore this game, beat it on my PS5, and haven’t gotten around to the dlc as my best friend has had my PS5 disk since July last year. I’d absolutely double dip on Switch 2 and replay the game then finally play the dlc, but if it’s going to be like $90 for the full game… guess I’m waiting for a deep discount
Re: Rumoured Plants vs. Zombies Remaster Potentially Releasing On Switch This Year
Hoping if this is true that a remaster or port of Garden Warfare follows. One of the few competitive shooters I actually enjoy
Re: Review: Super Mario Party Jamboree - Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Jamboree TV - A Fantastic Addition To An All-Time Party Game
Re: Cyberpunk 2077 Update Announced For Switch 2, Here Are The Full Patch Notes
@turnmebackwards glad to hear that as I’m only going off of hearsay at the moment. I know people can very often exaggerate on what they consider performance issues. Glad to hear you had a smooth experience with it. Looking forward to getting there myself
Re: Cyberpunk 2077 Update Announced For Switch 2, Here Are The Full Patch Notes
Just started playing this after finishing Hogwarts Legacy last week. About 13 hours in and highly enjoying it. I do hope that alongside this update we get a fix for the auto save stutter. Not game breaking but it can be annoying. Otherwise I’m happy with the performance, though I heard Phantom Liberty may not be as much of a pleasant experience
Re: Hitman Developer Is Working On Switch 2 Performance Issues "Right Now"
Glad to hear this.
Re: Nintendo's Summer Deals Discounts Multiple Physical Switch Titles, Save Up To $20 (US)
Might be a good time to finally pick up Pikmin 4. Been wanting it but never got around to getting it
Re: Nintendo Highlights Multiple Switch 2 And Switch Games Launching In July 2025
Re: Poll: How Many Hours Have You Spent In Mario Kart World So Far?
I’ve honestly put very little in, pretty sure less than 10. I’ve been so busy with Hogwarts Legacy, Yakuza 0, and Fantasy Life i to really put too much time into Mario Kart. And I still have Cyberpunk sealed in the box and DK later this month…
Re: Digimon Story: Time Stranger Switch 2 Listing Surfaces Online
@TheExile285 I’m almost positive we will get Persona 4 remake day and date now that Persona has gone multiplatform. I highly doubt we will see/hear anything about it in the next direct though because we are at least a good year or two away from it launching. From what I’ve heard it’s still pretty early in development
Re: Round Up: Bandai Namco Summer Showcase 2025 - Every Switch Game
@TheExile285 I’m really hopeful for My Hero All’s Justice for Switch 2 as well. I noticed in the original presentation they didn’t even show a Switch logo much less a Switch 2 logo so I’m assuming the Switch version was confirmed after? I’m guessing a Switch 2 version will be announced during a future direct. I’m also hoping for a Switch 2 update for Dragon Ball Kakarot. Maybe around the time the new dlc launches?
Re: Nintendo Download: 26th June (North America)
Nothing this week as I just finally broke down and bought Fantasy Life i. I will definitely get Ruffy eventually, part of me is hoping for a Switch 2 version down the line, not sure with it being an indie game but it seems more ambitious than most. Also very interested in Front Mission 3 as I enjoy the series but I have so much to play right now and I’m getting DK later next month.
Re: Forget Switch 2 Game Key-Cards - "Full On-The-Cart Physical Releases" Are What People Want, Says Publisher Lost In Cult
Re: Donkey Kong Bananza Switch 2 Box Art Shows Pauline In All Her Glory
I’m thinking it’s going to be a reversible cover art so you can display it with the original image if you choose to
Re: LEGO Fortnite's Switch 2 Release Will Be Followed By A New Game Mode Next Week
So far I only tried Rocket Racing after finally figuring out how to get into a race and did have fun with it
Re: Review: Nintendo Switch 2 Piranha Plant Camera - Shocking Image Quality, But Its Cuteness Will Snare You
A 7/10 seems generous considering it’s awful at the one function it is designed for.
Re: Video: Digital Foundry Delivers Its Cyberpunk 2077 Tech Review On Switch 2
I still haven’t taken the shrink wrap off mine yet! I just have too much to do on my Switch 2. I don’t like running multiple single player games at a time but I’m juggling Yakuza 0, Hogwarts Legacy, and LoZ EoW while also playing MKW and Welcome Tour on the side. I also want to pick up Fantasy Life and I will be getting DK once it launches next month. This isn’t even taking into consideration the rest of my massive S1 backlog
Re: Review: Split Fiction (Switch 2) - Peerless, Visually Stunning Co-op Adventure With Boundless Variety
@DashKappei @citizenerased maybe it will get patched later down the road with a performance mode? I see no reason it shouldn’t be able to at least match what the Deck can do, and Switch 2 seems to be generally on par with Series S. I’m thinking this was rushed to make launch.
